Hector, Marcus, Kent, Sain, Lowen, Raven, Priscilla, Pent, Louise, Florina, Legault, and Ninian were deployed. Raven and Kent both promoted, I was waiting on one more level for Sain, which he ended up getting. Raven broke off to fight the knights and the Speedwings general. The knights were not a threat, but he did pack an elixir since he got 3HKOd by the general and Purge bishop. Florina rescued Hector and took him ahead. Marcus, Kent, and Lowen came up behind. Pent got danced, since he was needed to fight the wyvern group. There really wasn't much going on until Turn 4, when the first wyverns started suiciding on Hector and Pent. Louise also helped to clear the path for Marcus, who went ahead to fight the mercs inside with his Killer Lance out. Kent, Sain, and Lowen formed a wall so the wyverns couldn't reach Ninian or Priscilla. On turn 6, Marcus and Pent went ahead again to draw out the archers. Things would get ugly between the Silver Bow sniper, the swordmaster, and the boss with Purge on Marcus's health, so Legault was rescue dropped into Kenneth's Purge range. Since he went first, he would go for Legault, leaving Marcus with enough to take all the archer hits. Florina carried Hector inside. Marcus critkilled the swordmaster, opting to leave the sniper uncountered. He and Sain comboed for the kill, which got Sain the level he needed. Kent wiped out an Archer and Pent healed Marcus. Priscilla healed Legault, who was Purge bait once again. Florina dropped Hector in seize range on Turn 7. There ended up being two archers still alive, but they couldn't take her down. Kent killed the boss, Legault got the Guiding Ring, and Hector seized. I'm making a bet here that Harken and the Brave Sword won't make up the two turns that I saved later on. Hopefully that works out.
  2. The intent behind it is to make this an average playthrough, so that everything in here can be duplicated with average stats. Having units with amazingly blessed stats could probably help save some turns, but that's not the goal here. Granted, it's not perfect, since because I know what my characters will gain and when, it helps find the perfect promotion time, something that can't be done in random. Hence what I did by promoting Lowen when he was done gaining strength and speed. Anyway, here we go again. Thanks for not letting me get away with that one, because I would have let it go. Chapter 26, Take 2 12/120 Turns Unit Level HP Str Skl Spd Lck Def Res Support Hector 17.82 34 17 11 10 8 16 4 C Eliwood Marcus 11.49 38 18 20 13 11 11 11 C Lowen Priscilla 9.87 19 8 9 10 11 4 9 Lowen 1.29 39 13 11 13 11 15 6 C Marcus Kent 18.48 35 13 14 15 5 11 5 C Sain Sain 17.10 39 18 9 12 9 9 3 C Kent Erk 3.33 31 14 13 15 7 7 13 Florina 2.56 35 10 11 15 11 7 9 Raven 14.56 37 16 17 18 6 9 4 Ninian 6.08 19 0 0 16 14 6 8 Hawkeye 6.01 51 19 14 12 14 15 11 Pent 6.65 33 18 21 17 14 11 16 A Louise Louise 4.20 28 12 14 17 16 9 12 A Pent Heath 8.49 33 13 9 8 7 11 2 Eliwood 8.75 24 8 8 10 10 7 2 C Hector Lyn 9.79 22 7 12 14 9 3 2 Basically the same scenario, but a few things changed. Fiora did not go suicide shopping, and Heath was deployed in her place because he can rescue Hawkeye. I positioned Raven a little differently in the south so that Erk could still stand behind him and heal, but the Wyverns could only reach Raven. This got him more kills than he managed last time, and he did get to level 14. Kent got a bit unlucky with enemies hitting him, so even though he was relatively safe on the fort, his weakness drew lots of enemies to him. This got him a lot of combat, and he hit 18 for his excellent level. The tradeoff was less exp for Sain, but he still got two levels out of here. Pent had to be more aggresively positioned to wipe out more wyverns because Florina needed an unobstructed path to the edge of Vaida's range. I ended up doing a fort drop with Hawkeye instead of a peak drop. Florina only had one square left to move after visiting the shop, and could not escape Vaida's range if she attacked Hawkeye from the side closer to the shop. Maybe she would take the far side and it would have worked, but instead, I altered the plan. To make up for the 20 avoid loss on the fort, I used Nini's grace on him (this strategy seems to pop up an awful lot). Marcus and Lowen rescued Heath and Ninian away after that. This made Hawkeye 5HKOd by Vaida and tinked by the random wyverns. He killed a ton of those random wyverns from his safe spot, enough to even get a level out of the deal. Florina then could shop safely, and was perfectly safe from the scattered wyverns that could reach her. Of course, Vaida decided to miss all four shots, which was kind of funny after all the planning I put in.
  3. Actually, I'll see if I can redo that chapter. Suicide shopping may have been realistic, but in a game, it should be possible to avoid death from the ordeals. (Not a fan of shopping, in case it wasn't obvious.) Couldn't get Farina, since I really needed Hector up fighting. If Florina was properly trained and could solo the east, I would have had another combat unit to fill Hector's spot, but I'd have to go back pretty far to fix that. But I think I can manage the Hawkeye drop, 4% chance of death is a reasonable risk. Fortunately, Heath can carry him. I'm going to try and get that one more level for Raven while I'm at it, it's a very nice level. He needs to get promoted, his sword lock is a pain and he's not really contributing anything yet. Kent also gets strength and Sain speed on their next ones, but they don't gain enough exp to get to those.

Hector, Marcus, Kent, Sain, Lowen, Florina, Erk, Raven, Priscilla, Ninian, Hawkeye, Eliwood, Lyn, and Fiora were deployed. I promoted Lowen before the start of the chapter, because with fixed growths, I already know he's not getting any strength or speed in his remaining levels.. Not much to say about this since there's no turns to shave. This is really just self improvement for the most part. That aside, I did have 2 goals. The first was to make sure I got Kenneth's version of 27. That was rather simple, because I had over 500 exp worth of cushion for that, so it was safe to set Raven loose. The other was to get to the armory and buy Killers. Since it's stuck in Vaida's range, the only two options are to bait her away with someone or have a unit sit outside her range and rush in to an untimely death. The only unit I had that stood a chance against Vaida was Hawkeye on a peak, but he still got 3HKOd and would most likely not survive two turns. So I instead sacrificed Fiora and the Silver Card buying 20 Killer Lances and 15 Killing Edges and Axes. I also grabbed a few of the bow variant for Louise, then sold the card. I'll be fine without it, I still have 15k gold, Louise's White Gem, and now a Heaven Seal that probably won't get used. Fiora is a little more iffy, not sure if I'll need 3 fliers in a later chapter, but hopefully not. Pent did most of the fighting, baiting wyvern armies from a forest with Louise in range. I traded him a Thunder, no sense in wasting the Elfire. Marcus and Lowen built their C support, so now I have 2 supported mounted duos. Hector took a few wyverns out, though he needed help from Hawkeye since he 3HKOd them. Priscilla had Ninian's attention for the most part, getting in plenty of heals. Florina grabbed the Hammerne after fighting some bandits. Kent and Sain sat on the forts to fight wyvern reinforcements, and Raven went towards the southeast corner to fight those, with Erk to back him up. A wyvern ran away instead of suiciding on Raven on the last turn, so he was left with 93 exp.

Since Florina didn't get enough levels to be a strong combat unit, she needs help clearing the monks on the east side. To this end, Priscilla barriered Lowen, Florina rescued him, Serra traded and barriered her, then Ninian danced Florina. She dropped him on the far side, both of them with Javelins equipped. Erk led Raven in the south. Kent and Sain rescue dropped Hector closer to the front lines. Marcus brought up the rear, since he needed some help from Nini's Grace to handle the boss. On Enemy Phase, Lowen killed a bunch of monks, and got res on his level to replace the point he'd lose off the Barrier. Erk wiped out 2 pirates from his forest tile. There was some element of risk in Erk's section, since he gets 2HKOd by the stuff down there. However, with everything hitting under 20 display on forests, there wasn't much chance that he'd die before I could heal him. Ninian used Nini's Grace on Marcus, who moved into position to bait Pascal with his Hand Axe. The others advanced behind him. The healers were stuck towards the back because the ballista and pirates forced them to stay on forest tiles. Erk and Raven advanced again. The boss decided to use Purge on Florina for whatever reason, so she grabbed an Elixir off Lowen and moved into Javelin range of the bishop. Lowen took out the weakened peg, and demolished a bunch of monks again on Enemy Phase. Marcus weakened the boss and killed a bunch of cavs. Hector ran up and smacked the boss with his Wolf Beil, then Marcus Hand Axed him again. Sain came in to finish him off and take the kill, with hit rate help from his shiny new support with Kent. Ninian used Nini's Grace again from a forest tile, this time on Kent. He and Hector blocked off the incoming cav swarms. Florina killed a monk blocking Lowen's path to the Bishop, and Lowen snuck inside. She couldn't double that one with the Javelin, but it was in Iron Sword ORKO range, so Lowen simply reequipped her Javelin. This was the part that took the most practice, as I needed to get both Lowen and Florina inside the monk spawn points before I could kill the bishop. Erk had a risky part of his own, because even though the 6 pirates had around 16 display on him, if one of them hit, he would be put in OHKO range of the warrior. They all missed, but the Warrior ended up hitting. Kent fought two cavs and Hector took the rest, since Kent's spots were blocked when he didn't ORKO. The Bishop started attacking Lowen with Divine. On Turn 4, I had to do some careful positioning with Marcus's group. They were all at critical health, and needed either healing or another round of Nini's Grace to contribute. Priscilla ran up and healed Marcus, got danced, and healed Kent from a forest. Sain rescued Ninian, who could not get on a forest, and retreated a bit. He had his sword out because of the Hand Axe pirates loitering around. Kent killed one of the cavs he had weakened, and Hector took the other. With the path now cleared, Marcus charged right up into the cav group and killed one. Florina finished off the Halberd pirate she had weakened, and Lowen healed again. Erk tried to weaken the warrior for Raven, but he ended up critkilling him instead. That area was now clear of all enemies. A bunch of cavs suicided on Hector and a bunch of monks did the same on Lowen, who also brought the Bishop to 1 HP on his counter. To finish up, Erk conquered his castle. Lowen killed the bishop, and Florina killed a monk from her castle. Marcus was positioned underneath the middle fort with a cav blocking his way, but Hector and Kent couldn't kill it with their 2 range. The positioning was like this. C C C C M C Sain ran up to give his atk boost to Kent, and Kent killed the front right cav with a Horseslayer. Hector killed the one on the fort behind there, and Marcus went up and conquered the castle. This probably would have been easier with a properly trained Florina, but Lowen's not complaining after all that exp.
  6. It keeps them around average, but there are some minor changes. The stats go up based on the level of the character, not how many levels they already gained. That's why Hawkeye and Marcus both hit 12 speed going into level 5, even though Marcus had levels before that. The topic is here if you want to take a look at it. I got 532 experience from 23 as long as I didn't fail the math. Could have gotten some more if Hawkeye didn't kill the bosses, but probably not more than another 50. Maximizing exp gain while keeping the same turn count is something I have trouble with, although it usually doesn't matter too much. I gave Sain the Robe and Raven the Afa's Drops before the chapter started. Serra and Priscilla used the Torch staff, mainly for exp. Ninian used Nini's Grace on Marcus, who went up to the forts and killed a monk with a Javelin. Hector rescued Ninian to protect her from the wyverns. Erk killed the closer one of those, Hawkeye broke the snag, Kent and Sain went across, and Raven brought up the rear. Florina broke for the Earth Seal village, attacking a wyvern with a Javelin along the way. Lowen moved a bit after Marcus, in position to bait and kill the second Monk. Marcus drew Lloyd in on Enemy Phase, whacking him with a Javelin. Sain countered a Merc. The second wyvern went for Merlinus and the Purge bishop targeted Hector. My goal here was to draw the bishop off the forest tiles so Sain could ORKO him for good exp. Raven killed the weakened Merc, Hawkeye cleared a Merc off the armory, and Kent bought some Javelins and Hand Axes. Sain killed the Bishop using the Heavy Spear (only thing I had with more mt than Iron) and Florina grabbed the Earth Seal. Marcus broke his Silver Lance on Lloyd, Erk killed a wyvern, and Lowen took the boss kill.

I guess I'm lumping 23x in with 19xx in that it forces you to be inefficient in the chapter before it and is thus skipped, because there's no way to rack up 700 exp in such a short timeframe here. Although it's better to skip if from a turncount perspective, I just prefer to not skip parts of the game. I'm going to apologize in advance for any omissions in this log, because the amount of times I restarted due to stupid placements drove me insane. Hector, Marcus, Erk, Serra, Raven, Florina, Heath, and Legault were deployed. I promoted Erk and Florina before the beginning. Serra Barriered Heath, Legault lit a torch and grabbed the Ocean Seal, Erk moved a bit north to draw the wyverns, and Florina and Heath comboed an archer to start. Marcus went off solo on the east side, weakening an armor with his Hand Axe. On Enemy Phase, he killed that one, critkilled the other, and wiped out a bandit and the archer near Paul. Serra then healed Erk, who went west to wipe out another wyvern. Hector recruited Hawkeye, who took a defensive position next to the boss. Raven took another one. The boss went down on Turn 3 to a Hawkeye crit. Raven and Heath with the Axereaver would have taken him down if there was no crit. Florina killed a mage to clear Erk's path, and he continued west to draw another wyvern. Hawkeye baited Jasmine on Turn 4. He came down in range of Legault, who got the White Gem. Hawkeye pulled another crit to down this guy. Marcus continued his slaughter of all the stuff not in the sand. Erk finished the last southern wyvern, and one more of those and a mage suicided into Pent near the fort on Turn 5. Sorry for the lack of detail, this has just been a major headache.
  8. This still exists, just hit a snag and then I didn't feel like doing it. It will probably happen again, since I always hate the desert chapters. Anyway... Ninian took the most forward spot, and Marcus took the one that put his max move on the edge of her range. Priscilla barriered Marcus, who weakened an armor for Lowen to kill, and Erk took another one for himself. Ninian danced Marcus, and he proceeded to kill a nomad. This put him in a good spot for clearing space on Enemy Phase, which he did. Isadora moved down with a Javelin in front of Ninian to keep the Lancereaver cav off Marcus. She weakened a cav and a nomad on Enemy Phase, which were mopped up by Florina, who got danced. Everyone moved up as well as they could to clean up the scraps. Eliwood and Hector did a combo on the Lancereaver cav. Erk killed another armor, and Isadora finished off a weakened wyvern from Marcus. She blocked the east corridor. Kent wiped out a fighter to block the east doorway, then Lowen killed another. Sain killed a wywern in the west. Marcus went down south to kill an archer. Massive annihilation ensued on the Enemy Phase here. Marcus killed tons of mages without breaking a sweat. He did break a full 20 use Javelin though. Isadora slaughtered some wyverns with the Silver Sword. Probably not the most efficient use of it, but those things needed to die. Sain and Lyn retreated, and Hector approached because Heath was coming from the west. Isadora went down to help Marcus through the center, while Kent and Lowen did the same from the east hall. Lyn recruited Heath while Sain took the other wyvern on the west part. On Turn 4, Marcus took the Short Spear off Isadora and moved in to bait the boss. This is where he would have used the Elixer I packed him, except that he had somehow dodged every single hit that mattered. So I saved an Elixer use, for whatever good that does. Kent, Lowen, and Isadora took up defensive positions with Javelins to keep the hordes off Marcus. Erk also came down with a boost from Nini's Grace to draw some fire and rack up exp. Lyn recruited Rath, and everyone except my charging cavs regrouped to go after the Brave Axe. Hector weakened a Lancereaver cav and a Mage on Enemy Phase. Eliwood killed the cav, which was blocking the door to the thief, and Hector killed it. Florina finished off the mage and got refreshed to attack a cav for her level up. Marcus countered the boss, weakened the him again with a Silver Axe on Turn 5, and Kent killed him with the Longsword. I was hoping to give the kill to Lowen, but Isadora's weakening shot missed and he was left 1 mt short.

Thought about bringing Lowen, but the whole purpose of other units is simply to clear the path to the boss, and Lowen didn't have the offense the other do. Florina was deployed for self improvement, since I need her to hit level 10. I don't really need another Hero Crest, so no thieves here. Florina opens by visiting the Restore village, then flying up to fight the Monks with a Javelin. She's on her own for the chapter, countering both, then killing them on each of the two remaining turns. Eliwood heads down towards the Vendor with the Silver Card, since I'm well stocked on Javelins and Hand Axes. He baits two monks, and one is forced to attack him at melee range, which he kills. He chugs a Vulnerary on Turn 2, since the other was still alive, then shops on Turn 3. Marcus moved to the edge of Ninian's range and lit a Torch. She danced him, then he moved east to kill a Wyvern with an Iron Axe. Between the Monks and the Wyverns, it was obvious which was the greater threat. Kent and Sain carried Erk forward, Hector moved at his own pace. Erk was my best shot at killing the boss, so ferrying him took priority. Priscilla started in the south deployment slot, and moved just outside a peg's range to use the Torch staff. On Enemy Phase, Marcus killed the wyverns, but left the monks untouched. That was fine, since almost anyone can kill those idiots. Erk counterkilled a wyvern, taking damage in the process. Priscilla healed him on Player Phase, then got danced by Ninian, and healed Kent. He had taken fire from a monk, and he needed to be healthy to back Marcus up. Hector got the offending monk. Kent and Sain each killed a monk of their own, and Erk weakened another. Marcus parked in front of two brigands and killed another wyvern. This enabled him to lure the boss, who attacked with a Steel Bow. He also killed the two brigands, clearing a path to Oleg. With the path clear, Marcus attacked Oleg with the Silver Lance. He was almost dead, but he wasn't getting countered with the bow out. Priscilla used the Torch staff for exp, Kent got the Elysian Whip, Sain got the Wyrmslayer, Hector whacked a wyvern, and Erk killed the boss.

I was originally planning to actually get Florina some exp to make her a decent fighter, but she just doesn't have good enough combat to make the cut unless I need her to fly. I'm going to have to push to get her to level 10 and slap a promotion on her for 23. Hopefully that will be enough there. Since this is efficiency, I had to leave most of the treasure. Fortunately, the Guiding Ring was something Legault got, so I do have the most important piece of it. Hector wiped out the first knight and blocked off the other two. Marcus blitzed as usual, and the cav trio led his backup squad. The swarms of mounted units formed a roadblock in here that took a few turns to clear through. Marcus had weakened the Paladin on Enemy Phase, so Hector had it in OHKO range with Wolf Beil. Sain OHKOd a nomad with the Longsword. He was borderline on those, but Marcus was still free to take one with the Silver Lance. Uses are running really low on that, but it's had a good life. Marcus has the rank for the Silver Axe, so he can have that later. Raven also got some ORKOs in on nomads, but he was a bit short on cavs yet. Erk stayed behind to seal off the Mage reinforcements. He did that through the boss kill, then wiped out an Archer to finish his level. Serra healed him since she couldn't keep up. On Turn 4, my focus was clearing a path for Marcus and Kent, who was carrying a Door Key. Kent opened the door on Turn 5, then moved out of the way. Matthew needed to occupy that space in front of the door so he could steal the Member Card next turn. A rescue drop from Hector and Raven got him there, as the space was one outside his range. Marcus took the spot 2 squares ahead with his Javelin equipped, and ORKOd the shamans on Enemy Phase. Next Player Phase, Matthew got up to steal the Member Card. Lowen and Sain charged in and killed a fighter each, which gave some more breathing room. The boss took a bit of figuring. It was a lot safer to kill him in one turn since he could 2HKO almost everyone. Kent started the attack with the Heavy Spear, and Marcus struck with the Silver Lance. Hector was outside the seize range and I still had to get Legault, so I didn't feel guilty about him killing Darin. Lyn moved in so she could recruit Legault on the next turn, and then did. I hadn't killed the other thieves, so Matthew and Legault each stole a Chest Key. Those will probably help somewhere down the road. Everyone killed what they could for exp, and Hector seized to end the chapter. I finally managed to get him good exp for this chapter. He was lagging in levels compared to where I thought he should be, probably because I fed Eliwood too many kills only to drop him. I was hoping to get to the closer Secret Shop for Physics, but that won't be happening it seems. I'm also debating if I should promote Erk now or wait a bit longer. His AS seems to be pretty good, and in all likelihood he won't be worth a spot once Pent shows up with his cool staves. Getting more use out of him now would be great, but he'll have a lot of work to do in 23, and his attack will have to be up to the task.

I didn't need Priscilla much, but someone had to heal Marcus after he wiped out tons of mages, and she was still useful for ferrying after that. The original plan was to have Florina sneak through the enemy lines and drop Hector to wipe out hordes of armors. However, I was off a turn on Kishuna's appearance, which meant Hector would get mobbed by mages and die. So that plan failed miserably. Raven moved on the farthest mountains he could to kill the pegs in the north. I already had Hector and Matthew to ferry along, and someone had to take them out so I didn't get mobbed. Marcus nuked a Mage at the end of his movement range with his Javelin, and everyone followed along. It was really a continuation of the "Marcus blitzes, everyone cleans up after him" that has been the standard to this point. Priscilla healed him, and then Marcus was off again. Kent was able to ORKO the mages with an Iron Lance, which was a very useful attribute to have. Since Marcus had a Javelin to kill Mages, he couldn't quite ORKO the knights around the forts, so there was some cleanup there. Marcus, Hector, and any cav with the Heavy Spear could ORKO those knights swarming around the boss. The mages were pretty much left alone. They did sneak outside the seal for some attacks, but after that, they were out of the way. Marcus weakened the boss with an Iron Axe, as Matthew wasn't in range to steal just yet. Kent ran up and whacked a Sniper for some exp. Hector killed an armor while positioning himself to seize. On Turn 7, Marcus moved out of the way and attacked with a Javelin, putting the boss in critical HP. Matthew stole the Silver Card, Sain rescued him, then Kent took the kill. Lowen whacked a sniper, and Hector seized.

I thought about bringing Lyn for the boss, but I realized there wouldn't be time to get her down to fight, and that it would be all Marcus as usual. Matthew lit a Torch, making sure to stay out of the peg's range, and Dart sat on the forest on the edge of its range to weaken it. Erk went south, parked on a fort, and ORKOd a cav. He actually ORKOd all the enemies in that southern area, proving effective as usual. Oswin blocked the north bridge with a Javelin, and Lowen did the same 2 squares behind him. On Enemy Phase, a Pirate attacked Lowen while a peg suicided into him. Oswin took out the other pegs and weakened the nomads with Javelin counters, missing one. On Turn 2, Serra healed Lowen, who killed the Pirate that went after him. Oswin stabbed the healthy nomad with his Horseslayer, ORKOing. Fiora killed the other one when she arrived, and was then sent back to fight pirate reinforcements after getting recruited. Lowen used a Javelin to ORKO all the peg reinforcements that appeared. Fiora, Florina, and Erk once he was done, worked together to wipe out the Pirate reinforcements. Sain got the main group moving by breaking the snag. Marcus charged onto the center island with a Javelin, and everyone else followed along. He killed some cavs and nomads to clear some space on Enemy Phase. Kent and Sain combined to take out the Longbow nomad, Raven and Marcus each killed a pirate. After Marcus wiped more enemies out, Kent and Sain comboed on another nomad, while Raven and Hector formed a wall to keep Priscilla safe. On Turn 4, Marcus got the Torch staff off the thief, and put himself in range to attack Uhai on the next turn. Hector OHKOd a nomad, and Kent, Sain, and Raven continued cleanup. Marcus countered the myrm with his Silver Lance, since that thing had tons of health and needed to die, since it was in the way. Sain killed a nomad with the Longsword, Raven and Hector took some others, and Kent took out that myrm, clearing Marcus's way to the boss. This part did require some luck. Marcus faces Uhai while his Killing Edge is out. This means Marcus's hit rates with his Silver Lance are just fine, but he had to avoid 26% crit rates twice. My other fighters were able to keep most of the remaining enemies off of him, barring one nomad that could not kill Marcus. On Turn 6, everyone got what exp they could, and Marcus killed the boss.

I did several runthroughs of this, attempting to manage a 3 turn completion and still get the Guiding Ring. The plan was to have Florina carry Matthew down and drop him in the boss's range on Turn 2, while Marcus blitzed his own way down. That part worked fine. The part that didn't work is that even while maxing Marcus's move, he could not get 2 squares in front of where I needed to drop Matthew, which meant one of the Shamans in front of the boss would go for Matthew instead of suiciding on Marcus. And since it seems the Nosferatu one moves before his Flux buddy, he's the one in the way. Florina was a long way off from ORKOing him, which is what would have needed to happen to make this work. So no Guiding Ring. I'll have to make sure to get the one in 20, or Erk and Priscilla will be waiting a long time. Erk and Kent combined to kill one merc, while Oswin and Sain comboed another. Marcus charged down and annihilated a shaman. Everyone relevant had Javelins for Enemy Phase, and did some clearing out. Marcus wiped out some more shamans and an archer, but a Merc ends up blocking his path. Hector weakens then kills one peg, while Matthew steals the Elysian Whip off the other. Erk finishes the Merc in Marcus's way, and Kent rescues him back to safety. Marcus gets closer to the boss and uses a Vulnerary. The southern rush of pegs decides to suicide on Sain, while Oswin continues to block the merc group. The Elysian Whip peg takes a shot at Priscilla, who was placed to draw that one away from Sain. Don't want him getting killed, after all. Everyone takes what kills they can on Turn 3. Kent missed because he was still carrying Erk, but that didn't matter much. Matthew did some shopping to replenish my supply of 1-2 range weapons, then Marcus killed the boss.
  14. As expected, your turncounts make me wonder why I bothered putting "efficiency" on mine, especially looking at my 13 and 16. I was really pleased with my 14 though, but the extra exp from taking 13x may have contributed a bit to that one. Good luck with your run.
  15. Well, that makes things a lot easier. It's probably bad that I never got that chapter before, but that will change this time. Sorry Eliwood and Lyn, you don't make the cut. Lyn is Lyn, and it's getting tough to feed Eliwood enough kills to get him where he needs to be because his combat's still bad and he's not mounted. As for Kenneth's map, I was hoping to get there. The axers are done, and with Raven around, I don't really need Guy anymore. So hopefully between Erk, Priscilla, and a bit of Serra, I can make up the gap. Oswin was deployed for walling, Priscilla for healing, Raven for some exp, Erk to counter that gain, and obviously Florina. She went off solo towards Fargus, visiting the house for Canas and the Short Bow. Raven broke north to kill all the pirates for some decent exp gains. Oswin took the lead in the south, followed by the others. Oswin countered the Swordslayer and Halberd pirates on Enemy Phase. Erk killed the Halberd one, Oswin finished the Swordslayer one. Hector moved down below Oswin to bait the boss with his Wolf Beil, and Priscilla took his spot to heal Oswin. The enemies charged, and the boss was weakened. A pirate blocked the other square adjacent to the boss, so Erk killed that one. Oswin weakened him again with Horseslayer, and Hector killed. Florina talked to Fargus and ended it. I'm also grabbing the enemy stats for this chapter, in case anyone needs them for a debate or something.

Eliwood is probably not optimal in a lot of these chapters, but he needs exp so I can get 24 Linus. Even if it ends up costing me a turn or two, the difference in those chapters should make it up. Since this is a very large chapter, I need more mounts to do rescue chains, so Oswin and Serra get the boot again. Florina could have been deployed, but with over half of the enemies wielding bows and no flight advantages, I decided it wasn't worth it. I gave Kent the Dragonshield from Chapter 15 in battle prep. The trickiest part of this was actually getting the proper first turn setup. Eventually, I made my goal to kill the farthest Archer I could with Marcus, and worked with that. Erk demolished the armor, Guy and Kent combined to kill the myrm, Sain and Lowen took the Merc, then Marcus rushed up to kill an archer. This took a few tries to get the positioning right and for the RNG to cooperate (I had a few 86 display misses from Lowen that threw things off). The positioning had to end up with Kent able to enter the far square of the Shaman's range, as he was the only one who could ORKO the shaman with a Javelin (besides Marcus, but he was busy). On Turn 2, Marcus broke ranks and charged right at them, with Lowen close behind. Hector OHKOd the nomad with Wolf Beil, Erk took an archer, and Guy weakened one with an Iron Blade for Eliwood. Kent ORKOd the final entrance archer with a Javelin, and did the same thing to the Shaman on Enemy Phase, leaving Matthew free to loot the treasure. Marcus led the way for the rest of it, parking on the last square of the long hallway west with a Hand Axe to kill the masses of enemies. Priscilla was in range to recruit Raven on Turn 5, and did so. At that point, Marcus was in range to stop the enemy thieves, but since I couldn't afford to wait for Matthew, I needed one to get me the Knight Crest. One suicided onto Marcus, the other opened the door. Kent was behind, so he carried people like Erk and Hector back towards the front. Marcus killed the knight outside the throne room, the mage, and one more knight inside before Kent got up with Hector. Lowen took out the thief and got the Knight Crest, while everyone else piled into the room with the archers to salvage some exp. Marcus had the Hammer, so he killed the other Knight and tried to ORKO the boss. He missed one hit, but since Hector was too far away, it didn't cost a turn, and the kill and seize were done on Turn 10. Merlinus died somewhere in there, but no one cares about him. Marcus now has 12 speed, which will be nice to have. Erk continues to be great for ORKOing stuff, although I'd imagine Kent would be too if he got the ring instead of Erk. I am getting concerned with the levels on my Lords, since I'm still a long way from 50 combined. At this rate, I can't even count on Hector getting to 20, which will make getting the easier 24 a bit of a challenge. Still waiting on Eliwood to be useful.

There was a lot of ground to cover in this chapter, and Oswin would lag behind. To start, Wil went to the left armory and stocked up on swords and axes. This put him in range of a Javelin Peg, which he could counter and 2HKO. Kent went to the other Armory. Sain moved in range of the first merc to counter. Everyone in the north charged towards combat, with a rescue drop from Marcus and Lowen used to get Hector a little farther. Florina went towards the village, but she helped with the initial rush first. Kent ORKOd one peg in the south and Wil finished the other. Sain moved in to counter the Brigand near the village, while Lyn moved in to finish the Myrm that Kent would fight on Enemy Phase. When the fighting was done, Kent and Sain ran north to join the main force, while Lyn stayed behind to get exp off the bandit reinforcements. Marcus led the way as usual, obliterating the group of four cavs on Enemy Phase. He took a lot of damage from all the enemies, so Priscilla had to go up and heal him. This led to a scramble to kill everything in sight, as the ballista + any enemy would certainly kill her. Erk was really nice to have in this section, because no one else could compare to his excellent 2 range and speed. Marcus waited by the forts, countered some more stuff, and everyone advanced. Once it was clear the ballista could be handled, Florina entered the fray. Kent and Sain caught the tail end of this, and killed a merc each. For the boss, Marcus weakened with a Hand Axe, and Lowen parked next to him with the Heavy spear. He missed on his turn 7 counter, but Hector wasn't at the throne yet anyway. Erk weakened the boss again, and Lowen hit the second time. The backup plan, in case he missed twice (it waa only 53 display) was to have Marcus kill him with the Hand Axe. Fortunately, he didn't have to. Right before the Seize, Lyn visited the vendor to grab me some Door Keys.

My guess is that Serra, who is already lagging in levels, will only get in a worse predicament due to her inferior mobility, so I opted to bring only Priscilla. Marcus baited a Longbow from the boss. Guy went towards the north entrance, everyone else went south. On Turn 2, Marcus ORKOd the boss with a Hand Axe (Nice job weighing yourself down, buddy.) From there, the reinforcements were stopped, and everything was simple. Matthew stole the lockpick before the thief was killed, and everyone mopped up the remaining enemies. Hector and Eliwood got a good amount of support points built up. I wasn't counting, but they be reasonably close to B. As for most of the other supports... They will be difficult to make happen. Maybe if I got Lowen down a little more it could have been done, but I needed him in other places for most of the fight. It shouldn't matter too much, since I can buy weapons at the beginning of Chapter 16, I can make what I have last. I did manage to get to the shop, and bought 3 Heal staves and a Fire tome. To start, Lowen charged out and ORKOd a soldier. Marcus went right to the center of the enemy mass and attacked a merc with a Javelin. Oswin stayed behind to kills the soldiers and knight, and Dorcas stayed to help him with the pegs. Everyone else moved out as far as they could. On enemy phase, the weakened merc suicided on Lowen, and Marcus killed a lot of stuff with his Javelin. Serra recruited Erk on Turn 2, and he was put to work killing a knight. Most of my units were put to work killing the weakened scraps of the enemy force. I had a small problem when Lowen missed a hit, but Guy was in the area to finish the kill. Marcus went into the far corner of Erik's range and killed a soldier with an Iron Axe. While Erik does have a Horseslayer, 11 damage wasn't going to scare Marcus off. He ended up missing, but it wouldn't have mattered if he hit. Eliwood chopped the remaining 2 health off the boss on Turn 3 for some easy exp, Hector and Erk positioned for support, and Marcus blitzed even farther towards the castle. He weakened a myrm with a Javelin, but I forgot he had a Vulnerary, and he went off to heal. Guy led the way south, followed by Bartre and Matthew. Marcus wiped everything else out on the next Enemy Phase except a nomad, that myrm, and a bandit that was still on the mountains. Guy had counterkilled one pirate, then got the other. He obliterated both his Killing Edge and one enemy cav on Enemy Phase of Turn 4, leaving just one for him, Lowen, Matthew, and Bartre to deal with. They managed easily enough, and despite the rain, Bartre got to the vendor. Marcus wiped out the Myrm with an attack, positioned himself to counterkill the Bandit, and then ended the chapter with a strike to the last nomad. It feels good to have beaten Erik's unheeded call for reinforcements. Poor guy never got to ask, since Marcus dominated everything in sight.

So I don't have 5000 gold, but with the Red Gem still unsold, and a Goddess Icon coming up, I should be good on funds. It's not ranked, I can afford to buy what I need.To start, Bartre took Merlinus. I needed everyone useful to not get their stats cut, so he got the job. Matthew lit a torch and moved towards the center. Eliwood attacked an archer to get a really nice level, Marcus weakened a myrm on the eastern bridge for Lowen to kill with a Javelin, and Guy sat at the south bridge with his Killing Edge out to counterkill a bandit. On my next turn, Oswin was able to get to the west snag and shut off that group of enemies, finally leveling up in the process. Since Marcus can't go to the village because I need him for Puzon, this part is a lot more relaxed. Guy just kept killing stuff on Player Phase in the south, which required a lot of killer uses but gave me some leeway. I made sure to use Hector's ability to OHKO nomads whenever it was safe to do so. Marcus mainly weakened enemies for Lowen and Eliwood, with Dorcas adding chip from a Hand Axe. The biggest problem was protecting Serra, and there were times when I couldn't get her where I wanted because of Nomads or bandits with 1-2 range. Marcus countered Puzon on Enemy Phase of Turn 6. He was then weakened, but some other enemies had to be mopped up so no one important died. Marcus then took the boss kill.

The rest of it will have to wait, but the Hand Axe had 2 uses and I wanted to conserve his Wolf Beil. Bartre baited the two closest pegs, and he and Dorcas killed them on Turn 2. Everyone besides those two went south, with Marcus in the lead. He killed the peg that attacked, leaving another peg, an archer, and a bandit for everyone to clean up. The enemy density in the southern part posed a problem, since I lacked 1-2 range (the axers needed a Hand Axe to fight the pegs and cav, and the other one was broken). Marcus parked on the fort to bait most of the enemies, killing one with the last uses of Hector's Hand Axe. To get Guy, Marcus baited him. Things could have gotten ugly if Guy scored a crit, but he fortunately did not. Matthew then recruited him, and he was immediately put to work clearing the forts. Lowen and Hector sat on the forts after the enemies were dead to stop the reinforcements, and when they moved on, Rebecca and Matthew took over. The cavs by the boss were a bit of a problem, especially the ones Marcus couldn't double. Despite having the Rapier, Eliwood was still not much use with them, as he still needed help to kill one Marcus weakened. He was quite challenging to find kills for. Guy, on the other hand, was quite useful. To stop the reinforcements, I attacked the boss with Marcus and his Silver Lance, rescued him with Lowen, then finished with Hector. I didn't want to kill with Hector because that pushed the seize back a turn, but it was better than getting killed by the reinforcements. I was only able to get to one shop, so I chose the Armory and bought some Javelins and a Hand Axe. Serra's Heal staff will have to last, but that shouldn't be too much of a problem with the limited time she has to heal stuff.
  24. Thanks for the tips. I didn't even think about dropping Lucius for Chapter 7, so I sent Florina solo. It would have been quicker, except she had to kill the other Shaman first for a level to get the speed to double. Probably won't fix them this time, since I'm more concerned with HHM, but I'll keep those in mind for the future. Hector and Oswin wipe out the nearest Peg, and this leaves them well positioned to counter the others. Hector counters an archer with his Hand Axe, putting it in ORKO range for Matthew. Matthew lures the bandit, with Serra nearby to heal. He kills the Archer later, and was supposed to fight the Merc, but a hit from Hector at 11 display solved that. So much for the mountain. Total fluke, and not necessary, but it was kind of funny. In the south, Dorcas grabs the fort and Marcus took the square underneath. Rebecca got and sold the Secret Book, since I needed cash and Matthew was fighting, unable to sell the Red Gem. The Peg and Brigand go after Dorcas, and both are weakened for Eliwood and Lowen. Marcus then grabs the fort and wipes out another bandit, and the remaining enemies were cleaned up by a combination. Marcus took the boss kill on Enemy Phase of Turn 5.
  25. Chapter 11 8/8 turns Unit Level HP Str Skl Spd Lck Def Res Hector 3.20 21 8 5 6 3 9 0 Matthew 4.63 19 5 5 12 3 3 0 Pretty straightforward here. Hector and Matthew combined to break the wall on Turn 1, and they went west from there. Hector took all the kills that he could, since in order to 2HKO the boss with Wolf Beil, he had to proc Strength before the fight. Fortunately in fixed growths, that is guaranteed at level 2. Matthew unlocked the far door and then came back to steal the Red Gem off the thief. No lockpick, unfortunately, but it won't be too bad. Hector moved into the boss's range on Turn 7 and chugged a Vulnerary. He countered, then killed on Player Phase. A 7 turn clear would be possible, but Hector would have had to dodge both of Wire's hits. He was being chased by an Archer, and if he had attacked instead of healed, Hector would be 2HKOd by a combination of the archer and boss.
