I'd need a cooking scale that does grams, and ideally would convert to ounces for certain recipes. I can usually get away with eyeballing it for casual cooking projects (like my dinner), but having grams is really helpful for things like baking bread. Or pancakes (which I'll get around to. . .one day).
Yep. As long as you don't care on size (it's about 7in. x 7.5in.), it's a mini scale by Taylor. The one I have has a timer, tare/zero, and can switch to units of lb./oz. and grams. Online says it's about $20 but can only hold about 7 lb. If that'll be sufficient, it's relatively cheap.
When I came to America I had to learn Imperial system and it was like the weirdest thing ever like why is everything in a conversion factor that doesn't make sense and hard to remember

I can only imagine. I mean, I suck at imperial as is and judge distance poorly. The only thing I can convert quickly enough is Fahrenheit to Celsius, though without decimals.

Sorry, but not everyone will accept it because I won't accept it for anything more than science and food labels.
And yes, eclipse, but saying 200 grams of flour is sillier than saying one cup of flour. If metric can come up with a better alternative, then we'll talk more here.
And alcohol. Which is not in fluid ounces. Also Celsius. Celsius is used in metric/science and is very critical to everyday life. I try to make sure to include "degrees F[ahrenheit]) in conversations suspect of having non-American people because "86 degrees" means death in Celsius. And if one thinks critically, using Celsius makes more sense since 0 degrees Celsius is the point of water freezing and 100 degrees Celsius is the point of water boiling. Very simple to remember. (I still have yet to master doing the calculations in my head, though).
I don't see how saying 200 grams is inherently "sillier" than some arbitrary measurement called a "cup." What is a "cup" when we have glasses... or "cups"? Why is a "quart" called a "quart"? A fourth of a "gallon"? Equal to two "pints"? After a while, even I find these terms "silly" than just using a more universal unit. Is it that much better when someone says "10 stones," or whatever was that unit said before in this thread?
Yeah, mass is generally more accurate than volume, but then you have to have a scale handy. I don't even have a scale in my kitchen, but I have lots of measuring cups. Although, that may speak more on my mediocre cooking skills. :P
There's also the fact that scales are lot tougher to clean and all sorts of debris can grime up to calibration.
Speaking from being in many labs myself, I don't see how scales can get that dirty if what one is trying to weigh is on a clean plate or bowl. I have a mini scale with a tare function and a glass top and it remains relatively spot-free. Of course, the bottom of a plate or bowl might catch something from sitting on a counter top, but that's why we clean the scale and make sure nothing slips through the cracks of the machine.
(Eclipse beat me to the point but, yeah, just do things that'll keep the scale clean, like plastic wrap or clean containers and then tare/zero out).
A big size, good measuring cup should have both imperial and metric units on it. Do you mean those or the separate "cups" like 1 cup, 1/2 cup, 3/4 cup, etc.?
FTR, I need to pick up a scale (I've used someone else's scale instead). I haven't had a serious baking project, but if I do, that's my first purchase.
How big of a scale would you need? My mini one was like $14-$20 but I don't do baking projects or bake more than just a single fish.
I'm an American but I'm honestly bad at both systems. I'd still rather learn metric because of its practicality and universality --but I don't see why we can't learn both if we're going to argue here. If we can apparently get down-pat that 12 "inches" is a "foot" and three "feet" to a "yard," don't know why multiplying or dividing by 10, 100, or 1000 should be that much difficult.

If you consider Zeiss, he's pretty easy to train in Ilia route. I think he could be the closest to a traditional Est you get since he's coming around the time almost all of your units should be promoted. His Speed's slightly low both in base and growth but he's the heavy hitting tank version of Milady (if you can somehow believe that).
Fae's okay. Make sure not to break her Dragonstone because she's required for the true ending. Breaking it won't lock you out of the true ending or anything but she becomes pure deadweight if that happens. Needless to say, don't let her get killed either.

Yeah, there are no droppables in this game. Make sure to stop/kill a Thief from stealing so it won't get away with valuable weapons.
The legendary weapons are effective to dragons and wyverns and are all around pretty accurate. They can be helpful to specific maps where you either need the extra power or are rife with wyverns.
Thankfully, those three aren't required for gaidens.
There's a few characters that you have to keep alive that are recruited before the gaiden-yielding chapter, so resetting for deaths in general is best if you want to try to go in as blind as possible. Also, the characters that unlock gaidens don't need to be deployed; just alive by the time you reach the chapter that yields a gaiden.
Something important to keep in mind: none of the gaidens have reinforcements. Feel free to take your time with them.

Most legendary weapon gaidens have turn limits and all need specific characters alive. Chapters 8 and 16 don't have turn limits. At least there's that leniency for them since
Lilina is fragile and Douglas is not someone you would possibly guess your first time through--like recruiting Perceval

If you're the type to reset for any deaths, it's definitely easier. In my first time blind, I managed to get all gaidens (with a little hint for 16), so the turn limits are also pretty lenient. For an easier time, you still want to train Shanna/Thany and/or Tate more than Sue and/or Shin because 20x for the route Sue and/or Shin give is literally random.

How are the Pegasus knights and fighters in this game?
I'm on chapter 4 and I already have shanna, lot and the other fighter guy (sorry I forgot his name), Are they good units?
I also want to know if lugh and the cleric (forgot her name too sorry) are worth keeping Because I was considering swapping lugh out for Lilina and his brother and the cleric with the troubadour (I don't know the names of any one in this game).
Also on an unrelated note the growth rates in this game aren't really doing me. I mean I don't expect everyone to have donnel tier growths but 30% mag growth on a cleric...
It really depends if Shanna will give you Strength. With 30% Strength growth and a low base, it's really a coin-toss if she'll end up good or not. She's at least useful earlygame for flier and Rescue-Drop strats. If your Shanna ends up bad by 11A/10B, consider using her sister Tate, who has better combat growths. Her bases will be low if you trained Shanna but she has a more reliable Strength stat.
Lot and Wade are bad. Very slow and stuck on inaccurate axes until promotion. Lot is the better of the two but he is strange in that he has a 30% Strength growth. His highest stat growth (barring HP) is actually Defense at 40%, which is the same as Barth's who's a Knight. Take that as you will.
Lugh is a speedy Mage but also a coin-toss for Magic. If you get unlucky with his 40% Magic growth, there's still Lilina at Chapter 8... but she comes at Level 1 and has Speed issues (if you played FE10, she's Micaiah basically). For convenience, Lugh's the better one, though I've done Lilina two times and she was good in my first playthrough. Got lucky with Speed.
Elen will get outclassed by either Clarine (low Magic but dodgetank) or Saul (good Magic and decent Speed). She's at least useful for when you get her.
Never played with Raigh. Kind of arrived late for my tastes as a magic user. I guess he can be useful for Eclipse. Eclipse is bad for enemies but it can bring 100HP walls down to 1HP. Though he doesn't start with the base Dark rank for it. Guess the Arena in Chapter 13 can help him build the Dark rank and net some money if you want to try Eclipse wall-smashing
By the by, ranks build slow in this game. Unless you're really dedicated to someone, you're likely not going to get S casually with someone for Light that's not Yoder. 50 Wexp each rank and 1 Wexp each use for any weapon is awful. Fatal hits will still give 2 Wexp though.
Who would be the better rejuvenating unit. The dancer or the bard? The bard has better defence but the dancer has better speed so I'm not sure.
Also i want to use Sophia but everyone is telling me not to use her. Is she that bad? I thought she'd be similar to Nino in a way.
Lalum's route is better and she herself is good. I'd go with the dodgetank over the defense one anyways.
She's bad. Like pretty bad. It doesn't help that her low bases start her in a Fog of War desert chapter rife with Mages that can kill her even in Normal mode (she's weighed down by 2 because of Flux) and Wyvern Riders. If you go too quickly with her without clearing the top-right area, Mercenaries will also kill her; if you're too slow, reinforcements come from where you start. Not to mention the other things hiding in the desert...
Nino can at least use Afa's Drops and use the lighter Anima tomes. Sophia can barely if anything get into magic combat and come out living. Her growths are not as good as Nino's.
If you want to use her, you could try for her to feast on the reinforcements that come from where you start some turns in. Two boss Berserkers and the rest are Brigands with either direct-combat axes or Hand Axes. Dedicate a few units to soften up some Brigands while she takes the kills. You probably want a couple units to also Rescue-Drop her away from Hand Axe Brigands after she's done.
