  1. 1. Do you think playable officers being attached to their horses would be a good idea for mainline Warriors games to do (like if DW10 made Ma Chao a full-time cavalry unit, for example)?

    2. How much does the lack of WTA affect units like Takumi, Robin and Elise?

    3. Are there any enemies in the game you found you had to absolutely use a unit with an effective weapon to fight, lest you be KO'd?

Anyone who thinks this was a success is deluding themselves. 60 k is absolutely abysmal.

Some would say it's also deluding oneself to think a game's sales were "absolutely abysmal" just because they think a vocal minority is the entirety of a fanbase. ?

FEW didn't make record-breaking sales, who cares. A hundred thousand copies sold is pretty much reserved for the most promoted and esteemed IPs. "Absolutely abysmal" would be like a thousand copies.

60 thousand is a lot, better than some Warriors first week sales (like Berserk). Hell, imagine 60 thousand anythings in a room with you and try to tell me it isn't a lot.

We've had enough negativity surrounding this game. It's out now, people are enjoying it, let the hate rest.

So here's Hoshido Noble M!Corrin and honestly, he's fucking beautiful.

Wow, that's awesome. I was hoping he'd get Hoshido Noble, was scared for a bit that they'd just cut corners and give him Nohr Noble.

Has Elise's promotion been posted like that yet?

Sword: Corrins, yellow twins, that guy, Xander, Ryoma, Chrom, Lucina, Marth- 10

Lances: Hinoka, Cordelia, Azura (?)- 3

    Axes: Lissa, Fred, Camilla- 3

    Tomes: Robins, Leo, Elise-  4

    Bows: Takumi, Sakura- 2

Well the weapon variation isn't too bad (<50% swords) but I hope they don't add anymore swordsmen to the game.

    inb4 Ogma and Navarre

  5. Here are my all-new predictions (bracketed choices are my runner-ups):

    Shadow Dragon:

Marth, Tiki, Caeda, Draug, Minerva, Jeorge, Merric, Linde, Camus, Gharnef

    (Gordin? Jagen? Hardin? Ogma?)

    Awakening:

Chrom, Robin, Lissa, Frederick, Lucina, Cordelia, Nowi, Virion, Tharja, Gangrel, Walhart, Validar

(Panne? Cherche? Gaius? Basilio? Olivia pls?)

    Fates:

Corrin, Xander, Camilla, Leo, Ryoma, Hinoka, Takumi, Azura, Effie, Subaki, Garon

(Charlotte? Oboro? Niles? Awakening Trio? Iago? Hanz?)

With the OCs, that's around 35 characters, which fits with the proposed roster size.

  6. It's weird they leave Ike out of a game literally about fighting for your friends, but what can you do.

Though, Awakening had the word "Bonds" pasted all over the place, so maybe the power of friendship has been a key FE trope in the new generation this whole time and we just haven't noticed it? :^)

I don't think it's too bad, myself, but I'm pretty hard to make cringe anyway, so I'm probably just immune.

Also knives appeared under the sword tab in Path of Radiance so I don't think that they are outright unconfirmed, they could have just as easily wanted 5 tabs on the screen for the sake of presentation or just that knives are very minor weapons in FEW like in PoR, that is just a possibility though. I feel like there are not many primary knife users in fates to begin with so they may not have knives under a dedicated tab for that reason.

If knives (or hidden weapons, I guess?) were in FEW, it'd only be for Jakob/Felicia, or a ninja. The Thief class of enemy in FEW allegedly uses swords, like Gaius or Julian did, so adding knives and not having the generic class use them, that'd be odd, no?

I mean, I'd love for Kaze or Flora to be playable, but as it stands right now, I can't see a reasonable excuse for including knives. Though, if they are in, I will be pleasantly surprised, especially if they belong to someone like Gaius (though my personal hope is that Gaius is added as an Archer-Thief, like Niles, and he uses throwing knives in his moveset).

What if Sakura, Elise and Azura are just assists?

Assists would be fine with me (like SW2 Bodyguards?), heck at this point, I'm really fine with anything, but I feel Azura would be a necessity, as she's one of rare lance infantry. In the case that Donnel, Mozu or Oboro don't show up, she's the only unit with those qualifications, unless they're counting Armor as infantry too, in which case Draug might fill that spot (he might be in anyways, as far as we know).

Leo's still Max Mittleman. Kinda weird how he's the only one who's stayed the same. Takumi's Michael Sinterniklaas, who did him Heroes. Hinoka also seems to have her Heroes VA, Cindy Robinson. Camilla sounds like neither Paula Tiso or Misty Lee... .

Why are they so phobic about showing actual gameplay in trailers?

Gah, only another 2 hours until I can actually watch the video. I wanna hear these voices! By the by, anyone else here prefer Sinterniklaas as Takumi over Rose? I'm on the fence with who I like more as Niles, but Sinterniklaas sounds really good as Takumi to me, in Heroes at least (I don't even have him yet).

I'm confused. I haven't played any Warriors games besides Hyrule Warriors, though.

I'm still lost as to how Sakura and Elise are perfect as NPC's. They'd make really diverse characters to play as!

They would, but so would've most of the characters I mentioned above. By perfect, I meant they're not explicitly battle-ready, even less so than Lissa. Whatever purpose they could fill, they can easily do it through in-battle dialogue, if need be.

The only other chance they have to be playable is in a reveal with Azura. Otherwise, I think NPC is what they'll be heading for.

  10. 11 minutes ago, Pokechu said:

I wouldn't think that they're a perfect fit. They have relations with many other characters, which was a criteria when they decided on the roster. They're also very popular (Shoot, the little sisters are more popular than Lissa!) and Elise is plot relevant, and they're already more important than other characters because they're royals. If they can give Lissa an axe, I don't see why Elise and Sakura would be best as NPC's. Plus we wouldn't be able to have a mounted healer w/o Elise (no one's asking for Maribelle LOL) and Sakura could have some scroll moves while being a bow user; they'd both be pretty unique.

Compare to the likes of Ramba Ral, Kai Shiden, Fa Yuiry or Yazan Gable not being playable, but NPCs with unique mobile suits (except Fa), in DWG1. Or Pippin, Isidro, Skull Knight, or Mozgus being NPCs (even when SK has a unique moveset!) in Berserk.

Being a Warriors NPC isn't too bad.

@Jedi, do Warriors games normally do NPCs? Don't actually remember Hyrule having any, come to think of it...

Warriors games are typically 97% NPCs. Samurai Warriors 4 had ~50 playable characters and around 900 named NPCs.

Hyrule Warriors didn't have any NPCs, but other collabs, like Gundam and Berserk, were filled to the brim with them, being about a 1:8 ratio of playable characters to NPCs. Not sure if FEW will get this treatment, but if it already confirmed NPCs in a twitter post a few weeks back, I'd say we'll be getting a few, and Elise/Sakura would fit right in.

Do we even know which day are they showing off FE Warriors at Gamescon?

I thought I saw somewhere that it's the 23rd, but I have nothing to back that up. It would cooncide with Famitsu releasing though.

I also think it would be a great idea to release a demo, but I doubt that is in the cards at this point.

Aw, a demo would be fantastic! It would give me something to do with my Switch between throwing myself off the highest cliffs in Hyrule and getting 12th place in 200cc karting.

I think the 28 refers to the release in Japan, which is in september, not that the characters will be revealed the 28 of this month

I'm blind and a fool. Thank you for pointing this out, as I now have a renewed hope for next week's Famitsu.
