  1. @Pokechu that's a lot to respond to...

My reasonings for a lot of it was mostly based on gut feelings as I went through the cast lists, divvying out based on popularity, importance to original story, moveset uniqueness, and weapon typing.

The only thing I have to say, really, is that Leo is one of the most inneffectual royals in Fate's story (Fates, story? Ha!), at least from what the player sees. Put him in A simply because of popularity and moveset uniqueness. If it was based on anything else, he would've been in B, at least how I see it. I love the kid, but, like Hinoka, Sakura, and Elise, anything he could add to them game (besides his moveset) could be done as an NPC.

Effie is also an Armor. More uniqueness is better than clones. And a playable Elise/Sakura would be clones, or close to, Leo/Takumi (Horse Mage/Archer), just with healing access, which I don't think they'd waste time focusing on. I suspect less than 1/4 of the playable units will even have healing access (Lissa, Linde, Merric, the twins, maybe Caeda or Cordelia?, etc.).

Of course, this is all my own opinion. We'll all see what the game adds in total in a month and a half.

Wait, Nowi in S rank?  Selena, Subaki, Keaton, Kaden, Hanz, and Effie above Hinoka, Elise, and Sakura?

Nowi is up there because there's no other choices that would justify dragonstones being a weapon type, or having it's own section in the inventory, at least that's how I see it. She could be a Tiki clone, but she has a really good shot either way.

Elise and Sakura are more suited as NPCs in my eyes than playables. Hinoka would be a Cordelia clone at best, meanwhile Subaki has a better chance at being playable (in my opinion) as he could fill out the non-royal Hoshido roster (Hinoka could fill her story role well enough just by being an NPC). Effie would probably be Elise's playable proxy, while Subaki is Sakura's. Keaton and Kaden (and Panne) because the stone convoy option could be for beasts as well.

As for Selena? Character connections. Selena, Cordelia and Subaki battle convos would be cash. Hanz just seems like he'd fit as a miniboss.

I wonder if Xander can move as fast as Frederick in the game. If he would it could be  Chapter 24 of Conquest all over again ( The one where Hinoka uses dragon veins to  make fliers move halfway across the map in one turn.)

Depends on if Frederick runs double effective duty as an armor as well. If so, he'll probably be slower.

You choose between Rowan and Lianna as the main character for story mode. The one not chosen becomes an NPC on certain stages (you might be able to play as the other on some stages though)

So I was right about it taking ideas from DQH. Interesting. I'll be going with Lianna. Rowan's character type isn't normally my kind of character, but I'll see once I play the game for a while.

The weapon triangle might not be too noticeable in the beginning, but later on you might find that "man, this enemy is tough!" Better use of the weapon triangle later on is key

That's kinda like FE in general, as well DW8's weapon typing.

They tested how weak fliers are to arrows, because they thought surely fliers can't be as weak as in mainstream FE Games.

    • They were wrong haha, one arrow to Cordelia brought her close to death, and another took her out (said resemblance to original FE games is scary)

This makes me happy, it'll add a lot of tenseness to stages with tons of Archers, Horseslayers, Armorkillers and the like. Wonder if they'd add the Reaver weapons to take advantage of the weapon triangle?

Frederick can dash at high speeds and mow down enemies while moving

Something like horse-riding musou attacks in DW and Berserk, I assume?

Thieves with keys will appear on the battlefield sometimes and loot treasure chests like in original FEs

I can't tell if this increases or decreases the chances of playable Theives. I'll go with decreases for now. Sorry Julian/Gaius :/

I thought Fujin Yumi just negated movement penalties for terrain, not ignored it completely.  I don't remember it letting Takumi ignore mountains and such, so letting him use flier routes doesn't necessarily make sense, especially if they end up being primarily cliffs and mountain passes.

Of course, I don't know how else they could having it's special ability reflected, unless there's something like movement penalties statuses that it could ignore.  I'm not sure Takumi really needs the Fujin Yumi to have a special effect though, given that a lightsaber bow is fairly unique on its own.

Fujin lets Takumi walk over water and some mountains, if I remember correctly

Having a connection =/= marrying someone and having children with them.

But Sully is appropriate as a wife gameplay-wise due to what you said. If it wasn't for Olivia, who's kind of "just there", though...

I just meant his relationship with Sully has a foundation, where Cordelia doesn't have that.

I never have to worry about Olivia, personally, because I always stick her with

Seriously, Chrom would pick Sully before Cordelia. SULLY. I laugh to avoid crying, lol.

Don't knock Sully/Chrom. Canonically they're childhood friends who train together frequently. They at least have some connection.

    Edit:

    Chrom:
Oh no you don't. You're perfect, just as you are. I wouldn't change a thing, at least. We can spar. We can speak as equals. It's one small part of my past that's unchanged, and...it anchors me.

It's a good support, though I never do it myself. I wish I didn't ship her so much with Virion if only because of Chrom.

If the devs think Donnel is popular, they must think Freddy is popular too... lol He placed 14th.

EDIT: @BlizzardWolf95 Gregor looks near 40, imo. I don't think Cherche or Panne are near that.

We don't know how Taguel age, as for Cherche, I place her at 27-30, and I put Gregor at 34/35, but that's just me

He's also way older than all of them (and in Nowi's case, looks way older. I really prefer not to pair him with any of them because of a huge age gap no matter what happens. I do like his support with Tharja though.

I used to feel this way, but I genuinely love his supports, and he's such a nice guy. Him and Panne are my favorite for each. And to be fair, him and Cherche aren't too far apart in age either.

Hey someone else who likes this pairing, high five.

Also it makes Severa look more like Usagi/Sailor Moon, always worth it.

Blonde Severa is underrated. She looks so regal, deserving of her personality, at least I think so.

  10. Just to make a parallel to DW9 for a minute: For the last month, they've released Famitsu articles and website updates weekly, with new characters, redesigned characters, game info, and more.

    IMG_9916.JPG.9921cedfa062811a0d91702330f2fbe6.JPG

And this week they do it again. This game probably won't release until Christmas at the earliest, and certainly won't be hitting places outside Japan until 2018.

FE Warriors info release schedule has to be Nintendo controlled. Will we be seeing FE Warriors stuff in Famitsu this week? Doubtful, but I'll keep my eyes on Famitsu's Twitter, see if anything pops up.

  11. Let's say every character in the game has access to some sort of class-changing feature, as it's hinted that will be present in the game. This can also double as a place to discuss class changing when it's formally announced!

Assuming it works more like Second Seals, what classes would you all like to see the currently revealed characters get as secondary options? You can include other characters that you think'll get in too!

I can see Lianna or Rowen getting a mounted option, like Rowan as a Paladin, Lianna as a Pegasus Knight. Paladin Chrom would be cool to see too!

Knight Lord Marth, Sorcerer Robin, Sage Lissa, Wyvern Lord Frederick, Sniper Lucina, Hero Cordelia, Master of Arms Ryoma, Great Knight Xander, and Wyvern Lord Corrin would all be cool to see as well!

  13. It would be pretty silly if Ike, Roy, Alm and Celica weren't in the game in some form, especially since Amiibo support is confirmed.

Though, it would be funny (albeit a slap in the face) if swiping the Amiibo just gave you the Ragnell/Binding Blade/Kingsfang/Beloved Zofia for free use with any sword-user.

  14. Please be Jeorge

    Please be Jeorge

    Please be Jeorge

If it's a mounted female, the only potential candidates that aren't fliers are Midia, Sully, Maribelle, Peri, and Elise, also Selena has a canon mounted promotion, but besides Elise, I don't think any of them would have priority.

This could very well be Camilla and Takumi, I think those would be the strongest reveals at this time, but it could also be Caeda or Minerva, Jeorge or Virion. There honestly aren't too many possibilities for either, so unless they go way left field, it's going to be two of those.

Edit: I keep forgetting Niles is an Archer too. I have him labelled as a Thief in my head and it keeps messing me up. But yeah, Niles has a really good chance too.

  15. As we all know, the info that has been released thus far has been in inconsistent bursts, but are usually fairly sizable. Take the Famitsu article about Cordelia and Robin for example. Not only did it give us info on two more playable characters, but also detailed quite a few gameplay mechanics that we had only heard briefly touched on previously, casual/classic modes, weapon triangle usage, effective weaponry, etc.

The Japanese release date is September 28th, that's eight weeks from now. Up until this point, info has released roughly every three weeks, but if that keeps up, we'll only get two more batches before the game's release, which is not enough to showcase the things I'm sure they have planned.

Usually, Warriors games have extremely consistent, and frequent, info. Every second week, we'd get something in Famitsu, in the off-weeks, we'd get gameplay videos, or new trailers. I shouldn't have to tell you that Fire Emblem Warriors isn't following that pattern at all.

....but I have a gut feeling that that'll change now. If we get an article every two weeks until release week, that's three more articles, not including the Famitsu the week of (which generally is a compilation of all the info released). With a current confirmed playable roster of 12 characters, 4 characters every new issue could bring the roster up to 24. That, of course, is a best case scenario, but I don't see there being any other way to do it and get the proposed roster of 20+ by continuing the way they're going. I'm sure they'll be leaving some stuff for secrets in-game, but how much are they planning to keep quiet on?

Unless they plan on releasing a character or two every week from now on?

What are they thinking, I wonder? Any thoughts? Do you think the next batch will be a Fates set, or a Shadow Dragon set? Sorry if this just looks like a wall of text.

    Movement?

By all accords, Speed is likely going to determine attack speed, but not Movement speed (and it's rather logical that a mounted soldier is going to cover far more ground than a foot soldier, no matter how slow he is otherwise).

That's true. They already said Mounted units will have a higher focus on traversing the battlefield quickly, and the Move stat seems indicative of that.

Whether or not the number itself is static, however, we have yet to see.

  17. Depends on how far they go with it.

Considering the difference in voice and appearance for Robin, I suppose anything is possible, but it also makes sense for Robin to have such differences what with both genders having canonical merit.

Assuming they go all-out, I could see Lon'qu as a Ryoma alt, Ogma as a Chrom alt, Gunter as a Frederick alt, stuff like that.
