  1. I just noticed that on the site it says Rickard is required to be alive for 6x. I killed him and still got the gaiden, I think its just a turn requirement.
  2. Where did you find the Star Orb? I think I missed it and my game ended at 20.
  3. I just beat Chapter 9. Astram pissed me off for the third time, three strikes and he's out. Hey, I have a shiny Mercurius now. I've killed both George and Astram. For anyone still wondering Etzel is recruited by talking to him with Marth.
  4. I'm thinking Etzel might join if you don't kill him like he did in FESD. His movement range made me think of this, it's possible to reach the seize point without provoking him.
  5. I can't give units random luck, I'd have to use precious unit slots which I can't afford to waste. It is inconsequential anyways. Luck acts as a small buffer to minuscule crit rates, it isn't worth the work to implement.
  6. What is that luck going to do other than complicate my unit coding by making me have multiple enemies with different luck? Eltosian has the Mistolten and the same stats he had in FE4, nothing has changed about him. I find Gandolf in this version much more difficult, he got a weapon upgrade (Hand Axe before now he has a Tomahawk). I don't know how Shagall is yet since I haven't reached his fight. You are just looking at stats and that's only half of the equation. Eltosian has a 30MT weapon.
  7. When I get the ROM I can get Wi-Fi data, FEDS's Wi-Fi works perfectly on my Supercard.
  8. Because I don't have the capacity to insert every song from FE4, that's why. Work is being done to get some tracks in but never will I have them all. Keep in mind that this is not a finished product. Weapon balance has definitely been improved. Since most units aren't scoring critical hits on enemies anyways having luck seems rather pointless in the Prologue. Stats match the units in the FEBinary hack which this game's engine more accurately reflects. The enemy units are less spaced out in this hack meaning that you're fighting more enemies at once. If I increased enemy stats to Hard Mode's levels the game would just take longer, difficulty would see a minimal increase. I've experimented with difficulty a lot, I'm still trying to find that perfect balance.
  9. He's waiting for a ROM to be released before starting. You can't hack something you don't have, silly.
  10. Ballisticians have been spotted as enemies, doubting there's a playable one though. Also, I'm digging Linde's new portrait.
  11. Looks like Base Conversations are functioning as always, we even have stars to denote importance. EDIT: Beaten by Barst.
  12. It might be best to have Merlinus function as his FE7 incarnation does. Personally I think that was a better system anyways.
  13. Superluigi, do you have Merlinus with the same ID as in FE7? Having Merlinus (0x28) in the party activates all Convoy related functions. You can still have him join as the promoted Transporter (he will stay that way).
  14. Glenn, I very happy to receive such a ringing endorsement. I definitely plan on running with this idea, I'm glad you look forward to watching me do so. I started working on the second tale today, here's what I've got so far. (Yeah, I stole Regal Sword's icon. I'd love to make a custom one except I can't sprite to save my life.) Also, I'm very excited to announce that I might have custom CGs in the project! Blackavar expressed interest in attempting custom CGs and interest in the project itself, I'm crossing my fingers. Glenn is correct. The tales in this hack take place at different times between FE7 and FE6. The first tale occurs soon after Eliwood becomes the Marquess. I'm trying to keep the tales in a semi-chronological order, Zephiel's being the last event to occur.
  15. That isn't the Ilia story, Canas isn't even in it. I actually don't have any plans to include Canas in a story. I felt that Canas's story is pretty much set, there isn't anything I could add. Whereas with characters like Raven I can finish a story. I'm currently writing Raven's story, it feels amazing to finish Raven's story. I'm certainly considering it.
  16. THIS TOPIC IS OUTDATED Please go to the new topic for news and updates: http://serenesforest.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=34351&page=1 Elibian Nights Background Information I started this side-project a while back. Originally I called it "Archanean Nights" (title inspired by the first song in Aladdin), the goal was to re-create the BSFE games for people to play. However, the unveiling of FE3DS's downloadable chapters (BSFE chapters included) quickly ended that dream. At that point I had dropped the project entirely. Nayr, however, approached me with a new idea. He proposed I continue the spirit of the hack but rename it "Elibian Nights," creating BSFE chapters for the Elibian characters. At first I didn't particularly want to do this. However, I began to explore the idea. I came up with some ideas of my own, reconciled them with Nayr's ideas, and began working on the first tale. Content (Based on the un-released v4) 13 full-length chapters to play!Eliwood's Tale: Lost Resolve (Tale 1) Raven's Tale: Cornwell's Vengeance (Tale 2) Lyn's Tale: Homecoming (Tale 3) Pent's Tale: The Archsage's Pupil (Tale 4) Hector's Tale: A Leader's Trials (Tale 5) Karel's Tale: From Demon to Saint (Tale 6) Zealot's Tale: Clashing Worlds (Tale 7) Tale 8 The Final Tale And three gaiden tales. A playable cast of 60 characters! 20 achievements to unlock! Various other features. Screenshots Details Currently eight tales (6 main tales and 2 gaidens) have been completed. There will be two more releases from this point forward (after 2/27/2011); the next one with three new tales and a final one with Elibian Nights' final tale. I hope you enjoy this hack, constructive feedback is more than welcome. 17. Before We Begin This story was inspired by my former P.E. Teacher, Mr. Morelli. He was an actual soldier in the Vietnam War. However, he does have all of his ribs (I actually asked). I started writing this recently, it is not complete. I've been posting it on the various forums I visit/lurk and figured I'd post it here so you guys have something that isn't a fan-fiction. I may or may not finish it, I just felt like sharing it. Also, I do not consider myself a good writer; feedback is greatly appreciated though. The Prologue The Vietnam War began on 8 March 1965 for America when the United States Marines were dispatched to South Vietnam. American involvement began under President Johnson and lasted until 1972. During those seven years nearly 60,000 soldiers fell. 303,000 more were wounded and 1,700 more disappeared completely. Those who returned home were heroes, despite the war being considered a loss. However, the stories of those missing soldiers were never told. Of all these stories lost to history one man's stands out. The story of John Morelli, a ditch digger in Vietnam. John Morelli joined the army at the age of twenty-eight. He was dispatched to Vietnam in 1970, close to the end of the war. Morelli has long black hair. He wore a headband around his forehead, a wife-beater shirt, camo pants, and army boots. Morelli has usually clean-shaven, save for his soupcatcher mustache. John Morelli possessed incredible combat skills, rivaling that of the army's elite. However, Morelli's freelance style prevented him from advancing within the military. He belonged to the 32nd Brigade, a close-knit combat troop. Morelli was in charge of digging tunnels and ditches for the brigade. One day Morelli worked in the tunnels alone, unaware of the future that awaited him above. Chapter 1: A Close Encounter Morelli stood with his shovel in hand, the tunnel network was nearly complete. He thought about how useful the tunnels would be to his friends above and the satisfaction of a job-well-done. The sound of footsteps echoes through the tunnels. At first Morelli thought it was his friends coming to check on him. However, the footsteps grew louder and more numerous by the minute. Morelli dropped his shove and grasped the pistol on his belt, ready for anything. From the shadows emerged a Vietnamese man. He was clad in a black-belt's garb wearing a conical hat. The man bore no weapons. This fact stumped Morelli, why would an unarmed soldier wander through enemy territory? However, before he could get out a second thought Morelli found himself surrounded by Viet Cong soldiers. The man in the robes was their leader, he began laughing at Morelli's imminent demise. Morelli stood at gunpoint, surrounded by a circular firing squad. The black-belt demanded that Morelli drop his pistol, his only weapon. Morelli reluctantly complied with the request, hoping it would help him get out of this situation. Unfortunately for Morelli this action did him no good, the squad prepared to fire. Morelli could feel his heart beat as time seemingly slowed down to a snail's pace. From the corner of his eye he could see the soldiers applying pressure to the triggers. In an instant Morelli dropped to the floor, he dodged a mere second before the shots were fired. He stood face-to-face with the black-belt, the Viet Cong men lay dead around them. The black-belt struck a fighting stance. "This man is no ordinary Viet Cong," Morelli thought. The black-belt charged at Morelli, barely missing as Morelli dodged. However, the black-belt's goal was accomplished. He stomped on Morelli's pistol, crushing the firearm into tiny pieces. Morelli was unarmed. He had never trained in martial arts, Morelli was outmatched. Morelli quickly scanned the room for things he could use while dodging the black-belt's kicks. He noticed the shovel in the corner, however it proved a mere distraction to Morelli. Just as he turned to the shovel the black-belt unleashed a flurry of punches aimed at Morelli's chest. Morelli fell to the floor in pain. As he lay there Morelli could feel his broken ribcage, the pain was intense. He noticed a broken rib sticking out from his skin. The black-belt awaited Morelli to stand again, it was the honorable thing to do. Morelli gripped the broken bone and snapped it from the ribcage as he got to his feet. A cry of pain erupted from Morelli, however he finally had a weapon. The rib snapped off perfectly, forming a knife-like weapon. The black-belt charged at Morelli again. Morelli dropped to the ground, his right arm leading the way. He rolled, found his footing, and impaled the black-belt's heart with his makeshift weapon. The black-belt cried in pain, dying moments later. Blood flowed from Morelli like a river, he had to bandage himself soon. Morelli made bandages from the black-belt's robes. While doing so Morelli discovered a map on his person. On it were three markings: a "32," a skull and crossed bones underneath, and a star in the middle of the forest. Morelli thought about the markings for a brief moment. However he had no time to waste, Morelli had to discover the fate of his brigade.
  18. The entire focus of Chapter 1 is rescuing her, it seems silly that she can die.
  19. ^ If she dies in Chapter 1 you lose. She has the "protected character marker" (the diamond thing) like Zephiel had in that chapter you had to protect him.
  20. Anything I can do to make life harder ;)
  21. I just saw the new palette, awesome job! I've fixed most of the text errors reported, and changed Alvis's name back (I thought I did that already, I changed it when I was experimenting with names). Other than that I'm glad to hear people are enjoying the demo and updates. Also, this may be a bit of a long-shot but I figured I'll ask anyways. Does anyone have a savestate at or near the beginning of Chapter 2 (of the original FE4)?
