  1. Just wondering, when a unit is at their worst biorhythm state, is it intentional that an enemy has a 100% hit rate despite the player having the WTA? I'm guessing this was put in to make biorhythm have more of an impact?

Also you make have discovered it already, but in chapter 1-1 the villager who mentions giving you an axe gives you an ellight tome. I suppose that text will be properly altered.

  2. So I gotta say, in chapter 1-4

The assassin's reveal (forgot the name, I know it started with an S) and portrait change was some serious nightmare fuel, really good job on that. I could tell something was off about him due to the slurring whenever he uses S's, but I didn't expect that (you know what I mean) to happen.

  3. Not sure if this is an error from this patch or the translation, but I just did the tutorial.... and the rapier had no damage bonus against Bors!

I'm worried that other weapons might've lost their damage bonus somehow....

EDIT: Just tried the Armorslayer against Ruud (Ch.2). It's damage bonus is also not there.

I think I know the problem because this happened to me as well. What you do is apply the numbers patch to the rom first, then patch the translation in ups format not ips. There must be some sort of weird conflict if you patch both in ips form.

  4. Just wondering, did any of you go to the forbidden woods and drop down past where those snake creatures are?

I think I've encountered aliens, no seriously. It just keeps getting better and better.

Oh yeah the axe is good and really helpful, especially in it's halberd form. Its charge attack is spin to win.

What I really love about this game is how much personality there is to the enemies, from the beast infected townspeople to the armoured executioner with his terrifying swings and jump attacks.

  5. What's the music that plays during the ally phase of the first map? It sounds Castlevania-ish, and I could've sword I'd heard it before, but I can't quite put my finger on it...

It's Fate to Despair from Castlevania: Circle of Moon (theme used in the chapel tower). I recognized it pretty much immediately when I first saw previews of this.

  6. Ah yeah, I didn't keep that in mind. That's probably because it didn't run too bad on mine with the unlocked frames from DSFix. I guess another thing to keep in mind is that Dark Souls 2 was intended to be developed first on the PC with the consoles being ports this time (except the console versions got released a month and a few weeks earlier).

  7. Still waiting for PC release. I could get it on a PS3/360, but I don't want to play it all before I get it on PC.

If Dark Souls 1 runs poor on your computer, I'm not sure about the 2nd. Apparently the PC edition is supposed to have superior graphics to the console equivalents time around.

  8. Anyway I've finished what's been released so far. I felt that chapter 10 ended up dragging on too long and became exhausting (though it doesn't seem very changed from the previous release). I think this is because you're pretty much backed into a corner by all the reinforcements coming in, and the remainder of the chapter involves taking a lot of turns to get through the rest of the map in order to fight Rashka.

However, after that i feel the quality increased for the following chapters. It felt like pretty much all of the characters in Gid's story had their purpose and ended up turning out well for me (at least from the few chapters that were available). The ending of chapter 13 definitely has me intrigued to continue the rest of the story when it's available.

In Ragnar's tale I feel that Donwik is a bit too slow and doesn't have the def stats to justify his usage. In fact, Vidar seems to fufill that role already in addition to having better movement and use of swords (plus he ended up with better speed and def as well). Also, I think Kai got screwed for me because he didn't start gaining speed level ups until very later on (Kiowa turned out to be much better for me).

In contrast to Donwik, the female armour knight Philomena felt like a great improvement over him and an armour knight i actually wanted to use.

Anyway, that's my critique so far.

  9. Oh yeah about Legault's Tale. Montressor tells the guards to keep watch on his Wife and to kill her if she ever leaves the room. After this moment she is never mentioned (or seen) again. Does this have something to do with the tale not being fully finished or just an oversight?
