Getting broken characters is incredibly easy on Awakening, plus unlimited supports and pair up, so I'd say that's the easiest. (Especially Morgan. My amazing, sweet child.) At least, there were a couple of hard chapters in FE8, like 11 and 14. (Goddamnit, L'Arachel. Goddamnit, Rennac. Goddamn staves. Goddamn FoW.)

Don't go for 19xx either, but that should go pretty much without saying. Train your Pegasus Knights well. One of your Elysian Whips comes rather late, so if you may want to bench one. Though Member Card isn't necessary, it is very helpful, allowing you to get Physic staves several chapters early.

Hector is pure win, with Leif and Sigurd also being amazing lords. Hector is the only one in FE7 who can actually use his Prf weapon properly holy shit

This is most likely a case of me being an idiot, but are there requirements to unlock Zephiel's Tale? I just downloaded the patch, but it still won't show up for me. I haven't completed all the tales, only 1-5, could this be affecting it? Just to confirm, the latest patch is 7-1, right? Matchmaker isn't working either, but it seems to have been for other people, so maybe I just have the wrong patch.

Male: Leif. Female: ... all of them, to be honest. If I had to choose, I'd be the most partial to Lyn.

Sword: Binding Blade, though Tyrfing is a very, very close second. The added range wins, though you do get it kind of late. Axe: Pugi. Range + sexy crit rates + obtained in chapter one. Spear: Wing Spear. Forge, sit back, and laugh sadistically. Bow: Yewfelle. Renewal + boosts. Magic: Forseti. Self-explanatory. Grafcalibur is pretty good too.

I liked light magic because it was fun to use, and it gave clerics and bishops something special. I liked the FE4 marriage better, where they gave you a replacement character if you didn't marry the original child's mother off. Recruiting the children characters enhanced the plot and characterization, though they weren't necessary in terms of gameplay mechanics. Having S-rank supports did help, but I feel like it sometimes helped too much. -.- I miss the one on one battles back in the day. I do love Awakening, but the mechanics aren't very much like the older games. Still, it's fun to play, plus it saved the franchise, so I can't complain too much.

Doesn't Nino help EXP rank a lot, though? I usually use her to finish off enemies, and she gains a level per kill on her forced map, though she doesn't have much utility on later maps. She did manage to raise my EXP rank to 5, though. Canas should also probably be higher.

Lucius or Serra is a must. If you're willing to put the effort into training her, I recommend Nino, but she takes a lot of patience. Use all the Pegasus Sisters for triangle attack. If you'd rather use Lucius, use Priscilla instead of Serra for healing, and support both of them with Raven. Usually Lucius>Serra, but you might have a RNG blessed Serra from Lyn Mode. Check against her average stats. Serra has better speed and can dodge better, but Lucius has better magic than her and can hit harder. However, Lucius has the worst defense in the game, so it might be a risk. If you want to use both, they can support each other, so it's up to you. Heath is also definitely a good unit. Rebecca is excellent and she can dodge pretty much everything and crit every other turn. You can support her with Lowen, who has amazing defense and HP, thought he might need help in strength. Just stick her behind him and watch the crits. Also use Jaffar, just to watch and laugh when Silencer activates.

Myrmidons and swordmasters.

I haven't played FE9/10, so I'll go with Roy's Binding Blade because hella ranged attack, though Exalted Falchion is pretty good too and not only because it looks cool.

- Anything involving Sain and girls, or Sain and Kent. - Sain spending his first chapter messing up for the tutorial. - Serra and Lucius's supports. - Severa and Brady's A support. - Canas and Vaida's A support. - Gerome and Inigo's A support. - Robin and Cheche's supports. Especially "I've never even matched up people!" - If Lucina crits Chrom in Arena Ferox. "Hope will never die!" - Gregor. Anything Gregor.

I feel like the GBA games had the best mechanics. I still can't believe Awakening took away rescue. Pair up doesn't feel very traditional to Fire Emblem. Replacing magic triangle with elemental triangle wasn't a good move. Plus, we already have arrows for flyers, so wind magic wasn't really necessary. I'd rather have kept light magic. I never thought I'd say this, but I actually miss Fog of War. It made the maps more challenging. (Though that's not really needed in Lunatic+.) Awakening placed too much focus on marriage. Granted, they needed a way to incorporate children characters, but still. Meh. Also, reclassing was too easy to abuse the hell out of.

My first Fire Emblem game was Blazing Sword, and the first time I played, I was awful. I grinded all the lords to 20, plus most of the characters from Lyn Mode. Everyone else was ignored, except for Pent, Louise, and Jaffar. I also abused the hell out of savestates because I was a weak shit. I pretty much only used iron weapons until the last the couple chapters. I didn't bother with supports. The most stupid thing I did was probably to give all my angelic robes to Florina so she capped HP at around 20/10. Probably the only good thing I did was to get 5-star rankings in Survival, Funds, and EXP. I still don't know how I pulled the last one off. I'd love to punch 12-year-old me in the face.
