  1. Beta testing progress has been going very well, however I'm looking to recruit an editor to look over the text. There are two requirements to be an editor: 1. I have to be familiar with you as a member of SF or FEU 2. You need to know how to read text in a FEditor style format, so something like the below spoiled C support conversation that hasn't been proofread. There will be a lot of text, so be warned if you would like to help out.
  2. The way I handled leveling up in my hack is: 1. Remove the mod coefficient. 2. Make enemies always be pretty low level and make up for the stats using unique character slots for them 3. Removed the promoted unit bonus 4. Make it so that certain classes give less exp than normal. 5. Encourage the player to complete chapters faster. I think the result has been pretty effective so far.
  3. The character guide will tell you who has what skill, but in game you can also check the units description to see what skills they have along with how many leadership stars they have. They're already done. When you release your skill package, I'll switch to using that.
  4. It'll be awhile before then, but I'd be happy if you did! Anyway, I updated the first page in preperation for the first patch. Beta testing is going through its first phase right now before I send it off to the beta testers and begin working on all the supports for the hack (only 1 out of 27 for the patch are done ;_;). Below is a list of all the skills that will show up in the first patch as far as other news goes:
  5. Glad you like what you see so far! As I believe I said in the credits, you transcripting Corrupt Theocracy has been a huge help for my work on this so I thank you for that again! Speaking of beta testing, I have a small ASM hack I'll try and do over the weekend, but then I can do some initial betatesting so that the real beta testing can hopefully start next weekend. The chapters in part two kinda range in terms of enjoyment with some being good and others being not too good so far IMO. Chapter 9 in particular feels lacking, but I'll wait and see what you guys have to say. That mug was made by Nayr. I haven't fully fleshed out her character yet since I haven't done her supports, but as a unit she may be too OP right now. She's a pegasus knight for reference.
  6. It can't be helped. Anyway, chapter 13 is done. What needs to be done now before the release of the first patch is all the beta testing and supports, so don't expect any updates again anytime soon. An official list of what to expect in the first patch and an update/overhaul of the first page will be made over the weekend. Since I posted some before, there are less screen shots for this chapter.
  7. Thanks for the great feedback as always everyone! Have some chapter 13 progress screens. The events for the chapter are kinda complete for now. For some information about the screens: Top left: People from the country of Ryu, those with the most pure dragon blood, gain a skill called Dragon's blood which boosts avoid, hit, and crit by 10, but makes them weak against dragon weapons. Top middle/right: Reclass/branched promotion system in place. When I finish chapter 13, I'll update the main page with more info about this mechanic. Bottom row: You only get one Manakete (who is still in the process of being balanced) but depending on the kind of dragon stone you use, you'll get various bonuses and slightly different animations.
  8. Chapter 12 is done. One more to go and then it'll be time to start getting a patch ready. Chapter 12 is a seize mission again. Chapter 13 will hopefully be done next weekend with betatesting starting the weekend after.

The current things left for the first public release are: -Finishing the last two chapters -play testing them to make sure normal and hard mode are beatable -beta testing them -finish the supports for all characters that show up in the first patch And that's all. I may release it before FEE3, it depends on how progress is going. Supports will take a long time. Anyway, chapters 11 and 12 are both really short, so 11 is done. 12 will probably be done shortly as well, maybe not. Chapter 11 is a seize mission. It's not too tough in normal mode, but in hard mode it might get really tough.

  11. Again, I took a bit longer than I wanted to, but chaper 10 is mostly done. It just needs the typical touch ups any chapter needs. In chapter 10, a very big decision that will affect the whole game lies before you. What that choice is, and the reprocussions you'll face... I haven't actually decided yet :^0 Kinda... Also I lied about not being able to add in the dragoon and griffon knight, and now there are some other new animations too thanks to the updated animation resource topic. I think I said this before, but in case I didn't and since I'm too lazy to scroll up, once chapter 13 is done, I'll be working on supports and only supports so that a patch can be released for FEE3. Also the credits were slightly updated to reflect the new additions.
  12. Got into hacking after seeing videos of MageKnight404's FE7 hack and it made me want to try making my own FE games as well all the way back then. I think I joined old FEU the week it was created which was pretty lucky for me since it was a great resource of tools an knowledge. For hacking related stuff I'm working on now, making lots of palettes for reclassing is annoying :/ I should've tried to make a hack with less characters!
  13. Congrats on becoming a mod! A resource thread that pulls together all the various modification hacks like the triple promotion or fixed ranged weapon patch would be nice.
  14. Yeah it's a great animation. Speaking of animations, there were all the new ones just added recently in the new animation thread. I'd love to include them but I'm not sure how to fit them in, so I guess there will be no dragoons or griffon riders etc. in this hack for the time being ;_;
  15. Only generals will be able to use Ballista and make use of that animation when using them. I think there are only two different Ballista weapons. Also, due to class constraints, Generals use all four physical weapons for their class.
  16. Chapter 9 is "done" and by "done" I mean all the events and text should be working, but it hasn't been balanced yet so I'm not sure how hard or easy it is. Chapter 9 is an escort mission. In it, you must escort someone to speak with one group of characters, followed by another group of characters. It's also the first FOW mission. For the time being, I'm going to probably just hack my way through chapters to test events and such since it saves me time and it's easier to edit events rather than switch back and forth between working on text. Only four more chapters to go for the minimum FEE3 chapter requirement patch, though I still have to do all the supports for the inbetween characters in the meantime. I don't think I'll be able to reach my original goal of finishing by August but one chapter a week progress isn't bad? This chapter had the events go by very fast, but for some odd reason I ended up writing a lot of text for them. I'm hoping future chapters have less text, but for now I feel like this chapter ended up being a bit long.

  18. Well I've certainly slowed down in pace since this chapter took me two weeks to make (though I did take a week off) and I had a bunch of material for it already made. I'm still really behind on supports(only one character has all of them done and I'm still working on the second) and unit palettes. The spell used the evil eye animation and poisoned foes, so due to the ring like nature of the animation it was the first thing that came to mind. The next thing would be Rinka because of the metroid enemy though. I would like to release something for FEE3 this year. The ideal goal is that it goes up to chapter 17 or 18(don't remember which I said before, probably 18). Worst case it goes to chapter 13 which is the end of part 2, the previous chapters being the end of part 3. Also as Eclipse said, Mandrake is a character, specifically one from Corrupt Theocracy. The names dondon suggested felt too intense for a D rank spell and I do like these a bit more. I might go with Blight since Contagion just makes me think of the swarm animation. Ouroboros would be a good snake name if the spell was a higher rank.
  19. It took awhile, but chapter 8 is pretty much done. Just have to do a few touchups here and there. Chapter 8 is a boss kill mission. Uhhh... can't think of much else to say? I started using LordGlenn's public weapon icon repository so now the tomes look much better.

    You should try out FE map creator for making new maps. It's a really fun tool to use since you can randomly generate portions/whole maps.
  21. Yes. With reclassing I did my best to make all unpromoted classes playable. I think the only ones that aren't are male Archer and male thief. For promoted classes, all of them should be playable.
  22. Chapter 7 is done. For the next couple of chapters, I have all the events done, so it's just a matter of writing the text. However, I'll be very busy this week so updates won't be very fast. Chapter 7 is a survive mission. In it, the enemies specialize in using rarer weapons than the ones you've encountered so far, but nothing to over the top like an army of killer axe weilding bandits. Unlike in FE5, scrolls in this hack only give a total bonus of +20 to overall growth and almost always also cause a stat to be lowered. The only exception is the Ulir scroll since it only boosts luck. Also, all the supports are done(well formatting at least), so when a patch is released and you look at unit supports, you'll get an idea of who you have left to recruit!
