  1. All I can remember about it is that it's a splice(hugh for the face, Karel/Sue/Lance for the hair, karel for the body, and some character's scarf(have no idea who) but I think the ribbon at the end of his hair was custom. It was made to look like Shanam and was used in my first hack ever back in 2009.
  2. I don't think I have anything hacking related to CT other than the mugs anymore. I only have all the sequels stuff in case I ever wanted to go back to it, which probably won't happen. As far as the scripts for the supports go, they're exactly the same as FE7 IIRC, so if you know how to use FEditor, you can go to the offset where they begin in an unedited FE7 and they should all be there in the same exact spot (all the scripts I'd have would be in FEditor format as well). This also means that any FE7 .sav with all the supports collected will have all the supports accessible to be read as well I think.
  3. The growth rates for this hack were all written on paper at the time I made it so I don't have them, but for the sequel if you ever want to LP it I do have them if you want them since I was smart enough to type them up that time. A lot of the names I just picked from Capcom games(all the SF, Darkstalkers, and Megaman ones) like Starman said.
  4. Just got around to finishing V1.2. You did a really great job with this and it was a lot of fun to play! I liked how you had certain hints highlighted in red and everything felt pretty balanced for the most part, however I think Weiss may be a bit too strong or at least gains too much exp because of 5x. I'm looking forward to how this turns out in the future!
  5. This game looks and sounds great. And more AW, FE, and confirmation on SMTxFE not being vaporware is always nice.
  6. There is no double standard, just you thinking that discussion around a complaint of a particular aspect somehow translates into me saying those games aren't great. I don't even see how you even came to this conclusion when I never said anything about the overall quality of those games other than people disliking a particular aspect related to them. Second seals do more damage to the meta game because they let you get exp like crazy and go from getting ~30 exp per victory to about ~70 exp per victory. Giving any unit a second seal in a playthrough will generally guarantee them being one of your ace units as a result, and that's not even looking at it breaking the cap in level ups you can get. While the magic triangle hasn't ever really been that useful and I don't see how IS can implement it like how FE12/13 implement the much more dynamic weapon triangle due to how little variety there are in magic classes, I think most people just miss light magic. But the games that take place in Awakening never had the magic triangle before so the world is as it should be?
  7. Pair-up makes them easier, but it doesn't change the fact that they still aren't that challenging. And you can't make good use of second seals without grinding? Are you kidding? The idea that rehashing is better than trying to be innovative is exactly why games like Pokemon, Mario, EA sports games, COD, etc. get so much shit by the video game community(or at least the primary complaint the games receive) and why the video game industry has been so stagnant for so long. It is a tremendous problem, especially in the case of COD due to how much influence it has had on the industry. Regardless wanting to stay at the status quo is natural, not all change ends up with a positive result, and this argument is better left else where. And FE does rehash some of their games. Just look at the GBA and DS games >_>
  8. Innovation for innovations sake is still better than just having the same game rehashed over and over, and pair-up isn't "unbalanced" because of the mechanic itself, it's "unbalanced" because normal and hard mode are too easy and the units who excel the most in lunatic mode aren't as great as they are because of pair-up but because of second seals/the exp formula/veteran(though veteran does require pair-up).
  9. How is pair-up not innovative when it adds in an entire new layer to play the game with? Yeah it makes the game easier at times, but that doesn't stop it from being innovative as a completely new mechanic or lacking in tactical usage since you can't just always pair up whoever you want and get the best result possible every time while certain pairs work better than others, which is still tactics. I get that you said you like Awakening. I didn't even intend to come across as "attacking" you somehow or the like in responding to what you said merely put forth a point of discussion on innovation in the FE franchise since I don't see how you think pair-up somehow lacks innovation. And the general opinion is that it's worse than most fire emblem games? Looking at almost any rating site, the general opinion is that critically and fan speaking the best/second best game in the series, and I'm not even arguing that it's the best game in the franchise(I personally don't think one FE stands above all others since they almost all have something to them that makes them unique and fun), just that it's a great game, and there is no real strong argument you can make against that with what objective data we have available at the moment. And as far as these other people making these "more objective criticisms" and what have you about why Awakening is worse somehow, I've seen them before, and the majority of them don't impress me at all, especially when most of them lack real comparisons to the older games like the people who think Weapon weight was somehow this super awesome feature that didn't cause more harm than good or become irrelevant starting from FE9 onwards or that Awakening lacking rescue like the two games before it is somehow this huge catastrophe when pair-up and the rescue staff does almost anything you'd ever use rescue for anyway, but I digress. And I used Shakespeare as an easy to understand comparative example. You can replace it with anything that fits the role. I'm an anime/manga fan, and I don't think anime/manga like Madoka or Hunter x Hunter are great anime either, but I'd still be wrong in saying they're not great anime/manga since almost all evidence points to them being well regarded and respected series, just like Awakening, whether I like it or not. And I certainly wouldn't say Awakening is some kind of passing fad as of now since it's still the most discussed game in the franchise for the moment, to the point where haters of the game are annoyed that no one talks about the older games more often from what I've seen.
  10. Having a "valid opinion" doesn't all of a sudden mean that something isn't great, let alone make it a strong argument. I can hold the "valid opinion" that Shakespeare is not a great author, but that wouldn't all of a sudden mean that he isn't a great author all things considered. You can say that you don't like Awakening for whatever reason you want, but to not be able to recognize it as a great game is just being blind or intentionally ignorant. Those features are more innovative to the core gameplay than pretty much any features the franchise has gotten since FE5. 3rd tiers, an avatar character you can play as, and reclassing are the only newer features since that are even comparable to the new ones in Awakening, excluding reworked mechanics, though it's not like reworked mechanics are absent from Awakening either.
  11. I don't see how people can't see how great a game Awakening is. It has more customizability and things to do than any other game in the franchise by far. Marriage was pretty much always the reason fans used to think FE4 was the best game in the series. The dual support system is arguably one of the best mechanics introduced in the franchise and pair up has tons of depth to it as well, not to mention things like spotpass add on even more fun. The interface is more efficient and faster than ever before. There are just so many ways to play the game that the only thing the player is really limited by is their own creativity. Yeah, it can be easily broken, but being able to break the game is just one method of play, and there are always tons of challenge runs you can do just like in Pokemon with nuzlock runs. If a ranked mode system like FE6's or FE7's were in the game, cheesing the game with the avatar wouldn't even be mentioned since you'd fail to get a good rank right away anyway. Frankly the only real flaws I see with the game are that you gain exp too fast, certain items should be more expensive, that there really needed to be a difficulty between hard and lunatic, and the Sorcerer class is too overpowered(Manakete too, but that's more due to exp problems), but too think IS doesn't already recognize these problems after they were smart enough to remove the warp staff from FE12's higher difficulties and looking at the balance changes between FE9 and FE10 is just silly. Frankly, Awakening really set the bar way too high for the next game, since other than tweaking mechanics/adding in more old ones, I really don't know what else IS could add to make the games more fun and innovative.
  12. For the same reason that caused you to make this post.
  13. Why would you want to deprive yourself of the unique and pleasant experience that is the serious dicussion board? Do you hate fun?
  14. That's pretty crazy that almost every chapter can be beaten in one turn, though since you can do the chapters in any order and any kind of preperation it makes sense. Nice work!
  15. #1. Eliminate Grinding: Grinding is optional. You do not have to grind, and given Awakening's design, it's better off having the grinding included since the game plays more like an RPG than any other game in the fanchise. Additionally, grinding does come with a cost since you aren't immune to dying or getting a game over while grinding unless you play in casual mode, which is optional to do. Also, FE9's base exp feature is extremely easy to abuse, hence why they attempted to balance it more in FE10 and FE12. #2. Balanced Higher Difficulties. While Lunatic+ is indeed broken, Lunatic mode is perfectly fine in terms of difficulty, and if anything, the game needed more difficulties between hard and lunatic as far as balance goes. If you really want to improve Awakening without turning it into something completely different, all you have to really do is nerf dual attack and guard, have the damage bonus from activation skills not count towards HP recovered from Nosferatu/Avera's night, and fix the exp formula. I know a lot of people also scream for "more mission goals" when it comes to Awakening, but considering the majority of games in the franchise only have one mission goal, I really don't see it as being a terrible flaw that needs fixing.
  16. Fire Emblem Awakening has been nominated for the 2013 spike VG awards best RPG of the year category. Despite being the most critically well received 3DS and nintendo game of the year according to metacritic by reviewers(though they don't have Mario 3D world yet), it was not nominated in the best Handheld (I've never even heard of Tearaway before) or Nintendo game category(I don't think Rayman should really be up there). http://www.polygon.com/2013/11/18/5118770/spike-vgx-award-2013-nominees-announced While the spike VG awards are by and large a joke, this is still a good sign for the franchises reputation. Edit: You can also vote for what you think is "game of the year" here: http://www.spike.com/vgx though I am unsure if that affects the winner or not (just vote for FE anyway).
  17. Wow, I've never even heard of that before. Makes me wonder why transpeople don't mention it more often.
  18. I think FE is only "easy" for the veterans of the series who have analyzed the game enough to know why you are capable of using a unit like Dagda for the entire game when most people would be initially turned off by someone like him in the long run. The average person/beginner to the series will still have some difficulty, and part of what makes FE fun is the rules and limits you set for yourself while playing the games, considering such rules is how the ranking system works anyway. Also, the fact that FE has permadeath honestly makes it one of the more difficult SRPG's for that alone IMO.
  19. I don't know the full details, but at the moment transgender people don't have full(if any?) civil rights protection depending on where you live in the USA(assuming you live there). However that will probably change in a few years with the way society is now. As far as Female->Male sex changes go, the only thing I can ever recall reading as some kind of social negative is some blog I read where the girl who got the sex change complained how it was a bit harder being a man, but the only complaint I remember her saying was how she was more used to guys hitting on her instead of how she would need to hit on whatever sex she was interested in(don't remember which, probably women). Can't recall anything other than that though. Also, if you're short(like under 5-6 or maybe a bit taller) it'll probably be easy for people to identify you as transgender.
  20. That's because FOX news isn't the only one showing that such is fact(LOL at it being propaganda, sounds like you've been a victim of some yourself if you've never even heard of this before/are genuinely shocked at this), you have a slew of other political scientists and media watch groups claiming that such is the case for several decades now, hence why it's become such a prevalent thought among the American people for over a decade. And given that so many young people nowadays are democrats/liberals, why would you be shocked at all that such is the case? Also, I don't know what news you've been looking at, but I've seen CNN call out the republican party for the whole debt spectacle, and there are certainly more people in the US blaming republican's(though it's really the Tea Parties fault) over the issue than democrats/Obama anyway.
  21. So I take it you don't need proof for why Fox, aka the MSNBC of the right, is right wing then? Just read this, go outside, take any kind of current events class in High school/college, or go too any political forum and talk with someone. The thought that the left wing has more presence in the US media than the right is something that has been documented in multiple studies since the 80s and has been at least a popular opinion among the citizens of the USA since 2002 according to gallup polls. The fact that someone is saying I'm not from America for thinking this makes me question whether or not they're from America since it's such a popular opinion among the citizens, even if you do think it's nothing but right wing propaganda. I mean, MSNBC has literally come out and said that they are a liberal news station and even made it their news slogan.
  22. Yes, since when has the right wing ever had more media presence than the left in the past few years? Last I checked Fox news is the only major right wing news channel, and it's generally the most viewed news channel for that reason when compared to left wing news channels like CNN, MSNBC, etc.
  23. From my general experience, I've seen both sides make ad hominem claims before, however the "left wing" people I've spoken with are more likely to use a larger variety of terms (racist, homophobe, redneck, whatever) than right wing people who just go "liberals." I've certainly met more left wingers like this, however I've also just met more left wing thinking people as well in my lifetime. The left wing is generally more "politically correct" thanks to the large presence of left wing thinking in the media (at least in the USA), so they often think they don't have to make in depth arguments since they can just rely on some kind of ad populum and then call you whatever for it knowing they have more people to back up their opinion. Then again, I think people who support a more unpopular opinion usually come across as more knowledgeable on the subject since if they didn't know what they're arguing, no one would listen to them.
  24. I heard a rumor that I'm hoping is fake that they supposedly only added on 70 new pokemon(excluding mega evolutions). Does anyone know if this is false?
