I will be honest, I had lost hope completely on a game that wasn't as "traditional" as the main series game. In fact, this announcement took me by surprise.
To me, the thing that gives me hope about this game is not just that it will be open world. But since this is not one of the main series game, I hope Gamefreak can take their time this time to polish their game. Hopefully they learned their lesson from Sword and Shield.

Why is Reysom tagged as only for Radiant Dawn? I'm pretty sure he was playable in Path of Radiance.

I expect to see a lot of Iagos and the dark mage from FE5 to be the 7th unit since their supportive weapon works on their own.

Even if Laurent end up being the demote, Inigo can still be another class than just infantry sword.

True, but it doesn't stop anyone from giving them different weapons than just swords. In fact, I would like the both of them to get different weapons, possibly even another movement type.
Inigo could be a demote axe unit infantry, or maybe a demote bow cav.
Severa maybe could a sword flier? Or she could be an axe unit as well, just more premium.

Gen 2 Awakening.
If banners take 3 months to be completed with voice acting, this would be a great timing with what Laurent's VA wrote earlier in january.
