  1. I think it would be cool to see more enemies use effective weaponry. Many hacks have done it to great effect. Not sure how many enemies or how often though. Too many and they stop being unique weapons, too few and we go back to square one.
  2. Alright, this is more like it. Here we have an unpopular opinion Cannot disagree harder. Ambush spawns are never fun imo. They can easily blindside you and kill one of your units without warning. Sure, spawn camping is lame, but an enemy Wyvern Rider coming out of nowhere and smashing your Knight with their hammer is much worse if you ask me. Even with the best telegraphed ambush spawns, you have no way of knowing their equipment or what class they are, which means you can`t properly prepare. Also, saves and rewind mechanics isn`t a good excuse.
  3. After spending some time deliberating, I actually don`t hate the fact that the series had so few major character deaths. If anything, the fact that so few characters died made the ones who did die stand out more. While I don`t think all of them were handled great, most of them were done right. With that said however, there were moments I feel characters should have died. Guy using the Gate of Death and the Five Kage after the "fight" with Madara are the main examples that come to mind. Also, one more common opinion, Hashirama Cells are bullsh*** and became a solve all miracle cure by the end.
  4. Not sure how unpopular this is, but I find that, despite often getting the shorter end of the stick in terms of relevance, the female lords are more interesting than the male ones. Celica, despite her really dumb moment in Act 4, has a devoutness I rarely see in protagonists. Lyn coming from both nomadic and noble heritage gives her an interesting viewpoint in the world of pollitics. Micaiah`s love to her country and the lengths she goes to protect it is facinating to me. Lucina, while lacking in focus, has her moments, like getting to enjoy simple joys she never had in her future, or being willing to kill her father`s closest friend for the sake of peace. Edelgard speaks for herself at this point. The only case I would argue it is the other way around, for me at least, is Eirika, as I find her rather meh when compared to Ephriam. Not to say any of these ladies are perfectly written by any stretch, Lyn in particular has some wasted potential in my opinion, I just find them more interesting than their male counterparts in their respective games. Not to say I hate any of those male lords though.
  5. Aside from Lyn, cause she is my favourite, I have a couple of suggestions. For M!Mark: Farina/Florina, Ninian, Isadora, Rebecca For F!Mark: Guy, Erk, Nils, Lowen, Hawkeye If anyone is an option M!Mark: Louise F!Mark: Pent, Dorcas
  6. For a standard/fanservice banner, I would like to see Aversa or Nagi get a summer alt, Naga and Mila get bride alts and Chrom get a fallen alt. For a non-standard banner, seeing Gunivere, Iduun, Dieck and Wolt dressing up as the Eight Legends of Elibe would be cool. A summer camp banner would also be neat, though I have zero idea on who I would want on there.
  7. Then I would rather they either make previous NPCs playable (Randalph, Fleche, Ladislava, Judith, Rhea) or make entirely new characters akin to Echoes. I simply don`t why they should try and shove child units from a different game into this one. Didn`t make sense to me with Fates, and wouldn`t make sense to me with Three Houses. If you wish to champion this, the more power to you. We will simply agree to disagree.
  8. Question, how does ripping these characters from one game and inserting them into another unrelated game fix things in a way that simply having them not be child characters in Fates does? Cause I don`t see it. Adding these characters into Three Houses feels like it would be way too big of a chore for such little gain. Besides, Fodlan as a world is already pretty well defined and has plenty of nuance. Fates` world on the other hand, in my opinion, could really use the additional worldbuilding Just throwing my own two cents in here.
  9. As fun of an idea as Mark being a villain sounds, I can`t see them handling it all that well. Either they would be a botched attempt at a Camus, or they`re just on the villain side for "reasons". Besides, I can`t see them doing something as risky as making the avatar character an antagonist. While Lyn being playable in FE6 isn`t something I would hate, I can`t help but feel they would try to force her into an important role to capitalize on her popularity. In that case, I would rather they alter details from Blazing Sword to fit better with Binding Blade. Then again, maybe doing the reverse would be easier, I have little knowledge of what continuity between the two games is either shaky or just incorrect.
  10. Agreed 100%. Mark dying would be the best thing they could do for them. In a similar vein, if Lyn has to play a role in a FE6 remake, it should be to die during the Sacean massacare. She can put up a fight, but she should still end up dead. And I am saying this as someone who likes Lyn. What a FE6 remake needs is to expand on the characters exclusive to that game, not try to insert FE7 characters who don`t fit in there. I wouldn`t mind a few cameoes here or there, but only as NPCs. Maybe they could be playable in trial maps, but not in the main game.
  11. Based on her swimsuit alt, yes. One of her castle quotes has her ask, "Do I remind you of Loki in this?" While I do agree, I tend to find the Ishar "branch" of Camus more frusterating. I understand that their inability to let go of their loved ones is tragic, but with how evil these loved ones tend to be and how poorly they treat the "Ishtar", I find said loyalty questionable. But that is just my opinion.
  12. I can see that actually, though it would require some rewriting to make sense. Another opinion I have found recently is that, despite wanting Light and Dark magic back to their SNES/GBA days, I don`t care for the magic triangle itself. It just never seemed to make the same difference that the weapon triangle did.
  13. That is true, it`s less two seperate routes and more two parts of the same story. I feel like people have started to critique Three Houses more as time as passed and it`s "honeymoon phase" has passed. Though I have mostly seen this on Youtube and Reddit.
  14. With all the problems that I have noticed with the plots of Fates, Echoes and Three Houses over the years, it makes me wish for the next game, whatever that ends up being, to have a single route for the story. It feels like the plot of these games really suffer from having the focus split between multiple routes. I would rather have a single, well done storyline than 2-4 half-assed ones. Not sure if this sentiment is unpopular though.
  15. Could you please elaborate? In what ways do you want FE to take more inspiration from other fantasu works? I like the idea a lot, but also wonder what could be carried over without turning FE into a high fantasy series rather than the low fantasy it tends to be.
  16. Story: Ideally I would want them to have next-to-no involvment. Either just have them be generic nobody who joins the army or give them a role that keeps them out of influencing major plot events. The Lord can talk to them, but the plot should be able to move on without the avatar present. Gameplay: Pick their class, boon and bane. Appearance customisation would also be ideal. Character: Something more understated so as to avoid player and avatar ideals clashing as much as possible I would them not add an avatar to a remake, expect for an expanded Mark in FE7 maybe. But even then, you could easily remove them from said remake and I wouldn`t lose any sleep over it.
  17. Right, I forget Sanaki is also an Empress. Must have slipped my mind. I was not aware that all their classes had different names in Japan.
  18. Both. I like that we have a playable Emperor, and that she is actually the ruler of an Empire. I would certainly like to see another emperor be playable, even if they are not the Lord. Well, aside from her being a woman, they are indeed quite similar.
  19. Eliwood: how he deals with the deaths of those close to him Lyn: how her being from a different culture effects her worldview Hector: his boisturus personality and that he uses axes Lucina: her strong drive and her dorky moments Alm: being left handed Celica: her cheeky side Edelgard: how proactive she is and that she is a playable Emperor Claude: his foreign background, using bows and riding a wyvern in his later classes Sadly nothing special to say about Dimitri, Chrom or the Renais twins. As for my ideal Lord: For a male commoner, I would like to see a veteran soldier in his early 40s with a wife and kids. Due to his close ties with the royal family, he can get away with saying stuff that would get anyone else a prison sentence. While he cares deeply for his family and fellow troops, he cares little about the war going on. At least untill he starts to see the negative impact war has on people, regardless of their country or social standing. For a male royal, I would like to see a mage who, while not as strong as his father or siblings, is very clever, tactical and politically savy. My ideal scenario would be him becoming King and being forced to face the challenges that comes with ruling a country. For a female commoner, a swordfighter like Ayra would be cool. Tough and fierce, but has a small soft spot for children. Maybe a foreign background to explain her distrust of other initially, which would lessen as she grows closer to her allies. For a female noble, a axe or lance wielding princess who is a lot like Hector, a boisturus bruser who loves to fight, is good at it and is charismatic. While suprisingly tactical, politics are her main weakness.
  20. Some moments I had FE7: Seeing branches for the first time. It was a cool idea and at that time I had only seen the 3DS games map design, so it was FE13: Seeing Tiki`s S-support with M!Robin. Still one of my favourites in the whole game. The art was the iceing on the cake. Morgan`s supports with her family, they just made me happy with how wholesome they were. Seeing Lon`qu and Cherche`s love talk L:"I love you. Don`t make me say it again" C:"I love yoy too, now say it again" Gave me a good laugh the first time I saw it. FE14: Hinata and Felica`s supports, still one of my favourite pairs and their best support in my opinion. FE15: The first time I saw Berkut. The voice, the theme, his design, the whole scene. So sad with how dissapointing he turned out.
  21. For the Telluis duology, I don`t think full on remakes are needed as much as for earlier entries, like FE4 or 5. Haven`t played FE6 so I have nothing to add there. The primary thing I want an FE4 remake to do is include information from supplementary materials as part of the game. Infor on background characters, villain motvations, the whole shebang. There no reason for such info to be relegated to interviews and random articles from decades ago. In the same vein I want more characters to be properly explored, much like how Echoes expanded on the Gaiden cast. Let non-main characters speak during important story events, expole the friendship between Sigurd, Quan and Eldigan, show us what the couples are like after they have formed, let the second gen characters not named Seliph talk during the story. The villains need this the most in my opinon. Gameplay wise, I feel they should let lovers and thieves decide how much gold they give away if that feature is kept. Letting characters trade weapons between each other would also be nice. Making infantry not super inferior to mounted units would also be good.
