  1. Haven't been watching the stream...but to be clear, it's the expiry date for downloading the 3rd route for free. After that (you can see in the fine print at the bottom), it'll cost money to download the 3rd route DLC. At least, that's if I'm not reading it wrong.
  2. If these two have supports with one another and they aren't like this, I'll be extremely disappointed. Much hilarity can be had.
  3. He seems like the type that follows their dad's horrible orders to a T...but will still defy him if the need arises. In the Treehouse footage, he says he really should have just killed Rinka & Suzukaze, but (sneakily?) defied their father's orders and relented because Camilla and Elise always get on his case when he does something to upset Kamui. Easily the coldest to Kamui out of all the siblings, but nicer than I thought. He also said Kamui teased him about his collar (lol), so maybe he does get along with Kamui to an extent. I laughed when it cut to the three siblings while Marx and Kamui are fighting. It could basically be summed up as "Kamui, sweet child, don't get hurt" and "oh no, what do" while Leo(n)'s reaction was pretty much "damn it, why do I always have to deal with this shit" and gets the job done. Overall, the whole scene gave him some points in my book.
  4. Caught that; made me laugh as well. Guess the Nohr siblings get along better than I thought, Leon included. Leon should just make fun of Kamui's lack of proper footwear. Rinka(h) said that she heard rumours of a very sheltered Nohrian prince(ss), though I'm not so sure about them being "imprisoned", so I think the latter is more accurate.
  5. I always found it weird when people named their kids shortened versions of longer names (like "Mike" instead of "Michael"). So it's kind of a "but why?" situation for me that he's just "Leo" rather than "Leon" which sounds like a "fuller" name, especially considering he's supposed to be royalty. On the similar name front thing, the pronunciations are slightly different though for Lyon and Leon. Lyon was リオン ("Ree-on") and Leon in Fates is レオン ("Re-on" -- it's kind of like the first "e" in "letter"). But this is English we're talking about now so it's kind of a moot point I guess. Ah well. He could have been named Léon and then I could have called him The Professional since he's such a prodigy.
  6. Not on its own, haha. Speaking of weapons, Yatogami is now the Ganglari? I tried looking that up and the closest thing I get it is Gangleri, one of Odin's many nicknames, and it means "the wanderer."
  7. Same. I can even understand the Marx name change to Xander (lol no communism references allowed), but just dropping the 'n' from Leon's name feels kind of weird if not pointless.
  8. Wow, Leo(n) isn't as cold as I thought, haha. The whole bit about making fun of his collar made me laugh.
  9. That seems like a bit of a needless procedure name change.
  10. Marx is now Xander? ...This will take some getting used to. The Treehouse stream here:
  11. Falcom always has great music. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qnpg9Zc3_iE
  12. Oh man, I'm glad I'm not the only one who laughed after Leon just threw Rinka and Suzukaze out of the way with his magic while Marx was all like "WHUT!?" after Garon told him to execute Kamui. It's very telling of their personalities. Marx is pretty chivalrous and honourable, but that Leon is one hilariously cold bastard. Guess he doesn't take being slighted very well... And just before that, I was thinking otherwise because of the scene in the TV CM where he seemed to be smiling with the rest of his siblings when Kamui showed up.
  13. Ys isn't exactly known for its story, and though Yunica's route is often criticized as the weakest story in Origin (and for being somewhat disconnected from the game's larger narrative), I enjoyed seeing her overcome her confidence issues and watching her grow as a person. The moment you first hear the standard boss battle theme play in her route is pretty awesome.
  14. No, I like pretty characters with cookie cutter personalities, didn't you know? It's the cowlick, isn't it. I'm not a fan of the waifu/husbando culture but seeing threads like this give me a good chuckle. Also, what happened to all the love for Harold? The appreciation for his fantastic chin?
  15. It must signify the huge political rift between Hoshido and Nohr. ...I'll show myself out the door for that one. And is there anything that hasn't been discussed to death on this forum. I'm kidding. But soon this will be beaten like a dead horse. Joking aside, they're really going for that "Hoshido is the shining city on the hill, and Nohr is practically a pit" image, aren't they. Why is Nohr even built over (within?) a crater, though. Lol. Looks like they're settled into a valley within the mountains, and they're pretty landlocked from the looks of it, the left side of the map be damned.
  16. Didn't vote, but oh man, I laughed at the poll descriptions. Thanks for the chuckle. I fear for the time when the final edition of the poll is made after the game is out, with inclusion of all characters, haha. Cyrus really has way too many things going for him (I don't mean that in a bad way). To wit: being Kamui's childhood friend and best friend, being saved by Kamui, and being willing to lay his life on the line for Kamui and always siding with them because s/he saved him... The whole trope is working its magic.
  17. Ah, okay. Makes sense. I thought it was weird too, as I wasn't familiar with the verb 教わる, but looked it up just now. Apologies, and thanks for all the transcribing and translations you guys do. Squinting to read scans can be tiring on the eyes.
  18. When playing games with multiple endings, I always save the Golden Ending for last since yeah, you get the entire picture before the "best" ending where all the important story questions typically get answered (the Zero Escape series comes to mind, especially VLR which forces you to play pretty much every route before you can even get the True End, oh my god -- not that I minded). If is a little different though, with the other path + third path being DLC... I hate to throw the word "canon" out there, but is there even anything akin to a "golden" path in this installment? It feels like the third path would make the most sense, but I've learned to avoid tossing around "canon" in FE. Like lots of people, I get the feeling the third path will likely boil down to a "united front" type story that everyone here seems to loathe. I don't really mind that trope, as long as they're executed well and both sides aren't just magically friends. I'd imagine lots of distrust and in-fighting amongst the ranks on the battlefield, and if they incorporated that into gameplay, it'd be pretty interesting, I think (I like story and gameplay segregation). Cue babysitter Kamui throwing get-along shirts on everyone. Slightly OT, but I'm also interested in how each of the Nohr siblings feel about invading Hoshido and why Nohr is built on a giant hole in the ground.
  19. Oh, I agree. The non-rock tracks really round out the entire OST. I like the ones you mentioned too, along Mother Earth Altago and even the slower tracks, like Lost Harmony Among People. Just a great OST overall IMO. I was playing Ys Origin the other day, so, music from Origin. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ytz61uka79M
  20. I was looking at the characters page on the Japanese site just now and there's one thing I noticed. For Cyrus' dialogue in the first screenshot (talking to male Kamui), it's hard to make out, but it looks like the verb he uses is "to be saved (救われる >> 救われた)" rather than "to be taught (教えられる >> 教えられた)." It's hard to make out the left radical in the kanji, and 救 looks a lot like 教 at that size, but the conjugation seems to imply it's 救う --> 救われた rather than 教える --> 教えられた. I'm far from proficient in Japanese, but I can read a few simple sentences here and there. In the context, it seems to make sense. 「お前に救われたこの命...いつだってお前のために捨てる覚悟だと。」 So that means Kamui saved Cyrus' life when they were younger? It would make a lot of sense, then, that Cyrus is Kamui's ally on both Hoshido and Nohr. Anyone wanna confirm, or just be an extra pair of eyes?
  21. Cyrus = best bro ever. More bro than all your adopted and blood-relative bros. I kinda want him to be the rival-best friend to Kamui's too, though, not just the "follow the protagonist" type. I wonder what other characters we'll see since there're supposed to be even more than there were in Awakening. Hopefully they've got some depth to them, but I won't hold my breath. Also, thanks for the translations as always!
  22. Is it too late to join the party or As someone who doesn't see Robin as self-insert, I would say so. Horribad cliche anime supports aside, the entire "two halves of a greater whole" thing and whatnot throughout the story was a large factor for it. But then again, I think Chrom also just has a lot of fangirls in general. IS allowing same-sex romances in this game would both surprise and not surprise me. Surprising because it's been status quo so far with Nintendo in regards to this matter. Then again, they already added the face-poking feature into if. I don't think anything else will surprise me, lol.
  23. His hairstyle on the model is very reminiscent of Inigo, at least from the backside view, but the portrait doesn't really show that. Really though, I actually hope he doesn't look like Inigo as much as Luna looks like Severa.
  24. Not gonna lie, when it got to the face-rubbing/poking feature in the direct, I was seriously disappointed, lol. I laughed afterwards at all the awkward moments it could conceivably produce, but not before recoiling at its presentation. This feature works in games like Pokemon, and KH3D where it was used for the dream eaters, but I find it a bit unsettling that it's with other human(-oid) characters, and in FE no less (it didn't help that they were being invited into Kamui's room, which makes it kind of creepy). I'm sorry you have to feel that way because of others and I apologize if I'm going to end up coming across as rude and adding to the cesspool of negativity; however, while I can understand this kind of feature in otoges, it just seems out of place in FE. As stated by someone else in the thread, there's a certain dissonance between story and gameplay for certain characters to allow Kamui to just touch their faces or pat their heads, what have you. And to all the people that say Awakening pandered. I can agree with that. Granted, there was a reason for the marriage thing, even if the reason for it and its execution might feel semi-contrived, but you can argue that it was rooted in the gameplay. But this face-poking feature is just a tad much for me. What does it really add to the game when before -- and now -- it was fine just fighting beside other characters on the grid to build supports? If it's a "minigame" that helps build supports, I would've at least preferred an actual minigame with little gimmicks and rules, not just face-poking, lol. Unlike Phoenix mode and Casual mode, which are also "optional" and garnered much backlash, I feel that the face-rubbing thing doesn't have any real gameplay significance. :/ EDIT: I suppose you could make the argument that it makes building support points easier, but I can't see how they couldn't have just built a better minigame around building supports rather than simply face-poking. At the very least, I'm glad it's optional.
  25. Nobody can resist Valestein Castle. On that note, here's a comparison video of all the different arrangements of it over the years. I've never gotten the chance to play Ys Seven, but I've listened to the OST and I really like Vacant Interference too. Crossing Rage! is a great track as well. Actually, the whole OST for Seven is pretty phenomenal. Really fantastic stuff. And to celebrate Napishtim's release on Steam, here's Ernst -- though it's the jdk band version from the Ys Seven Mini OST:
