So, here's the final product to the splice (which can also be seen in the comp. topic.):
-
Finally got it done:
-
@Ptolemy: It's not the villager's shirt (Atleast, the main bulk of it isn't). It's the villager's bald head, reshaded, with the trim being parts of Artur's and Clarine's clothing.
-
Here's a WIP:
When done, this'll be my entry into this week's splice comp.
-
So, two things to show.
First, a map I decided to make recently:
I'm sure that there's several issues, such as tile-spamming and/or incorrect tile use, so criticize away.
Second, some additions to my most-recent splice comp. entry:
Comment and point out flaws as necessary.
-
Why do people enter great entries every time I also enter? ;_;
Anyway, voted Lumi for being incredibly smooth while still being noticeably different.
-
Just dropping this off.
-
Trying to cut down the amount of easily discernable pieces in another splice:
My entry from the 12th Splice Competition. Still trying to change the chin-line some. C+C?
-
I said partial because Nintendo/IS made the original mugs.
I'll be making a chibi for it anyway, but if you won't use it then you don't have to.
-
@The Doc.) Sure, under two conditions:
-you give me partial credit for the assembling of the splice.
-I finish the chibi first.
@The other two) Thank you for your comments.
-
So, I tried to attempt to sheet out a few mugshots I've spliced:
(Excuse the blank space.)
(Still working on chibi.)
First try at something like this. C+C?
-
I'm in 11th grade, though I could have graduated from high school this year if I pushed myself.
I'm lazy when it comes to extra work, though, so that didn't happen.
-
...Oh. Stupid non-updated first post.
Well...are Linde and Samson free?
-
Jeorge and Tomas.
Whoo, horribad team o' mine!
-
A'ight, so how I made my entry (I'm assuming OPV in this process):
HEAD:
-The bald part is part of Lyn's hair, reshaded.
-The chin structure is combined from Fir's (which is stretched a tad) and Lyn's.
-The nose is Fir's nose, reshaded a skin tone darker, and Lyn's nose combined.
-The eyes are Lyn's, shrunk.
-The eyebrows are a combo of Lyn's and Fir's, then fixed up.
-The ear is also a Lyn-Fir combo.
-The tattoo is the red design on Lyn's clothing.
-The mouth is Lalum's, stretched and recolored.
HAIR:
-Most of the hair is the left portion of Fir's hair. Part of her ponytail is also used.
-Lalum contributed the piece of hair that points nearly straight up.
-The furthest back strand was from Lyn.
BODY, Neck and Chest:
-Most of the neck is Lyn's, stretched out.
-Fir's neck became the left side of the neck.
-The muscle definition is a piece of Lyn's hair (For the left side) and Fir's hair (For the right)
-The clavicles are Lalum's, stretched a length.
BODY, Arms:
-The shoulder armor's trim is pieces of the trim on Lyn and Fir's clothing.
-Most of the shading on the armor are several bits and pieces of shading from the three mugs, fitted as necessary.
-The fur tuft on the strap is hair from all three of them.
-The strap itself is made predominantly from Lalum's shirt-straps, with Lyn's shirt-clip added on.
-The bare arm is also Lyn's head, shrunk down and reshaded.
Dat's how I did it.
-
My entry. '.'b
-
So, I want you guys' opinions on something.
Should I enter this into the 29th Splice Competition?
(Yes, it IS a splice for those who think it isn't.)
Now, the reason I'masking this is because I added a good chunk of shading to it, which would probably nullify the entry due to one of the rules. However, I haven't actually outright sprited something completely; thus, all the noticeable features of the splice are spliced. So, what's your opinion on the matter?
-
Rickard and Macellan.
-
Vyland and Caesar.
-
Draug and Catria.
-
So I choose my first unit now, yeah?
If so, I pick Wolf.
-
Sign me up, too. Been wanting to do something with Shadow Dragon.
-
Mah entry:
-
So, I've fixed up/added a few things to my most recent mug-splice compo entry:
The decal I added on the right's shoulderpad sucks in terms of shading, but C+C anyway.

I do agree with you that most of it doesn't look great, either anatomically or artistically. Will fix sometime.
In other news, I've made another map:
Western Isles has a very nice palette. Once again, point out the numerous, apparent flaws, as well as other comments.
