  1. I think I've seen it in action a lot of times, but I've always just continued to live with the fear that I could get dance-maged to death every time I play in the Arena. Thanks.
  2. In my mind, it's the kind of thing where you know it's probably a trap, but you go and challenge the boss anyway.
  3. They pretty much all do, since I'm at 690. People like Nino come with one already anyway. So I can just mostly not care about potential danced attack ranges from ranged units that have Assists?
  4. I feel like when you're told your not-lover is at this very moment getting hounded by undead dragons, you would ask a powerful sage to help him. I certainly didn't interpret it as Celica already giving up at that point.
  5. The two rivers one. It's hard to divert everything to the river, because there's always going to be one guy stuck, and everyone and their mother runs a dancer, so their -blade mage or archer can reach you. The oasis one is actually fine.
  6. I HATE HATE the new map with the fort tile square in the middle. That map is waaaaaaaaaay too small. There's no strategy involved; it's literally a straight DPS check to see if you can one-shot their team first, or if anything you leave in the fort tiles can survive. If you can't do any of those two, then you've basically lost the map, especially if they have -blade Mages. You can't do cool things like separating the enemies and whatnot, you just pray you live through turn 1. In other news, 4798 in Tier 15 is Rank 3608. I have my Defense win with Anna (how), so I'm switching back to my cancer team.
  7. Huh, I found the non-merged tier (660~680) to be rather tame compared to anything above. 690 is when the horrors truly show up (also my only method of reaching that tier involves a poor team comp). I will say, there is one map currently in rotation (the one that basically funnels you into a straight line) to be very -blade Mage friendly, and it's extremely hard to deal with them if the enemy has more than one. If you can't beat em, join em. Eirika + Nino is already a pretty solid combination, and you can optimize an Olivia to help out too. I don't think you're completely done.
  8. It's like the combo attack you see all the time in movies and stuff, where they freeze someone then burn the ice down, except in reverse... Lol, I just imagined Cymbeline dropping a scoop of ice cream instead of the meteor.
  9. Well, controversy is bred from people; a fictional character doesn't plot ways to anger people through the screen.
  10. He's just...handing out ice cream... A Thunder attack that freezes enemies is pretty funny though. I have Fury on my Rein The magic is slowly killing him
  11. Hm, I see. I only check Gauntlet threads every now and then, and I didn't catch them.
  12. I finally slapped Iceberg on my Reinhardt (he's +Res), and it feels very wrong. Why is everything dying?
  13. I was Team Lucina, and I just didn't pay attention to the thread at all lol. I didn't even need to play. It feels like almost everyone on here despises Camilla though, and she won, so clearly we're in the minority I guess.
  14. Hana, or Nino? Well, I have two Ninos, one 3* and one 4*. I think they both have bad Bane/Boons though.
  15. The multiplayer meta in Fates was honestly very off-putting. Aside from the abuse of mechanics like Copycat, having to min-max and go out of my way to overbuff certain units are two things that I really dislike doing for some reason. If there is any player to player interaction, I hope battling each other isn't the only option.
  16. I feel like Eirika's scenario with the Stone of Renais is much more well-executed than Celica's final arc in this game; Chapter 4 and 5 Celica was a bit unfortunate. With Eirika, she still held on to that one glimmer of hope that Lyon would come back, and when it was crushed, she steeled herself to end Fomortiis. I did find myself screaming "WHAT ARE YOU STOOPID" at Eirika, but it didn't feel like a forced excuse for things to feel more desperate, but rather important to Eirika's development. With Celica, she just spent a lot of time keeping her emotions bottled up, and then throwing a little tantrum about how no one understands her (well...like a real woman...). It was honestly a little bit annoying, and I was a bit disappointed and irritated every time they brought it up. It sucks how useless she becomes in Chapter 5, becoming really single-minded and negative about sacrificing herself and stopping Duma, just so Alm can save her and give her hope.
  17. I don't think I've seen any Eirika + Nino fanart yet. That needs to change.
  18. Well, in the old thread, I even wrote how much Atk Setsuna needs to kill the Thieves.
  19. Well, there really wasn't that much dialogue to go around in the original Gaiden, but Celica doesn't have this big internal struggle about sacrificing herself to save everyone and Alm in the original, which means all of this development is new to Echoes. She is lured to the Tower by Jedah, but her intentions are not clearly stated in the original; I personally never interpreted it as her willingly going up just to sacrifice herself to save everyone and Alm. It felt more like Jedah deceived her and trapped her, instead of Celica giving up.
  20. Oh, I meant the Thieves in this GHB specifically. There is no dragon that can tank Kagerou in the Arena as far as I know. Yeah, a lot of people forgot that anything not infantry could deal with the Thieves for a good while when this GHB first came out.
  21. Yeaaah... Chapter 4 doesn't do Celica any justice. The entire plot thread of Celica sacrificing herself wasn't in Gaiden too iirc, so the monkeys at IS did it again.
  22. Also, his reveal actually did completely nothing. He told Celica his true identity so he could convince her to not throw her life away, but she does it anyway.
  23. iirc the Sword Cav doesn't die to Kagerou, even if you have Life and Death, but L&D Kagerou can't tank the thieves to begin with. Oh, I see. I left Ursula alone on turn 1 on purpose, because if you kill both the Thief and Ursula at once, the chokepoint becomes super crowded, and I don't think anyone other than Eldigan or Xander can move in front Kagerou and F!Robin to protect them while also not dying themselves. Skill inheritance might have changed that though, not sure.
