1. The translations group (and I'd say Serenes too) does not support piracy. You need to buy a physical version of the game and a 3DS of a certain firmware to play it. (The patcher requires you to have your own dumped copy of the game - I won't state anything about piracy). 2. There is no existing stable Nintendo 3DS emulator. Citra barely even works right now.

Arguably, it can. Should you pay more attention to the actual game itself, there is no instance where dragon Kamui actually uses their breath to attack - much less with water. In fact, the most it gets is Kamui whipping them with their tail. You'll notice that occasionally when dragon Kamui walks around or whips an enemy, there is a water splash that appears on-hit or on-step. Also, remember that this is not an attack move, it's an item you have equipped in your inventory. If you have a problem with the patch, you're free to use FEATS and change your own copy of the patch files, we don't care if you do. (Sound "cool" enough? That's just...plain stupid imo). Casual mode retreat lines will be added eventually. Skinship lines is a question for another time (but if we can, we will, just not now).

Fanfic Writers - Want to play your fanfic in-game?
luyairis replied to luyairis's topic in Fire Emblem Fates
Mmm...getting the patcher to work with the English version wouldn't be very hard, I would imagine. I'll ask Scires about it (since the game is probably similar to Awakening in terms of code) Making Iago as a playable character...that would take a lot of extra resources, but seeing as our group can make dlc for If....well I wouldn't dismiss the idea. -
Although many people might already know about this... While working on the FE:if fan translation, naturally, I got to learn about the code. And surprisingly, editing it to what you want is, well, very simple. Simple enough that you could be up and off implementing your own script in under an hour. (Actually applying the patch is a different case). I'm just wondering if any fanfic writers here are interested in doing such a project. If there is enough interest, I'll write an entire guide on how to do so. (I won't write a fanfic myself ofc). Notes: - A "script" of all chapters will be provided after the fan translation is complete. - The coding is very similar to what you can use in FEITS - the guide can be found here. - Whether or not your 3DS can actually use your own patch is an advanced matter. More on that later. - It may seem obvious, but you can edit EVERY aspect of the game - any conversations, any item names, etc... you can add characters, remove them, etc. This works for all items, chapters, and supports. Edit1: I should make this more clear, but you'll edit the text files on your computer, then patch it back onto your 3DS.

We mentioned this a while back, but the only translated files we'll make available to the public are the ones that have been released in the most recent patch. If you want to use those files, you can either use SciresM's FEAT on the patch files, or I've uploaded the files onto Pastebin here. If you can't read the code, there is a code-removing program that can remove it for you (in .txt format), but it isn't perfect and misses some lines. If you want a perfect copy of the script, I would wait until we finish the full patch, and then ask and see if the editors are willing to go through that again. If you contact the translators individually (or in your case, me), you might have some luck, but you also might not. Personally, I'm not in the mood to release any IK files before patch release.

Just a small heads-up warning: Patching the Invisible Kingdom / Touma path is probably going to be a lot more complicated than patching the normal two paths - Simply put, one would need to decrypt, extract, patch, and re-encrypt the files. This will also involve generating twice as many Xorpads. Cellenseres is looking into this, we'll try to implement this as part of the patcher. At any rate, Cellen says it should take a few days. (Luckily, this may also work on the normal DLC). Edit: there's another way but...consider that not available for now :)

Yup, just for future reference: ソフトの更新があります。Sofuto no koushin ga arimasu. "There is a software update." Ⓨ更新する Koushin suru. Update. Ⓐソフトをはじめる Sofuto wo hajimeru. "Start program" The options on the other picture basically ask you how you want to download it. The top option basically is just "Download right now and here" while the lower option takes you to the E-shop to download it. And the bottom option やめる means Go Back / Stop. So basically, press A again.
