  1. +2 in all stats still sounds pretty good, even if its not as broken as it was in Awakening.
  2. I think they probably did it that way because the Hoshidans were actually supposed to be his real siblings, but they changed that just so that no waifu gets left behind.
  3. The fact that I don't like his Japanese voice aside...I doubt they'll make him speak Japanese when every other character will be speaking in English. It'd be especially strange if he's speaking in Japanese while all of the clearly Japanese Hoshidans aren't. Besides, if you wanted to listen to FE characters screaming in Japanese, isn't there usually a setting for that?
  4. Even then, it's commented on in Lyn's Story that she's dressed strangely for a dancer.
  5. My photo-editing skills are second only to none. You can hardly even tell this was originally an Awkward Zombie comic.
  6. I hope all the work the Treehouse might have to go through will open IS's eyes to the international audience. There's just so much content that's difficult to cover up without detracting from the gameplay. Last time, the localization team made a half-baked attempt to cover it up by calling married cousins "companions" and throwing out the infamous "I'm actually 1,000 years old and totally not a kid even though I totally would be by dragon standards!" excuse. But now there's a different localization team, and I'm sure that NoA doesn't want to have to deal with this again in the future. ...Eh, maybe they'll just decide that there is too much for them to cover up and just embrace it. I hope not. I really don't want to see Fire Emblem continue down this path. And of course, there's always the chance of IS continuing to neglect its international audience regardless of if NoA wants them to or not. They do seem really intent on keeping it Waifu Emblem. And about Soleil's/MaKamui support...I think people are twisting it around too much and overreacting. However, if NoA has payed even a little attention to the fans, there is no way they'll let it slide. It's not worth dealing with the outraged fans. Personally, I'm far more bugged by Soleil's personality then that one support. She's a pretty distasteful portrayal of homosexuals. I'd be fine if they made it so she wasn't bisexual in the first place(but then again, there would probably be people who see that as an act of homophobia).
  7. Then you've got the problem of Nah not being Nohrian or a princess. There's also the problem that the Nohr Princess's dragon form is entirely different from Nah's in just about every way. I think it'd make more sense just to make a new Manakete class just for her and her children. ...Also, I'm pretty sure that Nohr Prince/Princess can't be shared with the Marriage Seal. It can only be passed down to children.
  8. What's so adorable about openings revealing your rear for no real reason?
  9. Even if Mikoto's advisers or subordinates or whatever aren't corrupt, you'd think there would still be a couple questionable people in the military, at least. Maybe a ruthless enemy war captain or something who you fight as a boss at one level in the Nohr route or something.
  10. Vote Thor Odinson for FE15's new art director. Yeah. It gets so bad about appealing to fetishes that it's obnoxious. If Camilla had simply just shown cleavage, I probably would of gotten over it pretty quickly. The problem is that they've put so much emphasis onto it that it just looks really weird to me. I don't find Camilla's design to be that "sexy", just really weird and distracting.
  11. I'd sit down and quote things one by one, but there's just too much for me to respond to. New threads can have a tendency to boom here, huh? Oh hey did someone mention the Last Airbender? I love that show! I suppose I focused a bit too much about characters in the OP. I had intentionally only meant that to be a small mention that Nohr has more lunatics then Hoshido, but it ended up being half of what I complained about. Oh geez. That's just stupid. If they're going to do that, they should at least try to guilt you in Hoshido to. This Hoshido bias is just annoying.
  12. When I heard that you could pick either side of the war in this game, I was pretty excited. In the last game, Awakening, we fought against Plegia was a desert country ruled by a mad king and who's primary religion is basically a bunch of psychopathic demon worshipers. Even the two characters who you could recruit from Plegia, Henry and Tharja, were both pretty messed up in their own special ways. I figured that even if the Hoshido route made it a typical fight of good vs evil, the Nohrian route would of had a lot more focus on grey morality. From my understanding now, however, the only "grey" morality in the Nohr route was if loyalty to your adoptive siblings was really worth invading Hoshido over. I haven't spoiled much for myself, but it sounds like that everyone on both side agrees that Nohr is basically the bad guy here. There's the characters as well. When I played Sacred Stones, I loved how not one of the 5 characters you could recruit from Grado were bad people. While there are several good people in Nohr(like Arthur), a good chunk of them are still pretty messed up anyway. There's Zero, who's sadistic. There's Belka, who'll kill anyone for money. And then, worst of all, there's Pieri, who kills innocents for fun(and then they say "oh but it's okay she's a good person she just doesn't know any better"). Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe they did try to justify Hoshido's invasion a little. I really hope so, but after hearing people's impressions of the game's plot, that really doesn't seem to be the case. Do they even try to provide any justification for the war other then "Because Garon says so"?
  13. Well, I won't disagree with that. When I heard you could pick side with the country that'd usually be the bad guys in most Fire Emblems, I figured that there'd be a lot more grey morality in that version. I was hoping that we'd possibly be able to see the bad side of Hoshido on the Nohr route, or that we'd see some level of justification for the war, but from the sounds of it, we don't see either. The poor crops and economy of Nohr meant they could of justified the war somewhat by saying it was out of desperation. Instead, it sounds like the war is just because Garon's a huge jerk while Mikoto isn't. Ah, I'm just derailing this thread now, aren't I? I'll stop. Maybe I'll make a new thread for this.
  14. If it was simply just revealing, I would of gotten over it. My problem is that it just looks plain stupid and out of place with both her personality and the rest of her armor.
  15. I think the problem is that no one can agree on what a Mary Sue is, exactly. There's no one specific definition. Just because someone isn't a bad person doesn't necessarily mean they're a Mary Sue.
  16. Is that really how Effie looks from the rear? Oh, for the love of Grima...wow. Pants or no pants, that is just the stupidest thing ever. Even if you don't care about the "practicality" of what they're wearing, that's still just so dumb.
  17. Oh, I missed that we were talking about Extravagance to. Oops.
  18. Let's not forget that this works against you as well.
  19. I don't even care about the practicality of not wearing pants on horseback or whatever. I just don't want to be staring at someone's butt whenever I send a knight into battle. It just looks ridiculous. Sexual appeal is hardly a replacement for aesthetic appeal. Just look at Dark Mages.
  20. The way some people are freaking out, you'd think they're actually naked. Are you expected to pretend the swimsuits aren't there or something?
  21. I dunno, I'd probably be far more worried about Camilla's zombie wyvern then her cleavage.
  22. Marisa in Sacred Stones is a professional warrior, and she doesn't use magic or ride of wyvern or whatever.
  23. As far as personality goes, Sophie and Ophelia are the only children characters who really seem to interest me. I probably won't go out of my way to recruit any of the others, expect maybe Lutz and Midoriko. In Awakening, I felt obligated to recruit every child character. But in this game, the explanation for them is so forced that it kind of ruins them for me. I'll still probably S-rank some characters if it happens naturally, though, just to play their paralouge and give the character a second chance. Even if it's a character I hate, like Syalla, I'll probably play it for the level, at least. Anyway, my votes went to Syalla and Eponine. I never liked Tharja, even before I saw her supports with Noire, and I'm sure I'll feel the same for her clone. Eponine and Soleil are my least favorite because of their extreme gimmicks. I probably would of liked Eponine if she was mostly focused on the wannabe "righteous thief" thing, but her extreme Yaoi-fangirl parody gimmick seems kind of obnoxious. Soleil's in a similar spot. I would of liked her if she was focused on being a "cool" mercenary girl or something, but 90% of her character seems to be about how obsessed with girls she is while another 5% seems to be about how she doesn't care if people see her changing clothes. Also, she just seems to be a distasteful representation of homo/bisexuals altogether (and don't you pull that "differences in culture" argument on me. A reason for something isn't the same as a justification for it). ...It's seems that too many of the future children are just either too bland or too over the top. They're too focused on contrasting with or being extreme embodiment of their fathers' gimmicks.
