  1. Linhardt, the art of doing nothing, nice XD I'm surprised nobody made one for Hilda yet
  2. Elincia, Nephenee and Brom are currently ahead, that sounds like the perfect top 3 for part 2 to me.
  3. Hmm, interesting. I never really thought about why I value the things I value, no better time to start than the present, I guess. What I value most is kindness. I feel that so many problems stem from people not being kind to others (or themselves). Maybe it's because my parents taught me to be kind? Maybe it's because people have been unkind to me and I don't ever want to make anyone feel what I've felt? I'm not sure, maybe something will come to mind later.
  4. Good character study here. Elincia is my number 4 favorite character of the Tellius series (Mia, Nephenee and Jill right before her, Ilyana and Ike right behind her). I agree that her story in RD is better, but the generic base of her story in PoR doesn't make me enjoy her less there. Her late joining time in PoR never really bothered me (plenty of bexp to go around), but I agree that making her available earlier (maybe as an unpromoted staff-only unit) could have made her better as a unit. Nothing wrong with her role in PoR either, this story is really about Ike's journey and she's great as supporting cast here. When it comes to RD, I would've liked her to have a bigger role. Not in part 2, part 2 is great, but in part 3. RD to me is more about the bigger picture. Part 1 about Daein's liberation, part 2 about the civil unrest in Crimea, and part 3 about the laguz finally being fed up by the Begnion senators. While I enjoy playing with the Greil Mercenaries, I do believe Ike's role should have been reduced in the second half of part 3, focusing more on the rulers including Elincia, Micaiah, Caineghis/Skrimir, Tibarn and eventually Sanaki before the final conflict starts. But that's just my take, PoR and RD are still great regardless, and so is Elincia. (Also, while I personally just really like Mia and Nephenee, I do agree Elincia is a "better" character, only Jill beats her in Tellius imo.)
  5. Well, that makes my playthrough idea even harder, thanks! ^^
  6. Has anyone tried skipping a full month before? I can't check right now but I wonder if the instructing is automated or completely skipped. Also, is the starting skill focus always the same as what characters teach seminars in? Can't find starting focus anywhere online. (Yes I'm planning on doing a hard mode challenge run wherein I have to skip everything monastery-related.)
  7. What I usually do when I want to conserve activity points is I plant flowers, then look at who likes the flowers I have at least 2 of, then give that student 2 flowers for 50 boost each. If they are already at 25, I still need to give them 2 gifts. (Added negative is that if a unit has 75 motivation, they get the same green smiley as 100 motivation and I often miss that I still need to give them a gift.)
  8. To be fair, doesn't every FE have classes that are clearly worse than others? Don't most FE have no endgame unmounted lance classes? (Though 3H allows you to unmount which grants more speed, which makes paladins a worthy unmounted lance endgame class to me.) And are 3H master classes really that much of a must? (Staying as paladin or assassin or swordmaster or sniper or warrior or whathaveyou is just fine, they don't need more of the same as master class.) Yes! This! I implemented this in my own tabletop game and the craziest ideas are the most fun. (Armored wyvern sorcerer anyone?)
  9. Oh I feel dumb now, I glossed over her 3/2 thinking it was her 4/3. I'm just happy Fir gets 3 new cards though, she's amazing. Thanks for setting me straight! ^^
  10. Fir got 3 cards confirmed? Where did I miss that? Cards usually only get added to the wiki once the set is released, I believe. But they were confirmed in a recent live stream.
  11. Definitely this. A Byleth MVP won't save me any points for dinner. But on topic, I always had the impression MVP meant "was in the most battles", but most kills could also definitely be it. But yes, the game never picks the one I truly think did the best work for MVP, sadly.
  12. I stopped seeing Byleth as an avatar and it fixes him/her for me. Had they not given Byleth the option of having a different name nor the terribly unnecessary dialogue options, (s)he would have been an okay character in my book. The absence of personality on purpose is interesting enough for me, since it is actually plot related. Gameplay also wouldn't need to change, if it's not weird that we're controlling Link in LoZ, it's not weird to walk around with Byleth as a character without them being an "avatar".
  13. I know it wasn't mentioned, but I really like the 3H class system. Level and skill prerequisites, but level is never capped.
  14. I really enjoy hard magic systems, like Avatar the Last Airbender and Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood. I like thinking about uses of this magic within the rules set by the story. Also shows that have an episode in which they acknowledge living without that show after it ends, lines like - "Things change Beastboy" and - "Summer ends Mabel" really tend to hit me.
  15. Depends, I guess. Let's consider these two situations: 1) Roy: "Hey Fir, those bandits were just being nice because they want to steal your super expensive Wo Dao, join us we're fighting those bandits." Fir: "Oh thanks, I'll join you." Roy: "Okay, now give me your sword, Rutger can use that much better." 2) Alm: "Oh I found a sword only I can wield, guess I'm just that special." Yeah, I'm all for team prf weapons. (Obviously these are not direct quotes, just how it comes across to me.)
  16. Interesting, I had not yet heard of Sintra, will be doing more research into this. I'd have to disagree. Foam is only as strong as the material you cover it with, so sure, if you use only foam it won't be durable at all. But Worbla, and other materials, need a base to be formed around, foam is perfect for that. That said, you do you, find what works for you and do that. 😃
  17. I wasn't suggesting you use cardboard for the final product, I was suggesting you use it to make mockups. That's a first version so you can make sure everything works and fits. If you were to make your first version with more expensive materials it will be very expensive if it ends up not fitting or not looking right. If the cheap cardboard armor works you can cut it up again and use it as a pattern for your final product. I know this sounds like a lot of work, and it is, but it's worth it. Once you have the cardboard patterns you can cut the pieces out of foam. After that you can cover the foam with worbla if you want it to be extra sturdy. Worbla is expensive though and there are cheaper ways to finish it, though they'll probably also be less sturdy. (I used woodglue before, don't use that for full armor, it's quite fragile.)
  18. Ryoma, that sounds like a tough one to make. I would recommend getting some cardboard boxes and use the cardboard to make mockups. If the mockups fit only then make the armor from foam using the mockup as pattern. If it's the design you're missing parts of, make them up yourself. If you're having trouble finding it I doubt anyone would notice (and even if you did, cosplay allows for any amount of creative freedom you want).
  19. Well, nice to meet you, now you can. Most of the game I play with a maximum of 6 combat units (+Zealot/Marcus for rescue-drops, meatshielding and village-visiting) On most maps that leaves plenty of deploy slots for Merlinus. The game gets so much easier if you give all experience to a core of 5 to 8 units. I get that this isn't everyone's preferred way of playing, but that's so great about this game, there's more than one way to play it, and at least one wherein Merlinus always has a deployment spot.
  20. Her faith rank seems high enough to still try going for Bishop, few levels in priest should get you there sooner. (or just buy the rank using renown) Otherwise, if you have the dlc, maybe Trickster? Not sure about its prerequisites, but sounds very possible.
  21. Really? They're not the best units, but units like Ignatz and Caspar seem far worse to me, and even they can be used fairly easily in normal mode or NG+ hard mode.
  22. Ah too bad, I'm late to the topic. So many of the pointers I know have been mentioned already, but here's my take. the four advantages of Beorc over Laguz: - Intellect - tools - magic - reproduction I always assumed she created them the same way Nergal created his puppets. They're just tools to be used in war, not actual beings. Not saying Nergal went through pregnancy, I'm saying Idunn creates them through magical means. Funny you'd mention that, Reyson was planning on using that shrine to kill all humans in the forest before changing his mind and using it to restore the forest.
  23. I always enjoy using "bad" units, most notable ones that have not been mentioned yet: Meg; I really enjoy her personality, however little there is of it. On normal mode she isn't even that terrible, her speed caps really fast which makes her a perfect candidate for the buckets of bexp you get. Also, having Meg wield Alondite in endgame is too much fun not to. Sophia; Granted, is her starting chapter she can't do anything beside digging for treasures. And then the next chapter requires the biggest ton of babying you've ever seen. But the outcome is great, she has plenty of speed to cancel out her awful con, and flux deals plenty of damage. Lots of work for not much reward, but I like it. Ashe; Yeah I said it, Ashe is bad. But this guy is so sweet I can't not use him. No characters are truly hard to use in 3H, but he's definitely consistently one of my worst units in any class.
  24. Yes I've used it plenty of times on hard mode, and sometimes it's useful but in late game more often than not it's not too useful (though very nice to have whenever another unit misses 1 dmg to ohko). But I notice it maddening mode I'm often needing three or more units to take out an enemy which makes 3 additional damage a lot. Sounds like a fun playthrough challenge on hard mode, Byleth can only equip heal and recover...
  25. I like creative ideas and good storytelling, and anime is a great way to combine these two. Yet, saying I like anime might give the wrong idea. Basically it's the same as saying I like movies. Sure there are plenty of movies that I really like, but probably over 99% of all movies I wouldn't like. Same for anime. Netflix seems to have found the value of anime, for my country more and more anime is being added. (not sure about quality, haven't watched them) Though when looking at something's popularity, one should look outside their bubble. If I were to poll only my friends, then yes I'd see anime was quite popular. But I bet if I were to poll my family, Disney and Nickelodeon would be the only animation they know. Can't say much else about the subject though, don't watch too many anime, beside frequently rewatching fullmetal alchemist brotherhood and avatar the last airbender. que outraged people over me calling avatar anime
