  1. Would it be a terrible ideas for Generals to have access to the entire Weapon Triangle? I mean it is a bit overkill, but Generals are already slow and suffer from low movement. Unless all Armor Knights become designed like Effie, it seems like a reasonable buff.
  2. FE is a numbers game governed by RNG. I suppose that genuine balance is impossible to achieve for something like FE so trying to avoid anything gamebreaking is more realistic. Never thought about it that way.
  3. I agree with your points on Conquest in regards to balance. Aside from CQ's decent map design and the fact that the higher growth rates did not impede variation among units, CQ enemy units remain consistent in regards to the threat they pose on the player and I say this since most FE games have pathetic lategame enemies. The weapons system and stat boosters within Fates kinda threw off the balance IMHO. Pair up did the same to an extent, but since it was not exclusive to the player, it was a little more balanced yet highly abusable.
  4. I was never too fond of reclassing. Took away from the individuality of every unit and made giving skills to a character too much of a hassle, though it does make PMU runs more interesting. I do not mind branched promotions however.
  5. While still maintaining a challenge? How would you go about approaching mechanics, growth rates, stat caps, classes, unit balance, promotion, skills, map design, etc? I have played most of the Fire Emblem games, sans the NES titles, and personally felt that every single one of them had been broken one way or another.
  6. Would lower growths and lower caps to stats be better for gameplay? Don't get me wrong, it feels good to see a unit level up with several stat gains, but higher growths overall make gameplay rely too much on it, especially since enemy stats are designed after unit's averages. Keeping growths low but not too low would increase variance to gameplay and give each run a fresh experience. The growths of the newer games make stats so inflated that the only way to control it is via pair ups and stat boosters.
  7. Of course Classic mode should stay. While players usually reset upon a unit's death, permadeath encourages strategy in keeping everyone alive. Without it, you feel no qualms against using your units as meatshields to complete a chapter.
  8. I have yet to play the Tellius games but to my knowledge, the cavaliers and knights are split based on weapon usage. I have played FE4 before and this title did the same. For gameplay balance, should these classes be weapon locked? I feel this should happen moreso for Cavaliers considering their mobility and access to multiple weapons gives them an unfair advantage over other base classes.
  9. Good point. I am replaying FE7 right now and I am beginning to realize the abundance of unpromoted ebemy units late game. As for Conquest, I thought IS did a great job at scaling enemies with the player.
  10. Do you prefer units whose growth rates are higher or lower? In earlier FE games, growth rates were, on average, far lower. By Awakening, growth rates reached a point were it was difficult to NOT max out a unit's stats before Level 20, though Fates toned it down a little.

  12. Just a random thought I had earlier. I know that healing staves exist within the universe, but there has to be some sort of limit to their power judging from the amount of characters with scars, eyepatches, etc.
  13. Never heard anyone discuss this before. Normally within the games, I would like for there to be at least 2 units of each class. I'll take FE7 for example. As much as I love that game, I can't deny that there are way too many Cavaliers you can potentially recruit in comparison to the number of potential Shamans you can get, RIP Canas. However for classes like Dancers, obviously the player should be limited to only one for balance reasons.

    Birthdays.

Same here. I keep my birthday a secret to my friends since I cannot stand being in the limelight.
  15. Throughout my life, I would normally go to bed around 10 PM on school nights, waking up at 6:40 and having spent 45 minutes trying to fall into unconciousness. On days where I didn't have school, I would go to bed around 11 PM and awaken anywhere from 7 to 8 AM. Several months ago (I do not remember the exact month), I challenged myself to awaken everyday at 6 AM, setting up a timer for myself before going to bed at 10; I did this out of sheer boredom and wanting to extend my day by an hour or two. My sleeping patterns shifted in that I would awaken every morning at 6. A few weeks afterwards, I would develop constipation and began taking a laxative, My constipation went away, but I experienced stomach pains in the middle of the night. I stopped taking this laxative, yet I managed to developed insomnia as a result, causing me to awaken at 2 in the morning. I began drinking coffee in the morning to stay awake and keep off sleep-deprived cravings for food. At night I began using a blue light filter and started drinking chammomile tea to fall asleep. My insomia would go away eventually and my ability to fall asleep had improved (I would slip into unconsciousness within 15 minutes). About a month ago, I began awakening once or twice a night to urinate, which was strange since my water intake did not change. I was annoyed by this, but was still able to slip back to sleep regardless. A few days ago however, I would awaken every morning at 4 out of hunger. I do not know why this happened but I am assuming this originated from intuitive eating (I used to count calories in meals so perhaps I am underfeeding myself), I also suspect that daylight savings may have messed up my body's circadian rhythms, causing hunger to occur so early. Is there anyway to go back to my original, incosistent sleeping pattern? TLDR: Tried to structure my sleeping patterns, ended up making them completely unstructured.

    Birthdays.

To those of you who eat out on birthday celebeations, where do you go? My birthday is coming up soon and I need some ideas.

    Birthdays.

How do you guys go about birthdays, whether it be your own or a love one's? I myself am generally apathetic to them- treat it like another day. I normally just go out and have dinner somewhere with my family- nowhere fancy; something like Japanese food suffices for everyone.
  18. I do not know if you have the time to explain but please do. Over the last few months as I read about calories, I have developed a slight interest in nutrition. This is actually my first time interacting with an individual who was a biochem major. If you don't mind, can you also explain to me what happens to the bodies of people who consistently do high calorie challenges like Matt Stonie? I watch videos of individuals like him and I can't help but sit in awe.
  19. In other words, what was the first few generations of the series like for a fan? The competitive aspect of it?
  20. Pretty much the consensus here. IDK why people are beating a dead horse here.
  21. Thanks for the in-depth response. I implement some meats during my lunch and dinner meals. Here is my usual diet: Breakfast: -Bowl of Quaker Oats oatmeal (amount varies as i do not measure; about 2/3 cup) -Sugarfree Jam Mid morning snack -Apples Lunch -Sandwich with 2 slices of bread, a slice of Bar S Turkey, and a slice of Kraft cheese. Afternoon snack -Bean tacos, oatmeal, cereal, prunes, whatever I feel like eating. Dinner -Cup of Rice -Cup of Spinach -Veggie and meat stirfry, sometimes baked fish, sometimes pasta, never the same meal.
  22. How much more should I be eating daily? This is not everything I eat in a day, just in regards to fats and sugars.
  23. I consume a cup of rice, two slices of whole wheat bread, a tbsp of olive oil, a glass of dairy milk, apples, bananas, prunes, and veggies daily. Is this sufficient?
  24. What should be a source of fats and sugars be? Also, I am not keeping track of what foods I am eating. When I say "overeat" I don't mean stuffing my face with sugary foods, I mean eating foods more than what their serving size constitutes.
  25. I disagree, I actually allow some fat and sugar throughout the week. I sneak some foods like waffles, pastries, and sugary cereal here and there.
