I ALSO ACCIDENTIALLY LOST THE UPDATE. FUCK!
Ah, the pain... I know exactly what you're talking about. Sorry, man.
Also, I didn't know shift+enter could do that. Although, I think I just got lucky. Because my updates are always so image-heavy, the site always asks me to fullfill a captcha before posting. Now I understand why it occassionally popped up for seemingly no reason...

Hmmmm...
Hm... no, not telltale, I still want games.
...minesweeper? Perfect!
Ah, rats, windows 10 doesn't have that. Curse you!
Okay, let's check out my steam library... perhaps there, I shall find the answer I seek.
Lego games! Perfect! No way I'm losing in those!
Welcome, everyone, to this new Let's Play of Lego Star Wars: the Complete Saga!
I have a file at 55% already, let's go with that one so we don't have to sit through the story missions.
I always liked Qui-Gon. He's a cool jedi.
Die, Anakin! I've stopped the Original Trilogy from happening!
Die, volatile materials!
Die, bin!
Die, random innocent people!
Die, alien cosmonaut--
Uh...
Let's... just move on.
What are you laughing at, Solo?! You--
Crap! I almost dropped a major spoiler-bomb! Good thing I re-read this... nothing that can't be fixed, though!
Spoilerdied a pathetic death in the new movies!
That's far more disgraceful than failing to kill an alien with a collar larger than his head!
...Sabre Knight alien? Wow. Mind-blown.
Today, my totally original OC (original original character), the great jedi master of legend Wan-Obi Nobi, stronger than any other, will face off against Count Dooku.
Before I forget, let's enable the stud magnet. No time to waste focusing on grabbin' coins!
Prepare to face Wan-Obi Nobi's wrath, Count!
No! I died? How could I have died!? These games are so easy!
Okay, made it. Totally didn't die a bunch of times between these two screenshots.
Now, DIE, COUNT DOODOO! I'VE SAVED THE GALAXY!!
Oh, that caused the level to reset? I can't kill him right now? How stupid. Okay, fastforwarding a bit...
That's got to be how he dies. He'll be left behind to die in the lava while my superior Original Character, Wan-Obi Nobi, stands victorious on this weird tower overhere.
Yep, no reason at all to worry. Let us holster the lightsaber now.
What?! How did you make it here?!
Shit, he threw me off the tower! Oof!
R-Regardless! It is irrelevant! Shove me around all you want, for it won't save you! I'll kill you with Wan-Obi Nobi's own two hands!
Perish! Hah, he tried to block my strike, but he missed. These games are so easy... and so buggy! I'm clearly stabbing him through the crotch, yet he isn't taking any damage!
Oi, get back here! Cowardly old fool! Cease your defiance of the laws of physics!
Ow! Y-you're still more wounded than I am!
Bullshit! I'm not losing! Not in a lego game! That would be... the ultimate... aaaargh!
Stop flipping around, get back in my lightsaber's way, and DIE!! In whatever order you want, so long as the result is your DEATH!!
Wait, what?! Where the heck do you think you're going, floor?!!?
The floor below me sank into the lava!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
...
You know what?
Let's just go back to FE. At least there, it is to be expected that I suffer and fail like an idiot.
...
...auuurgh...
Part 27 - I could use some bOates.
Heck yeah, at least that pun was a victory. Point for Ruben!
On 18/3/2018 at 12:40 AM, Dayni said:Bless, he's(you're?) trying.
Good on him.
Well this is a surprise.
Could have gone a lot worse.
It could've indeed.
Uh, sort of.
What?
She's got a higher--
She has a higher SOMETHING than Raigh? Blasphemous piece of software! Underhanded tactics to slander Raigh's good name!
But what if she's Quasimodo?
She's ugly enough. Hah! Sorry, Dorothy. I really am.
Again, the dragons at a time where I can't trust many units to be able to tank them in the face. The desert movement limits being able to get anyone out of there.
Eh, fair enough, although there still is no reason to go there at all. As I proved, the warp isn't that hard to get. You don't even have to fight the dragon if you play well.
Let's see what I can dispute:
So the fact he says this wasteland makes the argument more difficult. I will say that as is they've kind of written all over themselves. Saying they met the village here and elsewhere is a contradiction, plain and simple. There's another thing to add however. It's Roy who says they went into the desert from somewhere else, not Sophia. He could be assuming he found them elsewhere when they were here in the first place.
Any retcon could argue Sophia might not have the full extent of the history, but still.
So, FE7's plot relies on Shitia being a crap historian. I can live with that.
Well, I think I'll make the point this doesn't necessarily contradict anything again.
Athos did do so..... Until he pulled it out and died afterwards. It's possible that Sophia doesn't know that it was returned by someone else. Again, out my hole.
Eh...
34 attack with Bolting.
HO NO.
Ho yes! Fire motherfucking emblem SIX, bitches! And it's only going to get better from here!
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa..........................
Sorry, I had to get some water there, my throat got hoarse again. Too easy with a cold, but still.
Your throat died. It's an understandable reaction. I also wanted to die, but here we are.
Can I join you?
No. Get out of Lyn's mode before wishing death, at least!
Well, the devil and mercy are rarely in common.
I suppose that's true.
I know that feeling.
This too.
Good to know I'm not alone here.
I'd think it's more like your feelings got stuck in a blender with a pile of sludge and nuclear rods.
Jeez, that's brutal. About par for the course, I'd say.
That hurts to look at. This map is infuriating and I don't know why I didn't mention that elsewhere.
Oh, you'll get to feel my pain... I don't know when, but some day, you'll reach the FE7 counterpart of this chapter... and that night, I shall fare you well.
No, by the end of it I'm more like this for you:
Hahahahah... once again, it's a perfectly reasonable reaction to pretty much everything going awry, from the game itself to the god damned technical side of things.
Just, the sheer misery this chapter wrought.
And we're only half way through it!
I saw it coming. I wasn't baying for her blood so much as predicting it.
Grumble grumble...
That.
That right there is just the right type of fuck you to end this on. I was expecting dead Raigh, but well clearly it's building up to something.
Oh, no, they're saving Raigh for a better ocasion, no doubt. They've already broken me, they don't want to finish me just yet. The RNGoddess preys on suffering, not death.
Is this what breaks this playthrough?
So I have to guess, tears are what the next update is made of?
Actually, no. More on that later.

What the hell was wrong with just giving him Apocalypse!?
Also, Sophia doesn't have Apocalypse either, which is a relief.
And what did they give her? OAENGUOPAERNBEIRGJLAKERNGIUADNLVALDIBVXZKLCVAIUWERFLWB?
Excellent. So... low-quality. Lovable!
Aaand that is 30 shots that were also worth shotting. Astounding.
Aren't I just the luckiest FE player or what?
Easy. Sophia is just making shit up.
Refer to my response to Dayni saying the same thing in a more... civil way.
Off to a great start.
Sniff...
Horribly Douglas. Fear not, you haven't falied as an entertainer yet.
Heheh. Thanks, man.
Oooo, colors. That's how you know someone is messed up.
Epilepsy! The horror! The horror!!
On 18/3/2018 at 9:35 AM, deskita said:Well I guess the effort that would've went into Sophia could now go into training Alan as one of your underlevelled units. After all you need sword units and you need cavaliers and he fits both criteria.
Oh, God, you're right... you're fucking right! No! Not Allen! Anyone but Boringman!
May I make up a storyline excuse to send Lance back into the frontlines? At least Lance is green... I like green.
19 hours ago, DestructionDragon360 said:B-best cav... Sophia... good level ups on lilina... why?! Why must the good die young?!
Because I can't win, that's why. If I were to win, I don't know, something would happen. I would be happy, AND WE CAN'T HAVE THAT, NOW CAN WE, FE6?!
19 hours ago, Goddess Serra said:Roy, can you please die?
What? Do you want to ruin me? I need Roy to seize!
Now seriously, why'd you say that? He didn't do much of note in the last update, aside from being part of the conversation that pointed out one of FE7's plot craters.
8 hours ago, Garlyle said:Sophia's dead? I saw that coming... Actually I'd be more surprised if she survives this chapter. Don't worry Ruben, it's not that a big loss, just bury her next to Cath.
Right, we still got Raigh.
But wows for that Lilina level up. How can you get so unlucky with her when she's the best character in the game?
Her Mag's--
Although her Mag is already capped,
Yeah, exactly.
so prepare that Guiding Ring you digged up last chapter. It will change your LIFE.
Hate to rain on your parade, but...
Yeah, Lilina'll have to wait until chapter 16.
SpoilerSo, after the last update, only the worst of tortures can be expected from this one, right?
Well, no. You see, I'll let you in on a little secret.
Ahem.
No more major dickmoves will happen in this chapter.
Yes! Indeed, the worst of the tortures mankind can fathom: boredom! Once again, this chapter has found a way to disappoint us, because Lilina getting an empty level is the last of the epic middle fingers of the chapter! From here on out, it's just ordinary stuff, more or less.
Still, don't skip the update. Just because it's not as impressive as the last one doesn't mean there isn't interesting stuff waiting ahead. And there's also important plot at the end, wink wink nudge nudge.
Oh, right, I forgot. There is one somewhat interesting thing that'll happen.
I'll try to train Cecilia. Yeah. After losing so much, I just... did whatever for the rest of the chapter. I wasn't really paying much attention to what I was doing.
Naturally, however, the Mercenary survives because I hate this game, but not nearly as much as it hates me. Gotta get Tate outta here... but not yet.
First, Saul may take care of the Mercenary.
Go ahead, then. Shoot! It won't save you!
Poor fool.
I was refering to myself, obviously.
Well, at least the floor trolled the enemy for once. Small victories...
For the love of all that is holy and unholy...
At this point, I checked Saul's inventory and noticed his tome was, once again, almost gone. I take it back, Roy, you're coming with us.
Now's when the floor sinks again. Wouldn't that be just fun?
Finally!
Not quite a level yet, sadly.
I make everybody move forward. I fear that tiny bridge will disappear.
Like the one Roy's still trying to cross! Run, run with haste, Boi! Get out of there before you drown!
Fliers! Disgraceful cheaters, they don't have to struggle with this chapter's horrible gimmick!
Also, he has an axereaver and capped strength. Why do I like this game, again?
Marcus'll face the enemy.
Hah! Not fooling me this time, asshat!
I... I don't even... urk...
Dorothy takes out the axereaver's companion.
Thank you, Dorothy, for not letting me down like the rest.
The Wyverns have fallen. Now, we just have to figure out...
...what to do about this sad display of utter despair.
The answer is, obviously, to wait until the game decides to give me my floor back. Once the time comes, Roy allows Saul to have a new tome, as we aren't out of the woods yet.
Nice. Now we just have to wait for the game to allow us to reach the boss. I'm having so much fun with this game!
Gah! The Sage can reach Roy!
Not Oates, though, so he won't die. Hmm... well, while we're here...
We might as well get that guy to waste his tome.
Hm. Maybe this isn't as much the game trying to bore me to death as it is the calm after the storm. Maybe I should be positive.
Yes... let's...
Beautiful level up. Everything he needs and more. Lacks defense, but he's a mage with access to nosferatu. I'll live with that.
Okay, that's it.
Look, an enemy! Marcus, do your thing.
I don't know, after the Pirate that hit Saul in the last update, I don't think there's anything left in this game that can impress me.
Also, the floor came back just in time for Roy to almost get nosferatu'd. Do I regret arena-abusing him to level 20? No, I don't. This game won't pull its punches, I won't either.
Grrr...
The ladies rain down death upon this dumbass.
I like Raigh's staff. It's got an emerald on top of it. It's cool.
See? Light magic has its uses.
Dorothy's weaponery is in a rather dire state. But iron is all her great stats need.
Oates! Stop it! Haven't you done enough damage to us already?
A magic, and we've 3 full chapters before we even get Aureola! Almost there, everybody!
That won't save him. Give up, and perhaps I'll spare your lives.
Cecilia levels up again. Remember? She leveled up last update, in between bursts of misery.
Eh... I don't really like it.
Lead the charge, Marcus.
He still hasn't critted once with that lance, but that's the least of our tragedies here.
Besides, it allows Cecilia to get some experience. Sure, training a prepromote with subpar growths isn't exactly the brightest idea, but, once again, I wasn't really paying much attention to anything after the emotional pouding I received in the first half of the chapter.
For the next few turns, we'll be tricking Oates into running out of thunderbolts, much like his peer.
Oh, not another weird Priest.
Oh, he whacked her over the head. For one damage.
...moving right on.
Might as well get some experience out of that. And the undocumented bolting blast she took after that.
Revenge! Sort of, because Lilina can't aim!
Okay, next turn, if Lilina decides to hit the guy...
Very good. If only your bases weren't so stinky. That's what crossing a desert twice and dying thrice does to you, I guess.
No more bolting, people! Rejoice!
You can't see him, but there is a Pirate on approach.
Another happy kill.
Once again, you can't see it, but there's an Archer coming for us. At this point, I wanted nothing but to end the damned chapter, so...
Hahah, he got trolled by the ground. It's so much fun when it's not me.
Cecilia'd like some dead mini-boss right now. Care to provide her some, Marcus?
Cooperate, you doofus!
That's not cooperating, you artichoke! Bashi-bazouk! Bougainvillea! Cachinnating cockatoo! Flaming Jack-in-the-Box! Fourlegged Cyrano! Freshwater spaceman! Orangoutang!
Well, it works. Another level up for Cecilia. Get speed, perhaps...?
Still best girl. Besides, she got defense! Could Clarine have gotten this? Well?!
Some healing in preparation for bossman.
Ergh...
Maybe if we wait long enough, he'll die of old age?
Ah, what am I saying, Kaga wasn't involved in the making of this game. That's not happening.
Of all this game's bosses, Oates is perhaps the one who suffers the most from FE6's "minor bosses can't have unique palettes" policy. I refuse to believe that guy who's attacking Dorothy at the present time is the same as this:
Maybe that's just Oates' bodyguard, and the man himself is sitting behind him on the throne, leading the troops? And this bodyguard is mute, which is why Oates speaks for him?
That would also explain why he's standing up instead of sitting on the throne as depicted on the overworld map. And when he dies, Oates... Oates dies because they were knit together by a magical bond, which allowed the bodyguard to use Oates' vast magical power, which he could no longer employ by himself, as his body was too old and frail.
Yeah. This is definitely it. Makes perfect sense. It's LP canon now.
In other news, this'll take a while, isn't it?
Nice! Amazing! Formidable shot, Dorothy, truly remarkable!
And now...
The blood you have spilled, Oates... Randy was but a warrior, a low-ranking soldier under your command. Echinda... Cath... Treck... Sophia... you are to blame for their deaths!
Okay, not Cath's, that's entirely on me, but, uh... shut up and let me continue!
You employed such underhanded tactics to defeat them. You sold your soul to the RNGoddess, rigging those highly unlikely crits to bring down Echidna and Treck! You hacked life, allowing your troops to swim up waterfalls and throw axes through walls to behead Sophia! And now... it's time for retribution!
4.758% CHANCE, YOU BASTARD!!
HOW DOES IT FEEL, HUH!? HOW DOES IT FUCKIN' FEEL!?!?!
HOW DOES POETIC JUSTICE FEEEEEEEEEEEEL!?!?!
Hah... huff... puff...
Hell... yeah... I can now... die in peace...
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO HE HAD THE LAST LAUGH! MY BEAUTIFUL OIFEY'S GOTTEN A JEIGAN-ISH LEVEL UP!
Augh...
As a side note, before somebody comes saying "hurr durr but that wasn't a 4.758% chance, that was actually a 7.626% chance", evidently, I know that. But 4.758%'s the meme.
The old-timer's dead, and that's what counts, I suppose. Let's clean up the remnants of his army.
Like...
...so.
Let's see if I can get Raigh another level up before the end of the episode.
But first, flying horses.
I skipped a turn there, by the way. Cecilia healed Saul, Tate positioned herself to lure in the Mercenary, said Mercenary took the bait, and then Cecilia healed the wounds Tate sustained in her battle with the sleeveless swordsman. Man, I really had my head in the clouds that day.
Crappers.
Better. Thank you, Raigh, for not dying to a 1% critical hit.
Okay. That should be pretty much it for the chapter.
But before that, supports! Why did I do this? I have no idea. I could've done a support triangle with Lilina, Gonzales and Garret, but now I can't because... I don't even know.
Eh, it's not a big loss. Garret sucks and Gonzo can't hit anything.
Instead, we get to see Cecilia's beautiful face once more. And Lilina.
She already is unrivaled. Because her competition died. And is now a villain.
Nice, that's sweet. Okay, let's get to the meat of the support now.
...the statboosts! It's +1 attack and defense for the two of them, and a little bit of the rest. Not too bad, although Cecilia still needs speed. But it's fine, I'll give her the speedwings if I must. Everything for my favourite Mage General...
...what? I didn't say my favourite retired Mage General, did I?
Anyhow, are you ready for the last fuck you of Arcadia?
Yeah. Remember the sneak peek, where there was a "desperation counter" with only one point to it, which involved Raigh in some way, and led Dayni to believe he'd get killed? Yep. This is it.
Don't you just love it when this shit happens? After suffering so much in this chapter, they leave me with this. Excellent.
And after 47 turns, none of which were actually spent building up supports but waiting for the floor to be arsed to serve its primal function...
At last, we leave Arcadia behind. Ah... it feels so good to be able to finally say that. We leave so many good men and women behind (and Cath)... but we're finally out, and that's what counts. And next chapter's a laugh, to boot!
...then there's the horribly Douglas chapter. Augh... let's not think about it until we get there.
Since Sophia's dead and all, we get to behold a wondrous sight: branching dialogue. In the "Shitia died" ending, we get to see this generic who mistakes Roy for his friend, Lo, Lombriz to the public.
Some people? We have... some people available? Why aren't "some people" actually helping in combat and dying instead of Echidna, Treck and Sophia?!
But Sophia told you that you could use it so long as it was for the good of mankind... before she died... were you listening to her at all!?
And so, Roy walked all the way to the green pastures of the Lycian/Ilian border (notice those snowy mountains in the background? That's Ilia), the generic hot on his tail, to keep talking. I don't think anyone was supposed to ever see this scene.
Luna was better.
No kidding, these things break far too easily!
And it's back to Arcadia for us. Thank God they didn't make me play through chapter 14 to get back to the village again. That would've been so... urrrgh... shudders.
Here's this rude old man who's very thankful that we saved his village. Gee, you're welcome, I only lost two of my best troops and one of your own villagers to save your sorry hellhole, there's no need to thank me so profusely.
Yes, Roy was the one whose troops drove off Bern's soldiers all that time ago. It's only normal you've forgotten, though. To go to the Lycian/Ilian border and back, it must've taken a few months, at the very least. I forgive you, old guy.
Hmmm... this guy is reminding me of someone...
The elder of Arcadia is a recolour of a generic old citizen that can be found in random houses and villages. Why am I not surprised.
So... are you a dragon? I mean, you can ditch your dragonstone like Xane, Bantu after FE12, and Lord Inconvenience the Pompous, and consider yourself a human if you want, but... then just say "no"! Give me a straight answer, old man! I've no patience for games or tests after the torture I went through to help you!
Roy clearly shares my sentiment.
Ah, yes, the reason next chapter happens at all. I've got to thank her for that. Otherwise, we would've gone straight to Douglas.
She's almost as tall as Roy and you, though. Technical limitations are so much fun sometimes.
I'd complain that Elderman here seemingly didn't "sense" these guys like Sophia, but they actually explain that later. Gasp!
And yet here's Roy, a quarter of a dragon depending on Eliwood's choices. What a world we live in.
Ah, Igrene, there you are! Please, get the stinky recolour out of my face.
"By the way, Lord Roy, she headed into Forblaze's shrine with you, did she not? Where is she now? I'd like to speak to her."
"..."
See, they actually explain it! Le shock! How positively rare! Let's enjoy this display of competence while it lasts. I can't even remember anything in FE7 that contradicts this! It's beautiful!
Can, is, gives, says... jeez, Roy, don't you think it's about time you told them?
Oh, no, he's a Merlinus...
...not quite.
Please say yes, Roy, we need women like that after Echidna's death.
What?!
What now, Merlinus?
It's a trap! Be careful, Lord Roy! I don't trust her! She could be an enemy! Yow, it's an enemy ambush!
Merlinus, could you please calm down? I don't believe she's an enemy of ours.
DO A BARREL ROLL, LORD ROY! USE LEGENDARY WEAPONS WISELY! USE THE VULNERARY! USE THE SPEEDWINGS TO GET THROUGH! YOU'RE BECOMING MORE LIKE YOUR FATHER! TAKE CARE OF THE GUY BEHIND ME, LORD ROY! TRY CRITTING! INCOMIIIIIIIIIING! KNOCK IT OFF, LORD ROY! GOOD, I SEE THE ENEMY BOSS! DESTROY ALL THREE ENEMY HEALERS! DON'T LET 'EM GET TO THE VILLAGE! WHERE IS THE SECRET SHOP!?
...
Is he always like this?
Well...
Yes.
...I see...
Usually he calms down after an hour or two, let's just ignore him for now...
Great! We got a new Sniper.
You should, you're far better than Bartre and Klein. Shame Dorothy is so good. We don't really have much use for you.
Uh... thanks, I could use some more storage units.
Oh, c'mon, don't be so grumpy...
That can only end well.
And so, the Forblaze is ours! I hope I remember to show it next chapter.
Speaking of next chapter, a little bit of a breather awaits us. I couldn't be any happier about that. Until then, I hope you all fare as well as you possibly can.
To be continued.

I thought not. It's not a story elitists would tell you. It's a casual legend. Darth dork-ass was a dork lord of the mutton, so dorky and so assy, he could use memes to trust nobody to build... an army.
He had such knowledge of the mutton side, he could even keep the ones he cared about well-fed.
The mutton side of the memes is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be... puerile.
He became so dorky, the only thing he was afraid of was losing his ass, which eventually of course he did. Unfortunately, he taught his apprentice everything he knew... then his apprentice poisoned his mutton in his sleep.
Ironic. He could save others from hunger, but not himself.

I like dark magic better. Then again, dark magic is like the axes of magic. While on the subject, please, use Canas, he uses the axes of the trinity of magic, that has to count.
11 hours ago, Dayni said:So you know how you'd just assume Sain would just chase himself into someone's bed?
Come on. He's at least somewhat selfaware. Not enough to not hit on a married woman, but still.
No, Dayni. He may not be as bad as Saul, but that's only because he lacks brains.
11 hours ago, Dayni said:So, with that we've finished the first defence map in the series (discounting Thracia and IS might as well have until 2 weeks ago). Can this be the end of the brigand horde?
Hah! You wish! Again!
-
...is that all, son?
Yes. I've told you everything I know.
Hm... 'tis a disturbing tale, indeed.
To take the appearance of a child and deceive his brother... despicable.
I still don't know what to think about it.
Sir Lance... why didn't you strike him down?
What do you mean?
Unbeknownst to him, you were hidden there, witnessing everything unfold. You knew that he was not my brother. I knew that he was not my brother. So why didn't you rid this world of him?
I...
Don't be foolish, child. He may not look so menacing, but the one who lurks within your brother's body is a very powerful sorcerer. If Lance had risked taking him down... who knows if he and you would be here right now.
But if he's so powerful, why hasn't he attacked yet? If he can take down an army, why doesn't he just come and take us down?
He has a weakness. There is one man he fears, for he is powerless against him.
Who is that?! Bring him here!
...
...
...
...what?
...this man we speak of... uh...
He's the one. He caused your brother's death, Raigh.
...! Ru--
Hush!
...what?
He deserves to know, people! Besides, it's up to me whether to tell him or not!
No, it's not! I'm here as well!
Oh, shut up and man up-- uh, lady up!
...what's going on here?
Listen, I'll tell you. But you need to understand one thing before I do.
The man who caused your brother's death... he meant no harm. Perhaps he was... an incompetent fool, a stupid braggart who was way in over his head, but... he didn't... he didn't want that to happen. And to this day... he still regrets it. He still regrets all the pain he's caused. That's why... he will do anything to earn everybody's forgiveness! He'll do his best to ensure the war comes to as happy a conclusion as possible!
...Ruben...
...
...I believe you.
...! Really, you do?!
Even if I didn't, there are bigger things than you and I happening here. Tell me everything. We'll find a way to stop him. We must find a way to stop him.
Thank you, Raigh. Truly.
...
...such bravery... this bastard's full of surprises.
Indeed...
Part 26 - It was all going so well... perhaps too well.
Beware the loud noises, don't suffer a heart attack or anything. If I kill anybody else with this, I'm... I don't know what I'll do.
On 15/3/2018 at 6:35 PM, Dayni said:I like this captain.
That's good to know.
WHAT.
PRETZEL? NOT A CORPSE?
Nope, doesn't seem like it. Unless Frost is lying, but why would he do that?
Huh. So Etzel didn't do too badly.
Pretzel still lives though, so we're down a bit.
Indeed.
Oh, I might have been okay with hearing more from Frost.
I too, but alas, he's the least likely character to join Heroes right now. Even Glade has more of a chance, thanks to the memes.
Tellius is the one part of the series I haven't touched. More familiar with it because Fates and Heroes.
Ah, I see.
He just looks the part.
Jeez...
Powercreep's a bitch, but Raigh is pretty mediocre, mostly because his stats are very even, which is not helpful for quite a few units in Heroes. Not Odin bad, but still.
Stupid IntSys. Now you'll tell me Sophia's better than him.
He does have is uses as a counter cav, it's just the tome sucks at base level.
You mean that unpronounceable piece of crap they gave him instead of Apocalypse, for whatever reason?
I've gotten the guy some merges to catch up and he's been more useful than some of the supposedly more optimal units in places.
Eh, small victories, I guess.
It was the day you posted.
I can't tell if it'll go anywhere.
Good luck.
But that means it'll end well, Saul dies to a dragon in the end and Roy becomes the Phoebus?
Nah, I was never a fan of those two together.
Obviously Dorothy'd be Phoebus. She fits perfectly: a good person who has to take orders from a perverted piece of crap, betrays him eventually, and gets the girl.
Oh great, I left a typo. I meant Allan.
Jeez! You're not making things better! I was almost thinking you meant Arran, which is good, even if he ended up dying. I'd take a dead good character over a living bad character any day.
Well, that is one reason to go there.
Not a very good one, but...
It's barely a cheating glitch.
Though I understand.
Good, good.
Yeah, more move is useful here.
Sure, but we need power too.
Well, don't say I didn't warn anyone.
Warn me about what? Replacing my best unit with Minerva?
Eheh..... Course I don't think about that.
You're forgiven, dude.
I don't think he can use it.
Just more shafting of thieves.
Right, S rank can only be reached by promoted units. Dang...
Sure, the fact that Tate is still flying is my fault.
It is indeed!
And in keeping with the "HA, Fuck You" way.
That's always very important.
.183*.26 = 0.04758 (Using the true hit table for this)
So that's a 4.758% chance.
Oh, fuck my life, I forgot to multiply by a hundred when I made my maths. Shit! I'm the absolute worst!
Pretty crap sure, but that high crit prevents it being too absurd.
You don't know how mad this makes me.
I thought you'd see the pun, but oh well.
Don't explain it. It'd lose its charm if you did.
I forgot Miredy also can. As can Tate.
Also Roy.
Roy? Roy!? Pfah!
Does it count as a dishonourable reset if a weapon breaks?
It probably will.
This chapter: making things harder than it needs to be.
As usual.
Oof, that image.
I never like this corner of the map.
Why? There's not much going on there.
By flyer drop?
Why go through so much trouble just to get him slaughtered by an armorslayer?
This is why you leave crap on her.
I can't see it ending well.
It obviously wouldn't have, if I hadn't accounted for it.
Man who can lift better than boi holds the gate.
So it's a matter of how it ends.
Yeah.
Brigands: they come back quickly and in greater numbers.
They're a plague! Exterminate them! Where are my antibriganotics!?
She still is a thief.
And will forever be, because FE6.
Worth a shot +2?
Indeed. Franp, add 'em to the counter.
The video will come when I can record some footage for it.
Lookin' forward to it.
Brigands are like so many ants.
At some point it's too much.
This "some" point you speak of wouldn't happen to be last update, would it?
Gonzy's got trouble!
He'll live. I'm fairly certain of it.
The actual words: Gurg Grugl Splik
Splik? That's weird, Randy.
Disappointment, thy name is Cath.
More like "fourth worst thing in this game".
Bye Talisman, you could have been useful.
Oh, the Silence staff too I guess.
On 15/3/2018 at 5:03 PM, Saint Rubenio said:Those bastards... I cannot send Sophia in they're there! Cath, distract them!
Pay attention!
Huh, didn't think too much about it.
Excellent.
I'm not. I doubt most will either.
Good, that saves me some trouble.
Well look at him, Raigh's got some power now.
If only he also had speed.
Tate the Lady Lance?
Ba dum, tssss!
Well that was underwhelming.
Very much so.
How can she sense it?
Does her part-dragon heritage means she can feel a weapon that was made to murder her?
It's because she's oh so mysterious.
Wait, is Raigh thinking for a second?
Yeah, he is.
You've come to the wrong series Raigh.
Perhaps.
Oh look, Wrys might help-
*Sigh.
Dangit Humphrey.
Such foul timing!
Because he's not the Hulk?
aka Super Sain?Ergh...
Of course he just nopes out of there.
I mean, how's he going to explain all the contradictions, exactly?
Yeah Raigh, I can see it. But his head should not be there. It's not a good sign for anything coming back if it looks like that.
Hey, cut him some slack, he just wants his bro back.
So, we're down too many units and the next Gaiden chapter is full of annoying tricks. We'll see how bad it really is next time on The Bolting Blade!
If all the hints didn't make it clear, then here it goes. Spoiler alert: really bad.
2 hours ago, Goddess Serra said:Honestly, I take pride in the fact that I love Cath.
Live and let live. I shall let you live despite this very despicable fact.
At any rate, I didn't expect her to last much longer anyway.
Hey, I'm sorry, but even if I did like her character, she's so useless as a unit, there's nobody better suited to be sacrificed for the greater good. Still, if nobody died in that chapter (or in this one, for that matter), I would've been far happier.
SpoilerWhich is my new most hated place. Seriously, with chapter 7 and 14 I knew what I was getting into, at least. This one caught me off-guard.
No, seriously, throughout most of this chapter, I had the most "I'm done with life" face I've had in the entire LP. That's how much I "enjoyed" this thing. Guess now's the time to vent out that frustration...
"Roy and company are hot" is a funny line, especially now that Cecilia's joined.
Trading. Tate's getting the dragonshield because I'm tired of her dying to everything, like I said last time.
God, I can feel my good humour melting away just remembering what I am about to be forced to witness once more.
That's the boss, by the way. As if to mock me, they made the boss of this chapter what's possibly the oldest guy alive in all of Elibe. Not even my Wrys looks this pitifully decrepit.
Apparently these guys require manpower to break a piece of stone.
You wish.
It's also a very white place, according to the background.
Oh, and it happens to be hell on earth, as well.
And the reason Sophia and chapter 14 exist. Everyone, let's join hands and thank the heavens for this plot water.
Yeah, I'd like to know too. So I can rip him or her apart for putting me through the torment that have been both of these chapters!
Son of a--
What other Athos is there? In the Middle Ages of Anime, surnames don't exist, so there can only be one person for each name. Except Ruben. Ruben's an awfully common name, I hear.
Nice. Another fuckin' inconsistency with FE7. Blistering barnacles, let's do this.
Quoting the FE7 script here.
Athos:
“A moment, lad… Yes, I suppose you’ve a right to know…… I first met Nergal some 500 years ago, wandering the Nabata wasteland. Like me, his only drive was the search for truth in this world. We were equals in power and knowledge, and we became fast friends. We believed we could solve the mysteries of the world. We truly believed…”Lyn:
“So what happened?”Athos:
“A…disagreement, made at the height of our quest. One day, as I charted the mysteries of Nabata, I came across the most amazing village… It was unbelievable, but in that place, humans and dragons lived together in cooperation.”--
Athos:
“…As you wish. They had refused to fight humans in the war, and instead, they retreated to this wasteland. They desired nothing but to remain hidden from the outside. Nergal and I crafted a barrier and created an oasis for them. Upon their invitation, we lived there with them. Our life there… It was calm and satisfying. At some point, the village became known as Arcadia, a place of perfect peace for travelers gone astray.”So... Athos brought everyone to the desert, then forgot he brought everyone to the desert and found them again later? And the oasis didn't come from the plot, ahem, sorry, a nearby source of groundwater, but was conjured by Athos? And the sandstorms that made my life miserable in the last update were supposed to be this so-called barrier?
I admit there's a chance this shit might just be due to the translation, and that in the original japanese it makes perfect sense. But you know what? I need excuses to delay what's to come, and what better excuse than these perfectly reasonable questions I pose to everyone interested in defending some fanfiction?
Also, if there was ever any doubt that it might've been Pent or whatever that put the Forblaze back in here... yeah. There you go. Care to explain that, somebody? Seriously! Someone explain this to me! I'd like to believe IntSys actually did re-read their notes when making FE7, but I just have many more reasons to believe the opposite!
No, he didn't say that! He said "Spoilers about FE6, Bern will be the bad guys, your son will save the world, Eliwood"!
Okay, that was just nitpicking. He probably just said that before leaving Arcadia the last time. With the tome in his posession.
Amazing. That's the most explanatory explanation to have ever been explained. Thank you, Sophia, for unveiling the secrets behind this mystical place. The floor sinks, BECAUSE IT WANTS TO, OF COURSE. MAKES PERFECT SENSE. IT'S A MAGICAL SENTIENT FLOOR.
If I sound angry, that's because I am, and you're going to find out why and get mad as well. Don't you dare cease your reading! You will suffer, just as I did! Except less, because with all this build-up you can probably more or less guess what's coming!
So, the chapter. If you don't make it to Oates in 10 turns or so, perhaps a little more, the floor sinks and you have to wait, I'm not even joking although I wish I was, 15-20 turns for it to come back. Also, there almost are no enemies. This chapter is honestly no more than a sneaky bastard that prays on your boredom and winded down attention after the shitfest that was the last chapter, and the very easy past gaiden chapters. And I walked straight into the trap!
Another nasty trick is that this guy and the boss have boltings.
Sure, that looks scary, and the meager 10 weight is just unreasonable, but how powerful can this decomposing mummy possibly be?
The answer is, obviously, a fucking lot, almost as much as Lot. What a joke.
Heh. Okay, that was a neat sentence to write. I feel slightly better now.
Other than that, here are the main nasty/annoying factors to come into play.
We move forward, they move forward, we move forward but not as forward as the last time.
Okay, good...
I know, this won't make sense for anybody who doesn't know the meme, but I don't care. This is the best thing I could think of to express my feelings on this matter. Buckle up, everyone:
Well, that's been the LP, folks. See you in hell.

So yeah! That's what happened! I lost Treck to the same exact thing that killed Echidna! Why?! Why, because I can't have nice things! Is this divine punishment for not using Minerva?! Well, is it!? Answer to me, someone! I need answers!
Well, I shall not be defeated! I'll press on, no matter the cost! I'll kill Zephiel, then Idoun, and then I'll hit walls with a devil axe until either no more walls are left in the world, or I die! In that order!
Oh, look! Sophia got a kill! What a great consolation prize for losing Treck!
Yeah! Speed you can't use because your lightest means of attack weigh you down by 2 points! Treckdiedforthis out of Treck-fucking-diedforthis!
Get the hell out.
Marcus will use his axe to take on the Wyvern, but something will go wrong because of course it will. I can see it coming so bad.
Will Raigh die too? Maybe suddenly I'll trigger, I don't know, a 0.000000000000000000000000000001% chance of steel axes turning into ranged... Armads! And he'll die, and then my computer will explode, but not kill me in the blast, because that would be, Satan forbid, merciful!
...Satan forbid.
...bwahahahah, okay, that was so edgy, it made me smirk.
Nice!
Good, too! Well, I'm feeling very slightly better. If we can go for one turn without everything going down the crapper, then I might just be able to pull the knife away from my throat.
I can't see any reason why anything shouldn't go as planned.
Don't worry, that was planned. I perhaps tempted fate too much by risking a 3% crit, I mean, it's not 0%, that means it's, what, 88%, given my luck?!
This is the best shot of Saul's crit I could take. Bishop crits are horribly hard to screenshot.
Wait, what's all this rubbish doing here?
Oh, it's another little thing I wanted to comment. Nothing too important, y'see. It's just that, in my rage, I quit the game. This is a little hard to explain, so let me give you an example:
Let's say I take 4 screenshots in one session of playing without closing VBA, named 1, 2, 3, and 4. I don't like 3, so I delete it. Now, I quit the game, and come back later without moving 1, 2 and 4 from the folder where the emulator places all the screenshots I take.
So, what does VBA do? Pick up from 5 and name each new screenshot continuing from that number on? Well, NO! YOU KNOW WHAT IT DOES?! IT CREATES A NEW 3! WHICH MEANS THIS TIME, I DIDN'T EVEN NEED IMGUR TO SCREW UP THE WHOLE UPDATE! FOR EVERY TIME I DELETED A FAULTY SCREENSHOT, ONE OF THE POST-TEMPORAL RAGEQUIT SCREENSHOTS WAS LOST IN THE SEA OF MISERY THAT IS THE EARLY PART OF THE CHAPTER!
And guess what! Something did go wrong this turn! Amazing! Friggin' genial! I didn't even notice this, you know why? Because after I lost Treck to the worst streak of bad luck imaginable, I just put on auto-pilot and played like that for the rest of the chapter, just barely paying any attention to the game at all!
But can you blame me?! It took literally all of my willpower not to just hit ctr+R, erase all the screencaps I'd taken up to that point, and pretend it never happened! I even had to do that thing professional players do of keeping a save file of previous chapters, because if I completely, irrevocably overwrote the state of things prior to this catastrophe of a chapter, I wouldn't have had the heart to continue on at all! I needed that lingering hope of being able to go back and fix it, despite the fact that I obviously won't! It's a psychological thing, it makes sense in my head!
This is probably the time I got the most upset over a death in both of these LPs. I really am not joking, I sat in front of the screen for like 5 minutes, trying to fight back the urge to reset the game.
Nice! Great job, Sophia! I wager if you were told to eat shit and die, you'd miss and eat the damned International Space Station instead, and then you'd fail to stab yourself in the neck and instead hit the one behind you in the eye!
Okay, let's calm down. Here's... something, I don't know if to call it a plan. Cecilia picks Marcus up, Raigh gets healed because I don't want to make Saul move north...
...the game mocks me with this... backhanded... Baaaaaarrrgh! Of all times to get magic, you finally get it now!? When I can't even appreciate it?!?!
Raigh kills the Wyvern, Tate uses the dragonshield, and that's it. Let's see how many of our units die in this next turn. I'd say about 10. Probably. I'm being optimistic here.
Of course.
OF COURSE. THAT'S NICE. BILLIONS OF BILLIOUS BLISTERING BARNACLES IN A BLUE BARREL IN BERDO'S BOUTIQUE OF BAD BLEACH, WHAT HAVE I DONE TO DESERVE THIS NONSENSE!?
You obviously can't tell, but this is being rather hard. Sometimes it's obvious when a screencap doesn't belong there, but other times... suffice to say, I dread the moment I reach the point in the update where those misplaced screenshots actually took place and I have to figure out what to do.
Anyhow, healing. All of our efforts, rendered moot. You can pull a few of your punches, you know, Arcadia's underground? My feelings are already a bloody omelette here.
Oh my God. When did anybody think this was a good idea? I love FE6, but this... this just... this! Just this! Just look at this! This sums it all up!
Now we have to rely on Jeigan staying blessed until the end of the game. Oh, Jesus Christ...
Argh! Stop it! Have fucking mercy, game! Blistering barnacles!
Augh... noo... all I wanted was to have fun...
I never asked to be tortured! I don't like being tortured! I'm not one of those guys!
...not with a very non-female, inhuman and unintelligent entity known as "videogame", at least...
Ahem. Cough.
Which of these is the actual thing that happened here?! I'll just post both, and you guys do the thinking.
Eh. I suppose it's the poison guy, then. Either way, future or present, they're both dead.
Hangin' by a fine thread here, guys, but hanging on nonetheless. We might still be able to press on.
Oh, Saul and Roy didn't get hit? I'm so shocked and appalled!
Oh, but of course. They won't let Roy die. If they did, I
mightwould succumb to the temptation of letting Treck live. They can't have that, now, can they?Saul gets attacked by an eclipseman. Such a waste of time...
Oh, great! Amazing! Genial! Marvelous! Stupendous! Magnanimous! Brilliant! Awesome! Enjoyable! Fuckin' A, I took too long and the floor sank!
This might just be the most pathetic, pitiful, sad screenshot of the entire LP. Take a goooood, loooong look at it.
Whatever the case, Cecilia levels up. C'mon, babe, don't disappoint me...
Fine. She got magic. Good.
At least nobody will be left swimming for their lives yet. Tate can save Marcus, and Dorothy can hop back to firm floor.
Oh, please. Well, they're not leaving that tiny line of tiles any time soon.
Their situation is slightly less dire than the main team's, though. I use that term very loosely, given both Roy and Sophia are there.
Okay, we're still alive.
Sadly, though, so are they.
Oh, I can't believe it... I stand corrected: that wasn't the saddest screenshot of the entire LP. This is.
So this is the situation. We have a full team of slow magicians to take down three heavy-hitters, and an equally slow flier (because I lack foresight) to deal with a Pirate next to a Sniper who can't even run away.
It's not like she's going to die any time soon. It's just... God, this is so stupid.
Are you tired of seeing pros doing everything perfectly? Have you had enough of LPers that make no mistakes? Does resetting for the slightest instance of bad luck seem boring to you? Worry not, then, for here I come to balance things out with what's possibly the worst run of this chapter ever! Greatalicious! I'm so happy for you all, laughing behind your screens! And now you'll tell me you aren't laughing at all! That I have also failed as an entertainer! And then I'll be free to off myself! Whoopity-fucking-doo!
Ah, there's the floor again. This might not take so long after all...
Sorry, that was a foolish statement. Of course it'll take long. The path to Oates is already disappearing.
Maybe Sophia will be able to contribute?
...with nosferatu.
Why do I even bother?
I'm dumb!
Okay, that's it. At least nobody's in any danger of dying now, right?
Right...?
Let's just farm some more experience for Tate while we're here. Can't do much else, anyway.
Good.
Not as good! Seriously!?
AH! NO!
OH, I SHOULD'VE KNOWN! I SHOULD'VE KNOWN A PIRATE WOULD SWIM UP, UP A WATERFALL TO KILL SHITIA! THAT'S A VERY LOGICAL THING, THIS THAT JUST CAME TO PASS!
You win, everybody! I lost Sophia! Are you all happy!? Huh!? WELL, ARE YOU?!?! ARE YOU FUCKING HAPPY?!!?!?!?!
Argh.
And of course, the damage Lilina dealt at the expense of her physical well-being has been undone. It should be easily redone, at least.
Her physical well-being, I mean. To redo the damage, we'd need to get lucky with the dice rolls, and what's the chance of that happening?
Oh, for fuck's sake...
WHAT!? I DON'T HAVE ANY OTHER HEALERS! I'M GOING TO LOSE RAIGH AS WELL! TO THE RNG, AGAIN!
I can't make heads or tails of any of this. This is exactly the order in which these are arranged in this chapter's Imgur folder. It's like the update is trying to match my mental state.
Okay, we're back to the present, I think.
...wait, what? So, Dorothy killing that Pirate actually happened now?
The Pirates vanished...? What?
At least this proves Raigh won't die to the Pirate. These events are supposed to take place later on, after all.
Oh, not a flashbang! I can't understand what's going on without your help, thank you!
And uh... the pirates are still nowhere to be found...
Oh, of course, I get it now. This is the point where I have to go back, find all the misplaced screenshots, and put them where they belong. Great.
Okay, so Roy gets attacked... yes, I can remember this, it comes right before Raigh's death.
Then Raigh miraculously dodges death, and... oh, for crying out loud...
The one major good thing that happened in the entire damned chapter, and I can't even build up to it or celebrate it properly because of the chaotic pandemonium that is this update's folder! Blistering fucking barnacles!
Hey, Ruben from what, from the point of view of last sentence's Ruben, is the future. I've been searching all over the folder, and I have come to two conclusions:
1. That's the best I can do. The rest of the action is probably too generic and blends in with everything else, and I can't be arsed to re-read everything in detail.
2. Life sucks.
Let us move on now.
The Druid, tired of drowning, climbs out of the water and... whatever moving there was meant to accomplish?
Wave our LTCing potential for this chapter, everyone. It's undoable now. Thanks, 14x.
God, this chapter is so horrible. It's not horribly hard like 7, or horribly overwhelming like 14, or horribly Douglas like 16. It's just horrible. Absolutely fucking HORRIBLE!!!
Tate dropped Marcus, but it proved to be unnecessary, since she decided this was the perfect time to hit the guy critically. For some reason, I feel like the game's trying to make fun of me here.
Well, she got even more defense now! That's... that's great, I want my flier to be good.
Cecilia helps Lilina move faster. The whole army moves forwarrd.
Not Roy, though. Roy's not coming yet. I don't want to move him.
Why does this picture exist? I'm positive things are no longer messed up. This definitely belongs here. What the hell?
Raigh heals Saul. Remember? He got hit by, what, a 1% axe thrust, accounting for true hit?
Marcus almost gets killed. Dodge? What's that? Is that thing that requires luck in order to occur?
Another flashbang. Good.
Lilina gets a kill and, subsequently, a level up. C'mon... cheer me up, girl... you can do it! MAKE YOUR FATHER PROUD! MAKE ROY PROUD! MAKE ME PROUD! MAKE THE ENTIRETY OF ELIBE PROUD OF OSTIA'S HEIR! WE'RE ALL COUNTING ON YOU!

Ah, yeah. When this happens, I usually just press ctr+b (not sure if that's the default bind, though) to rewind and retake the screenshot. I don't count those as dishonorable resets because then I'd have something like 125235263513485342.
9 hours ago, Dayni said:This part of the game has a lot of Lyn going on about vengeance. It's a bit disappointing we don't get much with that in Eliwood/Hector mood.
Well, if you bench Lyn before getting her to level 10, recruit Wallace, and unbench Lyn to get them to support together, you get find out Wallace is great.
It's... sadly enough, not the most ridiculously contrived plot-reveal requirements that exist in FE7. Speaking of which, I assume you'll be getting the double x chapter, right? Or try to, at least.
9 hours ago, Dayni said:uy might be unique. I have to say it's one of the better looking sprites. Yey I can't quote!
I think he is. It's a decent Bandit sprite. At least they used more than 3 mugs like in FE6.
9 hours ago, Dayni said:Imagine this for the rest of the game and it's just Huey flying around on his own. It will not be any different.
B-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-but MUH EARLY PEGASUS UTILITY! THAT OBVIOUSLY MAKES FLORINA BEST CAHRATER, AMIRITE?!

It appears I was mistaken.
Ahahahah. Great.
9 hours ago, Dayni said:Excuse me:
Ah yes. Injokes are too easy. Now back to what's actually going on.
Blistering barnacles... if you steal my stealing of Haddock's insults, I swear to God, I'm suing your ass.
9 hours ago, Dayni said:I should take Florina's closing eyes for an edit.
Everyone's closing eyes are great, but nobody can pull it off as well as Marth.
9 hours ago, Dayni said:Funny screenshots you took here. It looks like he hit him just once, but so hard, he disintegrated.
9 hours ago, Dayni said:It ends badly.
Jeez. I'm really not used to seeing numbers this pathetic.
9 hours ago, Dayni said:See? Give him time. A good defensive level, though the lack of Strength and Speed is a shame.
Who cares about the lack of strength and speed? You're about to face an Ironman run. Survivability is all that matters.
9 hours ago, Dayni said:There's the strength and speed from last time. He's not doing badly so far.
I daresay he's doing better than Sain. 'Course, it's still too early to really tell.
9 hours ago, Dayni said:Well, I think you were quite willing to kill women and children, if your willingness to fight Lyn/Florina is an indication.
Ah, good ol' Matthis syndrome. What would we do without you.
9 hours ago, Dayni said:Florina's gimmick thus gets explained. Yet she's one of Hector's pairings.
Never did make sense.
She fell on his face, which is kinky, hence--
Sorry, sorry, shuting up now.
9 hours ago, Dayni said:"Indeed. We now have two unrelated individuals involved. Kent, I assume you want some drink to help?"
Well, I mean, not entirely unrelated. Florina's a friend of Lyn's because plot and we're responsible for Wil having no means of weaponery to defend himself any longer.
The truly unrelated people will join next chapter, if I'm not mistaken.
Wait, next chapter was Erk or Dorcas? I can't remember...
9 hours ago, Dayni said:And so ends another map that had brigands. Maybe there'll be less brigands this time.
Hah! You wish!

Sneak peek to the next update, everyone.
It might take slightly longer than usual. Make of this what you will.

'Tis a great honour, to be the exception to the statement. I am... quite overcome! Forced reference is forced.
10 hours ago, epilepsyduck said:Seriously, though, thanks for the patience and for enjoying all my rambly bullshit! This shit is time consuming but I wouldn't do it if I didn't enjoy it!
Fun fact: I started doing LPs myself after reading your own. I was already fond of reading this sort of screenshot LP, but after seeing this LP, I figured serenes seemed like a friendly enough place to try and do my own. So yeah, I've got you to thank for that.
Then again...
10 hours ago, epilepsyduck said:Toby hits a Pirate straight in the knees, lopping his legs off.
The pirate also has force powers, apparently, since he's able to levitate above the ground after having his feet hacked off.
10 hours ago, epilepsyduck said:Not the most exceptional bases around, that's for sure. That Speed is pretty impressive, at least, but her horrible Con really hurts given how heavy Dark tomes are. Still, I'll give her a chance to impress me. If she does, a Body Ring might be in her future.
I think that's her whole gimmick: she's like a Pegasus Shaman of sorts. She can't lift her main means of attack, but to compensate, she's got overkill speed. Still, I would recommend giving her a body ring if you end up using her. Nosferataking just isn't possible like this.
10 hours ago, epilepsyduck said:She's got a nice, purpley palette just like Ravi did. +A palettes, SoHaE!
Yes, this hack's palettes are really impressive, unpromoted Pascal aside. And it's only going to get better from here.
10 hours ago, epilepsyduck said:She fucks off. See you whenever I guess!
This was one of those moments I really, really wished I knew japanese to read all that. What the hell happened? Why did she leave? Isn't the Ilian code supposed to go "don't show mercy to your colleagues"? Then again, what was she doing there in the first place, if she'd leave so easily after being talked to? So many questions... and more will soon pop up. Somebody needs to translate this hack.
10 hours ago, epilepsyduck said:Lydia, having finally been granted a name, shows the rest of my army what overkill is all about.
Darn, even her palette's gorgeous. No, seriously. That's a great colour combination.
10 hours ago, epilepsyduck said:That's alright. Magic is my big worry for you.
As opposed to the fact that she has 4 defense and 22 HP?
11 hours ago, epilepsyduck said:Just here to give the support units, so easily forgotten, a little love and attention.
Whoa, she got strength! Wooooooh!
11 hours ago, epilepsyduck said:Promotion items are always a treat. Maybe one day we'll get to use them!
One of the things I liked the most about this game is how it ditches the whole "a thousand different promotion items" nonsense and just goes for a more straightforward system of having one promotion item type for everyone. It may look fancier, but I prefer to be able to promote whoever I want, whenever I want.
11 hours ago, epilepsyduck said:See if you can figure out where we'll be spending the lion's share of the last little bit of Chapter 12!
Of course. Don't go too overboard, man.

Part 25 - We can't get a little knife-happy with Randy.
'Cause everyone who used knives in this army is dead. Reference!
22 hours ago, Dayni said:Yes, yes it did.
I'm still trying to understand what happened.
C'mon, it's not that hard.
So they're now Shove BFFs?
Is that a reference I'm not getting because Path of Radiance was too slow for my liking?
Frost, who was it that trusted Humphrey?
He looks like he's the leader of the John Wayne Gacy fan club.
Holy crap, that definitely wasn't intentional, but now that you mention it, the resemblance is uncanny.
Yeah, this scene is good. So of course Louise would kill someone like that. Imagine if they acted like that in BS.....
Hey, they just lost their daughter, and have grown old. Cut 'em some slack.
That's going to be a shit family reunion.
Yeah... keep in mind, Klein still has no idea Clarine is dead.
Well, like I said I wasn't able to get what was going on much at all from that point. Pointing to a specific point wouldn't work here.
I get it, don't worry.
Outside? Definitely today.
I doubt that.
Or you're FTP like me and can still get most of what you're looking for.
Except Celica. Or seasonal tome users. Or Legendary Heroes. Forget what I was saying.
Honestly, I'd just be happy with a Raigh - Cecilia - Wrys - Sheema - Lyon team, but considering I haven't heard much good talk about Raigh... seriously, they add my favourite dark mage in the series, and they make him crap. Although, if my understanding is correct, that's mostly because of the powercreep.
You're right? Is Hartmut in the-no wait, he's in the BB I think.
That's right. The BB is still a 20-user, so... your point doesn't hold, sorry.
And you had to bring him up. Fine, I missed an opportunity there.
Heheheh...
True. You'll see more regular updates soon,
Bah, don't worry too much. I was just joking. Do it when you can.
I had an interview recently (As in, the day of this update).
Ah, as in, job interview? If so, I pray for the best! I've been praying for the best since I first read these lines, the day you posted your reply.
Hideen Weapons are something that came out of Fates.
They annoy me in Fates.
Ah, Fates!
Why would I want to do that and hurt myself as well?
Exactly.
Link here for the video. Keep in mind it's a point in the video, not all that it's about.
I see. Thanks for the video.
Then Sacae are the gypsies in this version?
Yeah... which means, Sue... oh, no.
Right you are. Wade was just too slow for me.
Well, he is slow, that much is true.
Well, I guess we'll see the supports.
If Sophia can live that long.
Maybe she will.
No, it's part of the tragedy of the old generation dying off. Marcus will end up more like Allen by the end, I know it.
Oh, no. Not... no! I refuse to believe it! Noooooooo!
I recall him being a religious zealot before.
The only thing he believes in is annoying Roy.
Giving Miredy only restore?
Ding ding ding, we got a winner. Although, Saul did have another one.
Igrene is a sad person.
Makes sense when she never really knew her parents all that well and has to defend a village on her own.
Although, for whatever reason, she still takes the time to put on lipstick every day. Seriously! Don't even try to tell me that's her normal lip colour! It's not natural!
I can't really say here. Maybe they noticed some unobserved spot in the desert and Zephiel said "Kill them all, let
ElimineIdoun decide."Hey, he's Zephiel. Maybe he was worried that there might be a human or two lost somewhere in the desert. What if that man/woman was to escape the desert? Then his plan for total annihilation of the human race would've been foiled! He can't allow that to happen!
She's also needed for the best ending.
Fae can be a problem unit.
She's got multiple problems.
That's what Zeiss is reacting to.
He's there asking himself "Why is Randy going on like this, we have Arcadia?"
Maybe he was just having Vietnam flashbacks to ten minutes earlier, when they were still trying to secure the village in the middle of a sandstorm with dragons and humans alike pushing them back.
Given the nature of this chapter, I can relate.
Considering who recruits him, not too much.
If you brought her.
Stupid game, forcing me to use Minerva. Although, quite honestly, the fact that she's randomly required for 21x does balance things out slightly. She's great, for sure, but if you use her regularly, you risk losing the game. That's a pretty damn great risk to take.
That's the case in Ironman runs. In a regular run, she's still an insult to the very idea of "balance".
I can barely see what you're saying Roy!
Like I said, it REAAAALLY does get everywhere.
Huh, neat.
Well, with a glitch you can guarantee it every time.
Yes, but this is an honest playthrough. As in, I'm not going to cheat unless I'm particularly mad about it. Then it's fine, so long as I go to great lengths to ridicule myself for it.
Besides which, it's time for this lovely chapter and the lovely limits. YAY.
Whoo...
Because at last one level designer had their principle as "HAHA Fuck you."
At least one?!
I think it's more like shooting yourself in the foot: Pointless and only hurts your cause.
Yeah, that's part of it. Only, you forgot to mention that bullet contains acid and salt, thus leading to the epic scream from the video. It hurts so much, it transcends the game and makes you scream through your daily chores!
THIS IS WHY YOU BRING MIREDY, SHE HAD IT.
I won't bring Minerva, damnit! Raigh's more important!
Yes, favouritism leading you to pick so many slow units over enough mages to survive.
Least you were honest.
Yeah, except for the part where, if I brought Lilina instead of the Western Reapers and Dorothy, we would've lost, because nobody could take a hit.
I agree, however, that Gonzo had nothing to do there. I should've swapped him out for Lilina.
Because fuck using these guys, they're a pitfall.
If using these guys is a pitfall, then I'll gladly walk into it!
The period is after the boots themselves.
They want you to not ignore the boots by stopping at the period before them.
I actually hadn't noticed the period, but that's not what I was refering to. Think about it for a second. "Got a boots". As opposed to "got the boots" or "got some boots". "Got a boots".
Astore needs to find Igrene so that we can all cry later on.
Don't die man!
And considering he's pretty much my last bet for a swordsman... jeez, that's sad.
Because he silences people be whacking them over the head?
Who knows.
I'll stick to that bet, even if it doesn't happen this time.
I'll be sure to disappoint.
Also, dammnable priest, why did I hire him for it?
Ah, so it was you! I can blame you for Tate's death! Foul Dayni! This dishonorable reset is on you!
I... I don't get it.
I did get it when you actually explained that you fucked this one up. Thanks for that. Now I do get it.
Clearly they expect to take over and just live here.
Eh, I suppose they could. Arcadia's not a bad looking village. They got a rad pyramid.
The one time they went "Seriously, don't use horses"
There's also that time Seth gives you a tutorial on not using horses in desert chapters in FE8. Personally, I prefer this version of the tutorial. It's far more direct.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We barely knew you, Echidna. You will be remembered as my last attempt at having a swordswoman. Alas, 'twas not to be.
We don't like sand. It's rough, coarse, irritating and it gets all over our favourites so we can't use them.
Shit, she was one of your favourites? Of course she was, she's everyone's favourite! I'm so sorry... but again, what were the fuckin' chances?! Let's do a little half-assed math:
So she had a 30% chance to get hit and a 26% chance for that hit to be critical. That means, even if we don't account for true hit, which would lower the odds even further... this had a 0.078% chance of happening.
Aren't I just the luckiest FE player in town. Assuming there isn't some overly complicated way to calculate this that I don't know of and I'm just embarrassing myself once again.
Good jobe Wade, keep the gymnastics alive.
This team's hit, but not down yet!
That's one way to get ahead.
Also ruined might be a understatement.
I was referencing something, but you're right, it's still an understatement.
Good on Lot.
Yeah, good on him.
As for swords, you're left with Allan or Percival sadly. I know, you'd rather not want either of them.
Or Astolfo, but uh...
Why didn't Raigh bother asking him?
Because he's forgettable. You said it yourself.
Also, OH BOY I CAN SEE THE REUNION ENDING WELL.
You can see everything ending well. Only time shall tell if you're right, however.
Next time, Arcadia is saved?
From my ire? Doubtful.

Took you long enough. Welcome abroad!
So, you lost Echidna too... that reminds me, most of the sword users died in the previous LP too...
Hmmm... well, I did lose everyone I tried to reclass into swordmaster, but Athena existed, so it was less ludicrous than this.
looks like swords are cursed, don't use them.
Yeah... Bern favours lances anyways. It's not such a huge loss.
For sword users you still have Percival... or Astore maybe?
Hah, Perceval. Nope. Roy might as well send Eliwood the Durandal back.

Right. I'm counting on you to keep count of all our counters.
That makes no sense. She's a Valkyrie, she would have been the first to die.
She's also Cecilia. Cecilia's great. She wouldn't have let a little desert take her down.
Fae is the cutest manakete to ever grace this series. That is a fact.
Too bad I don't care much for Manaketes in general. Why did they have to make them such bad units in general, again?
This, sadly, is also a fact.
Yeah...
I don't need to. This chapter has been drilled into my brain by sheer terribleness.
Heh... I think everyone who's played it can relate.
:Zephieling intensifies:
RIP Echidna. It's a female name btw.
Don't remind me...
Whoa, your laptop's low-res. Also, using the wiki in 2018. Bwahah!
...Zeiss?
Zeiss? Zeiss?! You're really suggesting that I grab a unit that joins the team in chapter 16, promote him, and then get him from E to S rank in swords?!

1 minute ago, Dayni said:I missed this one too, couldn't edit the post I was intending to use as my corrections so:
Triple-posting, eh? Well, it's not as bad as posting an update out of the spoiler box. Twice.
I'm now curious. Still expect Sophia to die, but still.
Well, if she dies, you can just go to serenes and read the support. I intend to make them support eachother, but if it doesn't come to pass, do that.
SpoilerSo... here's the deal. When I attacked Maggie with the Armads, it didn't occur to me that now, these idiots will throw themselves at it, wasting even more uses.
Bah, it should be fine. We'll get hammerne in two chapters, and most of these buffoons have hand axes anyway.
Uh... this one should go for Wade. Wade's hurt and can't retaliate, after all.
Whoa! Nice job, Gonzo. That's convenient.
Back to the frontlines with you, Astolfo.
One of these is not like the others. Hmmm... I wonder...
HAH! Yes! Sophia got a kill!!
Not quite a level, but that's okay. She'll have time for that.
Honestly, Sophia doesn't suffer as much as Cecilia from being recruited in this chapter, but don't think she doesn't get screwed over by it at all, either. She'd have a much easier time to have kills spoon-fed to her if most of Arcadia's enemies weren't Wyverns she can't reach, and Mercenaries she can't hit. Really, everything about this chapter's thought to be the worst.
Anyhow, let's hope Lot doesn't break the Armads.
2 uses down.
4 uses down. Goddamnit, Lot, couldn't you have critted sooner?
Okay, g--
No! You absolute dumbass!
Sigh... 6 uses down...
Predictably, the rest either go after Wade or throw a hand axe at Lot from afar.
Eh. Not bad, all things considered.
Very well, these two should be completely safe now that the bosses are gone. We suffered a loss, but it could've been worss. Let's check the turn count.
Turn 12. Not bad, but I fear Randy might take longer than I'd like. Also, 30 enemies. 30. And Randy was worried. To be fair, however, half of those aren't actually Bernians.
Remember when I mentioned I should've made Roy hold on to an emergency tome? Yeah... the Arcadian shop sells tomes, but we've still a ways to go before we reach it.
Well, then. Make those 8 uses count, Saul.
...or not.
Ah, there comes another Hero. Also, notice Cath down there? Before you ask, no, I have no idea what to do with her.
You know what? As soon as we've the situation under control, I'm just going to skip all the boring Brigand fighting. I mean, it's not like they have the slightest chance of defeating these two, right?
Especially not now that they can't even reach Wade without turning themselves into big shooting targets.
While Cath's there, might as well get some enhanced visibility.
Hm... Wyverns. That's not very nice. Also, two Dragons, one for each piece of treasure. The silver blade's usually of not much use to anyone, let alone this, the swordless army, so I won't even bother with it, but the warp staff's something I'd really like to get my hands on.
Okay... okay... c'mooon another kill for Sophiaaa...
Bullshit!
Raigh gets the kill, as usual.
Hmmm... oh, dear. That's not something I'd really like to risk. We've lost people to lesser odds than that.
Okay, the Hero should try to stab Tate. The other two can't reach her.
Ack! Good.
Ack! Good. Also, are they serious? I could almost understand Rose using a halberd, so as to dissuade people from leaving Cecilia at the starting point, but an armorslayer? Here? What kind of Knight would make it this far?
Well, he didn't take the bait, but at least it didn't cost anybody their lives.
Also, fuck, but at least he should still get some WEXP out of that.
Ah. Shit. They're going after Cath.
I mean, ah! Shit! They're going after Cath!
These two are still going at it. Thought I'd show this screencap because the pose's funny. What the hell is he doing?
Would you look at that. So much free experience waiting to be claimed by the axe siblings.
Hmm... would it be too much to ask...
Yes, yes it would. Eh, at this point, promoted kills for Sophia would be more wasteful than anything, even if she managed to get any. She can't get more than 100 experience, after all.
Raigh will make better use of it.
Good! Speed's good. I'd like to get him to level 20, but even if I can't, he's still going to promote today.
Now, let's get Sophia outta there.
And Cath as well...
...ergh, after she gets the silence staff.
You know, if for whatever reason she dies, I'd rather lose the talisman and the silence than the speedwings, so she'll be sending that to Merlinus.
Hmmm... this is a bit of an awkward situation, but it shouldn't end with anybody's deaths.
Sure, I could've stopped the Mercenaries from attacking Roy and Astolfo by placing Tate in the way, but take a closer look. The Mercenaries can't reach either of our swordies from two sides at once, meaning they'll only be taking one attack each. Don't worry, I made the math: neither can get doubled and killed. Tate getting attacked twice, though... I'd rather not risk that one.
This is still happening, too.
Ah! Gonzo! I'd completely forgotten about him! Although... that might've been a good thing. Had I remembered to move him forward last turn, these guys would've fallen right on top of him.
This goes as planned, except for Roy dodging. That, I hadn't foreseen. Good job, Boi. Looks like the grinding's serving you well. As in, now you don't die to everything.
Well, Tate needs to her get out of there ASAP now. No more waiting can be afforded.
Hm... okay, as long as I get him running, Gonzales shouldn't be in any real trouble.
Like so.
Okay, but this does mean we've one less unit to throw at the Mercenaries.
Thankfully, I got lucky.
Oh, shit. Well, I don't think any of these guys has a javelin, so we should be fine...?
Might as well burn the last use of the torch while we're at it.
Look, it's Randy! Stats, please.
Randy's not bad at all. He can double half our army, and he's got a mighty punch to deliver. However, his weapon can't do more than 10 damage at range because... reasons. That's convenient. He shouldn't be too much trouble, aside from the fact that he'll take turns when we really don't have turns to spare.
Please don't die, people.
Okay, perfect.
Ah! Not so perfect! But at least nobody else can reach him...
Jesus Christ, Tate. Can you stop getting killed by everything? This is the second time you've lucked out of a horrible death. I'll end up having to give you the dragonshield.
Also, there goes Tate's speed. Joy.
Gonzo dodges, again. I might skip this one, too, until he gets hit, at least.
Okay, time to rely on low hitrates again. This is honestly really bad. Saul's the best damage dealer of the bunch, along with Dorothy.
Wyvern Lord's been taken care of.
Nice, nice. Good level up, Dorothy.
Aaaaaaaand great. Thank you, Raigh, for not sucking ass like some others.
And that's it. Left alone, the Wyvern Rider shouldn't pose too much of a threat. Although, he does impede us from moving forward this turn. Let's see...
9 turns to go. Not bad.
The Mage's going after the Western Reapers? Hah! Poor fool! His end is at hand!
Yeah, definitely skipping the rest of these.
Cecilia combat! For Jeiganing purposes, no less.
Oh, fuck you, Sophia. That wasn't such a low chance to hit.
As usual, Raigh does what his fellow Shaman couldn't.
Hand over the torch, girl.
Hmm... good, I can't see anybody. Well, aside from that random Brigand, but Arcadia's too big a village for him to plunder.
Maybe it he was a Horseman. Good thing he isn't, eh?
Slowly but surely, we approach the end of this fuckfest. Thank goodness...
The Mage has his head split in half. Now his robes really are red!
Gonzo just keeps on running. The poor guy! But he can't hit to save his live, so there's not much else he can do.
Showing this because absolutely nothing else happened in this enemy phase.
Hey, let's give Astolfo a kill. He's done well today.
Flashbang.png
Eh, it's dodge. If it means he'll have an easier time surviving boltings, then I'm happy.
This should be as good a time as any. Commence operation RTW! (Retrieve The Warp)
But first, give back the torch. You won't need it. And now it's gone!
Neat frame. Looks like Cecilia's horse is looking at Roy in disapproval. I wonder why...
"Maybe because he wants h--"
NOPE! Not acknowledging that again. Shut up, moving on.
Run, fair Gonzales! Run for your life from your red twins!
...which are also spawning next to Arcadia, because... that's legit, I guess?
Someone made it to Wade! I'm so proud of this random Bandit. You get no guesses as to what his reward will be.
But first, level 20, everybody. Hype!
Is the RNGoddess trying to mock me, now?
Meh. he's slightly speed, skill and def screwed, and would also be HP screwed were it not for the robe, but it's fine. A promotion should fix all his problems for now.
Those bastards... I cannot send Sophia in they're there! Cath, distract them!
Hm... the warps somewhere around the cursor. But the fog is too thick. I can't see anything!
Oh, no, not Wyverns!
Okay, Cath's alive. That's... good, I suppose.
Guess what, I forgot to move Gonzo again. Well. he's still not in too much trouble. These guys are about as bad at hitting as he is, but with even worse weaponery.
This guy was alone, for whatever reason. No longer, though. Now he may join all of his colleagues in death.
I'm taking huge risks with Cath here, but the hitrate's so low, can you really blame me for rolling the dice?
Yes, you can, given what happened to Echidna, but this is Cath we're talking about here. She dies? Big whoop.
Oh please. No harm done, at least.
OH PLEASE. NO HARM DONE, AT LEAST.
That's five turns to go, and we're very far from having the village under control, and the worst part about it is, it's not because of Bern, it's because of the fuckin' random Bandits.
Don't worry, Sophia isn't in danger. Barely. We need to get her somewhere safe yesterday, but there isn't such a place in here... and we need her alive for both Raigh's ring and the gaiden...
Oh, gosh darn it...
Better. Would be even more better if Saul still had his tome, but alas...
Also, before somebody corrects me, yes, that "more better" was intentional. I can see you guys coming from a kilometer away.
Now, here's the part where I have to make... ahem, a "difficult" sacrifice. 'Cause you know what, we're already struggling to kill two brigands with one of our two damage-dealers deprived of his weapon, if we let even more swarm the village, we won't stand a chance. Therefore... if anybody is to die, then it might as well be Cath.
Now I'm very happy I recruited her, after all. She's proving to be useful, in the end.
Saul and Dorothy retreat into the village, taking down one of the Brigands there in the process. Cath'll take care of everyone else.
Finally, the damned ring! Sophia gets a tiny bit of unique dialogue with it. Truly beautiful, itsn't it? Well, you can't keep it. I'll buy you one in chapter 16 if you last until then.
And now... uhh...
Hmm... well, that's not very accurate to reality, since Roy has a forest here, but even without it, he shouldn't be in too high a risk of dying. Certainly not enough that the enemies would pick him over Cath.
Okay, let's do it. Cecilia takes her off his hands and runs away as far as she can.
Urk... not good enough.
Okay, that's much better. Thanks to Cath, we should have one more turn to take Randy out. Two, if we're lucky and she dodges everything. Hmph... not the best odds, but this being Arcadia and all, I'll take it for what it's worth.
Astolfo and Tate have made it to the warp staff. They can't really afford to linger down there for too long, though. Not that they need too: just the time for Astolfo to walk into the warp tiles, and Tate'll bail him outta there.
Lot got another level up off of the Brigands! Capped HP, 18 defense and 11 resistance, ladies and gentlemen. I daresay this guy is completely invincible now. I'm so glad I decided to use him. He's still behind in strength and skill, but who cares about that when he can simply outlast everyone?
Still running here. He's soon going to run out of space to run, though.
Yeah... Randy better not take too long to beat, or else everything's going to go to hell in a handbasket.
Nice! Nice! She lived!
Good. I couldn't have asked for a better enemy phase.
Shopping time. A couple aircalibur and nosferatu tomes (not that I can afford more if I want to recruit Hugh) and a new lightning for Saul. The armory only sells steel weapons, so I don't buy anything there.
How does that tome feel, Saul? Can you feel the power of the gods? Good, get to work then, we're on a very tight schedule here.
Randy's yet another one of those guy's whose weapon represents his whole personality, aside from being a paranoid doofus.
Perfect! Excellent work, Saul! Now, if Dorothy could hit both her shots, it'd be swell.
...or not, because she didn't even get to fire a second arrow. Stupendous!
No, that's not a flea killing him, it's just the world's weirdest arrow, okay?
(Also, if you tried to wipe your screen there, let me tell you, I don't know where that dot over the "h" of "honor" came from either)
Excellent. We can now just leave without suffering any more casualties.
...but why do that, when we can take another turn to get some more experience?
Okay, no, that's not the actual main reason.
The main reason is that I simply cannot leave because Astolfo can't reach the warp staff yet.
If Astolfo dies there, I swear to God...
Well, at this point, we really can't lose Roy, but we still can lose Astolfo and the warp. I know, I've already said that, but... dang it, I'm worried, okay?!
Cath... doesn't do quite as well this turn. Still hanging on, though. You can do it, girl! Buy some more time for your superiors!
Nice. That's perfect. It would've been a real bummer if he got hit with such a low chance of such an unfortunate outcome coming to pass.
Other than that, Cath levels up! Get speed and skill, girl. It should be easy, given your 85% and 50% growths in speed and skill respectively. Do that, and you might live yet--
...you will not survive this.
Gonzo's hit as well, but he won't die. We'll seize before that can happen.
Can it be? Will we survive the chapter without any more casualties?
Of course not. But you know what? That could've been Astolfo getting hit by a Mage and an extremely unlikely hand axe. This, I'm fine with.
Nah. You didn't "goof", I just didn't care enough for your life.
So long, you little shit! Have fun being annoying to recruit into the afterlife!
Don't worry, don't worry, we're seizing this turn, no matter what.
But first, let's take what we came down here for.
The warp's ours! Now, let's leave before the Dragon's gets to roast Astolfo.
But before that... some quick level ups!
Awesome!
Bleh.
Sophia! That was perfectly doable!
Sigh... fine. WEXP for Saul is good too.
Let's also promote Raigh right now so he doesn't have to waste a turn doing so next chapter.
Wave that magnificent purple/green palette goodbye, for...
...wait, what?
"Shouldn't he be looking more like this?", you're probably thinking.
Well, no. You see, I cheated.
I tampered with the game and assigned Raigh's unpromoted palette to his promoted self. I was so impressed by the lack of glitches and by how good it looked, that I decided to just leave it like that forever. I've been using this palette for a while, and I intend to use it in this run. Unless, of course, somebody threatens to report me and my thread because MUH PURITY. If so, well, guess I'll just change it back, his normal Druid palette is also good.
That issue addressed, let's look at his stats. His durability is comparable to Saul's, but he trades staves and speed for a crapton more magic and a better magic type. A little more speed, and he should surpass Saul's combat prowess.
Dorothy, Lot and Tate snatch a few more bits of experience while we're still here. Don't worry, don't worry, I'll seize after this.
Wait, what's Tate's pegasus doing?
AAAAAAHHH! Tate!
Of course, it doesn't even get a good level up out of that!
Let's just leave before somebody else gets hurt...
Ladies and gentlemen, Roy didn't react so obnoxiously to this chapter as he did to chapter 12.
Ah, fine, let's just forget about the villagers and talk about doors.
A thing that shouldn't be here, according to some fanfiction. Sad thing is, an actual fanfiction does a better job at explaining this than what I refer to as "some fanfiction". I know, you all read the last update, you also know this, but you know what? If I'm given shiny new ways to shit on FE7, I'll gladly take it.
Le shock! Who could have foreseen that?!
Yes, let us. "Us" does not include Sophia--
Wait, it does. I almost forgot, I want to use her.
I don't know, man, next chapter will be our introduction to siege tomes...
Whatever the case, there's not much we can do other than to confront the bolting head-on. Next time, we'll do that. See you then!
To be continued.

Part 24 - I don't like sand. It's coarse, rough, and irritating...
And it gets everywhere.
You know, I've been taking a look at the first few updates again, and noticed a little thing... nothing very important, just that half of my portraits are gone. A while ago, I did a little fix to the "worried" face, erased the old version of the portrait I had uploaded to imgur, and uploaded the new one.
The result is that now the first updates look like crap because I'm an incompetent fool who can't do anything right.

Have you noticed his colour scheme is similar to the Joker's?
On 12/3/2018 at 5:49 PM, Dayni said:Clearly so am I. That Frost is amazing.
Hahah... thanks, man. I, too, feel very proud of that sprite. I spent around 3 hours to make it. Only the best efforts for the best character.
Matthis.... I'm a little confused. What's up with his forehead?
What, you've never seen anyone with a wrinkled forehead? I was actually expecting people to be more confused about his dark emperor-ish eyes and his smoker-coloured skin.
This seems to be from Ruben's OG timeline? Seems too good to be true.
Perhaps...
Oh Marth, why would you start sending armies out to spread peace?
Did you read up on that America after your Americartoons? You Ameriphile!
Bwahahah, oh, lay off poor Marth, he meant well! Probably!
Well, it does sound like what'd happen. Wonder if Frost is still worrying about his family.
Most likely. He's a good man like that.
Again, Sid you moron.
C'mon, it would've been worse if he hid it from them.
Oof, it's understandable from her to be that concerned.
Yeah...
FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU-
Yep!
So that's what's happening? Well shit!
Wait what's happening?
I'll be honest, from when Humphrey showed up everything looks confusing.
Yeah, especially since, inmersed in the tension of the scene, you forgot to quote half the stuff you wanted to quote. What exactly were you reacting to? I mean, I know what, there only are so many things to react to in that part, but...
This cannot end well is all I can tell.
Well...
Still no, though I'm pretty sure it's gone by now.
You're "pretty sure"? How long has it been since you last left your home?
Noble? He's having to deal with yet more people fucking up.
Fuckups are unacceptable in his world.
It's always a noble cause to make a fool out of Narcian.
That sounds like something too OP for anyone's good.
Or Brave Zephiel in Heroes.
That one's even worse because it costs money! AAAUAAUAHUAAUAHUAAUH!
With that accuracy? I don't think it'd work out.
Eh, it's not like it would've taken that much longer than it already did.
And why does Eckesachs have infinite durability?
Because... legendary weapon? No, wait, that can't be it, the other weapons are brittle as Glass.
Well it's that or Hawkeye to do it. Makes sense either way, I'll have the answer if it shows up in BS.
Yeah, hurry up and get there. My first LP offered daily updates!
Desmond did everything wrong!
Heheheh... poor Desmond. He was just giving Zephiel some ol' tough love, preparing him for real life! He's almost as good a parent as Vernon Dursley and Frollo.
Well, I'm saying as another person with it. Feels a bit of a bad thing to bring up, like risking offending everyone else by doing so. Kind of letting the side down in a way.
Jeez, what's this, Autismcon 2018?
Nah, in all seriousness, I don't know about anyone else, but I'm fine with it. If you want to use autism to joke around, as far as I'm concerned, go right ahead, I don't mind so long as it's used intelligently. Just, try to avoid behaving like a child on youtube, saying things like "HURR DURR I FUK U AUTISTIC MOM U AUTISTIC IDIOT BLEEERHG". Jokes are fine, it'd be stupid to get mad over a joke, but full-blown insults intended to hurt people... not so much. But I don't believe you'd want to do such a thing.
Those are appropriate descriptions for the series though.
Well, of course they are. Why wouldn't they be?
You're not wrong. And I'm sure I already did by suggesting the impossible.
Yep, looks like you did.
I don't remember Jahn knowing Arcadia at all. Like I said, when Chapter 24 comes up.
If this game isn't going to give build up to a villain I consider terrible, I won't give it for them.
Admittedly, Jahn's pretty damn bad. Let's not talk about him until he appears.
Well I said related to Hartmut because he's the hero associated with Bern so they'd be more likely to have documents related to him. Athos would make more sense.
Yeah, but Hartmut had no way of knowing about Arcadia, either. It's a lose-lose situation however you look at it.
It's Fates. Merging weapons onto the triangle was a weird thing.
To be fair, Bows were the best counter to the Shurikens (which I consider overpowered), so I'm not too mad at it within Fates.
Shurikens... that's something I didn't know about. I need to get up-to-date with this series.
Sure, he can be considered too perfect. It's part of his god complex.
But that makes him cocky to the point of being surprisingly sloppy at points. I feel I should point to a surprising analysis of the potato chip scene because it actually points out this flaw of Light's in a place which I hadn't expected. Besides, Light won with a literal Death Ex Machina.
Go right ahead. Even if you don't want to do it here because spoilers, send me a private. If you could open my eyes to these flaws you speak of, I might actually gain some respect for his character.
The fact everyone's a judgemental asshole is why.
That, too.
I meant adding a link. I should have timestamped it though.
Yeah, I got it, I just wanted to rant is all.
Also, Ruben Forgets Roundabout Counter: 3
Why, you little...
No.
No I did not. What the actual fuck?
Heheheheh...
I had a feeling this might happen, but I was still wincing. I thought this had been the case with Lilina, but still.
Lilina's thing was partly the gaiden access, and partly the fact that my mistake was so stupid, I refused to accept it. That's why I still used Lilina afterwards.
Also, I think you might want to
tatetake a look at this. The experience gained is different from the total levels, at least I think it is.You just saved my ass, Dayni. I was convinced the total levels were what was counted for the Ilia/Sacae choice. Now I know not to overlevel Tate too much. Thank you.
That would be accurate.
TRECK THE TANK ENGINE STEAMS ALONG. Next stop Zephiel's face?
Hmm... when we get the Maltet. No need to hurry.
This is the theme for every time this happens now.
Hate me if you want, but it had to happen. I might need to do a shitpost of this too. Need something for video editing first though.
Hahah, fine. As soon as you have it done, send it in response to a worthwhile shot. Rest assured, the game'll keep producing those.
BB canon that Al died early in Bern's insurrection and his sword was brought here?
That or he's recently dead and this guy just picked up his sword here.
What a great guy... ah, Missur.
Well, it is a good training method to avoid projectiles.
Treck could join in and practice javelin throwing for Ilia too.
He will... just, not in this chapter.
Saul Frollo longed to purge the world of nice and Shin?
Bwahahahahahahahah... poor Shin.
Nah, that doesn't work. He certainly wouldn't see corruption from within or wouldn't care though.
Good ol' Saul. Even worse than Frollo, yet he's one of the good guys.
Daily reminder Oujay sucks. Of course.
Stupid Oggman. Can't do anything right!
He needs that speed to run from Dorothy's arrows.
Good point.
Well, it is one way to break a man.
It's supposed to be a horseslayer though, not a manbreaker.
Yeah, but he was hit in the crotch. That much is a fact.
Lot: so badass he slaps axes into his enemies.
He's the invincible Warrior!
Tate's doing her best?
It's certainly a good thing.
Indeed it is.
He procc'd strength!
Finally!
Yeah, well done, Lot.
If this were that one chapter in Mystery I'd call that a resettable offence.
Oh, God, that would've been so horrible...
Well, this is coming from the guy who made Matthis relevant.
I am unsurprised at this.
Right.
It's not like I disliked using 2/3 of these before.
Let me guess, Lot and Echidna?
I wasn't going to.
Sue still sucks, I was being sarcastic last time.
Of course, of course.
10/10?
Almost, but it is certainly the best 1-stat level for her.
Honestly, I would've liked defense better. Her durability needs help right this instant.
Same for Narcian then?
Perhaps. Only time will tell.
At least you tried Flaer. RIP.
He's at least better than his boss when it comes to not being the worst thing ever.
What is with the whip sword boi? L for lord?
L for "Le Swordmancer (who cannot lift)".
Congrats, it's this Roy for another ~10 chapters.
Yay.
Don't remind me... but at least it's better than having a level 12 Roy for another ~10 chapters.
Ah memories. That's about right.
Yeah... and not a single support, which is the weirdest part about it.
But Sophia needed to tell a man because.....
Alright I have nothing, she needed to tell the player and knew it wasn't Cecilia.
Stupid plot!
Also a reminder of yet another person who can marry boi despite it being utterly inappropriate (because she's older than Cecilia and because she's just the worst unit.)
Nonsense. The only ship I accept for Sophia is with Raigh. Those two were made for each other. Eh, character-wise.
And why wouldn't Eliwood tell Roy, especially if Ninian's his mother?
Roy would probably be okay with knowing his lineage.
Because FE7 isn't canon, of course! Eh? Eh?
Oh, God, that sounds so low-quality... it's works so perfectly as a technical difficulties song, it's quite amazing.
That one... not so much.
AAAAAAAND FUCK AGAIN.
Yeah, I really wasn't done screwing around with your mind yet.
Humphrey?
YOU MISSINGNO COPYCAT. YOU MANGALED FUSTERCLUCK. YOU ASP DISGUISED AS FIGS. YOU NAPOLEONIC ASSHOLE. YOU MICROPENIS!
I don't think I got round to mouth off so verbosely at Humphrey, but this was a line crossed.
Yes, I... might've gone slightly too far there.
Yes Raigh, his head should be off his shoulders.
Ugh...
You know what kills me? It's the smile.
It's offputting, making Lugh worse than he was.
That was my intention.
Congrats on bringing these two to places as dark as their parents by the way.
I'm not sure if I should say thanks, but uh... thanks.
I think there might be something wrong with Marcus, did he have a stroke there?
Oh, for the love of-- I make this huge, plot-heavy update with all the plottwist that drops Matthis and Frost into the story and all the drama and the action and the tension, and then I ruin it all with a stupid typo. Damn it all...!
We're off to a desert chapter.
Wohoo. Not only a desert chapter: a FoW desert chapter with a time limit, no less! More on that later.

He remembers an 80yo man with a creepy grin who coincidentally had the same name as you.
God damnit, stop poking holes on my crappy fanfic!
Also, didn't you say at one point that you wouldn't make that many references to that LP?
Eh... I did say that, didn't I... but wait! I also said I would include some continuity, but it would be very self-explanatory! Great Matthis is in my signature, anyone with a brain should be able to make the connection. Hah! I beat you!
sigh. It wouldn't be a Saint Rubenio LP without copious breaking of your own self imposed rules.
Heh, yeah, it's part of the charm. Although it was more epic in the last LP. I had way more rules, and somehow managed to break 'em all.
Oh, for the love of-- I can't even remember what the ATAOD counter is! And where's the "stupid Ruben forgets Roundabout" counter?!
That one would be at 3, by the way.
The axe siblings could also compete in hammer throwing. They've got more than enough strength.
Nah, hammer's are too inaccurate. Also, what are you talking about? Lot's strength isn't that good. It's his speed and defense that makes him amazing.

As opposed to Merlinus, who doesn't believe her story because his favourite hobbie is not believing things.
You know, this makes me wonder... take a look at the map. The desert is between Missur and Etruria. Now, was Cecilia forced to cross the desert to get to Missur? If so... maybe that's why she was all alone facing Bern. The desert took the lives of the others.
So, first of all, let's use a few of our benchies to carry stuff.
Cath takes the torch we bought last chapter.
Right out of the gate, I made a mistake. Can you spot it?
I'll tell you what it is soon enough. But first, the plot.
Ah, Igrene. Such a fine woman, with an even finer personality and backstory. For those who don't know, Igrene actually manages to get Saul to act like a real priest in their support. Not even Dorothy, man. She's that depressing.
Fae also exists.
Jeez, Igrene, she's tiny, give her a br--
No, wait, she can turn into a chickendragon, what's this nonsense about being tired?! Use your damned dragonstone!
...on second thought, don't! It has few enough uses as it is.
She was captured, and then she was moved all the way to Missur and put in a cell inside the castle Cecilia was holding (remember, we never saw Sophia being brought into the castle after Cecilia's defeat). Just so she could be there to lead Roy here. How very convenient...
For... whatever reason.
Pfffft... so blunt. This woman.
Ergh... aren't you supposed to be hurrying? Why drop this random comment for us, the audience?
Yes, hurry. If you got killed, I'd get another deployment slot for a real unit in the finale, but alas, you're a little, adorable kid and people would give me crap if I were to kill you.
Besides, quite honestly, I've never had the heart to get her killed just to get another deployment slot. Only a videogame character, I know, but jeez, my conscience would not be clear.
Spoiler alert: this will give us trouble.
Even more character introductions! Gee, I wonder which of these Bernian gentlemen will be our throwaway boss today?
Wait, but you already have the village seized! Not to mention, Oates and his troops have already broken into Forblaze's shrine and are currently attempting to retrieve the tome of legend. As things stand, you've no reason to expect anybody to attack you, much less to try to take the village back. I really don't understand what odds you want to have tipped in your favour, Randy. There aren't any odds, you've already won! We're going to contest that victory, but the truth is that you have!
But Aquleia is where Narcian is, not the king! Why aren't you making any sense, Randy? Is it just me feeling unusually picky today?!
But only for 30 battles. Then they become glorified civilians.
This means we won't be seeing Zeiss in this chapter, and I'm glad we won't. Having to recruit Zeiss here would just add one more problem to the already huge pile of problems of this chapter. No, thanks.
Another annoying thing about this chapter is the sand. Indeed, it gets everywhere, especially when you're trying to take screenshots.
It definitely looks better when it's moving. Use your imagination, everyone!
Ah, that's good, thank you. Because obviously, here in the Middle Ages of Anime, Roy can totally know where the northeast is by simply looking at his compass.
Actually, he could, because compasses were invented in China between the years 300 and 200 BC. They were brought to Europe in the Middle Ages, circa 1300. I don't know about the Middle Ages of Anime, though.
This is your only hint for the treasure, by the way.
Anyhow, because I'm too stubborn to steal the treasure map from the wiki...
Here's this one I half-assedly made. Unlike in FE12, here, only Thieves are guaranteed to find the items once they step on the correct tiles. Everyone else has a low chance, 10% if I'm not mistaken.
Aside from that, this chapter's... very harsh. Not only do we have a 25 turn limit to get Roy's slow ass to the gate (not too little, but not too much either: chapter 12 this is not), we also have to worry about what feels like a thousand Wyverns, Dragons hidden in the mist, what doesn't feel like but actually IS a thousand Brigands spawning from the south and west after a few turns, a sleep Bishop and an army of Mercenaries and Heroes. All while babysitting one of the worst units in the game.
And if you thought you could just let her stay in a corner? Nuh-uh. First, Brigands will appear everywhere at some point, and I do mean everywhere: the only spot in the entire map that becomes sort of safe at some point is the village area. But that's not the main reason: the main reason is that, in a gargantuan dickmove from the developers, the guiding ring, the last free item to promote Mages until almost the end of the game, can only be obtained by Sophia. Much like the Thieves, she's guaranteed to get it once she gets to the village's entrance, which is... merciful, but doesn't take away from the fact that she needs to survive almost all the way to the seize point.
All in all, this chapter isn't as bad as chapter 7, but it's pretty bad still.
I won't pretend there's anyone here who doesn't know about this chapter's new recruits, but I want to rant, so let's talk about them.
Ah, Cecilia. Cecilia's stats are horrible (Marcus had better bases. Jeigan!), but she has 8 move, C staves and A magic, which means she can be a pretty decent chipper and staffbot. Her growths are weird. 45% skill? Why? If only they swapped her skill and speed growths, she could've been salvageable. Still, she's a decent utility unit.
Really, the absolute worst thing about her is her joining conditions. They gave us a mounted unit in a desert chapter. She joins after the chapter begins, because of course she would. Why give us the chance to keep her away from the sand, like all the other riders and Knights? They could've excused her not joining in this chapter with a simple "General Cecilia is still recovering from her wounds" line from, I don't know, Merlinus! I'd like to know what they were thinking when they decided this was the perfect time for her to join.
Most likely, something similar to what they were thinking when they decided... this, was a good idea.
You see, I could go on an endless rant about why she's the worst thing ever, how her bases wouldn't have worked even all the way back in chapter 1 (she would've gotten doubled by some of the Fighters there!), how her growths do not even begin to justify her pathetic excuse for bases, how her con is even lower than Raigh's (and Raigh already has trouble because of his con)...
But, you know what? As the saying goes, a picture is worth a thousand words, and by that logic, I figure a moving picture with sound would be worth more than a MILLION words!
So, here, this is how Sophia as a unit feels like. Just... this.
Damn, now my rant on Wendy feels very underwhelming compared to Sophia's. But that's about right, as I consider Sophia to be just a tiny bit more painful to use than Wendy. Wendy has 8x, where she can actually train pretty easily, even in hard mode, as I proved back in the day. Sure, she died the following chapter, but my point stands: she got 7 levels, if I recall correctly, and survived the chapter. Sophia has absolutely nothing: at this point in the game, even the enemies in 14x are too much for her to handle.
To summarize, while using Sophia feels like, well, that video, Wendy's """""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""merely""""""""""""""""""""""""""""" this.
I know, I know, once you get them somewhere, Sophia's got potential to be better than Wendy, since she uses magic and gets staves after promoting, but... why am I doing this? Why am I trying to compare the worst units in the game? They're both unusable!
In her defense (God forbid!), though, I'll say that this isn't true for them as characters, as while Wendy's personality is also hilariously bad, Sophia's actually a pretty interesting character. Her support with Raigh is good. Too bad it's already extremely painful to get her to the guiding ring, let alone stick her to the side of the one who completely outclasses her in every single way for three hundred turns.
Even so, much like with Wendy, I'll try. Wish her luck, everyone...
Now, about the mistake I mentioned earlier... this is Cecilia's starting inventory. I usually like to give her a less expensive tome, and a restore staff, so she can try to do something despite her low move. But since I can't reset, and I forgot to give Roy the items... what you see is what we're getting today. Damnit, me...
Okay, let's move out. Thanks to our two Thieves with torches, we can actually see much of the map. Most importantly, we were able to uncover the Wyvern Riders to the north. We'll have to tread carefully around those guys.
First round of desert combat, people! Saul's going to be today's heavy lifter, as the only unit who can move more or less freely (he still needs Dorothy to support him, though) and doesn't die if something looks his way in a funny manner.
Which is why I should've made Roy hold on to another light tome along with Cecilia's goodies, in case Saul's ran out of uses, instead of a bunch of useless statboosters. Jeez... what was I thinking? What in the world were you thinking, past!Ruben?! Sigh...
Cecilia, everyone. Yeah... that aircalibur of hers will be useful, though, since I didn't bring Lilina. Honestly, why didn't I bring Lilina instead of Raigh? Neither she nor Raigh can really take more than two hits, and Raigh's speed is actually worse than Lilina's, yet I brought him, the guy who can't instakill Wyverns. Again, what was I thinking? Well, this time, I actually do have an answer!
favouritismˈfeɪv(ə)rɪtɪz(ə)m/noun-

Ah, such a wonderful thing... we humans are great.
Well, might as well let Cecilia feel useful, since her movement barely allows her to reach Tate after she kills the Mage. I really like her sprite, it looks really good.
First item of the day: the talisman! It's okay, a few of our units could use the res. But this is far from being the main prize to be obtained in this chapter.
Saul moves forward, uncovering a Mage.
Yeah... Tate'd best be careful.
You know what really pisses me off about desert tiles? While I can wrap my head around Knights and Horseriders being severely impaired by the desert... why Warriors? Seriously! All other infantry units get 3 move, half of their total, when promoted, but Warriors only get two, and Fighters, a whopping one. That's Knight-tier mobility. Why? Is this IntSys' way of punishing people for using Lot and Wade instead of... Minerva?!
Bah, whatever. I made yet another mistake. Try to spot it.
Not a very grave mistake, admittedly, but a mistake nonetheless. I definitelly didn't intend this to happen.
Gonzales also deemed it prudent to rub salt into the wound. Aaaaaargh! I know you've 7 skill, man, but your chance of hitting there wasn't bad at all!
Some misguided souls attempt to foolishly bring down the Bishop of Sin.
Needlessly to say, they failed horribly.
Oh, look, a healer. Yey...
Here comes the sleep asshole. Predictably, Sophia falls prey of the foul man of the cloth into a deep slumber.
Save her, Cecilia! It's not like you could reach the Wyverns anyway.
Hmph... this better hit.
Ah, excellent! I knew I could count on you, Raigh.
Another fight, and he'll level up. Not too shabby.
I didn't screenshot this battle, but I doubt there's any need for it.
Cath, ladies and gentlemen. Second only to Wendy and Sophia in terms of being bad at fighting.
Get outta there, girl. I still have work for you.
Gonzales!
Gonzaleeeeeeees!
I'm feeling tempted to post that video yet again... hrrrghhhh...!
Since Gonzales has failed, the Western Reapers may perform emergency maneuvers.
Aha, like so. This does mean they cannot advance this turn, but alas, acceptable losses.
Ergh... seems like I hadn't saved Sophia yet. Meh. Well, I did now.
Oh, you can't be serious...
Well, then. Let's assess the situation.
There's this guy, who can reach Cecilia, and the other guy, who can also reach Cecilia.
Eh. It should be best to get rid of the bigger threat right now, although I reaaaaally don't like risking Tate's life like this.
Okay, she didn't miss. Thank Elimine, or Naga or whoever for that.
Astolfo finds a pair of boots that lack proper grammar buried in the sand. That'll be annoying for whoever wears them, but otherwise, this is quite the find. I'll have to think this one through...
I know, boots are buyable in this game, but honestly, I don't usually take advantage of that. Having an army with overkill movement isn't, in my opinion, as much fun as...
This, or...
This. Although, our Marcus might just get there on his own, he's that good.
Anyhow, that's the turn. I... I have a feeling we might lose somebody very soon.
Ah! Astolfo!
Fuckin' hell, three turns, and Arcadia's already beaten all of our chapters since 10B in terms of bad luck. They couldn't have picked a worse time to crank my unluck meter all the way up to its maximum level! Aaaaargh!
Oh, God, the Mage can reach him... the mage can reach him... nooOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO--
--OOOOOOOOOOOOOOooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooow...
...fuck... my heart... my heart... backup, backup!
It's a miracle, everyone. A miracle! A goddamned miracle! My luck turned around just when I needed it to!
Fuck yeah, let's celebrate your survival by burning your head.
Hmm... there's the Hero. Good to know. I wouldn't want to bump into him with a weaker unit by accident.
I mean, Sophia dies to, quite literally, everything on the map. Raigh, not so much, but the Hero would definitely kill him.
Uhh!
Bah... the foul luck's returned. Maybe it only had to go pee or something. For that, I am grateful. Thank you very much, RNGoddess' urinary system.
These guys are quite the non-issue. Eh, here. If you didn't notice, there's an area around the village that isn't desert. This means that, while this pack of Mercenaries isn't very threatening, the next one will be.
Now, let's kill this Wyvern.
Nice! Although, even if he missed, it wouldn't have been such a big deal. Dorothy's right there.
Eh... he could use the HP ans skill, but I'd really like some more speed better.
Then again, it might be better for plot!us if he didn't grow much stronger.
Since Raigh did well, Dorothy's free to destroy the Wyvern who dared run Astolfo through. Perish!
And thus, Astolfo's out of danger. Very good!
Gonzales will be heading north. When I have some free time, I'll send a Thief overthere, but if Gonzo could snatch the silver card before that, I'd be really happy.
Speaking of snatching... nice! I can think of quite a few units who could really use this one.
And it's back to safety with you, Cath. I'll try to get her as far away from the bandit's reunion point as possible while we still have time.
Other than that, we're just moving forward.
The Mage attempts to do what he couldn't last turn, but to no avail: it seems he's cursed.
Ah, the Bishop reveals himself! Also... what's up with that Priest? Is he... chasing us? What?
Aw, drat.
Wake up, Cecilia! This isn't the time nor the place!
Third time's the charm, as they say. The Mage is finally successful in his intent to electrocute Astolfo.
For all the good it did him. Yes, I did have to use the nosferatu there: in retrospect, it wasn't a very wise move.
Eh, no pain, no gain.
Tate finishes what she started while doubling as a protective wall for Sophia.
You know, I've a funny little story regarding the word "double". Allow me to tell you: years ago, when I first started to play FE and my english wasn't so good, I thought hand axes and javelins were supposed to always double enemies when used from afar, as if they were brave weapons. It baffled me how they didn't. The culprit?
Yeah. I'm not joking.
Anyway, back to the present. Defense! Yeah! Great work, Tate!
That's it. No bandits...?
No bandits, cool.
No, seriously, what's this guy's plan, exactly?
Uh... he wants to silence our mages? No, that doesn't make sense, if that's what he wanted to do, he would've done it a long time ago. He has enough range for it.
...any ideas as to why a Priest is running after us, people?
Maybe he's a Horseman in disguise, and intends to destroy the village, Arcadia. Foul wretch! We can't let him do it!
But first, get up. Such a shame this girl's so bad. Her sprite is great.
Not as great as Raigh's, though.
Hmmmm... I wonder...
Ah! Worth a shot!
C'mon, worth a shot...
...worth a shoooooot...
Baaah! Okay, then, let's get serious now.
Baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah! Saul! Not you too! Although, I'll admit, that's a very nice looking lightning frame. Nice catch, past!me!
Okay, thank you.
We're in turn 6, and Roy's half way to the village. Not bad, but we've just gotten started.
Also, who was it that bet Sophia would last only 3 turns? Dayni? Hah! You've been foiled! How's that feel, huh?!
Very well... next up, defeat Garlyle and his 16 turn bet. A more realistic bet, but nonetheless, it shall not come to pass!
Well, I don't expect this to work, not just yet anyway, but...
A bizarre worthashot right here. Add it to the counter as well.
We're making rapid progress. Let's keep it up.
TOO rapid! Gaaah!
Durr, I wonder if I could feed this promotee kill to Sophia!
May not look like it, but rest assured, he's dead.
Some all-around healing later... even Saul's getting tired of all these boring healing shots. See? He isn't lifting his staff that much. I should probably do like intellingent people and disable healer animations, but that would mean not ever seeing Saul's hat again, or Cecilia's great palette, or Raigh's badass Druid sprite, and I refuse.
I could also not show all the healing, but hey, it might prove to be important!
Let's see if there's anything else worth seeing amidst the mist.
Doesn't seem like it. Let's instead make sure that insolent little Priest doesn't chase us any further, shall we?
Hahah-- oh shit! Tate lost control of her pegasus?! Noooooooo--
Aaargh! ...aaaaaaaaaaah! I underestimated him!
Revengeeee!
Okay, I had my fun, enough silliness now.
Worth a shot #2. Let's see how many it takes for Gonzo to get the card... or for my patience to run out and send Astolfo to get it instead.
Oh, no, they're here.
So, these are our generic bandit leaders of the day. Their gimmick is that they're gay and stupid. Aaaaand that's it, pretty much. I think Japan's trying to tell us something here.
Something along the lines of "we have multiple writers and some of them are far worse than the others; see Orlo", I wager.
Yes, please do that so I don't have to endure your presence.
Oh, doggone it...
Oh, dear, they've been ambushing travelers?! That's not nice!
Well, would you look at that, Dunderhead here has a plan.
Yes! A marvelously wonderful idea! Genius! Except for the part where you still cannot return home because we won't be there to lead you back out of the desert.
Yeah, don't waste time, my generic idiots. I look forward to adding your heads to Lot's kill count.
Since one of our new guests has already left the safety of the sandstorm, we can take a look at his stats. he's... not that great. He wouldn't take more than a turn of Wade and Lot's combined efforts.
That said, we don't want to risk a critical hit. He could probably one-shot everyone in the army if he got lucky. Assuming he didn't just one-shot himself, of course. The fact that he's got a chance of killing himself makes him a tad less dangerous than his dear Maggie, whom we'll soon see.
Speaking of Maggie, let's drop Cath so we can have a look-see. Also, things are going to get messy, and I don't want Cath inconveniencing the Western Reapers.
Like so. His stats are better than roses in the areas that count (skill), and he has a weapon that doesn't kill him, which makes things worse for me.
Way to be a dick, though. Halberd, really? As if we didn't have enough reasons not to bring a Paladin to this chapter...
Before I forget, Echidna, please equip your sword. It'll serve you better than an axe in this situation.
Well, that's it for the southern flank. Let's move on to Roy's Bois.
Just some healing and lightning flingling. Nothing out of the ordinary.
B rank! Amazing! And we haven't even gotten Aureola yet! If I can keep this up, I'll prove that light magic is, in fact, viable in this game. If only because Saul, along with Dorothy, are my second best units after the Western Reapers. Treck gets the bronze medal. Sorry, he needs to work on his speed. But hey, he made it into the top 3!
Anyhow, Raigh's been getting quite lucky with his low accuracy as of late. I guess he's just siphoning everyone else's luck. Although, seeing how Astolfo was saved by... whatever, I suppose I shouldn't be complaining too much.
That's that. Turn end.
Here comes the Hero, rushing to his untimely demise. Good boy.
The Western Reapers are being attacked from two sides, but as long as they can make it just a little further, that will stop being an issue.
See that spot Cath is standing on? That's the only maneuverable tile in that narrow part of the path. If I can get Lot to block it, we'll only have to deal with one guy at a time, along with an avalanche of hand axes, of course, but considering these are all Gonzo clones, they probably won't even have a chance to hit at all.
Meanwhile, might as well start taking on the bosses, seeing how they're the only truly dangerous ones here. His chance of hitting should be low enough, given Echidna's high speed and WTA, and since the crit dice is rolled after it's been decided the attempt to hit will be successful (I think, correct me if I'm wrong), I'm not too worried.
I'm not too worried, but I'm worried. It's always best to be worried when it comes to FE.
More torching. Visibility's very important.
Jeez, killing edge? This guy's going down right now.
Saul! C'moooon! I can't fix your horrible magic, energy rings barely exist at all in this game!
Meh... maybe Raigh?
Oh, well, it was bound to happen eventually. It could've happened with the last few unpromoted scrubs, instead of here, but let's not complain.
Hey, that's good, at least!
And thus, the Hero falls. He did nothing of note, and will not be remembered.
Aaaaaargh!
Better.
Well, then. Let's hope for the best.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! WHAAAAAAAT!?
YOU SON OF A BITCH! GARGANTUAN CESSPOOL! ASS OF AN ASS! CHERNOBYLIAN HELLSPAWN! TREACHEROUS SWINE! ROTTING BRAINS! FLAMIN' BAG OF SHIT! POOPYHEAD!
WHAT WERE THE CHANCEEEEEEEES?!
Of COURSE we wouldn't be able to get out of Arcadia without any casualties! Of course something would go wrong! It's fucking Arcadia! If it doesn't ruin someone's day, it's not happy! Well, you know what, Arcadia? I'm not fucking happy either! I'm going to beat you, and I'm not going to reset! You won't defeat me, accursed chapter! You hear me?! YOU HEAR ME?!?!
I laughed to keep from crying when this happened, but I'm not fuckin' laughing right now, as I rewatch these events and try to write a comedic rant to make people happy! TIME TO GET SERIOUS!
Hah. Not a chance, shitheads. Not with Dorothy.
Oh, you two are going down... you're dead!
FUCK
YOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!
Whoa, Wade was angered by Echidna's death as well, eh? Hahah... good, good. That speeds things up.
Just be glad Lot didn't smack you with the Armads. Although, that would've been a faster death than the world's mightiest arrow, probably.
In conclusion, fuck you, Maggie, go to hell.
Are you serious!?
Hmmm... nope!
Instead, Lot attacks the Brigand below Wade.
Agh! Flashbangs! Stop it, Cath! I swear, if somebody else dies because of you...
Whoa... would you look at that! Not a single foggy tile in sight! I must be dreaming...
Also, yes, before too many Brigands appear around the silver card area, Astolfo's going to get it. That's the plan, at least.
Saul and Dorothy team up to kill a guy and that's about it.
Rose can reach the axe siblings... but what are the chances of that happening again?
...
...can I reset now?
Just kidding. Wade got hit, but not critically so. Aha... your last mistake, Rosey!
Argh! What's that?!
Eh, whatever it was, I'm sure it wasn't anything important. In other news, Wade levels up!
Hm. Not bad, not bad at all. I appreciate the skill.
A whole lot of dodging later, we're finally free to move again.
Hmmm...
Bring in the mighty Armads!
My foolish friend, don't look so down. You shall soon join your beloved... in death!
Die!
Hahahahah! Bold, but futile!
Down you go!
Holy shit. The Armads ruined that dude's face...
Echidna's death has been avenged.
In flying colours! Hahahahahahah! Yes!
I think this is a good enough place to end the update. Next time, we'll hopefully leave the desert without any further casualties. Until then...
...feel free to suggest a sword user. Seriously. We've lost literally all the dedicated sword users in the game. Even the most bizarre one, Noah, has bitten the dust. I'm at a loss as to what to do with the durandal now... help me out!
Where was I? Ah, yes. Until then, don't you dare fare bad!
What do you mean, the kid's behaving strangely?
He is. Back before we left Missur, I found him standing alone on one of the big bridges.
What is so strange about that?
I heard voices. One of them was definitely not his. He was not talking to himself, I can assure you. But when I arrived, there was nobody else.
Did you recognise the other voice?
No... it felt familiar, somehow, but despite that it wasn't like any voice I've ever heard. It felt... distorted, in a way.
Do you think it could be bad news, Sir Marcus?
I do. That's why I've waited until they left for Arcadia. I don't want him to know I noticed more than I initially let on.
...what are we to do?
Hmm... for now, let's be careful. I don't think he knows about your... situation, Ruben, and we certainly don't want him to. One of us should keep an eye on him, both in and out of the battlefield. If he plans to do anything, we must know in advance.
I'll do that. I know how to move around a battlefield without being noticed. And because of my wounds, I've nothing else to do. He shouldn't be suspicious of a bored, washed up knight. After all, he didn't even bother asking me about Ruben.
That sounds like a most sensible plan.
Indeed. I entrust this mission to you, Lance. I knew I could count on you, despite your injuries.
I am honoured, Sir Marcus. I shall not disappoint you!
Good... now that we've some free time, we must discuss a certain matter, Ruben.
What is it?
Stop falling asleep during our nightly prayer! Have you no respect?!
O-oh but uh I...
No excuses! Tonight, I want you to be the one to say it!
But... it already is tonight!
Exactly. You have five minutes to carve this into your memory. Then, we'll be off.
Aw, c'mon... I don't... sigh...
...this is going to be fun...
Really? Did you really just say that?
Yes, as a matter of fact, I did. Now move. You've four minutes.
...
To be continued.

Part 27 - Reinforcements! So much reinforcement!
On 9/3/2018 at 6:01 PM, Dayni said:Raigh, you might want to listen to him for a second.
Your dickish streak might backfire.
Maybe it will, maybe it won't. Only time will tell.
Nope. Still snow on the hills too (though they're pretty much mountains anyway)
Sheesh... what, you live in the north pole?
Ah yes, the old carry bags made out of your spare units trick. I use it far too often.
It's the only way to handle everything!
Ah yes, Bern having an easy job of invasion because traitors are everywhere.
Could be better sealing the deal as we'll see.
Yeah...
Well, when in doubt take everything to make it as hard as you can. Can't call Cecilia stupid.
She's Cecilia, nothing about her is stupid.
But Ruben, she marries her st--
That is not a thing that exists. Shut up.
Zephiel wanders in because he heard Narcian screw up again.
That's quite the noble cause. I can accept that.
There is no nee-chan? Was Idoun looking for her brother the whole time?
Pffft. Oh, you.
Yes Lilina, that did.
Augh...
My headcanon is that she's not much of a combatant but still good at everything else as a mage general.
Also an acceptable headcanon.
Flaer: If only he had more of a chance to develop, he might have been something.
Yeah. Such a shame this is FE6.
I'd still be afraid of this man. Concern isn't going away.
I mean, I as well, but... more so of Murdock. Murdock's such a powerhouse.
Percival: Never wanted to be at the party in the first place.
I mean, the party's all about killing his colleague. I understand his undesire to remain there.
You're not wrong. Would dent the moment a bit though. Maybe if they treated it like Galuf in FF5?
Yeah, that one managed to merge gameplay and story in a brilliant way. As opposed to Cecilia getting killed three times over and then be up and fighting the following chapter. Well, sort of, because desert.
Credit to Zephiel, he makes that look effortless. Ekesacks even splits into two there.
Is it any wonder Cecilia got rocked there?
Now imagine if this was like the manga and he was akimbo wielding the Eckesachs and the Binding Blade... poor Cecilia.
Not to Zephiel though. Everyone else struggled though, fair is fair. She did threaten Bern a bit.
Well, he did give her the "honour" to face him.
Lot might be able to. In our dreams. What can he do with bows and axes against him right now?
May I remind you he has the Armads? It'd take a while, but eventually, Zephiel would fall to Lot's overwhelming might.
Merlinus just watches the lighting and goes "Yep, it's all over now. Might as well tell the kid his mentor's dead."
Stupid Merlinus... I don't know what, but he did something stupid there, I'm sure.
Ah, Pent likely took it back there.
So I might want some of Elibean Nights to be canon. So?
Wow. That's... actually genius, and it never occured to me.
Well, that's one plothole fixed by the fans. Good work, IntSys.
A few for Zephiel is always many. It's why he got poisoned all those years ago, Desmond poisoned one bottle of beer and Zephiel drank all of them at the party he was at.
Pfffft. So, all along, Desmond did nothing wrong. Mind's officially blown.
Well, a villain needs a flaw. His is an inability to read any person.
Oh god, is he autistic? Should I not be insulting him with that? Does that make me a hypocrite?
Well, I'm a little autistic (Asperger's, to be precise) and I'm not taking any offense, so there's that. Stating a fact is not the same as insulting.
Although, after 10 years of attending to a psychologist, the most my autism does at this point is make me play weird, boring games such as, I don't know, that stupid game where you move animes around a board and painstakingly watch and they fight by themselves. As well as to embarrass myself playing it in front of a forum full of veterans and pros.
Still. My point stands.
New counter counter? Nah, I'm not that mean.
New counter counter counter. Counter-inception counter. No, please.
Because she needed to not bring too much. 3 people and a wyvern might be too easy to find.
Eh, I guess that's true. But she could've tried to subtly let her know.
Sue could do it! Right? She's also there I guess.
Sue, kill Minerva? Bwahahahahahahahahaaaaaaah... don't make me laugh.
Miredy's fun in the "I AM A GOD" way. And a second flier next chapter will still be useful. Once Percival shows up if you're using all the OP units the game really starts snowballing into eaiser times.
Hence why I am not using all the OP units. Everyone's bound to their own opinions, and my opinion is that's boring. I will be using Sophia, whether the universe likes it or not.
As a side note, Twilight of the Gods is glorious. I don't know I'd put it above Id (Purpose), but it's a great conclusion to what might be the best soundtrack of the best era of FE soundtracks.
Yeah, 3DS soundtracks are great. Although, in my opinion, Tellius and the DS remakes also have pretty good soundtracks, even if there isn't as much usage of chorus as in the 3DS. "Footsteps of Fate", "Wheeling Corby", "Beauty is a Mad Mistress", the DS version of "Together we Ride", Shadow Dragon's preparations theme...
Narcian clearly is used to this multitasking thing. He's perfect at passing it off to others.
Such peerless skills, his are. With any luck, we'll soon be seeing just how good he's at dying.
Yeah no, Jahn doesn't. I'll say why when it comes up.
Well, then. It's been a long time since I last paid any attention to FE6's plot, so I'm ashamed to admit, I can't remember.
Zephiel might have learned from some documents related to Hartmut or something.
Well... okay. He's depicted as a very erudite person, even before he went mad. Let's say that's it.
Although, Hartmut? Why Hartmut? It was Athos that found the village, according to some fanfiction. Should Arcadia be described in documents regarding Athos, instead?
Well, in Fates he'd have weapon advantage, so he'd be doing better. Fates is weird sometimes.
...bows > lances, how...? I mean, the weapon triangle doesn't make that much sense to begin with, but...
Rutger, Light? Nah, you need someone who thinks the world sucks, who walks around with dark books and is generally condescending to everyone.
Raigh, is that you?
Oh my God, that's actually true. You see, the reason I didn't see the similarities is that I hate Light with a burning passion, while Raigh is one of my favourite characters in FE. As well as the fact that Raigh isn't actually such a bad person in reality. Light's a maniac and I hate him.
Okay, maybe not with a burning passion, but I hate him. Not really because of what he does, but because I absolutely despise when main characters have their cocks sucked all the time, being oh so perfectly boring, everything goes their way and nobody gets even close to scratching them.
C'mon, give him a damn flaw. Lelouch Vi Britannia was a much better character because of this, in my humble opinion.
Why would anything dodge? It's not like this is BS.
Maybe if she got Lyn's growths. :P
Why, you...
They're preparing for the future Elibean Olympics.
They're the gymnastics team for the Western Isles. Gonzales will be the weight lifting rep. Lot will be the sprinter.
Well, they're bound to win every medal, then. I can just imagine the Etrurians green with envy as their "inferiors" beat them in every competition.
Except Cecilia. Cecilia's a decent human being, she'd accept defeat graciously.
He's a judgemental person. it's why nobody goes to Missur.
Other than the fact that missur is just two huge bridges, a lone village and an old keep?
She's too busy with a skipping rope.
Truly, an essential task to ensure mankind's continued survival.
Of course it is.
He'd make a charity drive about himself.
I won't donate anything but a kick to the nuts.
I mean, he's dodging both defending against Lycia and the task he was just given.
Death will come. SOON.
If we survive chapter 14.
I'm liking that sprite actually. The ballista might not move in BB, but it having a sprite was nice.
I'd want the best of both worlds in a remake though. #MBMA
Yeah, to this day, I still don't understand why they scrapped the sprite.
It's certainly a declaration of war.
And they didn't take Bern up on it because MUH KING!
Damnit, are you blind?! Didn't you read the part where I especifically said I hadn't forgotten about the song yet?! Is this going to be the new running gag of the LP, "stupid Ruben can't remember Roundabout"?!?!
Does it count as a dishonourable reset?
Well, she hasn't died yet... although, this is an issue we must address. More on it later.
Ah yes, Louise being quite nice to someone.
She's a nice woman.
That.... Might not have been the best time.
On the other hand, it might have been after all. Clarine's death will be forgotten with an enemy force charging in.
Maybe...
SURE, THERE'S NO WAY THIS COULD BE A LIE.
No joke, I thought I saw Robin here for a sec.
As a villain. That would have been crazy. I'd also have called it here, Robin is OP.
Well, you were wrong, obviously, but if I ever want to introduce Robin to the crappy fanfic, I've the perfect portrait for it:
Ah yes Humphrey, maybe now you'll explain what you're doing?
You called it. Although... I doubt that was what you had in mind.
Next time: Everyone gets off the bridges?
Hopefully!
On 9/3/2018 at 10:50 PM, eclipse said:What kind of insult is tribe of Polynesians?
Really? I've been using Captain Haddock's nonsensical curses throughout both LPs, and just now you're asking this? Go ban yourself!
...just kidding, don't ban meeeeeeeeee... I should probably lay off the mod jokes.
SpoilerLast time, this happened.
Today, we'll find out whether she'll die or not. But first, Wade destroys everyone.
Oh, no, not now... not the blasted flashbangs! Is it Tate? Is this Tate getting hit?! Noooooo!!
Ooooooaaauuuuuuuuuuuuuuuurgh...!
Uunnhh... that was far too close...
So, this time we got lucky, but this is one thing I've never really thought much about: what if one of the gaiden-critical characters was to die in battle? It's a bit less of an issue with Tate here, since we'd only lose the chance to go to Ilia, but if Milady/Zeiss died, then what?
Well, I've been thinking, and I think this is what I'll do
whenif the time comes: I'll just reset (I suppose adding a dishonorable reset to the counter) and discharge the unit in question for life, like Lance and Jerrot. If Tate/Sue are to fall in battle, I'll only bring them again for chapter 16x to boss-abuse Windham so as to be able to go to both routes, then bench them once more. This means they'll effectively be dead, but we won't miss the gaidens. In a true ironman run, I'd just have to press on, but we're here for the show, and I'm sure all of you want to see me trudge through the pain that is Jahn's chapter, right?
Pfft. Look at all those circles. Who said this guy is one of the worst units in the game, again?
Heal up, Tate. I'd really rather not lose you.
Although, if you already almost died today, I fear tomorrow...
In other news, Sue levels up after failing to kill a Wyvern Rider.
...well, I mean, she is Lyn's daughter according to some fanfiction within some fanfiction, right? I guess that explains why she's so... so... aaaaarrgh!
Take the kill, Raigh.
And with that, but one Wyvern remains.
Hmm... do I dare?
Why, of course I did. It's not like he would've died if he got hit. Such a shame I can't bring you to Arcadia. You'd be so useful there...
And Gonzales finishes the foul deed. Doo duru doo roo!
That was my attempt at reprising the level up jingle. How'd you like it?
Defense is good, thank you. Now, work on your hitrate. 58%'s just pathetic.
Well, that's it for the damnable Riders, at any rate. Give back the silver lance, Tate, you can't use that.
Now, for the Olympic team...
They're doing fine. Now leaderless, the reinforcement brigade rides rapidly towards their inevitable demises. Lot's about to level up, as well.
There we go. Let it be a good one.
Would you believe, this is just par for the course for Lot? 4 more points, and we won't even need Dougy for anything.
Heck, what am I talking about? Between his supports and his tremendously blessed resistance, we already don't need Dougy for anything. Other than to support with Geese, and that's a really pathetic thing to do.
Echidna finally gets to fight a little. It could've ended really badly for her, but it didn't, and I'm thankful for that.
Other than that, it's just the usual mossaic of one-sided fights.
Which continue all the way into the player phase.
Yeah... they didn't stand a chance. While that happens, the southern team cautiously lures a Mercenary closer.
Outclassed!
Ah! No! Echidnaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! Stop it!
Oh, why... your death will be slow and painful.
Oh, please... why is this happening to me?
At least she didn't get hit yet another time. That would've made me really angry.
Guy down, bring in the next one.
He's a tad better than the other ones. Namely, he's a far better hero than Echidna. Aside from that, he shouldn't give us much trouble.
Well, only one Cavalier left. That was painless enough, even though Echidna got really unlucky. But what is the chance of more reinforcements appearing?
Yeah... around 100%. Rats.
Once again, you're outclassed!
Holy mother of fuck.
Oh, dear... Echidna's in no condition to face another round of this.
Very well, then. Plan B: run. I know I'm running towards them, you don't need to mention it. Obviously, I've got a plan.
Oh, well, it was a predictable result.
Lilina's fine. Lilina could use the experience.Given the nature of the next chapter, so I need her to be in top condition.
Time for ol' Jeigan to face a promoted unit.
All things considered, he didn't do that bad. Although, he's starting to fall behind now. His strength is really lacking.
Phew... they didn't make it to us yet. So, here's the deal:
First, dodge this asshole once more. Thank you, Echidna.
Second, assume a defensive stance, with lot defending the wounded Echidna and Wade by her side to cover her back, just in case, and build up their support while at it.
You know, this is remind me of something...
Ah, of course.
Anyhow, the Hero's at a measly 14 HP now. Hm... I wonder...
Pffft. Of course not.
Worth a shot...?
Worth a shot.
W O R T H A S H O T
I didn't want to do this, since Treck got doubled, but oh, well. It's not like he does that much damage anyway.
More experience for Tate. She'll need it.
With all the nearby enemies dead, it is safe to visit this village.
I don't know, I can't see it yet. And Dorothy's not even looking at yo, so...
Ah, it's another one of the manga weapons. This one makes even less sense, since this guy is talking as if Al stood up to Bern a long time ago, while the manga supposedly takes place in parallel with FE6.
It's not a bad sword. Better than the iron sword, but lighter than the steel sword. In other words, the perfect sword for Echidna. If she survives this chapter, that is.
In any case, that's it. Time to pray to Elimine for Echidna's safety.
Oh, no, not an axereaver!
Whoa... who's the killer now?! Hahahah...
Much like everyone else, these fools don't stand a chance.
Even their leader fails to make the cut.
The worst part is that they brought another healer alongside the cannon fodder. So annoying...
Ah, crap. Couldn't quite kill the asshat.
Well, I suppose he'll live to annoy me another day. Echidna's going to be attacked now, there's nothing I can do about it. Well, other than, y'know, give her something to heal, but it's too late for that.
Hey, since we've got the time, let's visit another house.
Ahem... hurgh hmpph! Gahhaaack!
You know the rest. Hm.
Also, that's a really weird thing to say to an ugly spaniard who just broke into your house.
Oh, look! A helpless healer! Such sad! PERIIIIIIIIIISH!
She... didn't perish. Drat.
That may look bad, but this is Lot we're talking about. It's not bad.
Some of the enemies have deemed it wiser to circle around the hill to attack Wade.
Their last mistake.
Well, that Paladin's dead. Good thing he went for Wade, too, he could use the experience better than Lot.
Lot, fed up with all the javelins, decides to prepare to sprint away. Or at least, I think that's what that pose is. Maybe he's just going to run a few laps around the village to train for the Olympics while the javelins fall.
Good news, everyone: Echidna lives to fight another turn!
Bad news, everyone: if you hadn't noticed, the second wave of reinforcements brought yet another healer along. Sheesh, girls, you're the worst things in this map since Narcian left.
What?! Seriously!?
Oh, please... well, at least he dodged the counterattack. It's a setback, but not a fail.
Well, can't really do much more. Echidna can't do much damage to the Paladin, so instead, she opts for equiping her iron axe to maximize the chance of dodging the incoming projectiles.
Down south, nothing happens. At this point, I wanted to focus on the western team, giving Roy's Bois a breather.
Nice. You run away.
The healer we tried to whack earlier runs past Flaer and the remaining Bernians to heal. How ironic.
Okay, Wade, you failed last time, but now the time has come to redeem yourself.
Well redeemed, Wade.
Uh... why does my army like this level up so much? I mean, sure, this is only the second time we've gotten it, the first being Raigh, but... it doesn't make it any less anoying.
That said, I'll take this over last LP's 7 or so empty level ups any day. Only Leiden can do that while remaining awesome, and Leiden and his jacket sadly don't exist in Elibe.
Remember when I said I'd give Roy's Bois a breather? Well, Saul's not a Boi. He's judge Saul Frollo...!
See? The world became dark as soon as he stepped forward!
Good Lord, these enemy phases are so intense... especially after Ogier died exactly like this. Twice.
Urk!
Die, all of you! Echidna shan't die!
Now that there aren't a thousand Cavaliers blocking the way, Echidna moves to a nearby forest tile in order to axe this guy to death. Hah! Not so tough now that your prey can defend herself, are you?
Lot helps Wade holster his axe. I'd like to feed that Paladin to Echidna, she could use the experience.
Saul levels up again. Please get magic, please get magic...
You... you...!
He's determined to be the speediest motherfucker around and nothing else, huh? Oh, well, could be worse. He could be like Ogier, getting skill and skill alone.
Dorothy kills a guy also. No level ups for her, though. Also, I know, I shouldn't waste the silver bow.
Whoa, a Cavalier with a killing edge? Is it Noah?
Oh, of course, I'm so silly, that can't be it... Noah died in chapter 7 because the AI is horrible and chapter 7 is the deepest circle of hell.
Whoa! Worth a shot, for real this time!
Likewise!
Eh, it's fine. You could use some more speed and skill, but this is fine.
Through a complicated trading scheme, Marcus manages to skewer the killing edger's crotch, which is very effective, thus killing him instantly.
Last enemy. Might as well let Tate deal with him by herself.
Before you worry, no, unless Flaer suddenly gets the urge to fly off the gate to stab her (which would be the smart idea, mind you, but alas, FE6, can't do that), there's noone around to finish her off.
The rest of the army hangs around behind her.
Oh, he went after Dorothy, I see. Smart man. But that won't save him.
Oh, please... they better start throwing out some great level ups to make up for this crap. Treck's was amazing, for sure, and Tate lived, which I am profoundly grateful for, but I want more. Is it too much to ask, after all this foul luck? After, y'know, losing 19 people?
Pfhahahah, 0% chance to hit. Sorry, dude, you tried.
Oh look! Is it a bird?
Is it a plane?!
No!
It's Echidna of the bugged axe!
It's a shame that small graphical glitch is there. Her critical animation is absolutely badass otherwise.
Axereaver? Bwahah! You can't reave the Reaper! The Western Reaper! Zalwade!
Gyaah! Stop it!
Wait, is Lot bitchslapping the Paladin? Seriously! If you use your imagination, that's sort of what it looks like!
Hahahahah... the Western Reapers have once more brought forth death upon the helpless masses of foolish enemies of the righteous! Hahahahah! So much pooooweeeer!
Anticlimatic healing.
Cavalier down. You shan't assault helpless Snipers no more. Now give Tate a good level up!
My prayers... they have been answered...
Well, she's officially caught up to Sue. Now she just has to surpass her to make up for Shanna's level deficit compared to Shin. Shouldn't be too hard: after all, Tate's pretty good, while Sue's this LP's answer to last LP's Castor: Noone knows why she's still here or how she's still here, but she's here, and she'll be until the end of the LP. Lest she risks being deemed worse than Castor, and I don't think anybody'd want that to happen.
Treck rides ahead to throw a javelin at a Cavalier.
At this point, the chapter's more or less beaten.
Wha-- more reinforcements?! No! Echidna!
Oh, no, don't you dare hit Lot again...
Hahah! Excellent! Lot senses the upcoming danger and prepares for it.
Treck keeps it up. He won't be killing this guy, probably, but all EXP is good EXP.
The cowardly Cavalier (notmy!Matthis?) keeps on fleeing the scene. I'm so happy for him.
...
...wait, did the fucking healers just... did they really dare to...
...I can't believe my eyes...
...
...GYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH! Healeeeeeeeeeeeeeers!
That's it, fuck the Geneva convention, you're all going down!
Uh... all in due time. All in due time. Let's not get impatient. I did say their deaths would be slow and painful, after all.
Well, at least they can no longer stop us from moving about. The Western Reapers will be heading for the forest over which the cursor is hovering next turn.
Lilina roasts the Cavalier that was tenderized by Treck.
Capped magic, everyone. This is why Lilina's fun. Sure, she sucks in everything else, but look at that damned magic.
Look, Roy getting a kill! Isn't this such a wondrous sight?
There we go. Without further ado, let us wait until next turn to start fighting Flaer himself.
The newest pack of reinforcements, predictably, go after the Western Reapers. However...
They were too late.
Oh, healer on healer action, except this time, they're both red. How very annoying... although... hm... this is getting me thinking...
RAAAAAAAAH DAAAAAAAwe failed, moving on.
Look, it's almost like they're trying to defend the Olympic team from their opponents. Good effort, but that won't save them.
Time to take on Flaer. Quick reminder of his stats before we do so.
The plan's to let Dorothy handle everything.
Flaer's problem is that he doesn't get to use the gate's bonuses, which makes him far weaker than most other non-Ein bosses.
He doesn't stand a chance, although there are better candidates for the boss kill than Dorothy. Here's hoping she won't crit...
Especially since she already got a level up. It's bad, but after her great streak, I can give her a pass. She's already better than both Klein and Igrene.
The axereaver fails to reave an axeman, an axeman fails to axe a lancer... jeez, what's next?
Ah, I see. Just the usual.
Oh, don't you worry... your punishment awaits you. Soon...
But first, these buffoons.
Hahahah, oh my, seems like Wade does not want to be left behind by his friend! He already has, sorry, but don't feel bad about it. He's better than you, but that doesn't make you any less epic. Not to mention, you have something he doesn't: a skipping rope, and Echidna as his partner!
You know, I'd like to take a moment to appreciate the fact that these guys just took on an entire army and won. I know, I know, that's very common in FE, but this isn't Perceval, or Minerva, or Rutger. These are axemen in one of the worst games for axemen in the series. Hahahah... when I had the idea to use these two (and later, Echidna), I certainly wasn't expecting them to become my MVPs. Guess life's nice sometimes.
Before you ask, Dayni, no, Sue can't do anything. She barely doesn't get one-shot, which I appreciate, but I'd rather not risk the crit for such negligible damage.
Raigh can't do it, either. That speed of his is dragging him down. That Guiding Ring can't come too soon.
Lilina fares a little better, not getting doubled, but she still has a rather high chance of missing, and then she'd get 1HKO. That's something I'd rather avoid.
Hmmm... let's wait a little for now. Let the guy heal so Dorothy can really bring him down to a sliver of health.
Like so.
Ah, the power of supports. Thanks to them, we turned this FE6 scenario into one worthy of being in FE7.
Also, Wade just turned his axe into a mace. He's Zalwade, he can do that.
Echidna does something weird too. She gets a level for her efforts.
Perfect. For Echidna, this is perfect.
Not a chance, people. Give it up!
Oh, for the love of everything that is holy, stop it!
Good effort, healers, but it was all in vain. Soon, you shall be all alone, and then... mwahahahah...
But before that...
Urk! Flaer managed to hit Dorothy!
Good effort, but it was for naught, for his end is neigh.
Yes! Jeigan's still got it!
FOR MY HONOUR AS A KNIGHT OF PHERAE!!
Nonsense. You did well, given the circumstances. You weren't as great as Orlo, but you were still good enough. Thank you, Flaer, for not being another Morgan.
And guess what! It's a level up for Oifey! Hype! Hype! Hype hype hy--
Ah, blistering barnacles in a blue barrel, but I suppose it was bound to happen eventually. You're still the best Jeigan, Marcus, don't fret over this.
Well, all that's left is to clean up the upper left corner, assuming no more reinforcements spawn.
They all try their luck against Echidna. No dice, however.
And so, the Etrurian Cavaliers...
...are no more, courtesy of the Western Reapers, official Olympic team of the Western Isles! Heck yeah!
And now, for these bitches... I'm going to healer-abuse. Yep. Sorry if somebody thinks it's cheating, but I want Echidna to get some sword EXP to get her closer to Durandal. I mean, if she doesn't get Durandal, who will? Roy? Pfah!
She also leveled up a couple of times throughout the whole process. Yeah... that's not very good, honestly.
That's it. We're free to go!
B swords! She almost broke her iron sword to get there, though. I'll have to get her a new one.
Speaking of getting new things, Roy sells the gems for fun and profit.
Then, I buy a crapton of stuff. Mostly, some more iron things, and a bunch of killer weapons. Sadly, no axes in this armory, because FE6.
Then, Minerva sells her steel lance. Why, you ask?
So Roy can go to the arena, of course! I need more money.
Yes, Roy. I know, I know, "Ruben isn't this too much of a risk!?". Well, no. You see, with some others I might risk going over 750, but with Roy, I'm not taking any chances. If I always bet below 700, there'll be virtually no chance of Roy getting one-rounded, which means I'll always be able to press B if Roy is in danger of dying.
Like right here.
There's also the fact that Roy's never going to get to level 20 normally. I'm sorry, but he struggles to get healer kills right now. Healer kills. I'd rather just get him to level 20 right now and forget he exists.
Now, for the million dollar question: will this make Roy too good, breaking the game's difficulty curve?
Hahah... no.
Here's Roy's crit animation, because I doubt we'll see it much after this.
Neat! That's not too bad. Five more of these, and he might be useful yet.
Also, I bought so much, now Merlinus can't take anymore. Damnit, Merlinus!
For the time being, I'll let Roy hoard some of the stuff...
And Minerva, as well! Vulneraries, another torch, and another restore. I think that's enough shopping for today.
And it's back to the arena for Roy. I want to get some more cash for Arcadia's shops, as well as get Roy to level 20.
Look, a house! Let's see the no doubt very useful things they have to say.
I... I know, I saw it also, as did Merlinus.
Look, another crit! Roy bent his sword, forming the shape of an "L". I wonder what that means...
...omigosh, Roy's L! Le shock! Then that means Raigh's his worst enemy... mind-blown.
Also, he just barely let the Soldier live so he could stab him with his lance. Fsss...
So, Roy's progress.
This is level 20 Roy. Does this make him too good, or even just good? No, actually, he's still my weakest unit. If anything, he's surpassed Geese, and that's it. He's marginally less weak now, but he's still just a much, much worse version of Echidna who can't even use most swords without being weighed down.
Here's the final turncount. Holy crap.
Let's seize before Cecilia dies of old age, shall we?
Ah, there she is!
Nonsense. You did pretty well, all things considered.
Ah, she's there too.
Quote on quote, """"""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""shaman""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""".
How's "now" finer than before? We don't have time now, if you want us to save your village!
Oh, such a tragedy.
Honestly though, I love how she drops that bombshell like it's no big deal.
Zephiel did, though. For... whatever reason.
Oh, no, Merlinus is here... why don't you let Delphin loose and go back to your convoy to feel sorry for yourself?
Yeah!
No, wait, this means we're going to Arcadia! Nooooo...
Good, let's hear it.
Wait, why is it going dark all of sudden?
...what?!
Oh, son of a--
I almost forgot, Saul got this while Roy was powerleveling. Once again, notmagic/10.

Arran: To find my end... in battle... was my one true wish...
I love Arran's character. Despite being an Archanean, both his personality and his backstory are great, and how he actually develops between the two books. I find it interesting how dying before the conclusion of book 2 is a better ending for his character than surviving both books, unlike most others. Think about it: the guy hides how bad his sickness really is so that Marth doesn't send him home, and keeps overextending himself to serve him as he believes he deserves. And in the end, when his weakness and recklessness finally catch up to him, he's happy, for he knows his journey for redemption has finally come to an end. He's finally earned his own forgiveness. It's a simple quote, but it encapsulates this perfectly.
My headcanon is that he recklessly charges at Lang, and when the latter runs him through with his lance, he grabs it and prevents the foul General from pulling it out, sacrificing himself to give someone else the chance to bring him down. The perfect end for a Jeigan: to die Jeiganing. Lang is also the point in the game when he truly starts to drop off (Sirius, I know, but he can still hold his own for a few chapters after Sirius joins), so I think it's a good moment for his "canonical" death.
Raigh: Hngh! In this world... there are only fools...
Raigh's quote is another one I'm rather fond of. It's badass, and it fits his character. I like to think that he's refering to himself as a fool too.
Valter: Urggh... Gaaaaah!
I find this one hilarious. Valter, the pompous murderer, the poetic psycopath, the pretentious manhunter! Valter, the great moonstone of Grado! Valter, he who shall bring death to the twins of Renais, and doom to the whole continent!
...dies with a pathetic scream. He doesn't even get a chance to cry a little like Narcian. Nope. He just screams and dies. How ironic.
Lyon: Where... where did I go wrong?
Oh, Lyon, where indeed. He may've liked to pretend he was in control throughout Ephraim's route, but only in his death he realised, he was mad. No matter how much he tried to think he wasn't, that's sad, unquestionable truth.
-
...you're sure you don't know where he is?
No... but my boss left with a letter for him and some others.
He left? He left where?
I dunno, he just told me he'd be leaving and then he left. I thought to ask him where he was going, but he left, so...
...
Well, if you don't have any more questions, I think I'll uh... mm... zzzz... zzzz...
...
...what do you mean, you don't know him?
I mean I don't know him. I joined this army just a little while ago. I've never seen that Ruben you speak of.
Hmm, I see...
But that's enough of that. I am planning on building a new village in the Western Isles. It'll be for those left homeless by the war. I want you to help.
...what...
Yeah, we could use people with a knack for magic like you. You could use that magic of yours to lift boulders, or wood, or any other heavy objects.
...I think I'll pass...
You will help me? Thank you!
Screw you. Is that clear enough for you?
...
Hey--
LORD ROY! IT'S A TRAP! I OBJECT, LORD ROY!
...what in the world are you doing?
Why, practicing, young fellow! Hey, why don't you help me with my vocal exercises? It's easy, you just have to pretend you're Lord Roy trying to lead the army, and I'll--
Leave me alone, crazy old fool!
C'mon, somebody has to know something... somebody who isn't a complete idiot!
...I'm sorry, may I help you? I couldn't help but notice your discombobulation... is there something I can do?
What, you? Axe guys never have a brain, that's why they can only use such a lowly, filthy, mindless sort of weapon. I've had my fair share of idiots today, I don't need anymore.
I was just...
Shoo! Go away! Can't you understand such simple commands? Must I also teach you how to leave? Fine, then: just use your damn legs and go back the way you came!
...uh...
Urrrrrghhhhh! I've no time for this nonsense!
I... and he's off... what did I ever do to him?
Part 26 - Plot-heavy Pandemonium.
On 6/3/2018 at 2:27 PM, Dayni said:Well now, Wrys letting Raigh know what's up. Course, it's not going to stop him.
Maybe not.
Erk was more on edge.
I mean, after Serra in general and Priscilla's situation with Laus, it's understandable.
It's not come to fruition yet. I'm going to wait.
Hmph...
He could end up in the mines.
I don't think Echidna would pull an Orlo and employ forced labour. Then again, maybe she'd make an exception for our "beloved" Bishop Saul Frollo.
Enemy Phase.
While it's easy to take one out on player phase, the point is that I'd be concerned that they won't be able to take the damage.
Ein can't double anyone. Literally Raigh and Lilina would be the only ones who could get killed, and only if you don't promote them prior to fighting Ein.
Some of the snow still hasn't melted.
Jeez! Then again, I deduced through my great intelligence that you're scottish. Scotland's a little closer to the north pole than Spain.
Well, that's a shame. Does Geese ever do well?
Considering my Geese is, sadly enough, very average...
I'd take old Geitz over you-
Whoops.
Hahahah. Yeah. 11 speed's bad, but Druids are slowpokes as well.
He's not Oujay, so I don't know what to think.
Just a display of a rare lack of luck. Raigh'll be good. Surely...
Spectacular level.
Spectacluar edit.
Well, thanks. I've been trying to make an arrow death edit for every Archer boss kill since the beginning. Finally, I got around to making it.
Merlinus locked Delphin up in his wagon. Why do you think next to nobody has plot?
Pfffft... if this was Shadow Dragon / New Mystery's titanic wagon of 200 spaces, maybe, but I always fill up the GBA wagons and end up having to use the benchies as storage units.
That is indeed. Maybe he's saying that it's been a while.
Eh, fair enough.
So why is this only news to boi now?
Because Lycia is no longer relevant to the plot. Maybe it became playable at some alternate universe, and Merlinus just stuffed the whole country in his wagon?
Surprisingly, Marcus agrees.
He did.
I now have additional questions.
What questions? He just explained everything we know to Marcus. Would you rather I repeated the plot one more time?
Off to Missur next time. Who even lives there?
A bunch of people in houses scattered all over the place, and one lone village. I don't get it either.

Okay, okay, okay... chill out, man. If I ever play FE7, she'll die, but... uh... not too much?
Heheheh... sorry...

Bwahahah... poor guys. But that still counts as counting them as people... right?
Yeah, more or less.
Yup, that's the same level Lyn got a couple of days ago in Dayni's LP.
Oh, dear, the subtlety... where is it? I can't find it!
:/
:D
My reaction as well. Which is why I decided to troll you and put filler plot in the middle of it.
See my reaction to Geese's level earlier.
Urk... daresay, his was better than Raigh's. But nonetheless! Raigh shall still be great. Unlike Geese.
Tbh I still think Oro was stupider.
Yes, but Oro no longer exists. Now he's Orlo, and he's the best villain, so shut up.
WAScounter: 18.
That's... a lot of shots that were, at the time, worth shooting.
ATAODcounter: 3... maybe 4 I think? It's hard keeping track of so many counters.
Of course, I should've known you'd do it.
SpoilerQuite honestly, they played us like a fiddle there. To quote Roy:
At least Cecilia is quick on the draw. Good job, Cecilia, but I fear it might not be enough.
Yeah... that didn't go so well. Also, look, the king! He looks so pitiful. It's hilarious.
That's... a long way from Etruria. Whoa.
Yeah! Let's hope we arrive in time to save Cecilia. And the revolutionaries. But first, Cecilia.
No, not Cecilia! Perceval, don't you dare touch Cecilia, or I shall be forced to ERADICATE you! Forum hate be damned!
Just kiddin', I'm not going to kill Percy. I want that Knight's Crest.
...although, now that I think about it... do I? Who else is there that needs a Knight's Crest? I was initially going to use a Knight, but as you know, that didn't end well, and all the Cavvies are dead as well...
Eh, either way, it's cash.
So, today's trading shenanigans. Roy takes all of our cash to sell it in this chapter's shops, the troops load up on weaponery (notice Lot picking up the Armads. According to some fanfiction, that'll end really bad for him. Pfhah. We'll see about that...), and even though he isn't coming today, Astolfo picks up a torch, just in case I forget before next chapter.
Remember how last time I remembered I never showed Durandal? Well, here it is. Echidna could really use it. It doesn't even weigh her down as her starting inventory, because in all these 20 years, it apparently went to the gym a lot and lost a lot of weight.
Today's army. We had just barely enough space for all the troops. Frankly, I'd very much like it if it stayed that way. I really don't want to lose anybody else. Going for so long without losing anyone's not a good thing, in a way, since I've grown attacked to this group.
Oh, well, if I lose anyone I really like, I can always write them into the crappy fanfic, and thus they'll technically survive.
Man, now I'm really glad I'm putting an effort into making that.
Before we leave camp, let's check out this thing here. It appeared at the same time as Delphin.
It's just the ranks. Let's check 'em out while we're here.
Wohohohoooooh! Fancy! The contrast went up by at least 10 points!
No, seriously!
Here, this is the image with the contrast increased by, admittedly, not 10 but 50 points.
They just increased the contrast and called it a day! C'mon, guys! You thought I wouldn't nitpick this extremely minor detail just because you put so much effort into making such great animations and sprites? Think again!
Also, turns out I don't suck so much, according to Little Shit here! Hahahahah! What do you have to say now?!
Uh... oh, shut up, me! Let me win for once!
At least the game recognises Lot for the tremendous powerhouse that he is. And Treck. And Wade.
Truthfully, I wasn't expecting to have so many good units. I'm quite happy with my team, after all.
Ah, chapter 13. This chapter is pretty good.
Remember how the narrator kept talking about "the loyalists"? Yeah, this is all that's left of them. A lone Valkyrie. Need I say who she is?
A.K.A. Cecilia. Just Cecilia. I love this chick.
She does have aircalibur and a gate, and they're all Wyverns. It's obvious they stand no chance.
Yes, and yet again, she's making you look like a pansy. Not that you need much help with that.
And suddenly, the king! Man, I love this guy's theme, even though Hardin's is still better in my eyes (or ears, in this case). I just wish it was a tiny bit longer, though. That one minute of badassery leaves you wanting more! More! Moooore!
Literally, he just walked overthere right now. It's rather silly when you put it like that.
Hey, at least someone acknowledges it's just her.
That's bullshit, Narcian, and you know it.
Oh, crap.
...there is no knee? What do you mean, there is no knee?
(I actually noticed this, but it made me giggle like a stupid child, and I decided to leave it in as a joke. Am I a genial comedian or what?)
I like to imagine Narcian grabs Zephiel and carries him through the 200~ meters that separate them and Cecilia.
Look, it's us!
And for once, we kept it brief! No """""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""witty""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""" retorts from Merlinus, no exposition from Delphin, no nothing. We just went straight to the point. I mean, Cecilia's in peril. It's only normal we'd get serious, for once.
Here's the map. Jeez, it's so big, Imgur tried to compress it! But to no avail. Anyhow, let's analyze the situation. We got a village to the north, a village to the south of Cecilia, who in turn is to our east. Few Wyverns, ballistas, and cavalry. Seems straightforward enough.
So, let's check out Cecilia's chances!
Jeez, her bases are even worse the more I look at them! My headcannon is that Cecilia is a badass, but this battle cost her dearly. And before you say "DUUUH BUT SHE HAD THESE STATS BEFORE FIGHTING ZEPHIEL", keep in mind she supposedly has been fighting these guys off for a while, seeing how Narcian was oh so shocked that she still wasn't dead.
I like to think exhaustion, the loss of all of her off-screen loyalists, and the wounds she most likely sustained throughout the whole process left her in this... pathetic state.
Here are Flaer and Narcian. Flaer's, surprisingly enough, stronger than Narcian, but everywhere else he's far worse. Guess that fits their boss/subordinate relationship.
This time, Flaer does have a ranged weapon. Guess what that means?
And as if Cecilia needed more things to worry about, Zephiel's here. Zephiel's... not that good, actually. He just barely doubles Cecilia, but Narcian actually beats him in a few key areas (namely, speed). Narcian. Just you wait 'til we get to Murdock.
There's one more named person hanging around in this little party.
He's the equivalent of that one guy who really isn't having fun, and just stands around in a quiet-ish corner, waiting for the first chance to flee. I can relate.
Perceval doesn't get Hard mode bonuses in this chapter. You could think "hey, that makes his ridiculous bonuses balanced, doesn't it?! You have to pick between stats and availability!". Well, no. This choice is a real no-brainer, given that the next chapter is a desert chapter.
Still, Perceval doesn't annoy me as much as you-know-who.
That's enough of NPCs. Let's take a look at the inmediate threats. First, this guy. He may look like just a run-of-the-mill Archer, but...
Yeah. The ballista sprites are just the same for unpromoted and promoted Archers. Gotta keep your eyes peeled for this sort of stuff.
Oh, and just FYI, the southern ballistician is just an Archer. It probably makes plenty of sense in somebody's mind.
Let us advance! Hang on, Cecilia, we're coming to rescue you! Everyone except the axe siblings and Echidna. They'll head north.
Shit.
Well... do your best, Cecilia!
Heh. Yeah, no. Zephiel does not have a flying dragon under his ass.
Also, yes, I did take a flashbang shot here. I'm that bad at this.
I wanted to show this battle in all its glory, though, so I hastily rewinded.
So, here's my problem with this scripted battle. As you can see, Zephiel just barely doesn't kill Cecilia, leaving her at 1 HP. That makes perfect sense for the plot, since Cecilia doesn't actually die here, but is instead gravely wounded and passes out. So far, so good. Where could the problem possibly be?
Zephiel crits.
I mean, I like it, it means we get to see Zephiel's absolutely amazing animations in all their glory, but plot-wise, it wasn't a very good choice by whoever programmed this battle.
Although, this does mean Cecilia is so amazing, she survives dying almost three times over.
And there she goes. Don't sweat it, Cecilia, you did well. Don't let Gamefaqs convince you otherwise.
She singlehandedly fought your troops and was winning until you intervened. Think about it, Zephiel. She forced you, the king, to use your amazingly legendary sword of myth and tale to finally bring her down. I think she delivered a hefty enough challenge.
Oh, no.
Don't you dare, you fucking scumbag... I'll go into the game and tear you apart! Real!me, not plot!me! It makes sense in my mind, okay?
Screw you, Narcian. When do I get to kill you?
Oh, dear, Zephiel took the gate.
Eh. Pretty sure Lot could take him on. Like Ein, he has the crippling flaw of not being able to double anybody.
Actual combat! Well done, Saul. Hate to admit it, but you're doing excellently. Keep it up. Uh, the combat performance, not... everything else.
Hey, I'm sure y'all were looking forward to even more plot. Well, there you go. Now you have it.
I take it you were going to try to convince Cecilia to mindlessly fight by the side of a misanthrope to ensure the inmediate safety of one guy, then? Tsk, tsk. Bad Perceval.
How convenient that he walked all the way to Etruria for pretty much no reason at all in order to be able to whack Cecilia by himself, leading to Perceval starting to doubt them.
It... doesn't make too much else, honestly.
See, you can tell he's doubtfull because his dialogue concluded with dots in a quick succession.
Other than that, we get a hint hint here, that being the fact that we aren't really going to fight Perceval today, unless we rush it, and why would we do that unless we wanted to recruit him right now? It's even harder to get the Knight's Crest if you recruit him in this chapter, since his forces are surrounded by Bernians.
Whoa, that was quick. I guess Merlinus was just sitting on top of his wagon and saw the lightning coming out of Zephiel's sword and went "welp, she's screwed".
Why would there be a report of her death? She "died" five minutes ago! You shouldn't even know about it yet!
You see, of course, we all have played FE6, we know exactly what's going on, but I imagine at the time, it must've felt like this was going to be another Hector situation. Except not, because Cecilia > Hector. Bite me if you will.
Honestly, bows are so great for axemen in this game. It gives these two a real edge in comparison to Gonzo. Sure, he's better stat-wise (better than Wade, that is), but he can't hit worth a damn.
Oh, please, did that really just happen? Echidna, you're supposed to be good at dodging! The iron axe only brings your speed down by 1 point, and you've two C supports by now! You have no excuses!
Well, you do, the RNG, but whatever.
At least she managed to hit. That'll be her first level up.
Echidna, you do know Lot beats you in every single aspect except for skill, right? And you do know that he doesn't need skill because he's got bows and a support partner, right?
Bah. Here, have a heal. I don't want to lose you yet.
It's been a while since I had space to deploy Sue. Honestly, at this point, I'm really just using her for Sacae. She's so bad...
What, bench her for her brother? Nonsense. It's already going to be hard enough to get Tate exactly five levels ahead of Sue in order to be able to easily choose at the end of chapter 16x, if I train Sin after giving Sue so many levels, I might as well wave Ilia goodbye for good.
I don't want to let the Sniper take potshots at us with his ballista just yet, so let's hang back a little and calmly deal with the incoming enemies
The northern team forms a triangular formation in order to build up their supports. Echidna x Wade / Lot builds up slowly, but at least it's only going to be one more before I can finally stop sticking them together.
More plot! This chapter is exceedingly heavy on the text side of things.
Ah, there she is. Now, Guinivere! BOLGANONE!!
Oh, right, Bolganone doesn't exist in this game, and Forblaze is still lost somewhere in Arcadia, because Athos definitely didn't take it with him on a stroll to some island and died there.
And Rutger.
Zephiel sure likes to repeat these words. Please, Franp, I can see you coming from a
milekilometer away, don't make a Zephiel Gives His "Humans Are Assholes" Speech counter."I tell you this, because despite the fact that you, the sister of myself, king of Bern, the strongest country in the continent of Elibe that currently (the year 1000 of our calendar) exists, already know it, because there might be somebody somewhere around here who doesn't and I want everyone to know they're shitheads and they all deserve to die".
"A few worthless lives"? You whole plan's objective is the absolute, irrevocable extinction of humanity! What do you mean, "a few"?!
This doesn't work! You want to kill everyone, including yourself! You can't expect her to take your sparing of her life seriously when she knows that, if your plan comes to fruition, she's going to die regardless!
Then again, she inmediately flees again without hesitating as soon as Zephiel looks the other way, so at least the writers understood this as well.
Before you ask, no, unless I've missed something, Minerva is not actually on the map.
Let's take a moment to appreciate Zephiel trusting such an extremely vital task that involves going back to Bern (something Zephiel himself's going to be doing soon enough) to Narcian. He could've taken her with him to Bern and done all of this by himself, but instead, he decided to make the worst General ever do it in his steed.
God damnit, Zephiel, stop giving me so many reasons to nitpick you!
Both Zephiel and Narcian head into the castle. We don't have a boss now.
Are they serious?!
Doggone it. Dodge, anyone?
Eh, at least the ones who truly needed to dodge pulled it off.
Maybe the others are just toying around with their enemies and their futile attempts at bringing them down.
Minerva!
Why is she here, though? Last time we saw her, she was with Galle, trying to find Guini in the Western Isles.
...what's going on now?
Ah, I see, she just pulled a sword out of her ass. Even though she's a Sage and would probably accomplish more with Cecilia's aircalibur tome, which is likely still lying aroud somewhere.
I'm stopping before somebody decides to make a Ruben's Unfunny "Deaf Characters" Joke counter.
...although, that makes me realise, we've got enough counters to make a Counter counter. Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooo...
Oh, my, you would do exactly the same you did last time you ran off?! I'm so shocked!! Not as much as Minerva here, though.
Ah, the dots. She's turning blue.
I'm wondering, as she politely asks Minerva to let her go, is she still holding that sword of hers?
Well, that's... actually a rather good point. I mean, she obviously didn't leave without telling absolutely anyone, since she had Elen with her (remember? Elen's supposed to be Guinivere's lady-in-waiting, and a good friend. I know, it's easy to forget that since Elen is relevant to the plot for exactly 3 scenes), and Minerva's most likely just as loyal to her as Elen, not to mention she would be able to protect her better than Elen's healery self.
Oh, they actually explain it rather sensibly? How interesting. Although, it honestly would've been better to discuss things before leaving. Even if Guinivere refused to bring Minerva along with her, at least Minerva would've known what was going on, and wouldn't have had to go on a wild goose chase to find her.
Also, Minerva's got at least a little grey matter inside her skull, and understands Guinivere is the most decent person in Bern.
Either that or she's gay.
Or both.
Hey, I haven't got a problem with it if that's what's happening here. I'm just laying all the cards on the table.
Of course, considering that possibility opens up so many doors, so many chances for twisting Minerva's words. Hahahah... "if you tell me to let you go, then with pleasure, I will"... hahah... ironically, that one would work better if she was not gay. But, eh, can't have it all, I guess.
And so, they embrace tightly and leave on Minerva's Wyvern whatsitsname. Basically, it's like Drakengard, except they're both girls and neither of them is dead.
Whoever gets the reference will have earned my respect, as well as an imaginary cookie.
Friendly reminder that this gives Minerva Hard mode bonuses.
Gosh darn, Merlinus. "It may be a trick..." sounds different than "it's a trap!", but you cannot deceive me. That's exactly what you said.
Yeah, chill out, Merlinus. I mean, Dorothy's right there. Even if she were to try to stab Roy, she'd fall very quickly.
Mission failed, we'll get 'em next time.
"You're Roy, too? Small world."
Heh. Ass-istance. Hheeehhehhe. Okay, I'll stop before I get banned.
Charmed, Minerva.
Now those are good news, and not all this dramatic nonsense.
Very well, let's go to the castle. Chop chop! Double-time it!
That is indeed our current objective.
So... Minerva. Let's take a moment to look at Treck's stats.
Right now, he's a level 4 Paladin, promoted at level 19. So, in total, he's had 23 levels.
Minerva has the same strength, res and speed, better skill, better defense, and is only really worse in HP and luck. In other words, she's evenly matched with a unit that has 13 more levels than her, is promoted, and can't fly.
Call me mad, but I find Minerva to not be that much fun to use. In Hard mode, she's Easy mode, basically. You use her, she's guaranteed to be your best unit, and to destroy everything and, after you get her the delphi shield, to never, ever die. If you have her, you don't need anyone else. How boring is that?
Still, I'm feeling tempted to use her, if only to get Treck a support partner who can keep up with him, and just so I can keep calling her Minerva 'til the end of times. We shall see.
Although, if I do that, I'd definitely have to promote her at base or something. As you can see, she really, really, really doesn't need any more levels. Hell, she'd be OP enough if I promoted her right now, due to FE6's beastly promotion bonuses.
I could also kill her to create controversy and increase my audience ratings. That's something that works in TV, why not here? People would come racing to hate me as the man who killed Rutger, Clarine and
Miladyin purpose. Maybe I could slaughter Perceval as well. And Niime! And fail to get all the legendary weapons!...or maybe this while I write is just getting to my head. I reached the 2 minute mark right when I realised I was sounding a little... bloodthirsty. How fitting.
Okay, moving on. Here's Minerva's flaw. Her starting weapon sucks.
I can't even.
Eh, one thing's for sure, she's nowhere nearly as good as--
Are you fuckin' shitting me!? they're fuckin' shitting me! Noone in the northern team has vulneraries, and Saul's magic sucks! I can't afford this nonsense!
At least Echidna and Lot are behaving properly.
Oh, please... I'm not risking that.
Oh, I just had a most delightful idea!
Scratch that.
Paladin time! Man, that was some perfect screenshooting. I wasn't even trying to pull that off.
Healingntrading.png
It sure is a good day when fliers can attack Archers at range without fearing death.
Still, Tate definitely fears the ballista and its Sniper, so let's get you out of the way, milady.
Minerva, get her out of the way. You as well, Sue.
And that's that. Are you ready for some more plot?
Augh...
Wait, but wasn't he supposed to ensure Guinivere and the Fire Emblem returned safely to Bern? You've got to admit, Zeph, Narcian might not be the brightest tool in the shed, but even Murdock would be at a loss if you wanted him to be in two places at once.
And Zephiel knows this because... Jahn?
And Jahn knows this because... guess we'll find out in chapter 24!
Whoa, Narcian actually being not-dumb? How positively incomprehensible.
Spoiler alert, it's a recolour. Yep. Zephiel sent a recolour of a particularly reviled boss to recover the renowned weapon of legend. Although, I suppose Zephiel had no way of knowing that. After all, the original boss wasn't a Bernian.
Hahahahahah, yeah, sure. You've no honour, blondie, you're a rapist, a pedo, and a snake.
Zephiel and Idoun leave the battlefield. That's a relief. Narcian takes the gate for the time being.
Oh, Lot didn't get hit critically? That just can't be! Please, kill Lot! I beg of you! I haven't had enough bad luck yet!
In case it's not obvious, game, that was sarcasm. If you kill Lot like that, I'm resetting, and it won't be dishonorable, it'll be perfectly justified.
Don't you just love how I remembered to make Treck equip his axe, but not Marcus?
Aaaaaaaaaargh! Marcus!
Marc-- oh, never mind, that's Treck.
Honestly, though, that could've ended really badly had Marcus been in Treck's place. But he wasn't, so the Oifey gets to live another day.
The rest is just the Western Reapers not getting killed by anything, as usual.
What? It's a fitting name, you can't deny that.
Oh, come now, more plot?
Okay, it's Cecilia. You get a pass, game.
Oh, boy, look who it is.
In case you're wondering (and if you're not, just because I want to have things to talk about), the rag's purple because I wanted to make it seem like Sophia ripped off a piece of her robe to fix Cecilia up. I mean, she's no cleric, and I doubt they'd let her keep a vulnerary in her cell, how else could she have done it?
Cecilia's a decent, strong and smart person, so she inmediately tries to help again after waking up from dying almost three times over.
It doesn't go as planned.
What light? Light Yagami? I'm afraid the closest thing to him died back in chapter 7, by my hand, it was fun so... what light?
Go home, Sophia. You're drun--
Oh, right. You can't go home.
I suppose you really can't do much more than that.
And with that, they proceed to... patiently sit in silence staring at the walls while waiting for Roy to be done with the battle.
No, seriously. Is there a good reason why you couldn't just tell her with you wait for this "light" of yours to arrive? Or did you also foresee that telling her about Arcadia will trigger a Final Destination-ish chain reaction that'd result in Igrene's death?
Oh, no, not Igrene, please. Refrain from talking, you two.
I made Lot use his hand axe in an attempt to be able to retaliate to melee attackers. It didn't go so well, but Wade's great strength saved the day.
Unorthodox strategies time!
Two ballistas is a bit too much, so before we start advancing, why don't we just disable one of them?
There we go. I'm happy with that move. And hey, it's not like I ever use my status staves for anything. In most of my runs, they just end up gathering dust in the bottom of the convoy. I want that to change.
Saul gets skill. Again. Is he mocking me or what?
Sigh... I can at least count on you, Dorothy.
Oh, son of a--
Fine, then. Stab Treck! Stab him to your heart's content! For all the good it'll do you!
Son of a-- I wasn't being serious!
Look, just die already, will ya?
Oh, man. May we move on to Lot and co. now? They're the only ones who make me happy. Er, for vastly different reasons when it comes to Echidna, but uh...
Look, a distraction! Marcus healing!
Oh, Sue.
Oh, Sue, Lilina does a better job than you. That's so sad.
Why, of course she didn't dodge. Why would she?
Before you ask, no, that Cavalier within Treck's range doesn't have a horseslayer.
I find it quite hilarious how an army of 12 people achieved the same as three people in the same amount of time. Granted, Lot, Wade and Echidna have more space for maneuvering, but still.
What have I done to deserve this?
No, seriously...
This doesn't make me feel any better.
Oh, boy, Wyverns. I can't kill them, either.
Yeah, I can't let these guys run amok.
So here's the plan: the competent people will stand on the bridge and face the Wyverns.
Meanwhile, the weaklings will retreat and escape the Wyverns' range.
This time, Treck does hit his enemy.
Can't say the same for anybody else, though. Annoying healers...
Well, that's it. Tate might as well lure someone off the A team and Gonzo's backs.
The northern team doesn't do much more than provide us with some very cute sprites. Look!
Echidna and Wade perform coop backwards rope jumping! If you use your imagination, that's what it looks like. Man, I never could rope jump backwards. Whenever those foolish teachers tried to make me do it with somebody else on top of everything, I just didn't bother.
Of course, I can't fly like Echinda, so I guess that gives her an unfair advantage.
While those two goof around, Lot goes to take care of more important tasks.
The game's body ring! I think the best candidates right now would be Echidna, Tate and Raigh. Tell me what you think.
Also, what do you mean, "it might make the ladies a little less attractive"? You said it's supposed to build up the user's muscles. How's that "making the ladies a little less attractive"?
Is this guy implying girls can only be attractive if they're damisels in distress?! MYSOGINIST! HE'S A CIS WHITE MALE! KILL HIM! KILL HIM WITH ACIIIIID!!
Now seriously, it would've been quite ironic if Echidna was the one to talk to this guy, but alas, she's too busy having fun with Wade.
Things go about as well as they could have.
Why, you little... this is all your fault, Dorothy! She could be dead had you not missed that arrow!
Oh, well, better late than never.
Oh, such foul luck...
Raigh helps Sue get a kill, because she couldn't kill a flier with bows by herself, despite doubling him. Good God...
But, you know what, she's still not as utterly pathetic as Geese.
You may have the kill, Gonzo.
And a whiff of Treck's later, we're done.
The axe siblings and who's hopefully going to be our new sword user slaughter this helpless girl for fun and profit.
Well... they no longer have anything to do. It won't stay that way for long, however.
This is the extent of the enemy phase's action.
The following turn, Saul chips down the Sniper.
Marcus heals. This time, however, it's actually interesting and important.
That's because Marcus just triggered some more plot.
Not really, you just left Ein to get killed by us. Seriously, Flaer, what were you thinking? Anyone with a javelin would've been more dangerous.
Of course, everything always got to be about you, eh, Narcian?
Oh, don't lose your head over that. Nobody doubts your ability. That is, your lack thereof.
Narcian, being the asshole he is, decides that instead of helping Flaer destroy us, it's best to leave him alone without any hope of him being able to accomplish anything.
You are aware that's not how this works, right, Narcian?
...well, that's not how it would work if this wasn't an Ironman run. As it is... you may have a point, but I stand by my point that you'd do better to attack us now that you can still haven't sit on a throne, forfeiting your ability to move.
Yes, that is exactly what he intends.
My, how generous of you. But that's not right. Nah, I think you're just scared of us.
Oooff... yeah, poor guy gets doubled by the blond doofus. He's screwed.
Oh my God, the random french... so pretentious...!
Sorry, Flaer. You just had the worst luck when it came to your boss. I'd spare you if I could, but alas...
Okay, with the plot behind us, let's stay focused.
I can't... what did I ever do to you?
Oh, well, these three still have some free time, so might as well get myself some more lines of text to nitpick.
Brunya is a far better mage than Cecilia, statwise, Murdock is better than Perceval and Douglas combined, Narcian exists. Sorry to burst your bubble, kid, but that's life.
That sure looks empty... wait for the game to fix that in 3, 2, 1...
...uhhh... well, not yet, it seems.
Eliminean action! Look at Dorothy's ballista sprite. We're probably never going to see it again.
Sue, ladies and gentlemen. A guy with a javelin who doesn't double does more damage than her.
Here comes the plane, Sue. Rrrrrr... open your mouth... good job, girl! You took that spoon full of EXP! I'm so proud of you!
Okay, the countdown from 30 is about to come to an end. 3, 2--
Of course. Damn it all...
You might not have noticed, but I placed Echidna and Wade in forest tiles. That should help them come out of this victorious.
Even more plot?!
He "killed" your colleague. Insult is a bit of an understatement, this is outright treason.
This new course of action will involve still helping Bern, because "MUH KING". Thanks, Doug.
Buh-bye, Percy. We'll be seeing more of you.
Nothing much happens this turn. The southern team is just moving forward as quickly as we can, while the northern team is waiting for the enemies to come at them.
Can you find the blunder?
Shit! Tate!
But of course she would get hit! I've had the worst luck all update, why would she dodge having a <70% chance of doing so?! It's not as if the odds were in her favour, am I right?! They just had to ruin my good streak, didn't they?!?! And with Tate, of all people!
Oh, God... if she dies, I'll be forced to use Shanna, somehow... and I won't get to show off Ilia's gaiden no matter what... nooooooOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHH!!!
Well, I ain't facing that today, so I think I'll just use this chance to finally put this meme to good use...
(Yes, I do remember what that damned song is. Let's see how long it takes me to forget again)
Next time, Tate will die because I can't have nice things. See you then.
Fuck.
To be continued.

Well, that's not what I played FE for. I even started with this game.
Likewise. For both statements.

Yeah... toooootally...

If so, he failed miserably.

Friendly reminder that this guy is called Glass. Glass.
People tend to obsess over the PEERLESS SKILLZ meme, while failing to appreciate the fact that his name is FUCKING GLASS.

Father Teresa is an awesome name. Also, fun fact: this guy is a younger version of Oates, a random boss from FE6. Don't believe me?
Here's Oates' portrait, courtesy of the wiki. He obviously grew older in the 20 years between FE6 and 7 (as well as a beard), but the hair's the same, the clothing style's similar, they're both blind and skilled with magic, as revealed later.

11 hours ago, Dayni said:So, that's also pretty neat. Maybe he'll tank like Lowen after all. Speed is also a good stat to get more of.
He also still has 6 defense.
11 hours ago, Dayni said:"Alright, Kent, Sain, take what's left."
I imagine if Kent and Sain (and Pent) were added to FEHeroes, it'd be quite hilarious.
"To beat this map, I sent Sain to help Kent kill Cain, and then sent Kent to help Sain slay Pent".
Now try saying that 5 times fast.
11 hours ago, Dayni said:So wait, I thought it was protected by spirits. Do you mean that Glass could have taken it for his own if it weren't? Is Fr. Brimley the real hero
He got played hard. So hard, he shattered.
11 hours ago, Dayni said:Are we sure Lyn's not Harry Potter?
Hmmm...
Yes, I can definitely see it.
11 hours ago, Dayni said:"And not my liquer cabinet. Hush robed twit."
"...Oh."
Whoa, bipolar much, Father? Or maybe... maybe he knows Hatchet! And Hatchet knows about the liquor* cabinet! Plottwist! You need to make the priest a character in your own crappy fanfic.
11 hours ago, Dayni said:So, super-special sword in hand, Lyn just walks off with the main attraction.
That shrine's going to be in serious decline now.
So that's why Oates joined the Bernian army... he lost his job after Lyn took the Mani Katti, and desperate for money, he joined the Bernian army, using his peerless magical skills to climb ranks until in FE6 he was a trusted commander, enough to be sent to retrieve the Forblaze that Athos totally didn't take with him when he died.
11 hours ago, Dayni said:Well BS, you've made the case why Durandal will be Eliwood only. I am disappointed.
Yeah, it's not like literally anyone with an S rank in swords could use it, amirite? Sigh...
11 hours ago, Dayni said:We're introduced to out villain being shocked at something. Perhaps because his chin surgery didn't make it point out enough?
This line is where I got the idea to pointlessly extend Vernon Lundgren's chin, by the way. That, and Dursley's many chins had to be hidden somehow.
11 hours ago, Dayni said:Well, he's got Fraticide, Regicide and just being a shady dick all wrapped up in one package.
Totally trustworthy to lead a canton.
Don't forget murdering all of his dates. Both his nose and his chin are so pointy and protruding, he probably killed them all trying to kiss them.
11 hours ago, Dayni said:Like this?
Hm, nah, Lundgren's head is far from being round.
11 hours ago, Dayni said:Oh, you do that thing professionals do of keeping multiple savefiles, too.
I don't.
I probably should.
11 hours ago, Dayni said:With luck I will never see it again.
Not in this game or thread, no.

You there! The old guy!
My, that's a rather rude thing to say.
I've questions for you.
Straight to the point, eh? Very well.
How long--
I'll listen to you after you say "please".
Hmph... I've questions for you.
Please.
Much better. Now, go on.
...how long have you been under Roy's orders?
I met him a few months before all this started.
Then you must know of the first tactician of the Lycian Army. A man named Ruben, apparently.
...
Do you know his whereabouts?
Well, I'm... not sure. Why do you wish to know?
My brother is dead, and it's his fault. I must find him.
...
There's no sense in hiding it, old man. I've been snooping around. I know he's your friend. You know where he is.
...I don't know what you're talking about. But I know this: if you're already seeking revenge at this age... you won't make it to adulthood.
Who are you to judge me!? Your friend murdered my brother, and so many others, yet you would defend him?!
You got it wrong! Bandits killed your brother--
--Because your friend didn't care about his soldiers' lives. He's just as responsible for it as the brigands were!
...let it go, kid... this will do you no good.
Very well, then. If you won't help me, I'll just have to find him on my own. And then...
Don't do this, kid! Think about your brother! Would he have agreed with this senseless bloodthirst of yours?!
...
I know why he joined us. I know what sent him to his death, and it wasn't Ruben. It was his desire to avenge those killed by the war. He wanted revenge, but all he got was an untimely death. And you're following him, straight to the grave! Is that truly what you want? Do you truly think that's what he would've wanted for you?
...shut up. Shut up! I'm not listening to you anymore. I'm leaving!
Hold on!
...oh, dear... this is bad news. I must speak to Ruben...

Way to digress. Hah!
Ooh, ok then. That's sounds promising. My bet is 16 turns then.
Why, you-- I need her at least to get the second Guiding Ring! I'm not letting her die! Not before that...
On 1/3/2018 at 6:04 PM, Dayni said:It hurts because ideally that's 100% of what I'd be using in BB.
You sure do like axes, eh? Hey, at least it's not as much of a lost cause as my liking for dark magic.
Neither did I! What's wrong with him?
He's an idiot, that's what.
The hint about Eclipse's best use.
Ah. I see.
I could go into how Frollo and Cornello are different from each other in how they treat those below them. Cornello was quite willing to live and let live with people if they toed the line. Frollo was willing to burn the city if need be, Cornello only started fighting when someone from Central started snooping.
I mean, Cornello could have been attempting to make people in his congregation swoon for him, we don't get that much time to tell.
Well, I don't know anything about Cornello, so I'm at a clear disadvantage here...
I don't need to.
I still think her, Lugh, Dieck, Lance and all the others would rather not be dead, but still.
Lance isn't dead, c'mon. His eye may be, but uh... not too bad?
Also, according to the plot, all deaths in chapter 7 are "Humphrey"'s fault.
No.
Bah.
It's the same song from the last one he tried to reference. That's all I'll give, see if you can get it.
Oh, right. The one I know, but can never remember.
What, a 5 year old girl?
Ergh...
Oh, oh no.
Yeah...
Look, Raigh's trying to be edgy. He thinks he's his dad!
Erk wasn't edgy, he was just... tired. And knowing Serra, understandably so.
Oh... of course, his other dad.
WELL THAT'S NEVER GOING TO COME BACK. TOTALLY NEVER GOING TO SEE THIS COME TO FRUITION.
You were right, clearly.
Raigh: certainly the best offensively. Niime's a powerful staffer and Sophia is alright when trained (especially tanking magic), but Raigh has enough base to work with and his growths add up.
Now watch as his death triggers the end of the LP by ragequit.
No comment. RPGs have been pretty willing to kill/torture kids.
That's right. See? I'm not so bad. Heheh... heh...
The two to the left are just teenagers. Moneyman is moneyman, he always looks like that regardless of nation.
I think Echidna's right.
Of course you wouldn't agree with me. Hmph...
Ah Echidna, looking to rope everyone in.
Quick, get Saul!
Nonononono, we don't want Saul to get nowhere near Echidna! Either she'll rip him apart, and then I lose my best magician, or he's convinced and then the village becomes hell on earth. Nothing good can come out of that.
That or too idealistic politician.
I suppose that's a valid alternative.
Holy moly, Roy's really growing strongly!
Hopefully he'll be viable.
Hate to rain on your parade, but...
Not really? One person on their own tends to move faster than a larger group in this time.
I was referencing Frost's backstory, but of course, why would you remember that? Frost is, after all, the most forgettable Archanean character.
Meh, she can dodge. Is she better than Chad? Congrats, you have a backup thief.
She is, but by a very slight margin.
THAT FACE.The disapproval is strong.
I mean, it ended well, but that was the biggest fuck-up I've made in a while.
After not killing the last guy? You could have tried. Even if one of the Jeigans was the only choice.
At this point, I just wanted to get outta there before I pressed the end button by mistake or something.
Hell, maybe Cath could have got exp. :P
Also, that simply cannot be.
To be fair, this is the only one that doesn't move any time soon.
Any of them would be concerning on EP.
...Extended Play? I mean, I get what you're trying to say, but what does EP stand for here?
Leaving that aside, even if he could move, Ein would still be very easy. There are no enemies in his area until the reinforcements, and those start spawning very late into the chapter, so one would just have lure him to the hole in the wall, plug it with a strong unit, and then destroy him with magic.
Hell, it would be even easier to defeat him then, since no throne means he'd take far less time. Two turns, at most!
OHO.
Who are these two? I doubt it's Murdock and it's certainly not Arcardo, so what's this element now?
Yeah, no, uh, that's... that's definitely not Murdock, yeah. No spoilers there.
Either way, it's one that we'll have to wait on.
Yes.
I'm going to get in on this: 3 turns. Also, Rubenio, don't make promises next to nobody can keep.
Why, you... again, I need that Guiding Ring! 3 turns is not enough to get the Guiding Ring! Stop jinxing it, everyone!
So we're off to get Armads. A weapon Hector loves so much that he's never been seen without it in art, either before or especially in Heroes. Hell, he takes it to a tournament in at least one timeline. Which everyone was rightfully concerned about.
Much unlike Durandal, which is Eliwood's weapon, despite the fact that Hector lives next door to it, more or less.
Also meanwhile, outside is like this. Hopefully I don't die.
Ah, yeah, the weather was quite messy for a few days there. It was so bad, it snowed in my village.
It never snows in my village, that's why it's so impressive.
On 3/3/2018 at 3:25 AM, Franp3 said:If you listened to it, you'd recognise it in a second, It's that well known.
Yeah, we've been there, I'm just dumb.
I use "shamen" most of the time. No idea wether or not it's correct.
It isn't, apparently, but who cares.
The eyes, noses and hair color seem similar enough.
Okay, okay, I get it, no need for everyone to call me out on that.
Not to mention a competent player has already completed the chapter by the time they show up.
Which means I'm a competent player! Eh? Eh?
Please let it be plan B, Please let it be plan B...
Fuck.
Sorry, but I'd rather we didn't surpass the last LP's death count.
Now I hope Astore and Chad die so you have to use her.
What?! Why would you be so cruel!?
Thank Ayatollah that she isn't part of Roy's harem.
They were somewhat merciful.
Final score for the GTTMELIWHRI counter: 4.
My bad.
ACTUAL Final score for the GTTMELIWHRI counter: 9.
Rolls right off the tongue. Also, I find the fact that the game tried to convince us of Ein's power more times than Merlinus died positively depressing. I shall remedy that...
SpoilerLast time, we beat a dragon and it was extremely easy.
May I remind you Delphin said, when questioned about it, "no [bandits], thankfully"?
Yeah. Would've been a really boring chapter without enemies to hit over the head, wouldn't it?
Trading. Yeah, I'm giving Raigh the angelic robe, because 23 HP is just pathetic and I don't trust myself to keep him alive.
Other than that, we're only bringing our scrubs, Lalum because she'll probably be useful, and Saul and Dorothy for Jeiganing and healing purposesl. I'll need them for the boss.
A.K.A. the axe that dooms its wielder to a messy end at the battlefield, according to some unrelated Elibe spin-off.
Oh, look. This guy. Last time, I put Scott Shelby over him and I was probably the only one to laugh at that. This time, I'll do nothing.
I mean, the braindead face fits the braindead dialogue wonderfully.
They won't, because me beating chapter 12 quickly means they're no longer relevant to the plot, and have thus vanished from the face of the earth.
Not quite. You taking the treasure means we could bump into you at some point and take the treasure. But what am I saying, this guy probably can't think worth a damn.
Yeah, he is. Let him believe he is in these, his final minutes before encountering the final mystery.
Jeez, what's this, Banditcon 1020? They're all here!
Hey, for a guy as stupid as this, that's quite impressive that he'd figure us out so quickly.
Too bad his band poses the least threat we've faced in a while.
Here's Roy. This cave sure is boring. Everything looks the same! Or maybe Roy just decided to move all the way to the throne to have a chat with Delphin, moving all the way back to the entrance afterwards. But that's too silly, right?
Yes, Roy, that's exactly what he just said: Armads, axe of thunder.
Perhaps when he was the one to swing it around, but I doubt someone like Geese would do quite as well.
Hey, that's actually a rather good excuse. I'm proud of you, Little Shit.
Also, it's not too clear, but I elect to believe Roy's messing with Delphin again here.
Oh, so Delphin's a SJW. He considers noxious fumes to be people too.
I'm not sure how I feel about that.
What? That's like, the least of our problems here.
Okay! So, now, the map!
...map? Map?! Maaaaaaaaaaaaaaap!!
Yep, I forgot to screencap the map. Luckily enough, this map wouldn't have been of much help, because this is our second fog of war map! Still...
...hmm? What's that?... uhuh, I see...
Good news, everyone! My assistant just gave me the map! It's a slightly inaccurate version of it, but it'll have to do.
Veeeeeeeeeery slightly inaccurate version of it.
So, yeah. This is a very easy chapter, aside from the Druid, of whom we'll see more later, and the boss, who's of course sitting on a throne in a cave.
Begin! Geese Jeigans a guy for Tate. Steel axes suck so badly, even Geese can take on enemies carrying them!
Now, before I forget...
That's much better.
Dorothy just barely fails to kill this Archer. That's good, though. It means more experience for the scrubs.
Namely, Tate! Don't worry, she can take on the Bandit. She can't take an arrow, though, so...
There we go! First level of the chapter right ther, everoyne!
Speed's always good, especially when you don't have the con to lift your primary means of attacking.
Very well, that's it. Let's see how this banditman handles his troops.
Well, here's your answer: about as badly as he possibly could. Seriously, he did so many things wrong in just this one move, I don't even know where to start.
Here's one of this chapter's gimmickies: a bunch of useless stuff is going to be stolen and we can't do anything about that. It's a poor gimmicky, just like the other one.
Roy fighting!
It goes about as well as could be expected.
Heal up, useless Boi.
Jeiganing. Nice! Dorothy is really proving her mettle in this run.
Perfect frame to capture! The circle of flux.
By the way, yes, he did hit.
Worth a shot, as always.
Dancing, healing, flashbangs! All that's lacking here is some trading and we'd have the full package.
Hm, a Myrmidon, I see... we'd best tread lightly around him. Unlike the noxious fumes Delphin spoke of.
Which means Saul-- Saul! No! This is the one good deed you perform on a daily basis! You can't afford to botch it up!
Of course, taunt me as well. Piece of shit...
Aaaargh!
Gwoooh!
Sheeeesh!
C'mon, worth a shot, worth a shot...
Baaaaaaaaaaah! Worth a fucking shot!
Okay, then. You get the kill, Dorothy.
At least none of the scrubs were left inside death's range.
Although... might as well push my luck!
That wasn't a very bright idea. Not that he was in any danger of dying, but... yeah. Geese can't use hand axes.
Darkness engulfs the Brigand as he, in his final seconds, regrets all of his life choices.
Great! Great one, Raigh! Splendid!
Geese got a level! This is it! This is the level that shall turn the tide of Geese's battle for adequacy! Today, Geese--
Disappoints me again! Addle-pated lumps of anthracite! Dipsomaniac! Bath-tub Admiral! Certified diplodocuses! Jellied eel! Loathsome brute! Pestilential pachyderm! Ruffian! Squawking popinjay! Viper! Young monkey! Weevils! Vermicellis! Vandal! Tribe of Polynesians! Two-timing Troglodytes! Scorpion! Rotten sand-hoppers!
God! What's wrong with this guy? Why can't he be as good as Geitz? I refuse to believe this buffoon is Geitz's brother!
Then again, in most of my FE7 runs, Geitz didn't even exist because I like Wallace better, so... hmmm.
Well, screw that. Let's open this chest and marvel at its magnificent contents:
A useless piece of garbage.
I use Astolfo to scout the perimeter before moving forward. Seems there's only one guy around.
Argh!
Well, there better not be anybody else around. I mean, I know for a fact that nobody else can reach Raigh, but I'm still worried. Can you blame me? This is Fire Emblem.
Oki dokie. Let's keep moving.
Astolfo does his job again.
Let us advance with precaution.
You know, this whole "secure what we stole" thingy fails hard because Idiot's dedicated pilferers only steal back the crap, while leaving behind the gems. Because, yes, there are gems here, and they're in no danger of ever being stolen.
Dorothy Jeigans a Myrmidon. Look, an interesting frame! Damn, that bow's bigger than her head.
Oh, please. Well, add one to the counter, you know the one.
Okay, much better.
Anyone else here feelin' déjà vu?
Okay, that's it. This guy'll probably try to kill Geese.
...or not.
You know what? That's a whopping 2 WEXP for Saul, and we all know how much Bishops need WEXP in this game, not to mention he still gets a good amount of normal experience thanks to being a man of the cloth. I think we're better off this way.
More pilfering, but this time, we retaliate. Not too bad. This will come in handy.
You may have it, Roy.
Oh, shiet. We've got enemies on our tail!
As well as a Druid somewhere! Eclipse's sprite is amazing. Such a shame the tome itself is horrible.
Can't quite see the Druid yet, but we should soon enough.
Sheesh, cutting it a little closer than I'd like there.
We didn't accomplish much in that turn.
Plan time. Step one: save Lalum's sorry, 5-move ass.
Step 2: reveal the Druid. Exactly where the map told us he'd be!
We better kill him before he switches to nosferatu, although if I'm not mistaken, these people usually prefer to throw eclipse shots around.
Time for the final step of the plan: humiliate the Archer.
I'll take care of these guys soon, don't worry.
What?! No! That wasn't supposed to happen!
Well, that's been Geese. If you have something important to say to him, I suggest you say it now.
Oh. He lived. He wasn't even in any danger at all, since he couldn't get doubled.
I should probably give him more credit. He's bad, but... not Wendy.
I have no idea why this screencap exists. Maybe I was trying to show off the noxious fumes? If so, I failed miserably.
It's this sprite again, except this time, instead of a blurry mess of pixels, Dorothy is shooting a q-tip at the Druid. Also, he's dead. I didn't want him to die yet, but Dorothy hit him critically.
Raigh takes care of the Archer. I love Raigh's Shaman palette. It may be a little too colourful for a dark mage, but I honestly love it. It's a shame his Druid palette is so different. I like that one too, but this one's better, in my opinion.
I'm tired of these two. Tate'll be skewering the Myrmidon, and before the Brigand has time to reach anybody, they'll both be dead.
No more enemies anywhere near us.
All according to plan.
Saul takes care of everything else.
More speed! More! He didn't cap speed before promoting, but now he's definitely going to make it. Only 4 points to go.
This, however, is even more important. Aureola might just be usable at this rate.
Another level for Raigh. Let it be good!
Are you serious?! Not even HP?!
He procced his 15% luck growth, and nothing else. I don't know whether to feel lucky or...
The northernmost chest contains a white gem, which I want. Go, Astolfo!
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhh!
Jesus Christ on a bike, I was not expecting that one.
Bah... why are you doing this to me, Raigh?
Revenge! Darkness... boulder?
One more! No, I'm not biased in Raigh's favour, what do you mean Tate also needs experience?
Okay, just one more kill and all the rest will go to Tate.
We're fast approaching the clean-up phase.
Lalum's at a clear disadvantage compared to other Dancers in the series, since she (and Delphin) have typical unpromoted caps.
Very well, the cash is ours.
The boss! I'll review him in a minute, but first...
A little bit more cash.
Very well. And now, the award to the stupidest spanish name in Fire Emblem goes to...
Warrior the Berserker! Hell yeah! He was called Gelero in the old translation, which is completely stupid, but at least it isn't Warrior the Berserker. I don't even...
Anyhow, as a boss, Guerrero isn't that tough. Just don't let him equip his hand axe and you'll be fine.
The two guys below him don't move, and act as mini-bosses of sorts. I say "of sorts" becuase they're pathetically easy to deal with.
Look at that. Even Raigh and his cumbersome con can double this guy.
Still, this is the only flux tome we'll be getting until the end of chapter 13, so I'd rather save it a little.
Hmph... well, not bad, but I'd like speed better.
Hah. Yeah, no.
Saul! Stop that!
Okay, good. I probably shouldn't have done that, inmediately after Saul missed with an even higher chance of hitting, but eh.
Time to take care of the boss.
As usual, this is ridiculous.
Even Saul and Dorothy struggle to take him out. Stupid thrones...
That's his whole quote. He's Warrior, the Berserker!
As usual, the plan is to waste time until we can kill him. Still not as bad as Legance. I doubt we'll ever get something as bad as Legance again.
Still, just in case, we're at turn 17.
6 enemies, eh? I didn't notice that when I first played through the chapter, but as you shall soon see, it didn't matter.
I'd forgotten this chest. Can you blame me?
Oh. Well, that's convenient.
Worthashot.png
Worthashot2.png
Fuck!
I swear, if Dorothy dies because of the worst RNG ever...
Good, good. Luck smiles my way, for once.
Now we have to deal with him and his hand axe. Urk...
Never mind. Thanks, Dorothy.
Aha! Amazing level up, Dorothy!
Like I said earlier, I didn't notice the fact that the objectives screen outright told me there were a few enemies left, so instead, I decided to go and explore the fog to find some more stray bags of experience.
Basically, the result is the same.
Oh. Pffffhahahahah. I forgot about Astolfo. Eh, at least I could finally screenshot the noxious fumes.
There, there, don't make a fuss about it.
Oh, my! Le shock! Enemies! Who could've foreseen that?
At this point, I remembered Tate was in need of training as well, and so, I helped her move downwards. Saul and Dorothy move north to meet her: let the Brigand come to us.
The Brigand... isn't coming to us.
He didn't even try to flee, either. He was driven to a state of shock by heaven's light.
Good for Tate.
More enemies!
These guys are honestly too pathetic.
Oh, well. +2 WEXP, I suppose.
This screenshot exists because I thought that would be the end of it, so I wanted to show you the fact that Tate would be left at 96 EXP 'til next chapter. Annoying.
Thankfully, I decided to investigate a little further.
Just what we needed.
That's a... trippy frame. Why did the pegasus turn into an eagle? Why is it holding its hands as if it's about to dive into a pool? Why is Tate holding her lance with only one hand? Why is she throwing her other arm behind her head (over the pegasus' butt, if you don't see it)?
Not bad, I guess...
And that concludes Saul's light training for this chapter. Almost halfway through C. Not bad, not bad at all.
Oh, I forgot another chest! Go get it before we seize, Astolfo.
I... also forgot another Brigand. It's a good thing I didn't forget any more, because that would've been the end of Tate.
Whoa, Peg Knight has a lot of weird frames, doesn't it? Although this is more "sexy hair" than anything else. Shame her hair is a green blob with 4 pixels of face underneath.
Since Saul had only 2 uses left of his tome, I decided to give him the kill.
This time for real, here's Saul's light rank: halfway through C. Very good, all things considered.
Ah, torch. That'll be useful in two chapters.
And thus, we seize Warrior the Berserker's throne. He won't be remembered.
For whatever reason, Roy's hearing is worse than Delphin's. Then again, blind people are supposed to be the goodest in the ears, according to the internet.
Good, they solved the mystery.
Ah, redundancy. As we progress, it becomes more and more apparent that it is an important theme of this chapter's plot.
Ahem.
Stop repeating "Armads, thunder axe of Durban"! Are you really going to force us to make an ATTAoD counter?!
Ah, the bad news. I'd like to know how this generic messenger knew we were in this cave, though.
Oh, dear. That isn't very nice.
Merlinus, tired of Delphin having taken his place as Roy's go-to Man Who Is Relevant To The Plot, barges in with one of his very own Merlinus Stupidly Useless Exclamations™.
I wish he got a clue and stayed dead.
What!? The King?!!?!?!?
Never mind that, they got the King!!??!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
As sad as it is, that's probably quite close to Douglas' actual reaction to these news.
Yes, Merlinus, that is indeed what the messenger said, thank you. But at least you didn't say not Armads, Thunder Axe of Durban.
Roy, ever the smart person, has his priorities straight: Cecilia first, then Guinivere, then at the very bottom, Mordred. Who at least has a name, which puts him... around one centimeter above King Aurelis of Aurelis...?
Keep this line in mind.
That's... quite a lot of current information for not having any current information.
I swear, those two chapters of being replaced by Little Shit didn't do Merlinus any good. He could've been replaced by Gonzales, or Sue's brother, for what his lines thus far've been worth.
She's with Cecilia, I'm sure they'll be fine.
And thus, we get Armads, Thunder Axe of Durban.
I didn't show off Durandal when we got it, did I? Oh, well, I remembered to show Armads, at least. Armads, Thunder Axe of Durban, is a pretty amazing weapon. 18 might, increases defense, quite lightweight... such a shame we can't use it, lest we risk losing the endgame.
Well, that's it. Next time, a pretty good chapter. Do try to fare well until then.
You there! The old guy with the cleric!
How rude--
...!?
Did nobody ever tell you to be respectful to your elders?!
Mm hm. Whatever. I have a question for you.
Well?
Do you know of a man named Ruben?
Oh... him. Yes, I know him. Why?
Could you tell me where he is?
W-well, I'm sorry, I don't think we can tell you anything...
I-- ow!
Heh... heheh...
...is it because I was rude?
C'moooon... rrrrgh... help a little kid in need...
Pretty please...?
N-no! We really don't know anything!
...
...well, then. Goodbye.
...
...could you please explain what in the world that was?
That kid... he can't be up to any good.
Hmph... what do you mean?
Look at him! Does he not remind you of someone?!
...oh... oh, my, now that you mention it... so that's why he wanted to know where Ruben was.
We can't tell him!

Come now, Marcus...
I won't tell him anything.
Phew... thank you, Marcus.
But I would like to know why you're acting so strangely. What is it that you're not telling me?
Right... we never had the chance to tell you. Well, then, but I trust you to be discrete.
I shall. Now, what's the big secret?
You see...

Ah, LPer in-jokes.
9 hours ago, Dayni said:Can Hatchet cut it?
Hahahahahah... eggscellent.
9 hours ago, Dayni said:I'm fine with trashing Batta.
Go right ahead. I, too, am not that fond of him.
9 hours ago, Dayni said:Well, I'll actually have to deal with combat this time, might not do as well with it.
Relax, this is Lyn's mode. It doesn't really matter until, what, Eagler's chapter? Everything prior to that is tutorial land. And even after that, it's only marginally less tutorial landish. Forget all the screencaps you want, at least until Eagler.
9 hours ago, Dayni said:Is is strange because of the names? I mean, it can't be all that weird for two people to be on the road together.
It's strange because IntSys intended for Mark to be a self-insert, not an actual character like
Bruce LeeBrewsley Damnit Dayni, another "r" and the pun would've been perfectBewsley, so we have a guy from the XXIth century hanging around with a woman from the Middle Ages of Anime.9 hours ago, Dayni said:Sain's also leering a bit here. Holy crap does he think that's a good idea?
I have but one thing to say.

9 hours ago, Dayni said:Kent actually tries to be smooth. It might actually work.
Well, considering her facial expression... no, I don't think it did.
9 hours ago, Dayni said:I realise how stupid I was to not actually take screenshots of everyone's initial stats
Hey, it's not that bad. You could go the entire LP without showing people's bases, like some others.
9 hours ago, Dayni said:Dayni is dumb: +1
I would use you-know-who whose name begins with an "L", but you know what? I'll let you do it yourself.
9 hours ago, Dayni said:Not even a level from it. That was supposed to be for Kent.
Fireemblem.png much? Oh, well. Better luck next time.
9 hours ago, Dayni said:Look at
MarkHatchet in the corner. I think this might be the last shot we see of him in a CG.It's also the first time I've ever noticed him there. Why does he wear tree-coloured robes?
9 hours ago, Dayni said:Lyn's granddad's realisation he has a daughter.
Not going to correct you there. The idea of Hausen going senile and just now remembering he had children at some point is oddly fitting as well as hilarious.
9 hours ago, Dayni said:how could he be sure that the bandit doesn't just ill some randomer and collects on the payment?
Perhaps because Banditman isn't exactly a bacteria, and thus can't really make somebody ill?
Bwahahah... sorry.
9 hours ago, Dayni said:So an actual fight is over. One where Lyn did better than either trained knight. The trust in these two might be misplaced.
Well, they got horses. They can rescue Lyn and Chester in order to save turns while proceeding to the next chapter. Efficiency!
9 hours ago, Dayni said:Next time: Strange women Lynin' in temples prayin' to swords is no basis for a system of inheritance
Magnificent pun, but you pulled a Saul there and forgot a period. Now, you don't wanna be like Saul in any way, do you?
Well, that was fun. I hope I didn't go too overboard with my reply. Looking forward to the next update!

Nah, you're good.
But who's this "worst person in the world"?
Saul, the guy who uses religion to get laid, then judges a guy for doing more or less the same. The guy who's commited all twelve deadly sins at some point. The guy who thinks with his dick. The worst Priest ever! Saul!

Are you implying Cure Yell ships Elen x Saul?
Ehh, I've had people judge me for liking the ship so I'm used to it.
Also, I'm questioning it.
Hey, I'm not judging you, I was just joking. Sorry if it didn't seem that way.

Definitely looks like a wonderful babysitter, but... she ships somebody with the worst person in the world. That... worries me.
Regardless, I'd say yes.

Yes, I too know what it is to wake up screaming those words.

I love the MC already.
12 hours ago, Dayni said:MarcHatchet gets referred to as a Strategist and a Tactician. Are the two not different?I don't think so, no. Also, wrong Marc, you mean Mark.
12 hours ago, Dayni said:Insert 2 dead bandits (one claiming to be a beast), disappointment for axekind (I mean, not even a bit of threat!) and a Lyn level here:
Oi! How dare you disrespect the man who's, rather bafflingly, a meme!
12 hours ago, Dayni said:+1 to HP, Str, Skl, Spd, Luk.
You know what, that's a fantastic first level.
Also, this makes me happy for you, but on a personal level, it angers me. That could've been MY level!
12 hours ago, Dayni said:So after Lyn robs someone else's house (She's seizing a yurt, what else could be happening?), we have a timeskip.
Maybe she just claimed it for herself. It's much bigger than her little, single-tile home.
12 hours ago, Dayni said:It's a bit of an odd choice for Lyn to just decide to go with the first person she's known for more than a day, being honest.
Not to mention, that person appears to have lost their memories.
12 hours ago, Dayni said:Point being, I think Lyn's actually not a bad character
Agreed, but this game does not do her justice.
12 hours ago, Dayni said:>She doesn't even get to avenge them
Good ol' Wallace. Please tell me you'll use him. Boss abuse Lundgren if you have to, but please use the Silver General.
12 hours ago, Dayni said:I swear this should improve. Any ideas taken
It's already good, don't worry.
Please, ignore this junk at the end. Mobile phones suck for this sort of thing, but the alternative was to wait 5 hours to get to my computer.

Hmm... Matthis. Let's spice things up. Whatever class you feel he'd be less bad in.

Gameplay > Story > Soundtrack > Visuals
While I would definitely take a great game with a bad story over a bad game with a great story, having a good story is a very good bonus. Games aren't a bad tool for storytelling, and unlike what some people seem to believe (cough cough David Cage cough cough), you don't have to sacrifice everything that makes a game a game in order to make a good story. RPGs are the best examples of this, but there are also plenty of examples in other genres.
It doesn't even need to be the main part of the game: Rogue Legacy's story is very secondary, yet the plottwist at the end (which I won't spoil here) blew my mind, and got me even more motivated to try and defeat the final boss. Having great gameplay isn't necessarily incompatible with having an inmersive world, interesting, well-written characters and a good, compelling plot.
So, yeah, gameplay first, then story. If a game has plenty of the first and enough of the second to get me invested, then it's perfect. If it doesn't, well, so long as the gameplay is great, then I'm fine with it as well.
I also appreciate a good soundtrack. Heck, I've come to know about some games through their soundtrack: I started to play Castlevania: Order of Eclessia after listening to the personal theme of my profile picture's character. I liked it that much. Great music always makes things better, and while it's not a gamebreaking issue if the music sucks, it's definitely an issue. Terraria is the first game that comes to my mind when talking about this: I liked that one, but I disliked the music so much, I muted it and for the longest time, just listened to my own music while playing it. Of course, this is all nothing more than my opinion.
Then, at the very bottom, are the visuals. Good graphics are nice, but as long as I can make out what's going on in one way or another, I'm good, and I'm certainly not going to buy a game just for its graphics.

Samson trying to kill Sheena in FE12 is, in my opinion, even more egregious than most of the other Matthis syndrome cases in the Archanea series, because while I can sort of wrap my head around Astram not recognizing Midia (Paladins use helmets in combat, after all), Matthis panicking and throwing javelins at everything that moves, Wendell just trying to defend himself (even though he clearly attacks first most of the time) and Navarre being insane, Samson just has no excuses.
The only people in the throne room are himself and Sheena (so it's not like he could've confused her for an Archanean General or something), he knows Sheena, Sheena knows him, they're in very good terms (heck, it's made very clear that they're in love), neither of them are established to have mental problems, Samson's a level-headed, experienced warrior... yet Samson will gleefully try to murder Sheena if she doesn't speak to him inmediately after being recruited by Marth. I just cannot think of any reason to excuse such behavior. Not even a lame, easily countered reason, like the ones I came up with in the first paragraph. I've got nothing.
Seeing how they fixed Sheena being able to kill her own troops in the remake, it's rather baffling that they'd forget about this. Was it so hard to make it so Samson would turn blue at the same time as Sheena?
I'm not saying any of the other Matthis syndrome cases aren't stupid, they very much are, but this is even more so.

Oh, please, not another lyrics reference! I told you I'm horrible at those! Now's when it turns out it's of a Dragonforce song I've listened, but I can't figure it out because I'm more of a melody man than a lyrics man.
Not this Melody, I've never seen her before.*
Although... somehow, I think that could be arranged...
Hey, I'm just gonna edit this since it won't allow me to do it in the original post. I really should make an effort to proofread my shit better. I make a joke with a gigantic, obnoxious image, and then I forget to write half of the punchline. I impress myself sometimes... only way this could get worse is if now I get banned because bikinis. I hope that doesn't come to pass...
