  1. Another thing I want them to do is to improve the situation with pity rates because the current amount of orbs needed for guaranteed 5* is too high. Have you ever reached the point when you accumulated big enough rate and just wished some 5* broke it so you could move on? I think there is a way to partially fix it. When you hit around 5,50% the game would automatically ask you if you wish for a random 5* or want to roll further. There probably should be a catch to make the deal more bitter like not being able to get focus units but it all depends on IS' generosity.

  2. I doubt that a full blown IV reroll will ever happen so at least they should make it possible to make any unit neutral. People who roll for better boon/bane won't stop rolling. I'm even okay if it ends up a rare item that you can only get during celebrations.

Another thing I doubt will happen but I really want them to remove 3* from regular gacha and place it into some discount gacha that only has 3*-4* units. There had been zero new rollable 3* units since launch and there is a real possibility that natural 5* pool might become the biggest if they keep making all those limited time units and downgrading to 4 only one character from each banner.

Please, make some rare but old skills like Close Counter slightly easier to get. Give it to a new unit that could be rolled at 4*. I'm even okay if the rare skill will be locked behind 20k of feathers, just make it easier to roll.

Please, make more banners like Sibling Bonds where you have a bunch of new regular units from different games.

I think they could do a lot of damage to the new game if they gave us a banner featuring the main protagonist of FE16 and his closest allies.

Main characters definitely should be saved for later. They need to use someone on lower importance level like, for example, Franz from Sacred Stones and who fall into usual class archetypes. And it should be 1-2 characters, no more. Even better if they were a free 3* reward for beating maps.

The OP of the thread said in the very first sentence not like that. He's suggesting whether they'd give us FE Switch content before the game releases at all, not the week the game releases in either region.

And I think it's unlikely we'll see them do that. The team working on Heroes and FE16 are not the same and would have to coordinate how best to represent these new characters in a way that makes FE16 enticing. The Heroes team has to sign NDAs, the FE16 team has to be okay with third party artists depicting their characters, and both sets of voice actors have to be hired and available for their roles sooner. It's certainly not impossible for them to set up some teaser pre-release content for FE16, but it's definitely trickier than waiting until release week like they did for Echoes.

But this doesn't seem to be too complicated? Japanese VA recording will be probably done simultaneously for both FE Switch and Heroes. I don't exactly see why a bunch of artists cannot work under NDA. The risk of leak of some vital information should be minimal because the promotional content isn't supposed to be spoilery from the start.
I think the biggest problem will be an early appointment of dub VA.

  5. I've noticed Echoes has a rather baffling gender segregation in supports. Alm and Celica seem to be the only characters who are allowed to have supports with opposite gender that don't end up in marriage. (Well, Delthea and Luthier are siblings) Won't Clair and Lukas talking make more sense than Clair and Delthea? Is it the reason why Genny can only support Sonya?

Kliff and Faye support should have been a thing purely from gameplay point. If you make it possible to leave them for Celica then you should give them at least each other to support.

  6. And I don't mean releasing a banner one week before the game comes out in Japan.
For example, Pokemon Company are famous for introducing some Pokemon from new generations long before their games are officially out. Intelligent Systems could take a couple of units from FE Switch and make a short series of paralogues featuring them as important characters while giving some hints about plot/lore/music/maps/etc to build more interest. Bonus points if they do it out of nowhere to make people talk about it.
Of course, it won't replace more traditional forms of advertising but it might make an interesting...experiment? Would you like it?

Quick Riposte banner is all male right now. Klein, Leo, and Subaki are not women, although you can pretend Subaki is basically Cordelia without the padded armor.

I'm talking mainly about bi-monthly banners with brand new units. I don't think Luthier/Kliff/Valbar/Kamui banner would be very exciting for people who usually roll for cute girls and unfortunately those people make up a decent chunk of japanese audience who spend real money on gacha.

  8. Relevant food for thoughts. So far all banners were either gender-equal or female dominant. Tatiana and Silque are the only playable female characters from Echoes that aren't in Heroes yet but there are also about ten male units. I don't worry about Kliff and Conrad because they seem to be a given but what about the rest? Do they have faith to pull off all male gacha banner? Or will they be forgotten until better times? This is actually something relevant to all games with heavily uneven male:female ratio.

Anyway, I doubt they will do another Echoes TT right away. They need some time before putting Delthea, Sonya and the rest on banners again.

  9. I'm not sure if people need to use logical explanations for Alm and Celica's immediate attraction when the game more or less states that they are destined to be together. I don't remember the exact text but Halcyon says something about Alm and Celica's souls being a pair. So yeah, it's not a very popular cliche and many consider it to be bad writing but I don't think people need to go on huge rants to justify and add realism to their romance. However, I do think that Celica was living in Ram Village for at least 3-4 months. Seems to be enough time to accustomize, make some friends and leave an impression on other adult villagers.

  10. Oh, one minor thing about Rigel. It's supposed to be a land that respects strength but I don't think they ever mentioned any self-made people who rose up in ranks because of their abilities that have nothing to do with social status. Zeke is a very special snowflake case so he doesn't count. Berkut's attitude suggest that rigelian nobles have pretty similar views to zofians on the subject of social classes.
So, basically, not only rigelian commoners have to work hard for crops but Duma's philosophy has nothing that could reward them, not even better opportunities. You can be proud about being more hardworking than average zofian but it doesn't make you less hungry and cold.

  11. I keep wondering about Berkut's intended role from Rudolf's perspective. Did Rudolf train him to be the next emperor just to avoid any suspicions or he was a legitimate back up successor who would have taken Rudolf's place if Alm failed? Was he always intended to be another sacrifice for the sake of the great plan or Rudolf overestimated Berkut's mental strength and expected him to understand the whole deal and accept Alm? Massena's words at least implied that Rudolf wanted Alm to spare Berkut.

The "Crush those bastards" line was like, one of two lines Alm got in the original game that gave him any character, and it's the line the Awakening writers seemed to go with, since Alm's lines in the Awakening DLC had him being perplexed as to how you could resolve conflicts without violence.

I honestly have problems visualizing Echoes with Alm's Awakening DLC personality. For starters, there is no way Awakening Alm would go as far as saving every damsel in distress and he would definitely agree with Clive about Delthea's situation unless the army needs more mages and they strike a deal with Luthier or something.

  13. Was Alm actually THAT aggressive in Gaiden? I re-read the script and outside of "crush those bastards" which is completely understandable given the situation there wasn't anything special that would paint him into a full savage. In fact Rudolf says "I hear that Sofia's young general is a man of compassion" before their grand battle. Also the wiki says he talked in feminine way in OG Gaiden, is it true?
Another thing is that I don't think the plot is supposed to have intentional your birth doesn't matter aesop. The game beats you over the head with implications that Alm is special starting with prologue and drops hints like crazy. It's just another story about the choosen one.

Also, FE seems to have serious problems with allowing male protagonists to be wrong. Celica, Eirika and Micaiah all screw up but Alm, Ephraim and Ike can't.

Funny thing is, Clair already filled that role, and she's got a much better written relationship with Alm than Faye does.

Because just one is clearly not enough for a modern japanese game.  And the fact that Clair gets together with one of Alm's friends makes her, let's say, less appealing for a certain demographic of japanese fans.

It just feels like there wasn't much thought put behind her inclusion.  If she had, say, managed to find another passion in life I'd like her!  But she doesn't.  I honestly have no idea why they added her, I guess to make Alm look good?

Well, I guess I do like her actually, but it just feels like a waste.  I wish they had done SOMETHING else with her.

I think she's supposed to fill "a girl who is close to the main character and has a crush on him" slot. Alm's actual love interest has her own journey and they don't join forces until the last map. So they made a loyal waifu character who is always there for Alm and pretty much exists solely for him.

I'm annoyed because they could give their new female villager unit any personality but went for a very shallow option. Plus she has a very good character design that's probably why so many people are eager to talk about her.

Conrad seems to have similar purpose but it's platonic and he comes with more story baggage.

With both Roy and Ike getting included I'd certainly like to hope that Marth is also going to get a card in here.

I don't think it will be the case. However, original Akaneia is starting to feel somewhat badly represented compared to the other continents.

  17. At this point FE12 (+ BS Fire Emblem) is the only game they didn't cover. This of course doesn't mean they are running out of material because lots and lots of units still lack cards.

Oh and I think this implies that FE Warriors will be early to mid-Fall release because having TCG coming out just after the game's release is a bit strange. This is of course if they release series 11 during early December and not later.
