So far it sold better than PoR/RD in Japan.
Amazon sales mean nothing unless Amazon themselves talk about huge sales/pre-orders.

I think he is mostly aimed at female players just like Faye feels like an addition aimed at guys. Some of his CGs look like they came straight from otome games and some of his interactions with Celica makes me think he's sorta plays the role of pseudo love interest. Hope it doesn't sound creepy but I don't know the better way to explain.
I wish he didn't join so late but I guess it was intentional to create a parallel with Zeke.
Is it me or his child version sort of looks like Amuro Ray? -

Maybe this is exactly what they will do and the reason why they went with Pegasus Knight Faye. They could just compensate it later with PR card for one of sisters.
Characters I expect to be completely excluded (regular, ST and promos) are Deen, Atlas, Forsyth (they really ignored him during promotion), Luthier and probably Jesse even though he is somewhat important to Valentian lore. Basically, I doubt they will use more than 3 characters for one class with exception for Cavalier line. Too many important cavs.

Might sound a bit strange but his popularity is the exact reason why people would be more eager to buy him as DLC instead of F!Robin. F!Robin gets in first because I expect them to prioritize female characters where it's possible.

And that's a lot for one map that potentially has like 10 minutes of content. Of course I might be wrong and the maps are long and full of new things like music and CGs (they did bother with new portraits for Clive and Matilda) and a ton of voiced dialogue but still. Fates Map Pack 2 had 6 maps and was cheaper. (and I didn't buy it)

Everything is overpriced. One story map costs 500 yen, is it some kind of full VA tax? I understand that they encourage you to buy the whole pack but still.
I unironically hope that japanese players who bought special Echoes 5000 yen card will spend the majority of it on something else. -
We know that the base game has leftover phrases for playable version of Berkut so maybe there will be more story DLC in the future. I kind of doubt it though. At any rate it's strange how much focus it has on Deliverance considering how they already seem to be the most fleshed out group in the core game.

Wanted to make an Amiibo thread but then realized that it's likely already exists.
Anyway, do you expect Warriors to get its own brand new Amiibo? Not the whole cast but maybe 1-2 characters who don't have one yet (hello, Chrom).
And do you expect all of Amiibo FE characters to be playable in the game? Mind that the characters themselves won't be locked behind Amiibo but their bonuses like additional weapons or alt costumes will. If it's the case then we already know about a half of the whole roster.

Is Celica really " 100% naïve, loving and very typical kind anime girl"? From watching some videos I've got the impression that she's less sociable and more hard on herself than Alm and seems to have difficulties with relying on her companions.

And now IS have about 35 semi-new characters they could put into Heroes gacha and some people will spend money on them. I guess you can call it an investment.

I'm in the camp who thinks that they didn't have huge expectations for Echoes. The game barely had any coverage in Japan until that long 7 minute video and they didn't start to advertise it until 2 weeks before the release. In fact I've seen people on twitter only remembering about the release date because they saw commercials on TV.
People should worry more about FE Switch. It will be the first HD mainline Fire Emblem game which means more expensive development and if you remember about IS' struggles with 3D, there is a real possibility of it ending up a badly optimised and somewhat rushed game.

I feel somewhat uneasy because adding even more shipbait for lords with canon love interests just adds more unneeded fuel to the fire. Now you're going to have more people being angry about Alm not being able to romance Faye/Clair/Silque instead of Celica or Celica not getting with...does she even have any shipbait with other characters?
I don't think it's good to compare Malicia to Faye because Malicia seems to be a comedic character with her delusions and obsession being played for laughs. Kind of like Roger.

I'm surprised that people aren't talking about Archanea finally getting their own water dragons, Dagon. They are Fire Dragon recolors and use Water Breath. Their meat is also a delicacy in Valentia. Thanks for opening a new can of worms, IS.
Another interesting thing that White Dragons don't look undead anymore but there is still no explanation about their origins.

Baron's promotion looks to me like it's taking clues from roman legioners. Priestess promotion (or maybe it's alternate promotion for female Mages?) looks like some sort of Dark Priestess. Sage's promotion/alt makes me think of original Sage sprite from Gaiden.

Oh God, it probably means there will be two types of DLC code for S9 box just like there are always two types of promo cards and sleeves.

There is another thing that keeps bothering me. Some NPC art in graphics rip has placeholders consisting of Rinean art + name of a character. Two of them are for Celica's parents and another one is for "sister" NPC. Either they scrapped some memories or we're getting more via DLC.

Whether SoV gets good sales or not, people will be getting more obsessed with the idea of FE4 remake with each passing year. The moment SoV was announced we arguably entered into FE version of Pokemon remake cycle.

I still think Faye is unironically aimed at the same crowd who love female characters obsessed with player avatars. This type of character is currently very popular in Japan especially if they have prominent yandere tendencies. Yes, Alm is not an avatar but he is the next closest thing in Echoes. The fact that she doesn't get a good ending just adds her some pity points and it doesn't matter because she is still showering Alm with her dedication through the whole game.
