  1. I can't speak in terms of numbers but I believe the Spear Master class is a good one. I particularly like the ability Seal Defense as, combined with good attack and high defense, makes the Spear Master a tank. Made my Kamui a Spear Master in Conquest and, with Draconic Hex, Seal Defense, Jakob as an assist and a Killer Lance, she was an army of one for the later chapters.

Considering the title says stats I don't think they want skills factored in and Hoshido Noble has pretty much the same defense stats and access to Dragonstones for more if they choose to go the defensive route, and since Dragonstone+ reduces Magic and not Strength you still have Yato as a fall back if your Magic drops too far.

If you only use Iron weapons or the lowest equivalent weapon in the category such as a regular beast stone or dragon stone then the General wins almost all fights, while the Hoshido Noble wins all of them, not counting in skills of course. Depending on your playstyle I'd say Berserker is the 'best' class stats wise this of course assumes you don't put him in harms way and just use his high attack. Hoshido Noble is pretty solid, stats-wise fairly balanced and a good weapon set with swords and staves, letting you use Yato, but simply carrying the sword gives the bonuses so it works on the Berserker too. Vanguard caps look pretty solid for a class that can be given to anybody (provided they're the correct gender) so, that's a merit for it. Lodestar has high luck if you're interested in a luck-based Midori so that's something I guess.

Well, Swordsmaster is still good. So you have 1 swordsmaster (Ryoma) and 2 other Samurai's. i prefer swordsmaster much above weapon master.

Swordmaster might be a useful class for Swordfaire, but you can't say it's caps are the 'best' or at the very least can't say it's caps are "still good" considering they were pretty terrible in Awakening and that's what the opening is asking about max stats. (it's not great in terms of caps in Fates either)

  2. I've looked around and haven't been able to find what color each marriageable character grants and how they look on each child, is there any sort of resource for how each child is effected by each potential mother floating out there? I tend to pick my pairing based mostly on hair colors.

  3. Corrin can be used to give Nohr classes to Hoshido and vice verse which can get you some skills that aren't readily available in that army and since Corrin is dynamic in modifiers it really just comes down to what you're going for. You can do the 3rd gen thing again for a better Kanna or you can use Corrin to influence two children and go Azura, outside of that you just have to think about who you're pairing with since you can fit anybody really with him/her.

Azura can marry Male Corrin so Corrin can influence 2 children outside of that Azura is more of a throw away marriage, she herself being the dancer of this version may not spend a lot of time fighting while at the same time she earns her place in your time, but if she's not being actively used then the marriage is only for Shigure. He innately gets skills that can let him shut down magic if you want to go that route either way he doesn't get a battle skill so something to get Luna, Rend Heaven anything really wouldn't be the worst idea.

It's not so cut and dry as what you're looking for. Rinkah IMO is pretty lack luster in the end, she's just a band-aid for her pair-up bonus, if you're talking about for beating the game and not end game, pair up with Felicia as a male Corrin, you get her right away, her personal skill is useful and she has use as utility should you need to separate, Rinkah from my experience tends to fall short as a unit and when factoring in the personal skill dedicated to Corrin she doesn't offer terribly much. Felicia's damage reduction is universal where Rinkah is just giving defense likewise her damage boost is universal as well which fits Corrin using Magic or Strength which can be a decent factor if you get screwed by the RNG and stat growths in a particular area. Rinkah doesn't cover RNG issues like Felicia does and once you get Flame Shuriken then Felicia is useful in her own right outside of just utility.

  4. Am I the only one thinking that chasing down injured helpless enemies is a good idea in general? If you're trying to fix things between the two countries then sure it's not a good idea and that's what they're going for, but if you're playing to win, it makes sense to slaughter anybody that might potentially raise a weapon against you again. It's not like she wanted to chop off their heads and adorn the castle walls with them all though that too would send a pretty clear "join or die" message.

I'd be for besieging a castle using the severed heads of enemy soldiers to load the catapults or hanging their corpses throughout towns to serve as a warning to any who opposed you that it could be you hanging in town square, weaken the enemy anyway you can to win, burn their food and salt the land, take no prisoners and slaughter all who oppose you hanging their mangled bodies for all to see, sends a pretty clear message that they should just stop fighting.

  5. It is stored as a graphic, yes. But that doesn't mean the devs drew it by hand.

A lot of title fonts aren't officially a font or rather not one available to put on your computer and use.

    -

You can search fire emblem at dafont or something if that yields no results you could always try to define your own font off it. What are you wanting it for exactly? What letters are you wanting out of it?

(IMO this is more of a creative section question, than one related to Awakening or Fates, but then again the creative section appears to mostly be fanart, sprites, or fanfiction and this is kind of a graphics question.)

  6. Use them on units that want the skills Awakening is good for Crit or Avoid centered characters. Lodestar doesn't have anything that interests me really, Speedtaker can pair with Galeforce units though for in-game that's about it so maybe use the Lodestar for a character who's final classes you aren't fond and want to switch it up, but IMO the Lodestar class isn't very impressive. Luck based characters with luck based skills can make use of Lodestar though so use it on Midori I guess and double down into her personal skill usage.

  7. Honestly I haven't even tried using lunge yet. I don't really like how the weapons can't break. I kind of preferred it the way it was in the other games, Conquest and Birthright are just way too easy as a whole. I haven't played hard mode yet so that will be more of a challenge I'm sure.

You're playing normal mode and saying the game is easy, doesn't make a lot of sense considering there are harder difficulties for a reason. That said the game is pretty easy on Lunatic IMO.

I'm only on chapter 8, and I realized, I second seal to Cavalier instead of the class I wanted.

Why is choosing class, one of the most vital things, so hidden in the character creation(I know where it is, but it only shows up at the end when confirm is there).

It's not hidden IMO, it's pretty much blatantly there.

What bothers me most is the RNG, 1% chance to crits popping way more often than they probably should, 30% hitting when about 90% misses 3-4 times in a row. The length of debuffs kind of irk me, I like the debuffs, but having your entire team debuffed by numerous ninjas gets tedius IMO. I haven't gotten to the point of Brave Weapons, but they still appear to be broken. Witches skill to warp anywhere they want and still take an action bothers me just for it's future existence. Avatar being weak to Wyrmslayer at all times is pretty annoying IMO just because it's your main character and all. Carrying applying X providing substantial bonuses also bothers me.

On the plus side I rather like the unbreakable weapons, which I didn't think I would, but allowing you to carry multiple weapons for various situations is nice and the negatives to weapons are nice as well at least some of them are nice, some are pointless, some are just annoying and scream never use this weapon, and some are probably a little overcompensating letting certain weapons reign supreme in most situations instead of providing situational advantages to having multiple different types of weapons. IMO Silver should have the caveat of not activating skills not the already weak weapons for instance, so you can trade stable high end weapon damage for not being able to have the chance to activate your skills, Brave weapons should have just went away IMO or at least not have been able to activate skills as a compensation.

  8. The skills they can get are already posted on Serenes' Other page when viewing the acquirable skills.

Robin's Book of Thoron is pretty nice and the weak(er) version holds up pretty well for awhile as well. Divine Ragnell being 1~2 range without a hefty negative is nice, but too bad the weaker version is only 1 range, still good for Ike.

Ike's Strengthtaker being progressive as it is seems hard to justify for me 5 kills with the same unit to get +10 str sounds, but vs it has pretty much 0 use and in the castle it's not great either considering there are fairly limited targets there. Speedtaker in the same vein. Awakening has my vote for the best skill the Amiibos come with the straight 30 bonusacross hit, crit, evade, and avoid even if it requires you to be at half seems like a good deal to me for some builds, the rest of the skills for the most part seem to get outclassed by skills available in-game. That said Ignis is pretty nice still for an active and Aether is Aether, I'm going to reserve full judgement on the actives until I actually sit down and crunch some numbers, but the change on Ignis is for the better at my first glance.

  9. In that case, they could just change that one line and keep the rest of the dialogue, but it would still be silly and they need to remember that this game is rated "T". I also noticed a while back that the warning about "Alchohol References" present in Awakening's case is not in Fates'.

What people can do and actually do are often 2 different things, that doesn't necessarily change the reason why it was changed how they decided to change it though.

  10. Oh wow. I don't want to call that confusing because it kind of makes sense but I really would rather have had all that rolled into an Attack Speed like stat...Although I suppose this is what happens when the devs want to include weapon weight without explicitly including weapon weight. Thanks for the help!

It's not really about weapon weight though. A javelin probably isn't particularly heavy, but it could be unwieldy to use making you vulnerable when using it. Something like Ragnell that lowers your double attack threshold his probably more about the intended weight of the sword, then certain weapons raise both your and your opponents double attack rate meaning if you have identical speed you both attack each other twice (if only your weapon effect is playing a part in double attack threshold)

Example of raising both combatants ability to double attack is Excalibur: Effective against flying units, Defence and Resistance -5; ability to double attack +5, enemy’s ability to double attack +5

  11. Damn it Kaze, why'd you have to make me wanna tear up right after I just got Corrinetta hitched to Silas? Now I'm feeling like going after YOU in another playthrough!

Right after chapter 15 this happened. That was just sad and I liked this guy as a character (his bro Saizo is cool too). :( He admitted to a big secret mistake he was holding onto and then sacrificed himself to save you! Now I'm certain he comes back somehow given that the Kaze statue just became a thing for me in the castle (had to add it after that... He was so noble to do what he did), but even so. Don't tell me anything about that, plz. :P

But anyone else find this just touching and hitting you right in the feels like it did for me?

    Shouldn't be a spoiler

Statues are given based on the number of kills a unit gets

Corrin is already feminine name (like Robin though whilst Robin is considered feminine curiously more males are named Robin than females) so why call female Corrin Corrinetta? The modified name should really be given to male Corrin considering the feminine default connotation. Also Anac don't read the above 2 posts if you're avoiding spoilers for all versions of the game, probably should avoid the above 3 posts since you can make inferences from Chaotix's post.

  12. I have a few questions about double attacking.

    1. Effective Speed. If the weapon you have does not alter this (i.e. like a Steel weapon lowering it) is this value just your speed stat after any other random alterations like Shuriken reductions or pair up boosts?

    2. What is the double attack threshold? Same as Awakening but sub Effective Speed for Speed (Your ES - Opp ES >= 5)? (obviously some weapons can't double attack and at least one skill prevents it as well).

    3. When you're in Attack Stance will the support unit attack twice if the lead unit attacks twice? Like will the support unit follow up each lead attack with a single dual strike or will it only apply to the first hit? I'm assuming they fixed the ridiculousness that was Brave Weapons on dual strikes in Awakening?

    4. Kind of random but I've been operating under the assumption that when I'm looking at my units that red stats mean lowered and blue stats mean raised. Then I remembered that when Pokemon started displaying the stat increases/reductions due to natures that blue meant lowered and red meant raised. So which is it?

    2. If you click speed it says you need 5 higher to attack twice when the threshold isn't changed.

Just wanted to add one thing since you're asking questions about the double attack system if you raise or lower your threshold it doesn't affect the enemy's double attack. Raising it just means you're able to double attack with less for instance +3 you only need 2 higher speed to double attack, but if you lower it for instance the -3 from Steel then you need 8 higher to double attack however the enemy still need 5 higher than your actual speed stat (if they have no modifiers). Javelins say weak to follow up attacks meaning they raise your opponents threshold making it easier for them to double attack. Javelin increases the enemies double attack threshold by 5 so an enemy with equal speed gets 2 attacks.

  13. Nohr Prince caps are

    HP 40 / Str 23 / Mag 17 / Skl 19 / Spd 21 / Lck 22 / Def 21 / Res 19

With Strong and Fragile they would be

    HP 40 / Str 27 / Mag 17 / Skl 21 / Spd 21 / Lck 21 / Def 20 / Res 18

Luck happens with Growth I took Magic as my Boon and my Str is well higher than my Magic atm, the Def booster you gave him put your Corrin at 19 Def which isn't his cap with your asset and flaw you probably failed to account that the Str Boon increases Defense by 2 so taking the Def Bane only actually reduces your Defense cap by 1. You prolly have what you thought you had, but just miscalculated the caps since it seems like you expect your Defense to cap at 18 due to the - 3 Def from the Def Bane modifier.
