MUH SIDES
That last option....man.
Well, I'm not too interested in Grunzford and Tricia, so here's some more Odie.
-
I'll try to keep track of these names. I tend to forget things.
Silly Levin. Seems that Trisha is the haughty gamer girl type.
What happened next was on so many scales of funny my sides hurt so fucking much.
-
Hydronos have pretty shitty accuracy...
Knight leaders can use fortress to increase defense by 60%
It would appear that certain units will use special abilities automatically when together in a group. 2+ knights in the same room will sometimes activate Defense Line, raising the defense of the entire group when under attack. Unfortunately, Pyromage attacks ignore defense.
Situation looks good.
Certain skills are also available when there's more than 1 of a unit in a group. 2 Bareknuckles together unlocks heatwave.
Galahad has a signature Tiger Blade
Another Southern belle, not unlike Levin's sister.
-
Oooohh, I think you're gonna like the epic battle comin up! Especially since royally pissed off Gig gets to spout some his most epic lines in the game!Heheheheheheh
New room locks, new room unlocks!
Hunting Lodge - Great for defense, but I don't think it'd be too useful since most maps demand that my squads move around.
Meanwhile I reroll for better rooms.
We come across Dio again. And yes, that's a cleric beating the living daylights out of him with a bible.
Great for ruining what could've otherwise been a peaceful resolution to a small argument, Gig.
Cakewalk. I think doing inspections every so often has overleveled my guys (the Thurists will beg to differ, but they're dead)
Heheheh new meatshield squad
Not having a healer certainly diminishes a squad's usefulness.
-
Too many of them? You underestimate me, Grunzford.
Heheheheh
To my surprise, the cultists actually put up a pretty good fight. My attacks did relatively little damage to them while they dealt moderate damage to me. I couldn't see if they had special decor....
Sami takes a big hit from Terror Blaze.
Summoning Galahad as secondary tank.
Grunzford hits hard.......but most of the time he misses.
Galahad buffs defense, Sami takes care of some assholes on her side of the bridge.
Latula bites it.
Not having a healer certainly sucks.
The battles are bloody and are turning into a back and forth slugfest of attrition.
Some of the thurists self destruct when killed.
Luckily I still have some unsummoned units.
END IT NOW
Well, shit.
-
So that's how Gig ended up in the sword. I wonder exactly how powerful Layna is.
daaaww
Time to defend the village....
DEATH TO ALL THOSE WHO OPPOSE SKITARII
-
Not as epic as taking down Thuris. In fact...it was pretty much a cakewalk....thanks to MAX GIGIFY
Epic lines though. RIP OFF YOUR HEAD AND SHIT DOWN YOUR NECK
Reminds me of a FE ending where all the characters get a one-liner and then go home.
Just kidding, only some of them get a farewell line. Gig is entirely silent.
If there's a battle icon at the Hidden Village...then does that mean......
Danette sounds slightly smart, for once.
-
REINFORCEMENTS YEAAAAAH. Frickin Cristophe, man.
Holy fuck all these new characters how the hell am I supposed to fit them into my rooms
-
OH GODS
Well, fuck.
FEINNE PLS STAHP
SEND THE CAVALRY IN
They teleported away.
-
Given the atmosphere of the situation, it feels like one of those "final battles".
Of course it's not, we still have to solve Gig's past.
TIME TO GET WRECKED.
I send Sami up north to fight off the archers. Knights have rather low attack so I'm not concerned at all abut Fodder Squad.
Meanwhile, I use Iron Will and move to the left. The Pyromages might spam Terror Blaze on me, and it's better to get Terror Blaze on me than on anyone else given how weak generics are.
While the objective says to endure 5 rounds, I found myself killing the living shit out of the loyalists by turn 4.
Merrigold got Macross Missile Massacre'd though
The king makes a short appearance for reasons that have been spoiler'd.
-
I warned you that this was a long story segment.
Is it time to destroy another World Eater yet?
-
DICK MOVE
Do note that the main cast of characters did not know what transpired. They only know what Galahad told them.
-
Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
And here, ladies and gentlemen, is what happens when a monarch doesn't behave in a Constitutional Monarchy.
-
Good job, Robin Hood.
Long story segment. The plot darkens a bit more and the world is thrown into chaos.
-
Well, scratch 1 world eater.
Grunzford is a badass grandpa
Didn't I just kill the lot of you?
What's next?!
New unlocks!
Cauldronette: Restores stamina on summon. Not likely to see much use since I keep my squads apart.
Redflank: A tough fighter with high hp...but accuracy is utter shit.
-
SHIT IS ABOUT TO GO DOWN
What happened next needs a video, not screenshots.
Enjoy.
-
Here we go again......
Every bandit is accompanied by 2-3 other units, mainly saboteurs, phynxes, and pyromages. Since all the leaders are bandits, this is mostly cakewalk.
BRING ON THE PAIN
It was short and annoying. Short because my army is made up of elite soldiers. Annoying because the enemy loves to hide.
New room
Adventure! - Summon far away. Great for getting to those enemies cowering behind others!
Rerolled rooms for another 25 minutes. More slots = YES
[sanding tensifies]
-
Aww shit
WARNING: GRAPHIC VIOLENCE.
This is pretty dark for Nippon Ichi.
-
Why is that redflank always following me....?
I'm creeped out.
Oh my.
More info is good. Vitali you're awesome.
THAT FUCKING LAUGH
-
More shit inbound.
The enemy is arranged in a peculiar semicircle formation. There's 8 squads, I believe, and they increment proportionally. Those closest have only 1, 2, 3, members while the farthest squad has 6(?) members.
The only thing I'm worried about is that the large squads have expended enough stamina to start pulling off special attacks on me by the time they get to me. And I can't get the drop on them first if they're hidden.
OH SHI-
They grab people, toss them, and shoot. That's sidewinder.
INCOMING
Invisible squads can be spotted if you bump into them. Well, ADVANCE
That was quick.
New room unlock: Crime Scene - You dodge most attacks but if something hits I think it's instadeath.
Upgrade the decor merchant....
We found some cultists. They creep me out. It's like I'm playing Bioshock Infinite again.
-
So we have a fallen angel and the descendant of Lord Median in 1 body. Splendid.
New unlocks!
Heaven's Room would be nice for non-squishy squads, but with lowered stats a single special attack could easily wipe everyone out.
-
A nice, little defense.
Let's check on Danette. I'm interested in her backstory.
Gig.....exactly what are you?
-
Moar Danette moments
Thank the Aspis gods. ACTION.
4 Squads, 4 corners, you know the drill.
Hm, new enemies. They're like gryphons or something. Probably melee attackers. The fact that they're flyers means Latula can probably hold them off all day if need be.
As predicted.
Hm, they're resistant to magic.
Their frontal attack is to rake you with sharp talons.
Melee squads have no damage advantage over them.
Their special ability is Battlecry, which nukes the whole squad (Leliana's dead) and lowers their attack so counterattacks would be greatly weakened.
Their mid attack is to rake you with talons 3 times. It's a lot more damaging than their frontal attack.
As we beat off the gryphons, they begin to show up in 3s.
-
Big story segments wheeeee
Muku Village....a village of the elderly and dying. Slowly.
Pretty sad and dark.
This is pretty deep. I'm reminded of the 5-metal men story from my Classics class.
Whoa Danette, what's happening?
Let's Play: Soul Nomad and the World Eaters - COMPLETED

Here, have some more laughs for the poor bastard.
Did Gig ever claim to be Master of Death at some point?
We now have Odie. I recruit another cleric.
Bandits again, and that dark-skinned chick Shauna's back!
Fuggin Odie
