So Rutger got RNG screwed hard
Illiterate Scholar replied to SilverNexez's topic in Fire Emblem: Binding Blade
It's not that bad. That strength is amazing. You still have time to catch up on speed and skills. -
Best Chapter in GBA FEs?
Illiterate Scholar replied to Weeping Dalek (MK)'s topic in GameBoy Advance Era
Final Chapter in FE7 is pretty awesome. I also like the final stage of the Ruins in FE8. I love fighting against overwhelming odds. -
Sylvia's pairing problems(FE4)
Illiterate Scholar replied to Flee Fleet!'s topic in NES and SNES Era
Levin and Fury pair up really quickly. Never had too much problem pairing character even without jealousy. -
Would you like to see a revamp of Gaiden?
Illiterate Scholar replied to Jedi's topic in NES and SNES Era
This running gag between me and a friend is that we need a remake of Gaiden, if only to see what the hell Doma is suppose to be. That alone is worth it. -
Thracia 776's arena wasn't a remix from any other game either. I think it's fine to mix it up. I kind of like the theme.

More Unpopular Fire Emblem Opinions
Illiterate Scholar replied to Rezzy's topic in General Fire Emblem
I think it's more of the suspension of disbelief. Yes, this is a story with magic and dragons, but if there's one thing that stays true is that people die. -
Booooooooo! Ok fine, I guess using only swordmaster Wrys is kind of like torture.

Why do people hate Awakening's story?
Illiterate Scholar replied to semolinaro's topic in Fire Emblem: Awakening
Link doesn't talk, and I really don't think Zelda stories are as complex as Fire Emblem. -
Everybody's bones are different in some ways. It's not just humans, but animals are the same. You can get 10 skulls of the same kind of animal, and each of them would have it's own little differences. There's nothing to worry about.

If it'll make you feel any better, I'm sure Hong Kong will treat you like shit too, if you're Asian. Unless you are from Hong Kong. I know a guy who's white, but married a girl from mainland China and they live went to Hong Kong. When the guy was by himself at restaurants and bars, they treat him like a king. They constantly trying to make him comfortable. They even offered him free drinks. When he had dinner with his wife, they were met with crappy service. They don't seem to like other Asians too, but I don't know how much truth there is to this. I am Chinese, but grew up in America. right now I'm working in China, and it is just strange. Xenophobia is very weird in that while people might hate you, you also get extra perks by being foreign. I'm told the African folks living there offer to help Chinese locals make police calls because the police gets here faster if they think a foreigner is in trouble. If it's a regular Chinese citizen, they'll take their time. I'm not saying this is necessarily a good thing, I just want to show how non-nonsensical xenophobia can be. What city do you live in? I'd love to make some new friends that I can talk to more fluently. Or hell, talk about Fire Emblem.

Why do people hate Awakening's story?
Illiterate Scholar replied to semolinaro's topic in Fire Emblem: Awakening
I want to add that I DETEST characters like Robin, Chris, and Korrin. I hate these narcissistic self inserts into the story. I'm still trying to decide who is the worst out of the 3 of them. I don't think I'd mind Robin as much if he was a regular pre-designed character. Also no POV FMV's. Plus, who is Grima? Is he Medeus? Did they just throw him into the story out of nowhere? Why connect it to FE3 if you're going to screw up the canon with this all new enemy? As everyone pointed out, the connection the Gaiden was incredibly lame. They could have saved it by showing us if only just the corpse of Doma so we know WTF it's suppose to be, that would have saved that section of the story. Even a skeleton of Doma. I don't care! I don't mind time travel to unit the 2 generations though. I thought that was a clever idea. FE4 already did the time skip. -
I'm not talking about any Fire Emblem in particular. I never understood how wins and losses are counted in the game. What counts as a loss? I thought dying is the only way to lose.

I think I would pick Amalda's route for your first play through. That route is less frustrating. The stupid forest area is annoying as hell. First, you get through the place at a crawl due to trees everywhere. Then you have these hidden teleport traps that'll wrap your characters to another section of the map, causing you to travel further. Then there are the dark forest areas that you can't pass through. It's really hard to see since they are only slightly darker than the regular trees. One of the worst maps in Fire Emblem IMO. Awful awful chapter.

Yeah, I always wondered about that. It feels like we're doing biology homework right now.

How do I use early game Healers Efficiently
Illiterate Scholar replied to Valkarian's topic in Fire Emblem
I'm the type that doesn't spam staves and promote healers later. It's not a big deal. You don't want them in the front line anyway. Mounted healers are great because they can move further so there's also that. -
My only advice to to pray to the RNG gods.

You already took this girl to the prom? Just ask her out and don't overthink it. All you need is to be confident, and don't take rejection too personal. There's no magic bullet to asking a girl out. None of us will know how she'll respond. No one can read minds. Hell, we know her less than you. Stand up straight, look her in the eye, and ask if she wants to go out with you. If she rejects you just say, ok cool, thanks anyway, and walk away. I'm not a casanova either, but I know for fact that when it works, it's really simple.

Clinical depression is no joke. I recommend OP to see a doctor if this continues. It's also true that everyone gets into that mood once in a while. You feel unmotivated and don't have any interest in doing things.

Fire Emblem Gaiden Name Update Patch (v0.9)
Illiterate Scholar replied to Gaiden Guy's topic in NES and SNES Era
Oh nice, I didn't know there was a new patch to Fire Emblem Gaiden! -
Which GBA Myrmidon/Swordmaster is your favorite?
Illiterate Scholar replied to Fire Emblem Fan's topic in GameBoy Advance Era
What about old Karel? He's nothing like young Karel. I know you don't get to use him much, but old Karel is a lot of fun to level up even if just for a tiny bit.
