  1. Norbert wasn't at all well-rested when he was awoken by Veronika. However, he forced himself up all the same, though in a groggy, half-aware state. As he opened Rizen's pen, exited and closed the gate behind himself, he simply gave the pegasus an affectionate pat on the snout. The red-haired swordswoman had already left -- and it was no wonder, what with the pegasus rider's sluggish trudging as he absently rubbed at his stinging, squinting eyes. When he made it to where the meeting was to be, he found most already gathered and so took a seat near his old teammates, Valter and Ranyin. He was more comfortable with them than with possibly anyone else in the group and that would not soon change. He also, presently, didn't remember that he was in another team. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Gytha had simply stayed by Amon and got a bit of a nap herself before following him to the dining hall and rejoined Synthia. Then, there was a brief summery of the battle's resulting losses and Weyland mentioned they had to decide what to do and how to do it quickly.
  2. Nothing is impossible when you have the edit function. I'm on a computer.
  3. "Aye, we stopped'em. Th' one with th' magic blade fled, but everyone else was killed, I think. I tore th' last one from his wyvern by th' lung meself. Didn't check t' see if I'd killed'im, though," Gytha answered before a sort of half-smile appeared on her face and she added half-seriously, half to lighten the mood, "Ye worry me too much. Stop gettin' stabbed." Then, there was some commotion getting close enough that Gytha paid it some mind. "By Leviathan he doesn't look like he enjoyed his dance," Gytha would have exclaimed had she more engery. Instead, she exclaimed more quietly. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Maw just continued to stalk the shadows in the halls of Weyland's mansion in hopes of finding something interesting to do or chase. She'd left the kitchen behind and was so looking for something else to use her time on. She'd slept most of the day so she wasn't tired and Gytha was always uninteresting when she was asleep, except as an extra source of warmth. She had to be wary about when the mariner would move in her sleep, though. Once she'd rolled onto the cat unexpectantly. Biting ensued.
  4. Even though it's less effort than?
  5. The female human was now observing her kills. A small part of Maw wondered if she was impressed. Another part of her felt the need to pounce. So, quietly, carefully, the silver tabby readied herself. Then, she leaped down onto the unsuspecting human, dugin her claws for traction, and in the next, lightning-fast movement, leaped off and sped away, a shadow amid the shadows of the room. And she was gone, like a phantom in the night, having not been seen except, perhaps, for a momentary flicker of silver, if watching eyes were quick enough to see even that.
  6. Norbert caught Weyland's words as he was leaving. Too bad that dark magic-user didn't hear him say that earlier... Well, at least we still have some hope, I guess. I don't know much about these people, but if we're going to go up against them...I need sleep. Well, powerful artifact out of the hands of dangerous people is always a good thing. I'll have to try to make that meeting, too. Probably important... Adreneline fading, Norbert found himself wandering somewhat aimlessly, hardly awake on his feet as he led his pegasus. Somehow he did manage to reach the stables, though. As soon as Rizen was stabled, he sat down in the corner of her stall and fell asleep. The day had been long and the night promised to be lengthy as well. He needed this. Rizen was glad she was able to stand guard over Norbert for now. She was getting better about him being away, but it was still comforting to see him well for herself. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "We could go talk t' Weyland, I guess," Gytha replied, supressing a yawn. Quite frankly, she just wanted to go lie down somewhere as sleep. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ From her vantage point, Maw's eye beheld the whole room as she lay atop the hanging fixture. Into this interesting place stepped a female human. For now, Maw would simply watch silently, as she had the upper paw. .... Litterally.
  7. "In other words, 'get as much sleep as you can while you can,'" Norbert grumbled. It had been a long, full day already and their group could use a good, long night's sleep. There was that meeting, too. "Someone wake me up in half an hour," Norbert requested in general before beginning to lead Rizen back outside. He figured she could use some rest too, after all. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ After climbing as high as she could, Maw crouched down, assessing the distance. Her jump would have to be perfect. Her muscles tensed, then she sprung. Her arms hugged the rim of the fixture as he hind paws dangled for a moment, causing a couple of the hanging pots and pans to fall and clatter to the ground. THen, she pulled herself up. Success. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "Easy, Amon. If ye feel dizzy, just stay down. Collapsin' again won't help anyone," Gytha advised, keeping crouched next to her friend.
  8. "I'm a little tired, but it's nothin' some rest won't fix," Gytha replied before asking Gabbie, "Ye think we should bring'im out t' th' others? Some o' them might be hurt, too." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ As she was investigating, Maw had successfully killed some containers with strong-smelling dust in them. Now the rare spices powdered the ground along with the vodka bottle she'd shattered earlier. She tried a bit of mint and decided she didn't like it so much, used a flourbag to maintenance her claws and was presently staring at a hanging fixture above one of the counters. Oh, she would make that jump. Then she would be in quite possibly the highest position in the room. It had to be accomplished. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ So, they would be meeting with the military again in half an hour. Thinking about it, there was some things he could do in the meantime, such as checking up on Ranyin and Valter or investigating the basement. That is, if he wasn't recruited for helping the wounded or something like that. And if he didn't have to stable Rizen. So, he simply asked Weyland. "How long are the mounts going to be allowed to wander about the mansion?"
  9. I read them too and you know it.
  10. "Aye," muttered Gytha as she saw to carefully setting Amon down. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ After she was satisfied with the portion of salmon, Maw decided to look around and investigate the kitchen some more. Gracefully leaping over various obsticles, she made her way over to some tall container with something that looked like water in it. It smelled terrible but was worth investigating. Prodding the bottle with her paw, she scooted it little by little until it fell off the counter and crashed against the floor. The noise was loud and sudden, causing Maw to dash away from the frightening sound and jumped into one of the open cabinets to hide. A moment later, she peeked out from where she rested atop a plate. On the ground was the glass and foul-smelling liquid. Maw let loose a small hiss at the thing. It had been very unpleasant and was better off dead, as it must have been at that moment. Maw had killed it and now it was dead. From her new vantage point, the tabby surveyed her surroundings. Curiosity gripped her yet again and she jumped to the next counter and began sniffing around for something else interesting.
  11. Gytha began following Gabbie as instructed. The basement? Didn't he mention before that that was where that Fallen was hiding? Actually, all of them. He mentioned not wanting the military to find them... Maybe I should ask some of these people about that old war the prince mentioned or warn them about that other prince coming to our borders. ... Nah, they wouldn't believe me. I'll just have to try getting as much information about how Wrath could wipe them out as I can. Not now, though, obviously. Norbert idly thought as he listened to the conversation between Weyland and the others.
  12. Ugh... She knows Raquel's surname. Thiiiis cannot end well... I guess saying Raquel's name wasn't such a good idea... Well, Weyland said it first, but... Darn it... Norbert inwardly agonized. Gytha felt her anger rising at the mention of killing infant dragons. However, she couldn't do anything about it with Amon on her back. Speaking of which, her question hadn't been answered yet. "Mr. Weyland, what should I do about Amon?" she repeated.
  13. "That's fine with me, I guess," Norbert replied, satisfied that he wouldn't go hungry. "Is there somewhere I can put Amon? He's kinda hurt," Gytha asked Weyland. She assumed they had a sick bay or something around here.
  14. "I already paid her back for the debts I had. Since I'm not getting income, there's no reason for me to keep the job. Cause like it or not, dragon-kissing boonies-dweller, that's what it is. No pay, no work. And leaving now that I don't have a job is the best thing I can do to feed myself," Norbert replied, actually more unamused than annoyed as he almost casually answered Robin. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The ham was awesome. But Maw was distracted again, wanting to try something she was more used to. And ther it was: a giant salmon. 50lbs or so. And so, she trotted over and began digging in.
  15. "What's so important about staying together if the whole reason we're here is gone? Frankly, I need income. If I can't feed myself doing this, I'm not going to help. It would be stupid," Norbert replied to Robin. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Having had enough of the turkey to satisfy, Maw turned her attention to other scents around the room. She was curious by nature of being a cat and she wasn't full yet, so she stalked over to some ham that had been left out and began gnawing on it. It was tastey, even if it was tough.
  16. Well, that was confirmation. "Great, so now we have to go out and look for her," Norbert complained, before adding with a thought, "if she's even worth looking for. Raquel's gone, so there's no pay coming in. Who knows if we can even get her back if they want her that badly..." This was beginning to look like a waste of time. "Whadaya mean 'if she's worth lookin' fer?' 'Course she is! She's our friend!" Gytha protested whilst still trying to be mindful of her other friend whom she was presently piggy-backing. "I'm not saying I want to leave her to those villains, I'm just trying to be realistic. I have to eat, you know. And besides that, we don't have anything more than a general direction they might have gone in and there will probably be more of them wherever they took Raquel. Do you really think we can manage that?" Norbert replied, frusterated at the situation.
  17. This news was both sudden and the last thing many of them were expecting. Norbert, himself, thought he'd misheard. "...Wait. What? I don't think I caught that. Did you just say that Raquel's been taken? As in kidnapped?" he asked. Gytha was likewise stunned, though she kept quiet since it hadn't really sunken in yet and she had a fainted ally on her back.
  18. Looks flyer-friendly to me. It's the sort of shirt that people with wings can wear so that their wings can flap effectively. Plus, I don't think the proportions look Barbie-style. I think they look realistic for someone who is athletic.
  19. The kitchen was busted up a bit and, luckily for Maw, some food had been left lying about. It was a treasure trove. The silver tabby first went to some fowel that had been left on a counter and began eating that. It was probably a turkey and it was absolutely delicious. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ As they walked, Gytha was careful to make sure Amon wasn't being jostled too much. As Norbert walked, Rizen followed behind him. Such was the detailed report given to the readers because there was so much to say.
  20. The mariner nodded and carefully hoisted the unconcious knife-user onto her back, holding his thighs just above his knees and leaning forward a little to ensure he wouldn't fall off as she carried him. Silently, she gave Veronika a look conveying that she was ready to start moving. Norbert quietly acknowledged what was going on, ready for when it was time to head inside again. He figued Rizen could just tag along. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Maw reached the mannor's kitchen...and no one was around. That was perfect -- it was just like a ship's galley, but much more to her liking, considering how clean it was. And so, her pillaging began, checking all over for some way to reach the meats stored there.
  21. Gytha didn't pay the military much attention. She was still wondering if they would be moving into the mannor. Veronika was probably the next-best leader to them after Raquel, so she was waiting on what she had to say. It didn't look like they've be moving their wounded quite yet, though, so she just stayed crouched over Amon. Oh great. Now the military's here? Norbert whined as he stepped forward to stand amongst the other group members. Rizen followed along. I hope whatever fell on my head didn't cause too much damage. It's pretty sore right now, and I'm not sure if the skin broke. Oh well. And so he lowered his arm to rest at his side. Looks like this was a tough fight I slept through... I could be worse off.
  22. Oh man, she's so cool! I would completely hang out with her.
  23. Maw, likewise, padded out of the room. This place was not safe. It had loud, sudden sounds and things falling. So, she decided to see about pestering those humans who gave her food again and headed towards the kitchen.
  24. @ upgraded crossbow: Well, how about that automatic crossbow Weyland made? I can't think of much that can be done to upgrade a crossbow in-rp besides that. Maybe the crossbow can be an upgrade from a slingshot? I'm not entirely serious about this, as you might be able to tell. I'd just accept the new crossbow as is. *shrug*
