Sounds interesting to say the least. Although I think it may work best that way for ranged attacks. Something like STR+MT up close and MAG+MT from afar. Magic or not it's still a weapon.

Boyd and I have a pretty good history. Some chapters he'll be a monster and some he just won't do anything right. All in all he's okay.

I didn't really use knights/generals when I played, but I'm gonna try to use 'em my next playthrough. I should have an answer by then.
