I'm assuming that at this point most have at least gotten 4* "Marth"? I wish I could get 5*, but I'm not up for inane loss grinding with my sub-par team. What does everyone think of he-him, i mean? Good bad or ugly?

    (worth the SI?)

    Basically what Guilty said.

Do you think Lucina's a good unit?

    There's your answer.

Oh, wow! I knew Ephraim and Eirika were good for buffing but...!! That's a lot of points! I bet it really trivializes a lot of the maps. I hope you're able to get more Reposition fodder, soon! Are you aiming for the 100k, or is it just ensuring you keep the feather rewards for your rank at this point (if you mentioned this earlier, I'm sorry for forgetting...so much info, so little my mind's seemingly absorbing :'D)?

I'm aiming for 100k, yeah. I might even keep playing after it (but not worry about points) just because it's such an efficient way to grind SP and HM! I already have three full rows of units with max HM, and I partially have the Tempest to thank for it :D (omg no stop it you have nothing to apologize for)

  3. @Luna of Dragonblood The team I run is Tharja, Ephraim, Nino, and Azura

Tharja and Nino are both Desperation blade tome units and can pretty reliably ORKO everything with an Ephraim buff

Ephraim has Hone Spd and the Fortify Res skill. Combined with his innate Siegmund attack buff, he gives both Tharja and Nino +12 attack (also +4 spd and +2 res) by himself just for standing next to him. He also has Swap to get them out of sticky situations if need be (I'd prefer Reposition, but I don't have any more fodder)

Azura is just there to make things go faster. The team setup I have lets me kill 2-3 units per turn, so most of the time it takes me 2-3 turns per map (depending on enemy placement and such).

@SniperGYS What do you use to record? I could potentially record a deathless run (or at least a run with just one team if not entirely deathless) with my team in case it helps anyone, but I'm not entirely sure how to on my iPhone.

Nah, Desperation 2 is perfectly fine. It's a teeny bit more annoying to get down to the correct threshold, so you might want to run Ardent Sacrifice instead of Draw Back (if you have the fodder for that), but it's still good enough to work with. I inherited Desperation 3 on my Tharja, but even before she had the SP to learn 3 she was doing incredibly well with 2.

I feel you re: Tharja vs. Veronica, mine isn't -RES but I run LaD on her so... LOL. Actually, giving my Tharja Desperation was what allowed her to ORKO Veronica properly, because she could then smash face without worrying about the counter. Veronica actually damn near one-shots Tharja, but never doubles her (iirc), so Veronica doubling isn't the problem; the issue at hand is securing the double so Tharja can kill her. Both Nino and Tharja nuke really well, so if Veronica is actually your main problem, you might want to think about giving Tharja Desperation instead of Nino so she can kill Veronica properly. Of course, giving it to both of them would be best, but if you're lacking the fodder and need a Veronica killer, Tharja does the job great! (Nino does too afaik, but she needs more boosts.)

/pats/ We can do this! Thank you and good luck to you too <3

@Luna of Dragonblood Desperation 2 should be just fine! I use both Nino and Tharja on my Tempest team, and I usually tank a hit with them to get them into Desperation range. More often than not, this takes me far below Desperation 3 range, especially if I was fighting an archer rather than a mage, and I would have been just fine with Desperation 2. Of course 3 will always be more reliable for fringe cases, but I think you'll still be okay.

Good luck to both of you on the trials! You're both so close to the good rewards, just gotta push a little farther! :D

If actual numbers help either of you with planning stuff:

Lunatic Veronica has 66 HP, 32 Spd, and 29 Res

    • This means that a red mage (like Tharja) would need at least 52 attack to ORKO
    • A green mage (like Nino) would need at least 62 attack to ORKO
    • Both need at least 37 speed, but that shouldn't really be a problem for either of them

These numbers may seem overwhelming, but the bonus damage from buffs really adds up. Most of the time, just standing next to my Ephraim is enough for my Nino to ORKO Veronica.

I have two Bridal Lyn's... Bridal Lyn #1 is +Res -Def and Bridal Lyn #2 is +Spd -Atk.

I plan to use her as a support healer with her default skill set, and possibly the A-slot skill that raises HP (HP +5). Which boon/bane should I keep?

    +Spd

More doubles, more survivability (because you're doubled by fewer things) (and because you aren't -Def)...what's not to like?

-Atk is honestly the ideal bane for a healer anyways unless you're running Wrathful Staff since you don't really care about dealing damage, just surviving.

I guess that is what it is, and considering that I don't even have Lucina, it would make worth using.

Also, I'm sorry if my question was dumb. I am nowhere near as knowledgeable of this game as others are. And I hope my question didn't come across as me accusing that she was bad, it was just a genuine question because I didn't know

    Oh, no, you're fine!

I should have also used a less belligerent tone to not give off the impression that I thought your question was dumb. I guess I've been annoyed about all the people complaining about her not coming with any skills, but you weren't complaining, just asking a genuine question.

    I don't understand Masked Marth...

She doesn't come with skills? Is there something good about her that I'm missing, because wouldn't a character you have to sacrifice other characters to get  ANY skill whatsoever make her not worth using?

She has the same base stats of neutral Lucina and Falchion, which already makes her potentially one of the best red units in the game.

Coming with no skills is hardly an issue at all since a good chunk of units replace most of their base kit for their optimal skill sets anyways. Masked "Marth" is almost exactly as expensive to build as a regular Lucina since regular Lucina would want Fury/Life and Death for her A-slot (which she doesn't come with and would have to inherit), Swordbreaker/Desperation/Renewal for her B-slot (which she doesn't come with and would have to inherit), and some assist still (which she doesn't come with and would have to inherit). If you use Lucina instead of Masked Marth you save SP and fodder for...what? Luna? Big whoop.

"Marth" having no starting skills honestly barely makes her any different at all from most other units. It only looks more discouraging and expensive to build her when it really isn't actually.

TBH i think they should open up Wary Fighter to all units, but even that wouldnt stop Reinhardt from killing everything left and right with this new Seal. Dont get me wrong i abuse Rein myself but those Brave-Tomes are kinda getting out of hand (especially Reinhardt). Maybe they release a passiv at some point tied to some stat that prevents any form of doube/quadruple attacks and just limits the attackign unit to 1 attack. Prolly on B-Slot and tied to HP as a % check (so you cant abuse Vantage or Quickriposte together with it).

I mean a 5Star Reinhardt with no + and ATK+ - RES IV, Death Blow 3, Lance Breaker 3 and the new seal wins against 92 5 Stars +10 with Fury as their A slot skill... If thats not broken i dont know what is lol

Give him Horse Emblem buffs and it goes up to 116 wins against all 5Star+10 Units using Fury.

Giving Wary Fighter to all units makes no difference at all to a Reinhardt. The only thing that WF does is prevent Reinhardt from quad attacking, and he's too slow to do that anyways. Any kills he gets he gets within two hits, making Wary Fighter absolutely worthless against Reinhardt.

Reinhardt aside though, I suppose it would still stop units like Cordelia or Olwen, who do rely on quad hits for a lot of their kills.

Brave Lance Est actually costs more than Cordelia to min-max, sadly, because Cordelia starts with Brave-Lance+, meaning you don't have to dump 20k feathers just to change a weapon.

That said, a budget regular Brave-Lance build is quite usable, out-done by the best lance user in the game, but quite good anyway.

Perhaps I should have used a different word besides "discount". My point was that she's a worse Cordelia, not a cheaper one.

Anybody got some general advice for builds for a 5* Jeorge? I don't have his IVs since I started training him before I cared enough to look them up and he's not level 40 yet, so I'm just looking for a general idea.

Hands down his deadliest set (assuming resources are not an issue) is Brave Bow + Life and Death + Luna

I would also consider either Swordbreaker (or Lancebreaker if your team has no issues taking down swords) or Desperation for his B slot

Assist and C-slots are flexible are largely dependent on personal preference and team composition, rather than the individual unit itself. I generally advise a movement assist (such as Reposition) and a team aura (like a Hone, Fortify, or Spur skill) for the C-slot.

So if Threaten skills are you beating an enemy at a staring contest to lower their stats, what are Ploy skills? Like you're so terrifyingly powerful that low Res units can detect you from a distance?

Katarina has the same attack and speed as Tharja, with the only difference being that Tharja has more HP and def while Kat has considerably more res. As such, I'm not sure exactly where you're getting the idea that "Tharja and Celica are still better". Unless you're referring only to base skill sets and not taking skill inheritance into consideration? In which case, yes I'd agree that vanilla Tharja and Celica are better than vanilla Katarina.

Tried pulling for Roderick and got +Spd/-Def Mae and +Hp/-Atk Clair instead. Are these two any good? I heard good stuff about Mae and a bit hyped for her since I finally have a representative from Rite of Shadows (Fed Genny away sob sob) but Clair, not so much.

Mae is bae, especially with a blade tome <3

So, I had decided to throw a few orbs at the new banner to see if I could get Roderick (he looks cool and I always like more cavs). I pulled Shanna for the first time, and she's 4 star. She's got Iceberg, which I'd like to give to Nino. But she also has Desperation which could be handy on Nino too. Vantage was also an option I was considering for her, and I have Gordin who can give it to her.

But both of those require the unit to take damage. And someone like Nino really doesn't want to be taking damage at all and SHOULDN'T be taking damage. I'm going to give her Iceberg, that's a definite, but are Desperation or Vantage okay options?

Desperation is actually hands-down Nino's best B-skill. It is a bit risky since you need to tank a hit (or use Ardent Sacrifice or Fury recoil), but after that she becomes unstoppable.

Nino with Desperation is the primary reason I can get deathless runs in Lunatic Tempest since once she's in Desperation range she can essentially solo the maps herself with a few buffs.

One more thing for anyone on Team Cinnamon Roll Elise, put someone with Hone Cavalry (or at least a cavalry unit to receive Hone Cavalry) as your rep. Let's Horse Emblem the crap out of everyone else.

Would you prefer a Hone Cavalry Xander or a Fortify Cavalry Reinhardt?

Because I'm sure as hell fighting for my precious cinnamon roll even if I don't have her.
