  1. :c Mine at least runs Darting Blow 3 over Fury so she doesn't continue to take non-lethal damage the entire run. Tharja now pulls her weight enough even while not at level 40 to take some of the load off, and as a bonus, I don't mind leaving her on the brink of death. Also condolences to poor Veronica who has been beaten up countless times over the last few days for orbs, seals, and other rewards...We're the good guys, right?
  2. What I would have expected. How out of character, but I suppose you can't lose fights if you don't pick them. Still going to give it a go for the sake of variety.
  3. That much bladetome goodness sounds intoxicating...as long as I can keep the right formation which is a healthy challenge I suppose. Forgoing the healer I've used thus far feels kinda iffy though. I realize that Nino and Tharja prefer being in desperation mode anyway but my prevailing strategy has involved lots of baiting. How much fighting does Ephraim contribute to your runs? Or does he stick to serving as mascot?
  4. He indeed has Hone Spd 3 for his C skill and the Fortify Res 1 seal with Siegmund. He does have Rally Defense learned but I've been enjoying the usefulness of Swap for positioning. And it turns out my Tharja is actually +Hp/-Atk so I need to toss in Ninian with Fortify Def 2 to make the numbers work perfectly according to the calculator on Kagerochart. And since a dancer is a good partner anyway it's all good. Now I need a solid 4th unit for this fun alternate team.
  5. Also valid reasoning. Would you say the added stakes make the event more fun or dreadful? That is pleasant news. Here's a perfect excuse to finally build her. I already run Ephraim for a +12 and Nino could use a break. All I have to do is sack Navarre for Desperation 2...because I'm out of Shanna's. Sitting at 42,000 myself. A nice ego-boost if nothing else.
  6. I'm pretty sure that at some point, it's better score-wise to just surrender and take in a fresh team. However, I commend the perseverance and would rather sacrifice my speed score over my pride. Trials wouldn't be as good without battles like the one you describe. I need to get around to building Tharja sometime...but all I have is a 4* with a meh asset/flaw.
  7. It's been so long that I forgot that I posted here. Fun excuse to go detective-ing to piece together who I got and when to update the little spreadsheet I've made. I'm doubtful anyone really cares, but here are my 5* units: Didn't realize till now that about a third were new in the last month/month-and-a-half.
  8. Most likely the fact that we've been fortunate enough or playing long enough to have a variety of strong units at our command. I, personally, have a RGB core, one of which is a bonus unit, that features a busted bladetome and bring a healer along for utility. I'm sure that with continued dedication you can be right alongside us for the next one!
  9. Just had a run where I got outplayed by Beruka's Lunge combined with Wings of Mercy Gunter to snipe Nino with exactly enough damage to kill her. I'm still picking up the pieces of my shattered little mind. Also had only one run where the Leo in the final map overpowered Nino to my surprise. This one had over 50 attack unlike most of them so that's what I get for being presumptuous.
  10. I'm on pace to get all of the rewards so I'll stop when I'm assuredly within the top 5000...hopefully. I don't plan to burn all of my stamina pots but I'm far from needing to. At this point I'm conflicted on whether I want to train the 5*Masked Marth or consider building the -Spd Lucina that's contributed her part in getting this far in the Trials. Probably both eventually.
  11. Really hoping they make the full L&D chain available at 4* eventually because I'm really hesitant to spend that many feathers for one skill. I'm also out of fury fodder and have stopped pulling to hoard orbs so this is probably going to be a backburner project. I've pulled exactly one Klein since launch but I don't want to sack him immediately. Instead they've both been running Atk+2 from the many 3*Cherche that I've pulled. At least this event will give her a nice sum of sp to work with and I know it will pay off.
  12. I'll have to look into this build then when I run into the right fodder. Unfortunately my one and only Olwen is -Spd so I'd have to settle for a potential 40 instead. Still waiting to pull a 4* Gunter to get Horse Emblem up and running but a Goad and two Wards have been sufficient to show me how much those skills rock.
  13. Aside from the Lucina that I unbenched and my dynamic duo of Ephraim and Nino, I'm going to sing my praises for Priscilla for providing amazing utility with healing, a +6 defense spur, and chip damage with an inherited Pain staff. She even soloed a 70 hp Effie, 1 damage and 10 chip at at time. What else is that Olwen running? That looks amazing.
  14. The exact team that I'm using in Tempest Trials to great success is Ephraim, Nino, Lucina, Rehabilitate (more specifically Priscilla) so to me that looks like the easiest team that you can build with a bit of inheritance. If you have the correct units to use I'd also inherit positioning skills on the one's you use a lot. It helps immensely with keeping people safe after attacking or moving to a more advantageous position. I run Swap on Ephraim but Reposition is also a popular one. Jaffar would probably like having units that are fast but not as strong as teammates but needs to be careful with taking damage. Camila and Olwen come to mind. As someone has said a dancer is helpful.
  15. Like many seem to agree, this is the exact kind of event the game has been lacking for a while. It's very cathartic to be able to use more than just one main team for everything. That being said, by now those with a strong core will have probably have the event figured out which tilts the event more towards tedium than challenge. At least it's more fun to grind towards a tangible reward than nothing.
  16. Sort of wish I'd saved a Barst for Lucina to inherit from. I'm having to make due with Draw Back and two Swaps, but I'm seeing way more situations where reposition would be preferred, especially on the last map of Lunatic. Despite that and the -Spd Lucina I'm using as a bonus, I'm well on track to hitting all of the reward tiers. Loving this event though burnout is a concern. My current blue mage collection consists of Odin, a couple of Robins, Reinhardt, and Olwen and only the last two have been built to any degree. Aside from not fitting my main team comp, they also struggle to wall mages that can double them. I do have Clair though she's neutral but I'm not willing to sacrifice Ephraim's utility for one type/color matchup. Fortunately all of the L&D mages in Arena have trained me for this scenario.
  17. I'm in the same boat. Between Lancebreaker Ephraim and Nino I have no trouble with the flier map. But everytime I see a Celica or Tharja come round 6 or 7 I'm practically stepping on eggshells. What are common solutions to red mages that aren't Reinhardt or Triangle Adept? The former is a catch-all solution to everything and I've never pulled Roy. Thus far, I've just had to make sure they don't initiate on me or that my red unit is willing to take a hit.
  18. Good job! It's nice to see how players are adapting to the seemingly daunting challenge that the Trials have tossed at us. Have physical wall given the team any trouble or is B!Cordelia + Dancers enough to overpower everything?
  19. Counting only 5* units that I pulled and aren't neutral, my most common Boon is actually +Atk with 5/11 of my units having it (but I only use 3 with any frequency). Most common Bane is speed with 4/11 having it with defense right behind it at 3/11. All in all I'd say my luck is quite good. And as dusting off -Spd Lucina for Tempest Trials has taught me, banes don't matter if you have a buffer and/or magic carry.
  20. Nope for me as well. In fact, I don't have anyone on the Hero Fest banner despite my meager attempts. Looks like we've got enough people for a club. On topic, my last pull was a 4*Merric. Good nature though. And that gauntlet is coming soon I suppose.
  21. Have been making some modest attempts at Ike throughout my day and I can't say I'm disappointed. I don't have him as of yet, sadly, but I have obtained a plethora of other reds with good asset/flaw combos, probably as consolation. I've pulled today: 3* Raigh +Spd/-Hp 3* Fir +Atk/-Res 3* Hinata +Atk/-Spd 3* Selena +Atk/-Hp 4* Raigh Neutral 4* Marth (!) +Spd/-Hp 4* A!Tiki +Atk/-Hp At this point I'll even give Raigh a chance at glory. Maybe he'll even be decent at 4* +10 cause Naga knows that's where my summon luck is taking me.
  22. My two cents, but I haven't been a fan of the "Echoes" part of the title from day one. It makes the title sound clunkier and it looks like a goofy last-minute addition on the logo. I wouldn't like a remake sub-series to be called "Echoes" and hope that it is indeed just to sound "cool" by the developers. The logo is probably one of if not the biggest contributing factors to the remake speculation. The internet doesn't need much of a spark to be set ablaze in speculation.
  23. I was under the impression that preparation is done during turn 1 of battle. That means no separate screen or menu and no special music. This is probably the best way to implement preparations without breaking flow for players who don't care or want to waste time.
  24. I've only found shards useful for power leveling inheritance fodder. Like others have said, not like actually leveling to 20 is difficult. You even lose out on SP doing that.
  25. It was funny that Miracle didn't even get a chance to properly activate since the user was brought to 1hp already. CD was still 0 when the finishing blow was delivered. Got way more excited about this than was probably reasonable.
