As of May 7, it's sold 169,154 units in retail(source) and sold through 80% of its initial shipment which I posted about in another topic. It's sold more than this, as the numbers don't count digital downloads. As for US/European preorders, we don't have any data for that, but it's currently the best selling 3ds game on amazon.

Ah, it seems that I was unsuccessful in trying to keep this thread on topic. Oh well, maybe when the game finally releases people can create a topic about changes where they can complain.

If you all want to complain about localization choices and fear-mongering about games that don't even exist yet while having zero knowledge about localization: sure, fine. Whatever. But do it in a topic other than this one, please.
Honestly, I made this topic because some people get so touchy and purist about the series, and convinced themselves that new fans were icky weirdos who only cared about the series because of ""waifu"" features. Most of y'all have some kinda persecution complex going on, that even stuff like this game selling completely within expectations is just a new reason to complain.

Here. I figured that I would post this here since some people seemed to be worrying that it was under-performing, and that it would mean the end of the series or something. Pretty sure it's performing exactly to expectations.

So, thinking on how the newer games had different features between story chapters, with Awakening allowing you to free-roam the world map, and Fates letting you build a customizable fort, which one would you prefer(not which one you think will happen) for the new switch game?
Personally, while the fort feature in Fates had a lot of potential, I ultimately felt that it was kind of pointless, and I would want some major changes in how it works if it came back. I much preferred zooming about on the world map in Awakening, especially since that gave me some idea of where all the different countries are.
So what about you guys? What would you prefer to happen?

Oh yeah, the Japanese website also updated, but it was just a short clip of the dungeon exploration, nothing we haven't seen before. Not enough new stuff to warrant making a new thread.

I'm pretty sure this plays at the end of the longer video. But re-watching it now I can see that Celica faces a harpy-like enemy in her dungeon. I wonder if it's a new class of monster or just a redesign of an older one...

You can see Tatiana's map sprite in one of the battles, so for the people worried about Zeke, he's most likely still in. They can't reveal everyone at once, so they're probably saving him for later to build the anticipation.

Same here. I'll probably check the board once in April to see if there are any weird recruitments/things to watch out for, and then not check the boards anymore. I have more fun when I can decide how I like a game for myself.

Also, did anyone notice that Berkut has no scratches on his armor? Makes sense with him being a prince/royalty and therefore probably wouldn't see much action in the battlefield.
I mean the real reason is probably that the artist thought any armor would get in the way of showing off her cute dress, but it doesn't really matter. Just an observation.
Also, I feel that Berkut/Whatshisname probably doesn't have any scratches on his armor because he can afford to replace old armor, being a noble and all. But it could be like you said, and either way it's probably meant to contrast with the other characters.

Yeah, I noticed it in the new art thread too. It's pretty neat, and takes character into account, with Valbar's the most banged up because he's older and an ex-soldier and Kliff's has no scratches because he's a rookie. (Faye doesn't get any armor I guess.)
I like it.

I really like the new designs, especially Genny and Leon. Also, a neat little detail that I've noticed is that the characters with armor(Alm, Lukas, Clive, and Valbar) have scratches on their armor. It makes the characters look like they've worn and fought in that armor before, and it's nice that the artist went into that much detail.

So I was looking on amazon japan, seeing if there were any new screenshots, and I came across this: 弓の射程が1～3マスと長く、戦略上、重要な存在に
I'm obviously not fluent in Japanese, or I'd be more sure, but it automatically translated to something along the lines of "The bow's range is 1-3 squares, which is strategically important." Can anyone fluent confirm this?

Ah, no, sorry, the way I worded it must have been misleading. Amazon has a section where you can see what is currently the bestselling product for the hour. It doesn't show you what the bestselling games of all time are, just what people are buying right now. I only mentioned it because Echoes has been on the top of the list for a while now. Admittedly, it doesn't really mean anything because that could mean it sells 7 more copies compared to the second highest, or 700 more.
