  1. So as I'm extremely bored, I decided that I'd go through what screenshots we have, and see what the strengths and weaknesses of each character are. I've put the images in spoilers below the character they relate to in order to reduce the length of the post. Also, keep in mind that what we see may not be final.

    Black Eagles:

Edelgard: Appear to start with an E+ in swords, a D in axes, a D in authority, and a D in armor. On her tutoring page, we can see that swords, axes, and authority are listed as strengths (armor isn't visible), while bows and faith magic and weaknesses. She has three stars next to reason magic, which suggest that she will gain a skill in it if you train her enough.

Hubert: The screenshot we have of his stats appears to be from later in the game, so I can't determine what is ranked higher. But his strengths appear to be bows, reason, and authority, while his weaknesses are axes, faith, and flying. He also has three stars next to lances, which when filled in will let him acquire the Ice Javelin combat art.

Dorothea: Appears to start with a E+ in swords and a D in reason. Swords and reason are listed as strengths, while faith magic and flying are weaknesses. Faith magic has three stars next to it, which we know when filled up will grant her White Magic Avoid +20.

Ferdinand: Appears to start with an E+ in swords, a D in lances, a E+ in axes, and a D in riding. Riding, axes, swords,  and lances are all strengths.

Petra: Appears to start with a D in swords and a D in flying. Flying appears to be a strength.

Linhardt: Appears to start with an E+ in reason and a D in faith. Reason and faith are both listed as strengths. Axes and fighting are both weaknesses.

Bernadetta: Heavy Armor appears to be a strength of hers, yet her rank starts out at E, which is unusual.

    Blue Lions:

Dimitri: Appears to start with a E+ in swords, a D+ in lances, a D in authority, and a D+ in riding. Swords, lances, and authority are listed as strengths, while axes and reason are listed as weaknesses.

Dedue: Appears to start with an E+ in lances, a D+ in axes, an E+ in fists, and a D in armor. His strengths appear to be lances, axes, fists and armor, while his weaknesses are faith, riding, and flying. Interestingly, he doesn't appear to have a three-star symbol anywhere on his page.

Felix: Has a strength in swords, bows, and fighting. His weaknesses appear to be reason and authority. He has three stars next to reason, so he will most likely learn a special skill once you raise his rank in that area.

Ingrid: Appears to start with a D in swords, a D in lances, and an E+ in faith.

    Golden Deer:

Nothing concrete yet, but if Claude is like the other lords, he'll have a E+ in swords, a D+ in bows, and a D in authority. It is also possible that he will start with a higher rank in flying, to mirror that Edelgard starts off with a high rank in armor and Dimitri starts off with a high rank in riding.

    Bonus:

Byleth: Has a D+ in swords, an E+ in fists, an E+ in faith, and a D in authority. However, it is likely that you will be able to choose what Byleth strength's will be, as one of Dorothea's screenshots show that she gets a teacher bonus from Byleth in axes. Though Byleth may always has a strength in swords.

If I've missed anything, or if anyone has any better suggestions for how to organize this, please tell me.

  2. So tomorrow should be Hilda, and the weekend should be Hanneman. If the pattern sticks, we'll probably get a boy from Black Eagles, a girl from Blue Lions, and a dude from Golden Deer.  The weekend after will maybe be the guy that's been seen with Rhea, considering that we haven't been introduced to any characters we haven't seen beforehand.

If we continue at the current rate, we'll be done introducing the starting students about 5 weeks before the game is out, and about a week after E3.

  3. So Nintendo has a special deal going on where members subscribed to their online service can buy game vouchers for $99.99 that will allow them to redeem digital versions of two select games, and Three Houses is one of them. The deal lasts until July 31, and game vouchers can be redeemed for up to 365 days after they're purchased. A list of games eligible can be found here. (For some reason, the regular list doesn't list Three Houses).

If you plan to purchase Three Houses digitally and have another game in mind that you'd like to buy, this might be worth a shot. I recommend against buying Warriors with this deal though, as you can easily buy it for cheaper.

  4. Speaking of thieves, I wonder how early in the game you'd need one. We saw a chest in one of the early-game chapters, but one of the enemy units could end up dropping a key for it. But considering that thieves seem to be a tier-2 class this time around, you'd first have to promote a character into say, a myrmidon, and then promote them again into a thief. I could easily see people accidentally missing some chests because they didn't promote someone to a thief in time. (I'm assuming that locktouch will be a Class skill of the thief class and maybe some of its "promotions". )

Or maybe there are some chests that will be missable during your first playthrough, but New Game+ bonuses allow you open the chests this time around, and they contain some strong weapons that let you get through the battles easier if you want so you can focus on the story. Though I kinda doubt they'd have the missable chests, but a New Game+ feature that keeps your instructor levels would be neat....

  5. Oh, I really like Manuela's design. I hope we can recruit her relatively early on. Tomorrow we'll maybe get the profile for the green-haired guy we saw next to Rea or the mustached teacher.

Though I was expecting Manuela to be the teacher of one of the classes that you don't pick, not the school nurse. Speaking of, I wonder if they'll have pre-set characters that teach the classes that you don't pick. Like, will each house each have a unique teacher character that only appears in the routes where you don't choose their house?

Is Lorenz even a retainer? Because I don't believe I saw anything that says so really.

No, nothing in his profile suggests that he's Claude's retainer. If anything, going by Lorenz' dialogue and his status as a noble of a non-ruling house, he'd be more like Claude's rival. People are just assuming he's a retainer because Hubert and Doudou were also introduced this week, and they were servants/retainers of the house leaders.

  7. I've said it before, but just so everyone's clear: The website said that they would continue to release information about the game in Weekly Famitsu (which is the name of the magazine),  and some people misinterpreted it as, "We will continue to release information weekly, in Famitsu."

  8. You know, with Rea's hair styled the way it is, we can't see if her ears are pointed or not... Her hair and eyes are also a more muted version of Sothis'. I definitely think there's some connection between the two. Possibilities:

    1. Sothis is Seiros, the goddess the Church worships, and Rea is her clone/a magical copy of her.

    2. Sothis and Rea are two halves of the goddess Seiros split into two people, which could explain Sothis' memory loss.

    3. Rea and Sothis are both related/connected to Seiros, but neither are her.
