Soo, the next banner is upon us!
What do you guys think? Celica banner this time around? Or will Nintendo put a hold on that to coincide with some Echoes release date?

Believe it or not, what gives me the most trouble is Caster&Dancers teams. Like Nino/Julia, Robin/Lucina and a dancer. I rarely lose the matchups, but having a character wrecked dumps my score... Those blue mages are specially troubling, because my only green unit is Fae, and she targets RES.
I really need to adapt to this post-lance meta I'm facing... (c'mon, IS, put some green on those banners, will you?)

I also beat it with repositioning shenanigans. I'm my case it was my usual Fae+Leo duo. They actually nearly soloed(duoed?) the map, the other two just took care of one of the mages (but I don't even know it that was really necessary).
Well... it's time to train Zeph now (and wonder wether or not to pull from his sweet banner. If not for freddie...).

I also pulled a 5* on my first summon this season! I popped a red orb, and, as soon as I saw the little intro video showing a little bit of green hair and blueish garments, I thought it was Alm for sure... aaaand it was Lyn :)
I did three full summons today and I got a 5* in each of them. Grabbed a Lyn (+def, -hp), an Alm (+res,-hp) and a Merric (+atk,-res). From now on I'm calling April 18th 'Green Hair Day'

Yeah, the description I read was that it prevented countering altogether, from both user and enemies.

I think firesweep prevents the unit from countering too, so it would probably nullify close counter. My bet is the bow will only shine on glasscanon Life and Death builds.

Firesweep Bow and Bow Experience are obviously Faye's because Faye is the only bow-user.
The only other new datamined skills are Windsweep (when initiating combat against a physical weapon user, prevents own follow-up attack and prevents opponent from counterattacking entirely when own Spd exceeds opponent's Spd by 5/3/1), Fortress Def (+3/4/5 Def, -3/3/3/ Atk), and Hit and Run (Lunge without changing the target's position). It's anyone's guess who has what and what pre-existing skills they'll have in addition.
Hmm, I saw the promotional video now just now, and it also showed:
Alm has Dragon Gaze
Clair has no special
Lukas has a special that doesn't trigger when attacking (probably a defensive one)
Faye has DaylightSo I'd say Faye's skillset is only lacking one extra skill to be completely guessable. We still lack info for the others.
Update: In the video, it looks like Clair uses a Silver Lance and Lukas a Brave one. -

Do we know each characters skills yet? I gather people managed datamine the new skills, but, as far as we know, windsweep could be, like, Clair's, or even Lukas, right? I'm guessing only Firesweep Bow has an obvious owner.
This banner just got a load more interesting. I'm definetely burning some (a lot) orbs. -

Agreed. That's why I'd bet on quantity over quality. It seems wiser to have 8 Echoes characters (let's say Alm banner and Celica banner) with good art and voices, some of which may even be later demoted to 3*~ 4* summons, than just dump an overly powerful banner on us.

Indeed a gauntlet would be fitting for the release too. I just hope they do it sooner than June ;)

I'm not even voting cus I don't understand the question. I'm Brazilian. Every weather is shorts weather.
(There's even this new trend nowadays where the groom marries wearing 'formal-ish' shorts)

I'm pretty sure there will be a Gaiden banner somewhere this month. If not right on the next banner rotation, at most one week after that, during an event or somesuch.
If I had to bet, I'd bet on the next rotation being another double devotion, fully dedicated to Gaiden, followed by lots of Echoes material/quests/events and free orbs. It's just too much of a marketing opportunity for them to pass it up. -

Well, flags are available to everyone, right? So I think the only difference with the addition of more flags is that actually having the gauntlet character in your roster matters more now (since you get the bonus multiplier many more times). But indeed, that skews my data in favor of my Camilla run, since I didnt have Ephraim on the first gauntlet (that was the best I could do with the data I have, though).

Totally not trying to one up CamillaYeah, I guess this will all change along with peoples perceptions of rewards (if everyone starts saving, it will be harder to get good results on the last round, surely). But I don't think both gauntlets are all the different overall. I only meant that, even though it's doable to get "the best rewards" going rogue, as of now, it's much more simple (you need little data analyzing) to get them going with the flow, even if you don't play all that much.

Well, I decided to try both routes to see if bandwaggoning worked in terms of feather optimization.
In the first gauntlet I chose team Ephraim and did a balanced aproach, spending a little amount of flags every round. Net feathers in the end were about 6500~ (two wins, one loss, no Ephraim to boost my points, lots of playing)
This time around I chose team Camilla from the start and saved all my flags for the last round, and, if the gauntlet ended right now, i'd have 8600 feathers (three wins, Camilla boost, lots of playing only in the last round).
So yeah, bandwaggoning works very nicely if you have the most popular character from the gauntlet, and - even though I still think it's possible to reach close to it's rewards going with some dark horse, you'd need a lot of planning. Choosing the winner from the start and saving your flags seems like the most simple and effective strategy, sadly. -

By the way, many thanks for some Jenn - that I'm pretty sure is from Serenes. I've been using his Carrot!Xander every third round of the battles and it made my life much easier. That character is a monster (I've been pulling either him or one of a couple of Hectors. Holy crap. You sir, are brilliant (and a monster).My matchups in this gauntlet have been pretty easy. I'm thinking the system really punishes you for having high BST. I'm going with a 40+ 4*Camilla and I'm seeing a lot of healers and low-leveled characters on the enemy teams. In the first gauntlet I played with 5*Nowi and oh boy... there were so many fully leveled Hectors and Takutrash I had an urge to scream.

I agree with a lot of the rants I heard, but, IMO, none beats Lachesis.

Well... Leo and Serra, I'd say. If pulling what you like is what counts, my pulls have been really bad =/
But it's partly my fault, I like hoarding orbs a bit too much. The only time I went all out was trying desperatly to pull Eldigan or Sanaki. (it didn't work). After that, the only banner that interested me was Jaffars - but, as he came buried under 2 other colorless trash, I've had no pulling since.
I've been loving the GHB tough. Pretty much the characters I like to train have been coming through these ;)

I hope so! I'd say Camilla x Minerva was the only way we could hope for a thrilling finals in this gauntlet. It's really nice that the pairings made it possible.

Yeah it probably wouldn't even leave a dent in Camilla's following...at this point I'm wondering if all the Cordelia fans burned all their flags, and Camilla fans used 1/10th of their flags, if Camilla would still win? What's she at right now anyway in terms of score?

I agree. I don't think we have enough information to say that bandwagoning is the problem either.
They way I see it, bandwagoning may come to be a problem is the last round of the gauntlets, as people may not care about either character and just bet on the rewards, having access to info about their earlier performances and all.Camilla and Lucina doing great is just
sadlyexpected. I'd say the gauntlet is almost great as it is, IMO, they just need to raise the difference in feathers between placing low and high in the characters ranking, making it more rewarding to go with less popular characters (or maybe give some extra battle flags to losers or something like that). -

Anyway, I could try it, but I still don't think it'll make a big difference. If anything, I feel like it'll make me surrender more battles because I'll find that it won't be possible for my units to defeat all of the opponent's.
A character that has a lot of blue is certainly easy to find. But me? I'm waiting for an all purple "Jagen Forest".

I surely hope so. All this time I thought the Celica banner was coming next, but really, the western release date for Echoes is so close to the eastern one this time around they might just save it untiil then.
Meanwhile, I'm with the people screaming for more Magvel, Jugdral and Tellius. Personally, I'd like to see more archers in the game (preferrably with cool abilities, basic archers are somewhat boring atk/spd machines), and also spear users and axes
spear wyverns and axe knights.I'm hoping we get to see some of Titania, Duessel, Shinon, Innes, Altena, Travant and/or Arion sometime soon
