Firstly, OP, you're wrong, those won't be the three games used. Tellius will be used too, because Koei said they wanted to use Ike.

So the three will likely be Tellius, Elibe, and FE Switch.

Secondly, HW and HW Legends didn't even use every Zelda game either. Thet Four Sword and Oracle games were left out. So yeah, this is obvious.

    Listen, man.

I'm just tired of people saying stupid stuff like "THE SEQUEL BETTER REPRESENT EVERY FE GAME. ALL OF EM."

    It's dumb.

It's an unrealistic expectation created by people who know nothing about Warriors games, or game development in general.

Are you talking about that one puzzle in Chapter 4 where you have to go to a specific door based on the monitors? Because I'd rather them change that puzzle entirely in a port, honestly.

Anyway, a Switch port of TMS is one of those things I don't mind happening, but probably won't happen because of the game's sales. If it does, I want Smile Smile to actually be in the game. No I don't care that Itsuki's not a performer, it's a great song.

    I mean.

Low initial sales hasn't stopped Atlus before.

That's good. Guess all the negativity was for naught.

    It always was.

Man, 2017 has really renewed my faith in peoples ability to not support bad games, and to go to quality instead. First Andromeda bombed, then MvC:I sold like 2 copies, then games like Persona 5, Nier: The Automata, Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony, Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Cupman, and flippin' MARIO + RABBID'S did well.

    What a timeline.

    Yay, more leaks!

Interesting stuff. How well known was the Fates/Awakening artist before those games?

As for the earlier stuff - and this is something I've been meaning to get off my chest for a while - I think the pre-Fates weapon triangle and three magic types are plausible because of Heroes, which took bows and daggers back out of the weapon triangle and added three colours of magic instead of just one. Granted, the latter may have just been to diversify the mage lineup, but I think the former is something to keep in mind at the very least.

Kozaki was mostly known for doing the No More Heroes' designs.

I don't think there's much sense in trying to predict which games would be featured in a sequel. There could be two original FE games released before we get a FEW2, and that would throw everything off balance.

    I dunno, man.

Gundam Warriors 2 came out 1 year after the first game.

We might not even get a sequel!

I think that a sequel is likely at this point.

I'm more concerned with how much of the existing cast would carry over. I imagine the important ones (Marth, Caeda, Chrom, Robin, Lucina, Corrin, Xander, and Ryoma) might stay and they'll cut out some of the others to make room since ideally, you want to build on this, not start anew.

Warriors games don’t cut out other characters.

    They reuse em’ all.

Agreed that it's doubtful it would cover the rest of the series. Agreed also that the new Switch game is probably a lock and Elibe is likely high priority, but not sure about SoV. I could see them going with Sacred Stones to get the entire GBA era in one go similar to how our current one is the DS/3DS era.

Tellius is almost certainly going to have to wait for FEW 3, though I could see Ike being a bonus character in 2.

I, myself, said that SS was super likely, too, as I listed 3 games that were likely to get in (With the exception of Switch)

IIRC, I got a bunch of “LOL YOU THINK IS IS GONNA ACKNOWLEDGE STONES?” memes.

  7. This isn’t like HW.

This whole game is more akin to the likes of their 3 game deal Gundam Warriors series, where they KNOW that there’ll be a sequel, meaning that they have to keep some nuts stored away for the winter.

In all likeliness, for the next game, we’re most likely getting:

    FE Switch.

    Blazing/Binding.

    Echoes.

The mere fact that they’re talking about sequels not only tells me that they’re planning one already, but that they need to keep something for later. And since Lyn and Celica are missing their friends, they’re higher up on the priorities list. Additionally, I don’t really think that they’d want to give us EVERY other popularly requested character at once. So, Ike and Ephraim would probably be saved for 3.

This is largely conjecture, of course. However, I keep seeing people say “The sequel needs to have every other game in the franchise in it” and that simply isn’t feasible. Not with the way they’ve been talking about it.

Since we found out about Niles/Oboro and cracked into the data, it became fairly obvious that Azura was cut first.

Suppose this also means I'll lose my citation on Wikipedia.

    Yeah, this.

The fact that we’ve found nothing about Azura makes it clear that she was never worked on before this game’s release.

Is this is all the content we'll be getting, or will we get some free updates like in Hyrule Warriors, you think? Like, can we expect any way to change a character's moveset with a different weapon or something along those lines?

They said that we’ll get more DLC if this stuff sells well.

  10. 7 hours ago, Anomalocaris said:

Yeah, no. Aside from Oboro they're going to be clones. That's just hopelessly naive and optimistic to assume otherwise.

In fact I'd be surprised if Oboro herself doesn't just share a moveset with Azura, too.

    Proof?

Because there’s no evidence that suggests what you’re saying.

Clones are done to pad out a base roster. They probably won’t just be more copypasta’s, since, you know, people have to PAY FOR THEM.

Honestly, it's pretty scummy that they're withholding the NPC four like that considering they're almost complete based on the datamine. I may get the SD one since it has two of my three favorite characters from that game, but the rest I may skip at this rate.

Datamine showed that the characters moves are copied and pasted from other characters and some enemy units.

    They aren't almost complete.

I'm just happy Minerva and Linde are in. The NPC cash-grab strategy could be seen from a mile away. They were finished, fully fleshed out characters from Story Mode taken out at the last minute to take extra money off them. They hype up the fans by having them in the base game somewhat, so that they can lure them for sure past Paywall Fortress. Simultaneously, that's 4 less characters they need to create to complete a big Season Pass.

This.  The more I read of it the more I was convinced this is what's happening to IS - and Nintendo in general.

As @Gaia093 said, the NPC characters have already been voiced and given full movesets so whoever decided to pull them out of the base game at the last second is pure scum. I figured after Hyrule Warriors had such a praised DLC scheme that the NPCs would be free downloads alongside the Season Pass but clearly not.

And that's not even getting into the fact that they put Azura in the DLC, given how big a part of Fates she is and how eager the public will be to play as her. There's no room for her in the base game, yet Niles and Oboro are okay as NPCs, IS? Really?

With how generous Heroes was until this point I'd almost forgotten the sleazefest that was the Echoes DLC. It seems IS (as well as Nintendo) is indeed headed down a very dark path.

    Stop saying this stuff.

The characters AREN'T done. Their moves are 100% copied and pasted from other characters, and generic enemy units. Hell, their models aren't even finished, as they're noticeably more pixelated than the other characters.

    They aren't on disk DLC.
