  1. The transvestite characters are sketchy and one thing to note, but I think NOW they wouldn't make anyone bat an eye, but when the game came out for GBA is an entirely different story. Progress! To be more specific, though, I recall an article noting the sheer amount of little real world details that had to be changed for the Western audience that's more with how companies are more strict with logo usage. Earthbound was not a sinple localization job. Xenoblade X2 is 100% wishful thinking. I'll take a port of X1, too, but man do I want more of that X storyline.
  2. Hey, if Nintendo is happy to detail some early 2019 games, I'd be down for that as long as it's not more cases of games releasing 3+ years after reveal. That's become detrimental to most games. I just want to play MediEvil since I misses out the first time. Mother 3 being officially released by Nintendo in some form is a meme even Nintendo plays with, but there are a whole host of reasons it hasn't, ranging from censorship concerns and copyright skirting imagery. But it's so intensely desired, especially after the meme, and the Mother series overall has an actual reputation and following now that it lacked in the SNES days. (Apparently lots of bugs to fix, too, going by your comment.) Plus, remakes and classic game compilations are a hot trend in games right now. I just think it's something Nintendo COULD do, but really find the chances very small despite the shock and delight ot would garner.
  3. What I fully expect to see and care about: Spyro Reignited second trailer, finally showing Spyro 2 story and gameplay footage. Still holding back content on Spyro 3. More Octo Expansion, finally giving release date. Not much time on this. Team Sonic Racing footage and more character reveals (Team Dark was revealed today), and release window. Fire Emblem 16 reveal and release window. (Mind you, if we don't see it, then it's a confirmed delay to 2019, as Ninty said E3 is focusing on 2018 games) Pokémon Let's Go footage and info. Further details on combat, co-op, and the starter customization. Smash character reveals, probably including Eevee, FE16 lord, Tails, Ice Climbers, and Wolf, and listing who does and doesn't return from 4. Confirmation or open denial of new adventure mode. MediEvil Remake gameplay and release window. Kingdom Hearts 3 gameplay trailer and release date, showing off more Pixar worlds. Death Stranding related things. FFVII Remake reassurance. Best case is new trailer showing the new visual style and gameplay differences from original reveal. A trailer for that magic academy game the Stardew Valley guy is making. New Switches, with more colors and designs. What could happen that would be up my alley: Entirely new Star Fox. Confirming or denying the Grand Prix rumors. Animal Crossing on Switch. Switch port of Spyro Reignited confirmed, but delayed for months after PS4/XBONE releases. Final Fantasy XVI reveal, first proper glimpse of FFXI mobile version, first bits of info for FFXIV 5.0 now that we're a year into 4.x content. Xenoblade Chronicles X2 reveal. A ton of really cool indie games. Improbable but it'd be a big deal: Mother Trilogy release.
  4. The whole face petting mechanic was just really bizarrely out of place. I've said it before but some characters had lines during the skinship minigame that made it abundantly clear Kamui's rubbing on them was not at all consensual. Honestly, just reworking some lines (like they already did plenty of) could've fixed that, but yikes. It's far less, "I can decide for myself if I can handle this content," and ranges instead from "Does this content require a higher rating, affecting our range of sales, and need to remain unchanged?" to "What audience does this content appeal to and do we want that association?" which is a far more complex series of decisions. Kimishima's era, however, has seemingly relaxed some of Nintendo's prudish localization tendencies, so I really don't know what to expect for the new FE. SoV wasn't really fanservicey despite so many opportunities to make it so, but Fates did far better in sales. 7 days, yall.
  5. This site is a goldmine! Thank you for introducing me to it! I didn't do the X/Y post game quest, so I had no idea there was that much text in another language. Seeing that much JP text would've have made me think it was a mistakenly untranslated event! I know Fantina of Gen4 is a similar case in the she speaks French in the English versions, but English in the Japanese.
  6. Interestingly, Pikachu wasn't a Tajiri concept. Atsuko Nishida came up with the original Pikachu. But, this is a pretty good explanation on why so many fans aren't interested in the newer, "cuter" designs. You can apply this to Gen 5, too, with their unique aesthetic of realism, even more so that Gen 1, as well. I'm actually glad most of these designs were scrapped. The better ones were added to Gen 4, but most of these are hilariously squishy or unpleasant.
  7. Honestly, that's probably why it was scrapped. Ditto always freaked me out as a kid, being this mass of flesh just wriggling around, so a version that's a half molten nail that looks like it's eternally screaming sounds like nightmares. The fact it's a trade evo would ruin my chance to use it, though. Shame.
  8. It looks like there was initially a Poison stone item. It was for Bellossom, "Bellmet" (the alt Bellsprout evo), and Umbreon. Umbreon is reportedly venomous in certain dex entries, so that makes sense. The original Ariados is made of nightmares. I'm.sad about the loss of baby Grimer and baby Vulpix most out of the scrapped ones, but I have feelings for that Ditto evo. It apparently results from trading one with the metal coat item. Just wow.
  9. I'm stuck on beta Leafeon. Actually, I see an early Leafeon, Tangrowth, Lickilicky, and Mime Jr design. All of which were finalized in Gen 4.
  10. Anacybele, I think you might be getting the leaked and official info mixed up as the announcement during last year's E3 stated the earliest release was 2019 for that game. LGPE being leaked and claiming it was on Switch was what got us all twisted as zero info indicated LGPE and the major Switch title were different games. There was quite a bit of fake/possibly tied to the 2019 game mixed into stuff related to the LGPE games. None of the "over-hyping" is on Nintendo or TPC as they hadn't said anything regarding a new game until the conference, which in itself wasn't public knowledge. Any dissapointment is purely our own faults for getting wrapped up into the whole build up discussion and the fake side of the leaks.
  11. I think that's part of the whole spin-off confusion. Let's Go technically aren't, but have enough deviations from the gameplay of the older mainline games that it certainly feels like they should be. They want those Go players and lapsed fans to look at this like a good jumping in point, a real Pokémon RPG. Us core players, it's a fun side game to keep us in Pokémon in 2018. The one mentioned last E3 is next year's game.
  12. Absolutely. Bring back the tongue. If we consider Alolan forms seperate Pokémon (just from different typing and movesets), including the minimum one confirmed new Pokémon, that's 170 Pokémon available in Let's Go that we can already guarantee. But, it's since been said competitive online play is not included in Let's Go, I don't think we're going to see baby Pokémon or new evos expand the Dex. That likely also means EV/IV training has no replacement. Interesting.
  13. This is wrong. "In general, it's the original 151..." Meaning it's dex is made of most the original Kanto dex, not JUST. And they ended the trailer with a note that new Pokémon are coming, in some form. Mr. Ishihara: You were really paying attention to the details! I can say that the video is referring to an all-new Pokémon that will be appearing in Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee You're likely right that we have some sort of post game or new mons sprinkled in (if Alolan forms are there). I'm still holding out for Kantonian forms of later gens. Alolan Pokémon were actually added to Go yesterday, so it all comes together in the package of making Let's Go into a middle ground game set between Go and the traditional gameplay by getting Go players used to the concept.
  14. Well then, it certainly isn't in question if these are mainline games, anymore. EDIT: Full transcript of the post conference Q&A. Haven't read it yet, myself, but here you go. https://mynintendonews.com/2018/05/31/heres-an-english-transcript-of-the-pokemon-press-conferences-qa-segment/amp/?__twitter_impression=true
  15. Kinda surprised to see so many people upset with these. Not just here, but on other forums and Twitter. This is exactly the kind of thing I was hoping we'd get if Gamefreak injects Go mechanics. It also doesn't look like us non-Go players are in the cold. This is as much an introduction to Go for mainline players as it is the reverse. It's gonna move a ton of Switches, it's looks really cute and a ton of fun. There is a lot of grind and bloat that has been stripped, and both are the biggest complaints surrounding Pokémon. I'm optimistic to see how this changes the future entries, and what does and doesn't stick for the 2019 games. I'm putting Pikachu in a sailor costume, and no one can stop me. I'm left wondering about what we do instead to improve our Pokémon if EXP and EVs aren't apart of it. CP is shown in the trailer, as well as level. If CP is something we can raise separately (and easily track), then how will that shake up the meta? Also, do we have gyms and the league? Or is this a new trial based system? Is it straight up our Yellow remakes, or is this a pseudo-sequel? Can all Pokémon enter the Pokéball Plus Joycon, or just Pikachu or Eevee? Also can I use the Pokéball Plus for other games? Can I use it in Smash?
  16. Sorry to double post, but now a morning variety show in Japan, Oha Suta, is tweeting they'll have "shocking" Pokémon news to reveal on May 31. Serebii's lead, on his regular twitter, however, claims they won't be the first bit of info. IT'S HAPPENING
  17. You're fine. I've been using one, and she's pretty much my wall against all the Dark types in Ultra Moon. She's eaten quite a few Z-moves with her Disguise.
  18. Mimikkyu's Disguise ability, and let me tell you, it's as broken as you think. BTW, tomorrow has come and gone in Japan, so a Monday announcement is past. I wouldn't think it'd be today anyway being Memorial Day and Nintendo and the Pokémon Company's US branches are likely off work.
  19. Just found out a new factoid that's too interesting not to share. Turns out Professor Willow, the PKMN Prof of Go, is Oak's old aid. This is getting out of hand.
  20. Oooh, I really like that female trainer design. If these are Blue and Red's kids, one, holy shit we have dad's again but I wanna know who our mothers are, two, this sets the next game about 20 to 30 ish years after Gen 1. Actually, this may mean that the boys were in Alola during the "catastrophe" that wrecked Kanto, and that would also nick the idea Lillie or Gladion are our rivals.
  21. Okay, let's get on track here and gather what we know that isn't an actual leak, but plays into the leaked info we have: Pokémon's next game was already confirmed for Switch last year, but we were told to wait til closer to 2019. Pokémon Let's Go! Pikachu and Eevee have official web domain names registered by CSC Corporate Domains, who did the same for Sun and Moon pre-reveal. A few days later, similar domains (like just "letsgoeevee") are snapped up from third parties to CSC's care. About a month ago, an interview with Pikachu's original character designer, Atsuko Nishida, and a few other Gamefreak employees revealed Gorochu, a cut evolution for Raichu from Gen 1. (this happened before an leaking occured, Gamefreak brought it up themselves) Last November, an official Eevee themed Twitter account was made and it's been updated almost daily since. Eevee has had a massive merchandise push in the past couple years. New merch lines, such as the Salko Soda tie-in, star both Pikachu and Eevee. Gamefreak's corporate site has Pikachu and Eevee on the top banner. The Pokémon movies have shifted from being side adventures to the main series to being a reboot of Ash's adventure and a new entry point for the animated side of the franchise. The next one has a focus on a new trainer Ash helps in catching her first Pokémon, an Eevee. Red and Blue were featured in Gen 7's Sun and Moon, but are much older and have resolved any animosity from their rivalry as children. Ultra Sun and Moon have a special post game episode staring a reformed Team Rocket, with all former evil team leaders, and is lead by Giovanni. At the end of each of these games, Lillie (SuMo) or Gladion (USUM) leave for Kanto to become strong trainers. Our trainer is originally from Kanto. Data miners discovered walking and running animations in the Gen 7 mainline games, the vasy majority going entirely unused, but fully rendered and complete for every single Pokémon, even including Mega evolutions. Data miners also discover Pokémon could be registered as having come from Pokémon Go, despite the ability to transfer from Go never being implemented. Counter arguments: Gamefreak and Nintendo own trademarks to Pokémon titles that amounted to nothing, such as Topaz, Grey, or Brown version. They also have a history of shutting down major fan game projects. Since the sites were bought AFTER the first leaks, this could be them similarly covering themselves in case someone tries to make these into actual games. Eevee's always been super popular. Gamefreak going the extra mile to cash in is good business sense and may mean nothing more. Creatures Inc may have made the walking and running animations for each mon just to cover their bases as they have made the models as future proof as possible. Some are used in Gen 7 scenes and the overworld. Kanto's always been a fan favorite, so it being all over Gen 7 could mean little beyond a ton a references to try to get older fans eased in. Go integration was unfinished, and every game has unfinished data remaining.
  22. The Kahuna battle theme. There isn't a single bad battle theme in Pokémon, but this one to me is special from how it encapsulates how playing Pokémon feels. Starting off intense, and serious, but immediately it seemlessly rolls into the bouncy, energizing melody. It's fun!
  23. Lol, Bellossom isn't my fav because she's a hula dancer inspired Pokémon, I just find it baffling the Oddish line, who includes said hula dancer Pokémon, is missing from a region based on Hawaii. There is even a Bellossom standee in the Heahea Tourist Bureau, yet, no way to catch one in the wild! Missed opportunity!
  24. It's really only a notable lack of trainers of Surge's age. Most male trainers are kids, older men, scientists, or gang members (Rocket or the Biker class). But heck, the Gulf War being the one in question makes much better sense than the convoluted war theory.
  25. Don't forget that mystery war and the curious shortage of adult males. Kanto's storyline being based more on reality (or at least being a bit more grounded and scientific) is a part of the appeal of Gen I games, I think.
