  1. Lol, I was referring to another mock-up made. Although Orre being Poké Arizona is more sound, the region map at least lines up a bit.
  2. Sinnoh is based on Hokkaido, which is the very northernmost island of Japan. Also, a good frame of reference why we can't surf the Sevii Islands. Some of the areas between line up closely with spin-off titles, like Orre.
  3. That was a part of why I've not been too worried about returning to Kanto at least in the map itself, because we're likely picking up after all of those things in Johto occured and Kanto's had time to restructure around the devastation. Familiar and new. This new leak is cranking that to 11 and beyond. This is literally Kanto in name only and fundamentally a new region. Clever, clever.
  4. There's been another "leak." Link to discussed 4chan notes. http://boards.4chan.org/vp/thread/35623978 Kanto's been completely wrecked from a catastrophe, so much of old Kanto's been destroyed and rebuilt, and our trainer is getting started long afterwards, with Red and Blue being much older. We do have new mons, but it's similar to Gen 4 in that most are new evos to old mons. The Pokemon Go integration is mostly just porting in Go caught mons and the act of catching, which is now harder. Pokeballs are cheaper to balance it. We get to choose a regular starter, with our version dictating a special gifted Pokémon in the story. Everyone can follow you outside the ball again. New villian team. Much deeper motivations, but the leaker seems questionably at a loss on said motivations despite them being deeply entwined to the story. Theme is "Silver." Lot's of version differences. Johto is there, and there is another area we'll get to explore. There are a bunch more details in the leak, but these are the most impactful, I think. It sounds freaking amazing, so it's probably fake The thing that I'm most intrigued about is this villian team. It's not Team Rocket, but silver? That can mean two things, Mt Silver, where the Pokémon League is located and that super battle in Johto with Red, or our former Johto rival and son of Giovanni, Silver. Did something happen to Silver?
  5. Yep, let's not ignore the Spyro's second trilogy, the Legend of Spyro series, was on the GC, and Crash had a series of Wii games and a DS exclusive party game. Unlike Crash, though, Spyro never totally vanished, as he was the main mascot of Skylanders. (If Spyro got in, I would go so far as request Skylander Spyro be an alt model for that generation.) So he's had quite a bit of time on Nintendo consoles, but that really didn't prevent Cloud from getting in. What's funny is that there were many complaints that Crash, Spyro, and Cloud Strife were missing from PlayStation Allstars, Sony's pretty OK Smash clone. FFVII has never had a Nintendo console release, and yet, here we are.
  6. Inklings were my vote in the Ballot, so I'm set there. I would like to see Spyro and Crash. As soon as neither were Sony exclusives, they both landed GBA games. The only thing in the air is if the Reignited Trilogy is getting a Switch port like the N-Sane Trilogy did. I much much much prefer Spyro, but Crash has an edge in that he's already getting games on the Switch. But, Tails. Just give me Tails please.
  7. I'm pretty sure Hidari is a lady, but, that's a shame since I was starting to warm up to that style. Kozaki's done work on Warriors and Heroes while working on the new No More Heroes. I think if we can agree Hidari's too busy, Kozaki's in the same position as he was replaced for Heroes Book 2. But I really like Mayo, so I would be fine with that shift.
  8. The only thing good about Awakening's DLC WAS that it was divorced from the main story. Those that don't purchase it aren't going to lose out on anything regarding the main campaign. Fates messed it up by putting a psuedo-forth storyline path in piecemeal via DLC and then refused to localize half of the the fun, goofy maps with the multitudes of convos. SoV was overpriced. FEH is gambling. Warriors is tough for me since the more I played that game, the more boring it became, but I purchased the season pass. I think it's shady to randomly lock Oboro and Niles behind a paywall, and both the ingame and DLC characters are clones of each other. But, oodles of extra maps to buttonsmash on, I guess.

    Pokemon Ideas?

I would like grass/fire. I've seen a popular fakemon that's based on chili peppers, but I'd take it even further and give it an alt branch evo that's ghost/fire, based on ghost peppers. Based on if Gorochu is ever implemented, being a slightly more demon-y Raichu alt, I'd want it to gain dark or fire type, sort of as an opposite to Alolan Raichu's psychic sup-type and surfer theming.
  10. Oddish, I love the whole line. Honestly I can't really remember why I designated it my choice "partner," think I just used an Oddish for funsies in FireRed, and decided to try for Bellossom when I picked up Emerald. I just got super attached. I don't even like picking grass starters just because I know I'll have an Vileplume/Bellossom at some point. Though.... I AM STILL SALTY THE POKÉMON BASED ON HULA DANCERS WAS MISSING FROM THE HAWAIIAN REGION. HOW TF DID YOU MISS THAT GAMEFREAK.
  11. I don't play GO. My biggest concern is the franchise expecting us all, going forward, to play both games. That's an disastrous idea as Go functions off of an entirely different ecosystem and is outright unplayable for certain people. Under no circumstance will Go transfers act as a viable substitute to proper main game implementation. If it has to be split between games, that's fine, but GameFreak is just asking for trouble locking anything behind Go expertise. As for lack of post-game/end game, I think most players expect something since certain generations have fantastic post champion content (Battle Frontier, Delta Episode, the entirety of Kanto), SuMo and Gen 1 just don't XD Personally, I just think the players that enjoy that harder, more strategic, or lore fueled content deserve something, and the lack of that fun variety of stuff to hone my skills on bums me out.
  12. Hmmm, I've actually seen quite a few posts on Twitter hoping this is 151 limit is true, since it means fans that are new or fell off over time have an easy jumping in point. I was discussing the leaks with a couple friends and one brought up the very good point that Pikachu now has access to personalized moves and items that make it outshine even Raichu. The Light Ball, Volt Tackle, 10,000,000 Thundervolt Z-move, etc. If we can access some of these at a decent stage in the game, that makes Pikachu pretty dang strong. Eevee, however, has no such goodies aside from a personal Z-move. So, if Eevee is given a few extra goodies to jack up it's stats much like the Light Ball does for Pikachu, then the lack of evolutions may not be a big deal in the long haul. I'm more concerned with overall balancing since 151 has a shortage of types made in Gen II and beyond to help with the 151's overpowered Psychic and Dragon types, and underpowered Ghost, Ice, and Bug types. Getting a Dark, Steel, or Fairy is gonna be as limited. Endgame potential in general concerns me since SuMo didn't really have one besides getting to the Battle Tree and Champion defense, and you never received a Nat Dex and the Ultra Beasts were just... around. USUM is way better, but the only other gen with an anemic endgame was.... (drumrolls) Gen I, with only Cerulean Cave and MewTwo. So, while we are comforting ourselves with how certain entries have handled themselves with the Nat Dex and new areas, the last gen and the one being remade are the absolute worst at any sort of post champion content. Unless the default is about 200 Mons to cover new baby Pokémon and evo options to Gen I introduced later, this is a huge dig at this game's hype with the hardcore audience.
  13. Announcing to early seems to be a repeating issue for Square Enix. The release window and development messes they've had publicly for main franchises just fills me with angst from how important the PS1/PS2 eras of main SE franchises were to me. 3/4 years was the dev cycle for the version of FFXV we got.... when it initially dropped. But it's going to be closer to 7 years by the time they are done adding content, which might put it closer to the original vision before so much of the game was scrapped. FFVII's Remake may be having one of the worst development hells we'll ever see considering it's already had over a year's worth of work tossed for quality reasons. Square Enix is a bizarre case of dev hells in the past decade, though. IS doesn't have any sort of track record like that.
  14. The more I think about, the more these feel like spiritual successors than either Yellow/Pikachu Version remakes or sequels. But the Let's Go! Pikachu title has the usual trend of a remake being the original title with a new, eye-catching prefix. I really don't care if these are Gen VII or VIII as much as I do if these are main-line RPGs or a set of spin-offs.
  15. I'm about to show my age. Blue- Squirtle Gold- Totodile Crystal- Cyndaquil FireRed- Charmander Emerald- Torchic Pearl- Chimchar HeartGold- Pidgey Platinum- Turtwig White- Tepig White 2- Oshawat Y- Froakie Omega Ruby- Mudkip Moon- Rowlet UltraMoon- Rowlet
  16. I have a very hard time imagining these new games are going to be restricted to the original 151. They didn't even do that in FireRed/LeafGreen or the revisit to Kanto in the Johto games. It's more if we'll see Kanto regional variants, if new Pokémon will be chilling out like normal, or if it'll be a repeat of the Sevii Islands expanding the dex. I think that, if Eevee can evolve, that's a HUGE nerf to it's potential if we're locked into the original 3 Eeveelutions (and I think it would be a bit disconcerting if Eevee is locked out of it's happiness Eeveelutions.
  17. I don't think their's been a mold since Gen V. Only Gen III and Gen IV have the same release pattern. Gen I : Green and Red release in Japan on Gameboy. Blue releases with improvements, is the basis for worldwide version of Red and Blue. The Pikachu/Yellow edition releases with more improvements and anime influences. Gen II: Gold and Silver release on Gameboy Color. Later Crystal comes out with improvements and modded storyline. Gen III: Ruby and Sapphire release on Gameboy Advanced. Then FireRed and LeafGreen release, the Gen I remakes, with massive changes to fit in the current gen's tech and standard, followed by Emerald, Ruby and Sapphire's improved version. Gen IV: Diamond and Pearl launch on DS, followed by HeartGold and SoulSilver, the Gen II remakes. Then Platinum launched, being Diamond/Pearl's third. Gen V: Black and White launch on DS system (not the new at the time 3DS). Later, Black and White 2 launch, being total sequels to the first two, picking up where the story left off instead of an improved retelling, and remaining on the DS system. Gen VI: X and Y launch on 3DS. Later, Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire land as the Gen III remakes. Gen VII: Sun and Moon launch on 3DS, then two improved variants, Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon. And here we are. There is actually a chance these Let's Go! games will be closer to what we thought the rumored Stars would be.
  18. Oh yeah, I played Blue and Yellow as a little kid on the big fat original Gameboy. My Dad got me so many AA batteries.... I'm still in Ultra Moon, but I really want Yellow, now. But... my favorite gen is actually IV. It got me back into the franchise and I never really left. The major complaint of the slowness flew over my head since I didn't have Gen 3 to compare to. I even watched the show at the time, and many of my favorite Pokémon are from Gen IV. Also, my first shiny was a Bidoof right out the gate in Platinum. Also, HeartGold/SoulSilver are amazing.
  19. That's my take, too. I can understand the doom and gloom scenarios people are making with the whole "Pokémon Go mechanics" since the two are so fundamentally different. Credit to the GameExplain guys, but they voiced concern that this may be lowering the bar of entry for new players, despite Pokémon's basically being on the ground. Especially when the biggest complaint surrounding Gen VII is that it's first 10 hours are a tutorial, theorized having been done for incoming Go players to feel eased in. (Ultra still had this problem, but it certainly feels like our complaints of being too easy were heard!) My fear is players that can't or won't play Go are going to be locked out of major features. I don't like Gen V much either, but it had little to do with the Pokémon selection since I rarely use the same Pokémon. I was more too many nitpicky issues. The weird warping and stretching sprites was gross. I didn't like the avatar's designs. Also, it was too easy. My Emboar carried the game and I never had a full party knowing the cover legendary was going to be tossed at me. It doesn't help that I love Gen IV and Gen VI the most. But, hoo boy, Gen V was laced into upon release. No one was happy with the idea of it being entirely new Pokémon, and most look upon Gen V monsters as lesser alternatives to established ones or unpleasant, living objects. The rivals were boring. The enemy team is basically PETA. Why isn't this on 3DS? It was a mess.
  20. Genwunners are loud, yo. But specifically it's more that fans want a game with everything or a repeat of Johto, with Kanto being the second half of the game, so to speak. Honestly HeartGold/SoulSilver felt like a turn in the fandom, now that I think about it, especially with Gen V being 100% new... hmm. But, I think Genwunners becoming a reviled meme in recent memory warps perception a bit. Ah. But, no demanding receipts on the desire of following Pokémon, eh?
  21. Well, Gorochu was scrapped super early. I heard it was for balancing in Gen 1, as they felt Raichu was strong enough. Gen 2 added Pichu, who is pushed HARD whenever it's Johto's time to shine, so Gorochu never had a chance. The thought is more that it could be another branch for Pikachu verses Raichu's evo. (Like Vileplume/Bellosom). Yeah, I'm a bit weirded outby the graphics of that shot, but conversesly, Pokémon games make effort to be as cute and cartoon-like as possible. The models in Sun and Moon are shockingly high poly, but the superflat, cel-shading art style just doesn't sit right with a certain demographic because it purposefully lacks detail. That popular no line mod for SuMo always looked terrible to me since it robbed any sense of depth to the models and made any textured lining look even more pixel-y. SuMo had a slew of hardware limitations outside of graphics that we won't deal with in any case. Particularly how choppy and compartmentalized the overworld map is (cleverly hidden with the islands, but still made the world feel much smaller) and the mass slowdown if more than 2 monsters are on screen. Also Festival Plaza was just awful.
  22. I'm on board if it's real. I'd get Pikachu version. The most vocally requested things are another return to Kanto and the return of follow Pokémon. If the world map design is another step up from the design philosophy used in SuMo, this could potentially only be Kanto in name. Plus, SuMo was covered in Kanto nods. I think that this had been planned for a longer while than we realize. The Yellow remake sentiment doesn't seem far off since Yellow borrowing anime elements and being Red/Blue/Green easy mode was specifically to help players entering the franchise via the anime. Let's Go! appears to be doing the same for Go players. But Go is such an over simplification of Pokémon fundamentals, and it appears Gamefreak might be overestimating the overlap of mainline and Go players. If it's just adding a throwing minigame for catching Pokémon and the ability to port Go Pokémon from app to game and vice versa, then it'll be fine. It's just not going to sit well if going forward all mainline fans need Go for event Pokémon. A class action lawsuit put a sour taste in many a Go player's mouth... Furthermore, there is that old, grainy screenshot of a player on a Lapras with Eevee on their head, but other Pokémon are seen swimming nearby. (EDIT, found it, with possible location in Fire Red/Leaf Green) If real, this could be another Go inspired element in that you can see Pokémon on the map, essentially eradicating random encounters, and being a farmiliar touch for Go players. I would be okay with this, myself, and I doubt the 3DS could've handled that considering it chugalugged in SuMo. Another, much smaller concern is the fact that Yellow's Pikachu refused to evolve. If that's still here, what about Eevee? Pikachu is alright in battle, but Eevee generally isn't, and Eevee's entire gimmick is how many ways in can evolve. Two are happiness based, too, which might read a little weird in that your little Eevee buddy doesn't love you enough to become an Umbreon/Espeon for no real reason. Pikachu itself has 2 evo branches now, but will we be able to get the Alolan form? And is that why Gorochu was suddenly revealed as a scrapped idea decades later? Are we getting Gorochu? Speaking of Alolan Raichu, if this is Gen 8, will we see Kantonian regional variants of later generation Pokémon? I love the concept and would be all over that and it would further help this potential revisit to Kanto feel fresh. And I wonder if Lillie or Gladion are the rival. Both leave for a Kanto based journey in SuMo or USUM endgame. That would be a nice surprise.
  23. A Mass Effect-like StarFox game would be the dream, but all other rumors relate to this new one being a racing game. "Lylat System" is just copy-pasta of the StarFox 64 European title, "Lylat Wars," so it screams fakey fake to me. Let's go! Pikachu/Eevee seems funky to me, too, but the concept of a sequel to Yellow in Kanto is intriguing. THAT SAID, the 9:40 start time for the Treehouse streams lines up with the earlier leak that the Nintendo Direct presentatio is 36 minutes long. No Pokémon, no Spyro, however. I agree Memories is a boring subtitle, but that doesn't amount to much. This says nothing but "Fire Emblem" is here!
  24. FFXIV'S Astrologian job has forever changed my views of card toting gameplay. It's the Buff Healer, and buff side of the moveset are uses tarot inspired cards you draw at random at certain intervals. It's pure RNG, and inevitably, you have runs if useless cards that just don't give anything to your party. I feel like the zeitgeist of FE is the less RNG the better, after Heroes removed it from combat entirely. But, an Einherjar focussed summoner job? Call the hero to fight for you? I'd be all over that! ... but you think that would work better in a game where weapons have limited uses?
  25. I'm playing Ultra Moon. And Splatoon. Also, an unfortunate bit of credit towards the shop front leaks, Bethesda's Rage 2 has officially been leaked early by Walmart's online store. FE16 being missing in action while at least two new games have been leaked that way concerns me.
