  1. I don't think inheritance, as in, whether a unit has inherited skills factor into score calculation at all, and score calculation is what determines matchups. Edit: That said, no unit has all skill slots filled prior to inheritance, so a unit with inheritance would usually have more score than a unit without, because it has more skills equipped. That is, Selena with TA 3 and Selena with Fury 3 gives the same arena score---so you're just as likely to run into the latter as the former. If you reduce your skills equipped, your score would go down, and, logically speaking, you should see less teams with skills equipped. (That said, Arena score is a mix of factors, so you could just face, I don't know, lower leveled, lower rarity units with kitted out skills instead.)
  2. _Blade & Cav\Flier buffs giving great coverage is expected. One Hone Cav\Flier is +18 Atk. Edit: Then again, Lucina has better than that without buffs.
  3. That's with Eirika, is the key here. Sure, Eirika's great as a buffer if you needed a buffer, but what if your team didn't need one? (The closest I had to a buffer on my original team was Lucina, who doesn't interact with _Blades at all, other than the normal +4 to damage.) If you have Eirika or Ephraim on a team your team is already leaning towards buffing your units, which obviously favors _Blades. (And the faster Braves, of course.)
  4. If I really wanted to mess with you, I can run 2 Cordelias, give them both draw back, and then unequip their weapons. (The AI will run to a place where you can't reach them, thanks to draw back.)
  5. The thing is, your team has to have a supportive bent, so to speak, to have Nino be favored over S!Lucina. A team of all-stars, for example, who all do well solo would prefer S!Lucina instead if her 4 speed advantage was an factor. They're better than the other depending on the team around them, and thus belong in more or less the same tier since their high-ends and low-ends are both about the same. (4 speed matters, 2x damage on the relevant units can be worth more than +20 against all units.)
  6. Azura isn't for fighting Nino, she has Sapphire lance. Azura is for letting Cordelia kill Nino and Eirika in one turn. Meaning it's 2 blues vs. 1 red.
  7. Eirika & S!Lucina gives her buffs, too. And the combo still has +4 speed over Ninos +7 attack. (Which rises to 11 once you factor in Azura's +Res, of course). And then you still have a third slot free. Edit: That's basically the thing you're doing---you're assuming that if something doesn't cost an action, it's free. Team-slots aren't free. : /
  8. If you get Olivia, I get Azura. Note that I'm still being outnumbered---you're using up 2 units to face Cordelia, and 3 to face Cordelia + Azura. Edit: (L&D Cordelia 1RKOs Nino through buffs, by the way.)
  9. Problem is, you'll have a hell of a time keeping him at maximum efficiency. Above 50% his match-ups are very, very average, around 50-60 wins IRRC. Bartre has excellent physical bulk thanks to freakish hp & def, but any mage murders him on EP. It's easy enough to send him at someone who 3 or 4 hit KOs him (to trigger brash), but how would you know that still leaves him with enough hp to survive 1 hit? If you like the character, sure, useful, I'm sure there's a way to make sure he's consistently useful---reciprocal aid on someone with total shit hp, for example (maybe an underleveled unit?) Generally, though, I think classic Brave users would do better. (Raven for green, or Minerva if you just want someone to beat face---no need to brave her, just desperation). Edit: +Atk Cordelia murders both of them, I'll be fine. (Seriously, just drop TA and Cordelia 1RKOs Nino, why the hell does she even have TA.)
  10. @JSND Brave Axe+ Bartre with +Def/-Spd, Fury 3, Brash 3, HP + 3 Seal (important to give an even number hp, Brash activates at 26 hp), 1RKOs 77 units. (And loses to only 17 who can attack back). Double Edit: +Atk/-Spd does even better at 90 wins, 16 losses. 20 Hp drops the number to 87 wins. 15 Hp to 81. +Atk seal gives near identical performance at maximum hp (24 vs. 26), but gets better as Bartre's Hp gets lower. Edit: This mustache is a fucking menace.
  11. Just remember to run some Hone or Spur Atk on your team, even my +Atk Klein misses some 2HKOs without Lucina's help. (Unless you're running him with just a Silver+, in which case I have no idea how to rate him.)
  12. It's a Klein that's slightly worse and costs more to make, but it's still a Klein---so pretty decent. Edit: Ah Virion and his glorious 31/31 worse in every way compared to TKJ offenses. Still decent---I imagine he'd be as good as Setsuna after inheritance. Even with +Atk/+Spd factored in, that's still 8 more attack on Nino vs 4 more speed on S!Lucina (and the +1 to charge does start to matter if you use a relevant special). They'd still belong in the same tier, I'd think. All-in buffs on Nino means you've used up multiple units on that turn just to buff Nino---if you built a team around S!Lucina like you just did for Nino, adding people to pick off people S!Lucina hates etc, I imagine they'd turn out about the same anyway. That said, the tier list is a total joke in general. (Lol S rank Setsuna when she both gets less KOs in absolute numbers and worse match-up spread. If a unit is S tier, L&D Brave Bow+ Setsuna probably doesn't kill it while TKJ do, is basically how it works.)
  13. I meant Fury 3 on enemies, not Kagero. Edit: And the differences are more than that---+Atk gets some KOs on higher def, lower spd non-infantry like Cain, Abel etc, but +Spd gets kills on heroes with higher spd, lower def like Clarine, Shanna, and Sully. Both versions murder infantry, obviously. Double Edit: I'm using https://rocketmo.github.io/feh-damage-calc/
  14. +Spd and +Atk Kagero perform almost identically with L&D and a Atk + 1 seal. (I just checked calcs since mine was +Spd/=Atk). Both kill 88 units, lose to Hector and Celica (expected), and fail to KO certain armors and horses and fliers. I could go over the match-ups in detail, but I'll wait on that till I get a +Atk Kagero. +Atk is generally very slightly better outside of the L&D Atk + 1 seal build, however. (Funnily enough, factoring in Fury 3 doesn't change match-ups between +Spd and +Atk at all. I think Kagero just does so much damage that all Infantry get 1RKOd anyway with =Atk.)
  15. Windsweep prevents doubling even when it doesn't prevent counters. There's basically 0 reasons to use it over quick riposte unless you really hated the idea of Hector and Ryoma hitting you.
  16. ...My gods. I think my Selena team is just so pitiful that people see it and auto-surrender, thinking I can't get def wins at all. I got 3 def wins of around 290 points each on it, more than both of my other accounts. (1 is a Lyn, Hector, Ryoma, Linde lineup with WoM and Escape Rotue on everyone but Hector, who has vantage, and the other is my main account. The WoM team has 1 def win, main has 0.) Edit: ...And I just realized I posted in the wrong thread, derp. I was going to change my post to ask how I could get def wins, to make it fit this thread. And then I realized I had a =atk/+spd Kagero in my box. Who was favorited, so I obviously checked its IVs once upon a time. What is wrong with me. -_-
  17. Tome users should be able to use it. (I didn't check the inheritance for tomes---the only interesting combo was gravity & windsweep, and that works off of Leo's 'amazing' 25 spd. With a boon.) What I checked was that it doesn't work against tomes, yes. Edit: Fair enough. Eirika does have very good single hit bulk (only 1 ehp worse than Selena on the physical side, and about 5 or 7 ehp better on the magical side), so if you're using her to just tank one thing, something like Fury 3 or just Hp 5 would be pretty good.
  18. Well, arena 'difficulty' had been BST based in the past, and now it's score based---I imagine it's the shift in scoring system that caused the difficulty spike. A low BST, but high score team would face far 'harder' teams. Whereas a high BST, but low score (very few inheritance, equipped skills etc.) team would actually have it easier. Unless, of course, like BST, there're certain score thresholds where teams are just pure cancer.
  19. Summer Festival Virion, good sir. Only, instead 31\31 offenses, he'll be 34\34, and instantly the best archer in the game despite 50 res, 2 def, and 20 hp.
  20. Yep, Windsweep doesn't do anything against tomes. 18 Spd Matthew v. 6 Spd merric had the Merric counter---Matthew didn't double, however, due to windsweep.
  21. Windsweep doesn't work on tomes, according to the text. (I didn't have a chance to test, so I suppose I'll go do that now.) If it's only non-tomes and non-staves, then it only matters for Ryoma, Hector, Bows, and Shuriken.
  22. Well, I didn't use a single sword to get my 4,682, and Michalis was 4*, so I assumed it'd be easy with a bit of investment. Either 5* Michalis or actually being serious about going deathless would've been enough. I think lost a unit or two in the first couple of rounds, when I was still getting used to Cordelia. Edit: My Michalis was completely Vanilla, too. His Def does work as long as you never put him near anything magical, fast, or a color other than blue. (lol)
  23. +Atk, DB3 Chrom one-shots neutral F!Corrin. (Chrom does that to Nowi as well, but, fortunately for Nowi, only if she didn't take her +3 def skill.) Lucina is fast enough to double F!Corrin to death with 3 more points of speed. This is either Fury 3 when you don't have a speed boosting A-slot or a speed IV disadvantage. (- when she's =, = when she's +) TA does fix both of those issues, at the cost of weakening blue match-ups (no speed booster in the A-slot means people in the same speed tier can now double you with appropriate skills).
