Robin already has a somewhat set personality but you had enough leeway to be allow to interpret their character for your own. I don't see the comparison to Byleth other than being an avatar

Last time I'm going to respond this because we're clearly don't agree on this & it's getting off topic. Those issues are why CYL unreliable. Maybe they give you an idea who's liked but there's a prize on where a character is ranked. How much are Bruno's votes are him being popular to just wanting him to be playable? The most reliable one was CYL 1 & that's incredibly outdated now.

It doesn't matter if Byleth is a silent protagonist or not. What matters if they actually made them an avatar instead of template character. Not I care at the end of the day since self righteous punk is going to complain how the avatar ruins the story anyways.

Well I was thinking an actual popularity poll, but I'm sure that Lif & Thrasir are actually that popular & not because they just want them playable.

It work for KOTOR, Persona, Fallout, etc. Why should Fire Emblem be any different? As far I'm concern, they refine the Avatar's functionality.

I'm more astounded how many people are still using the CYL polls as a way to gauge a character's popularity.

I started with Blazing Sword & gave up after Binding Blade. I only got interested again after Awakening which was 5 years ago. I didn't know people were hating on this game but I'm not surprise considering that's the norm for any community these days. Anyways, I like the academia setting. It's gives a Persona vibe.

Good thing being multiple crossover games doesn't build up one's disdain over a character. Would've love to try this game but it's a gacha.

I'm a dick & I'm beneath your rules Byakuren Hijiri : A very nice design in a franchise that already has some of the most extravaganza out there. 8/10 Palla: Pretty likeable character overall. Not sure what's her unrequited love Abel is supposed to bring. 8/10 Stocke: He looks nice? 6/10 Edea Lee: She looks nice? 6/10 Shawn Froste/Fubuki Shirou : Becoming a coach sounds like interesting character development. 6/10 King Dedede : Perfection incarnated, there is no mortal scale that can rate him properly. Dedede/10 Cloud Strife: My favorite JRPG protagonist of all times. I really enjoy how much of a loser he started as. 9.5/10 Hero Of Time: The most iconic & interesting of the Links. The amount of interpretation Link has never stops being fun. Almost the perfect avatar. 10/10

Started with Blazing Sword, finally got into by Awakening. I guess I prefer the 3DS era, but I only like 2 Fire Emblem out of the 5 Fire Emblem games I've played. I don't like what that implies.

If it does it better live up to magnum opus this community keeps making it out to be. It's the most influential out of all of them.
