Stats and skill stuff [SPOILERS]:

Oh wow, IS is actually choosing to be merciful to my orbs. I honestly didn't need Ivy to drop right after Severa and Legendary Camilla. Also, I know that Safy and Tina have those staves as Prfs in Thracia. Nonetheless, this makes what IS did to Elice and Nyna look (somehow) even worse.

That's kinda the thing. There are more FE titles that are running out of worthwhile characters left to add (or in the case of Valentia and Awakening, any characters left to add at all) than ones that are missing a majority of their roster (like Thracia or Engage). As such, they might as well be forced to double up on Asset Heroes for certain titles in order to produce a viable banner. And yeah, there's nothing stopping IS from turning "vanilla" versions of characters (Alfred is also a Rearmed Hero in addition to Alcryst) into Rearmed or Attuned Heroes at least. Doing this with Ascended Heroes might be harder to justify due to lore reasons, but perhaps not impossible.

Anything other than Engage or Thracia showing up here would be a surprise to me. I lean towards expecting the former since Engage's first anniversary is later this month. As for an exact lineup, I would guess: Hortensia (Staff Fly; either Attuned or Rearmed) Ivy (B Tome Fly; either 5 Star or Rearmed / Attuned, whichever one Hortensia isn't) Kagetsu (Sword Inf; 5 Star) Rosado (Axe Fly; 4 Star Focus) Griss (G Tome Inf; GHB) It will be interesting to see if two Asset Heroes (Ascended, Rearmed, Attuned) becomes the norm for New Hero banners going forward. I would not call early July of last year recent at this point, let alone very recent. Besides, IS has done shit like dropping F!Shez's Legendary just a little more than three months after adding her original version before.

Nah, I'd say this was almost expected. This is now the third time an Engage character got the rug pulled out from under them in the finals. Oh well, Yunaka deserved this for eliminating Volke and for not gifting us summoning tickets.

That would require IS to acknowledge Sharena in any meaningful way, and they seem pretty hellbent on not doing that.

Kid Minerva is here, so February it is for Ashnard’s refine. In the meantime, hopefully Legendary F!Corrin gets something good on her refine. Legendary Lilina and Kid Merric are also of interest to me.

It's still early in Book VIII, but it seems they have Ratatoskr covering that base. Meanwhile, this is actual dialogue from Gullveig's Level 40 dialogue: "In all—past, present, future—I love you... Always." Having Kvasir and Seidr crush over Alfonse would directly contradict what has already been established. So, cringe as it may be, this Paralogue's story makes sense as it is.

Oh brother, of course Patty got knocked out too. Well, Yunaka very likely wins this VG now. Julian currently isn't even outgaining Yunaka.

Matthew did have the bigger team, but Julian got the final hour multiplier which got Julian the win. I mean, someone had to get upset in Round 1 to compensate for the fact that it was literally impossible for Lifis to upset Yunaka. I don't think Lifis outgained Yunaka in a single hour until the final hour.

Freyr was at least "fought" in Book IV though. If we are to get Njordr anytime soon, you'd think he'd at least be fought once in Book VII. Njordr also isn't even on FEH's own website. If you look at the "Meet some of the Heroes" section of the website's main page, you won't find Njordr anywhere. The rest of the Book VII OCs, however, are all present.

As far as Njordr is concerned, the fact that IS didn't think he was worth a slot on this banner (even as the 4* Focus unit or TT unit) should tell us all we need to know about how they view him. Unless if Njordr puts up huge results in any future CYL, I can definitely see IS passing on ever making him playable. At this point, I have to legitimately wonder if IS has even made any assets (like a beast form or any voice lines) for the guy beyond his story art / potraits and that 3D model from the Book VII Midpoint video.

Bruh, why did we get a Duo Hero (and the most boring one yet, as well) on the Winter banner if we were always getting Duo Seidr & Heidr? Anyways, I don't have any big complaints with this banner. I do appreciate F!Kana being the TT unit instead of the 4* focus since I'll probably pass on spending orbs on this one. I still have my sights set on getting Legendary F!Alear from Camilla's banner.

I feel like they're doing this because they got tired of people complaining about Yunaka not gifting us orbs and/or tickets. I'm pretty sure there's been multiple previous times where a weapon / skill description was incorrect, and I don't recall any of those yielding compensation orbs.

Huh, funny how they released a Nerbuz-centric Day in the Life manga page right before the silhouettes. I'm sure that's just a coincidence. Oh, and if we get a Harmonized Hero on the New Year's banner then it'll be led by a Valentian character (SoV is the first bonus title for next week's Resonant Battles). So with that in mind, we're definitely getting a third straight Duo Hero instead.

Patty is a tempting option, but my first pick has to be the Fireman. Let’s see if Engage’s VG struggles continue with Yunaka. Engage has gotten upset twice in the finals (F!Alear and Timerra) and once in the second round (Ivy).

Well, IS isn’t giving orbs (like I expected) but this next weekend will have a x5 SP and EXP bonus as compensation. I’d say that’s actually pretty nice since the weekends normally just have a SP bonus. They didn’t have to throw in that EXP bonus.

No, not really. I'll be surprised if they provide any compensation for the Double SP weekend that never happened.

Legendary Camilla: +HP/-Spd (trait changed to) -> +Atk/-Def; New It really says something when the gacha itself was more generous for Christmas than Yunaka was. It's because of this that I am not that annoyed at Yunaka for the lack of summoning tickets. Besides hitting the jackpot for the free pull, I also got CYL Soren (+Def/-Atk; New) and Legendary Veronica (neutral; New) on the second set of pulls. I'll probably keep going on this banner until I get Legendary F!Alear, though there are also several other characters I don't have here (CYL M!Robin, CYL Gullveig, L!Deirdre, Askr, Medeus).

The Japanese voice actress for Ilyana doesn't even voice any other characters either. So, Ilyana isn't getting this stuff because she shares her JP voice with a more popular and/or more notable character. As an example, Karla happens to share her JP voice with Elise. Though on the English side, Ilyana shares with Peony (Ryan Bartley voices both of them). That's something that I'd like to know as well. How is it possible to mess that up at this point in the game's lifespan?

While I appreciate that Fire Emblem Fan mentioned Leo, there really isn't any way to save a stat line that looks like this: 39/29/22/25/30/145 Of course, IS has given Resplendents to other hopeless characters (Odin, among others, got one after all). That doesn't mean that IS should keep doing that. In my opinion, they should focus on characters who either are just a slight stat boost away from being viable or who have dogshit art.

As someone who happens to have Ilyana at +10, even I'm pretty confused by this choice. I'll still take it, but this is a very strange choice. IS: Petra and Hubert who? The Black Eagles actually has more to offer than just Edelgard, Dorothea and Bernadetta? I don't doubt that Three Houses Resplendents will happen soon now. I do think that IS will randomly hold onto certain popular characters (like they've been doing with earlier characters like Camilla, Tharja, Soren, etc.) and won't spam them all at once. At least, I hope they have restraint to do that. I knew I always on the right track by not understanding the hype with Yunaka. I wasn't going to vote for her in CYL8 anyways, but man did Yunaka really go out with a whimper here. I miss having Black Knight as the winter host.
