  1. If Lachesis gets a last-hour bonus to win it'll be pretty lame. I still don't get why so many people were upset that the heroes that had the most support were winning. I'm not that invested in these events, but just from a general mechanics stand-point, changing it from "support your favorite hero to help them win!" to "Support your favorite hero and cross your fingers that either rubber-banding saves your or doesn't screw you!" seems like a trade down. Also, the combo of not getting the bonus points for their over-all score because they never get the bonus AND losing out on the winning bonus in feathers would be a one-two punch against Elise supporters. Ironically, they put in the multiplier to give less popular characters a chance to win, but I bet if less popular characters actually do win, there will be such an outcry from supporters of more popular characters that they will change it back. Especially if it were to happen this round, then again in the next.
  2. Another on team Elise looking for cavalry pals. My ID is 5215626181
  3. I'm no expert, but if you really like the unit, you should play it. I like the idea of defiant defense to make him a crazy wall. If you can avoid magic damage, he should survive most anything that isn't blue, and some things that are. Enough defense and getting doubled isn't that big a deal. Add in Bonfire and after surviving opponent phase you'll have 15+ extra damage when you attack. This build also synergizes well with his brash assault meaning he'll double on attack phase even with his low speed. Since he is being built as an opponent-turn unit he can make good use of threaten attack or defense. The only downside is that for this build, +spd is actually the worst IV. +def or +atk would be optimal. He'll always be situational, but unconventional build and units can also be a lot of fun and very rewarding.
  4. 2 questions, unrelated to each other: 1) Are the top tiers (18-20) expanding, making them easier to enter and retain, or do the demotions keep them pretty stable? 2) Any advice for facing dancers? I usually find arena matches pretty easy to handle otherwise, but I just can't seem to wrap my head around how the AI is going to behave if they have dancers, especially because my usual strategy is to sit just outside the danger zone, step in for a nuke or two then dance/reposition out. When they have a dancer, if I sit further out of range they don't dance and just shift forward, but if I don't they nuke my glass cannon. Further confusing me, sometimes it seems they could kill one of my units if they used the dancer, but instead the she will just advance and end her turn.
  5. I'll probably not be building her for a while, but when I do, I think the support build that abuses the Falchion healing is the way to go, since if I ever pull a +atk or +spd Lucina they'll be better for the glass cannon build and I'm not exactly hurting for swords.
  6. Thanks, I'm at 684, so it sounds like I don't need to do a ton more to be bouncing between 19 and 18 rather than 18 and 17.
  7. How much fusion do I need to get into their 19? Is it better to use fusions to shore up weaknesses or strengthen strengths? I Run Nino, Azura, Eirika + bonus unit. I have a ton of Ninos that I could just start fusing as I get the feathers, but I could also fuse each of Azura and Eirika 1 time with less feather investment. Since Nino does the vast majority of the work on my team will I start to fall behind the curve if I fuse the others first?
  8. Back to 18 after dropping to 17 after a deathless run two weeks ago. Do I have to fuse to get above rank 18? I've had 5-star bonus unit with some SI both last week and this and can't really break 680 per match which does not seem to be good enough to advance.
  9. Looking at infantry mages, I think Soren has to be the same tier as Celica as he has almost the same and even probably slightly better stats and in my experience (admittedly not at the very top tier) green is at least as good a color (if not better) for a mage. Celica has access to good exclusive tome, but -blade tome is still optimal. As has already been said: Celica, Tharja, and Katarina are essentially identical. Soren is clearly below Nino however IMO, because the three points of speed separating them actually make a huge difference in terms of doubling commonly seen units and builds. So it seems to me that the 3 red mages should be knocked down a tier to be the same tier as Soren, Bride Caeda, and Spring Lucina, Leaving Nino and Linde alone at the top of infantry mages. Related, to players that are top tier: is there a significant difference in the usefulness of different colored blade mages? Where I am, green seems the best because you can run with Olivia and Ephriam or Ninian/Azura and Eirika and they can take on Reinhardt and Hector. I also find that their biggest weakness, red mages, are less common than the counters to the other mages. I also think that separating into 1 range vs. 2 range is more useful than separating by move-type because it seems like comparing infantry mages to mounted mages or even archers and dagger-users is a more direct comparison then comparing them to sword/axe/lance or even dragon infantry.
  10. Not knowing her IV or what else you have, I would say she is worth the investment. Mine is +spd/-atk with fury, desperation, and Dragon Fang from IS. I did build my team specifically to support her as well, but she has been amazing.
  11. You need a dancer or units with repositioning abilities since she cannot take a hit, but Desperation Nino single-handedly takes on everything that isn't red (and some things that are) for me, including Veronica and Hector. Are you also running fury or L&D? It isn't uncommon for Nino to sit at 1hp for the last 6 maps and still do the vast majority of the killing on my team. I run her with Eirika, Azura, and a quasi-healer 4* Tharja I made special for this event.
  12. So with the gauntlet all but decided how are people feeling about the 3x multiplier? I liked how it at least made matches seem more competitive, without really allowing for a major upset. I am ambivalent on the effect on cumulative score, I like that it gives some incentive for you to support your favorite even if they will lose, but it does feel unfair to those that back the winners. The major issue I have with it is the time-dependent nature. If you are backing a winner, you will likely only get 2-3 multipliers per round, and at least one of them will probably be in the first 3 hours of the gauntlet, which is 3-6am for my time zone. Especially for a casual game like this, I am against any event that punishes you for getting a good night's rest.
  13. I'm done posting on this because I don't want to hijack the thread, but saying your attitude is crappy is no more an insult than you calling my post uncalled for.
  14. Actually it was very much called for. You don't have any control over who IS puts in the gauntlets, but you do have control over how you respond to it. And coming in and ranting about how Tharja doesn't deserve to win (whatever that means) and saying you are going to quit because the characters you like aren't winning is objectively a crappy attitude.
  15. I understand wanting better, more even match-ups, but I don't get wanting the hero with less support to win. It that's what you want, why not just make it a lottery where everyone picks their heroes and the winners are chosen randomly?
  16. The idea that there is strategy involved in the voting gauntlet is laughable.
  17. Tharja should be fine. Her team should have more flags saved up and with that 10% gap is going to be pretty massive by the time Robin's next and probably last bonus comes around.
  18. Have to say, all the Tharja hate just makes the victories sweeter. 3x multiplier might not change outcomes, but it does make things more entertaining. I do hope they do something about the cumulative score next time though.
  19. I am confused about how top players get the scores they get. Top players in on Team Tharja have scores around 350K, how do they get those scores when Tharja has been in the lead for almost the whole time?
  20. I don't think so, Although the 3x keeps the scores close I don't think it will actually result in upsets. Especially with the "same" buffer. Tharja has the advantage, so if Linde falls behind enough to regain the 3x bonus, she'll only keep it long enough to re-enter the "same" range then she'll lose it and Tharja will pull ahead again. As an active member of team Tharja, this actually bums me out a bit. I only got one 3x attack and probably won't get another this round. If you add me I have Eirika in the lead but can also switch to my Azura. ID: 5215626181 EDIT: corrected my ID. Anyone that wants to add me feel free.
  21. Note that this does not say that they banned the account for using a rooted device/unofficial version, just that they don't offer support because of that. Most likely received a ban for other activities. If players were being banned simply for using emulators/rooted devices forums and reddit would be blowing up, not just seeing a few isolated complaints.
  22. I've been playing for a while and now am thinking about the Arena team I want to build toward. I'm building around Nino with Eirika and Azura. Most seasons I'll be Filling the 4th spot with a featured hero, but I'm not sure what to plug in for the 4th spot in weeks where one of those are featured. I think my best options are Ninan (+Res/-Atk) or Reinhardt (+Atk/-HP), but a more stand alone hero, especially with distance counter (I have Ike and and Ryoma, though both with bad IVs and a few versions of Nowi and Adult Tika) seems appealing, as does a bulky mounted unit with reposition or switch to keep Nino out of trouble. Any advice?
  23. As many others, I found this much easier than the other battles. Mainly because my default group which I took in to scout it out ended up being perfect. I have 5*Azura and 4* Nino, Eliwood, and Nowi. Eliwood and Nowi have triangle adept and Nino has Fury 3. Just used the classic nino/azura sing/drawback move to kill the lancer on the left side and move out of range, then everything was very straight forward. Azura and Nino killed Xander, Eliwood killed the mounted mage, and Nowi killed the Swordsman. I did mess up the first time and the swordsman managed to kill Nowi with Ignis, but that was easy to fix by letting him attack first. I think I could have even 3-manned it without bringing Nowi.
