I honestly have no idea how I'll be able to do this. You'll need 28 different units total. I don't even have that many leveled up to 40, I think. I know I don't have that many 5 star units.

EDIT: Okay, so I barely have more than 28 units leveled to 40. But that's still won't help much since only like half of them are 5 star.

I hear ya, I just barely had exactly 28. The other tricky thing is that they might need to be well-prep'd with skills, so you end up being like "alright well... what's good for Tobin?". The extra orbs, upcoming banners, 3*/4* chance swapping, and free summons should help though.

Just the other day, I gathered the 8 or so Cecilias I had and promoted/merged them all at 4*, so maybe with the changes, it'll be easier to pull something like that off.

  2. Quickly made a list of my capable units and started to arrange them into balanced teams. They're not all 5*, but I have 28, though a few needed some work (oh Seliph). Only thing that really concerns me is that I only have 6 suitable greens, so at least one of my teams might end up in an even worse position against Effie or Nowi than Reinhardt.

It'll be interesting to see how they line up your opponents. In normal Arena, if you intentionally include an underleveled/underskilled/unarmed character, you might into some similarly unbalanced teams that your hardier units could potentially win alone. I suppose that it might be possible to use a weaker unit to skew the match-ups, perhaps at a slight reward drop. Kind of a gamble though.

  3. The video just says "This applies to summoning events beginning from August 7th", which I guess could be interpreted a lot of ways. I think they mean that every new banner we see after the 7th will have it, but it won't apply to banners that are already in place (which, if true, would apply for Celica's Tempest banner and Lilina/Cecilia's BHB banner, but not Nohrian Summer). At the very least, we are assured that those two I listed will definitely have it.

If it is for a limited time only, then I'd assume it would end when the 6-month anniversary stuff is over (which, going by the login stuff, would be Sept 11).

But then that leaves the grey near Genny's head. 6 units may be a thing...?

Nah, that's just some more feathers from Genny's special art. I had to move a few sparkles and feathers to match the silhouette, as they modified her art to fit the space better. I was just too lazy to fill out every last bit of silhouette with the extraneous details.

I agree. New players or players that got unlucky will have to wait for 4* Clive to get a bonus unit which seems pretty iffy to me.

I was about to post that Julia would fit the bottom left spot. If I had @Johann skills with photo editing, I'd try superposing Ninian and Julia's silhouette.

Once again, you've led me to the correct piece of the puzzle. Behold! The banner is complete, with Ike, Julia, Ninian, and Genny.

I think the upper right unit could potentially be Ninian, you see the shape of her head and hair as well as a bit of her scarf.

You're right, Ninian is a perfect fit if you smooth erase the edges

The giant solid gap of dark grey makes me think we may be getting 6 units for Hero Fest this time. Anyone able to make out that gloved hand on the top left?

It's actually Genny's arm, I goofed the placement in my previous gif. Here's an improved one

I didn't even notice the silhouette, but I'm down for Ike getting some more attention right now since he's only been on one banner, that being his debut one. :3

It was tricky to spot, but it's by the two tufts of hair that I could tell. Observe!

Ike would make sense since he's super popular and a good unit with a good base skill set! And something's been telling me he'll be in it too. :) I just have this feeling. I must love Ike so much that I've developed a sense for when stuff about him is coming. XD lol I kid. I guess it just makes that much sense to me!

Yeah, considering last time, it seems they go for characters who are very popular and/or tend to have good skills to inherit. I'm working on an image that shows the characters matching the silhouettes and so far, Ike is a perfect fit. Genny fits too, but with some resizing of her extra sparkles and feathers.

  10. Before the summer banner, I would've guessed some kind of trick-or-treat Gaius. I actually think they'll do something reflecting the season itself, not directly Halloween. As a counterpart to the Spring banner, I'd wager that'd be something relating to harvesting (crop/farming weapons). Also probably Hoshido people and Corrin since they haven't used any of them yet.

Honestly, the more i look at it, it's not the enemies that are the problem. It's the fact that you can only use each time once, and if you lose even a single unit, it's an automatic game over.

Well, look at it this way; you know exactly what you're fighting before each round (minus the first unless you've tried it or heard from someone). It's a little more like doing 5 GHBs in a row, and like GHBs, you may need to end up using skills you didn't think much of before (like -wolf tomes, who knew? glad I had that ready). Plus, unlike GHBs, Tempest, or even Arena, there's no rush to beat these.

  12. After getting home, I updated and gave the Squad Assault a try. Really liked it, and managed to win on my first try somehow. Nothing story related, but I'll spoiler the 5 maps:

    Spoiler

They're the first battle from each of the first 5 main story chapters, ie: Marth/Caeda/Jagen, followed by Xander/Camilla/Leo/Elise, and so on.

All with high stats and very few of them have actual passive skills, the rest having nothing but their weapon (and a heal for the healers). You get to look at the maps when selecting your team, just like when you'd fail a Tempest map. Breaker skills, Triangle Adept, and debuffs (daggers, staves, Seal/Threaten skills) are highly recommended; 5* Felicia with Seal Speed 3 made the 3rd map pretty easy for me. If anyone cares, here were my teams and course of action:

    Spoiler

    1) Robin (M), Ryoma, Takumi, Soren - Robin had TA3 and swordbreaker; Ryoma did nothing except buff and use swap once; Takumi and Soren didn't have any real SI going on so they weren't one-shotting anyone like Robin did to Marth

    2) Xander, Ursula, Clarine, Jeorge - the 3 cavaliers had buffs to spread around. Ursula had Blarwolf+ and baited and killed Leo, Xander baited and weakened Camilla. Jeorge finished off Camilla, Xander repositioned Ursula to hit the enemy Xander, and then Elise was easy pickin's. Clarine didn't have to heal, she was just there to make sure Xander and Ursula got Hone Cavalry.

    3) Sheena, Effie, Ike, Mist - My Ike is +Def, so he baited the archer and whittled him down. Sheena baited and killed the lance cavalier using QR. Even though Ike had swordbreaker, all of the units here had 51 or more attack, so Heavy Blade didn't help unless I had Threaten Attack go off. Mist provided valuable defense and healing to keep Ike and Effie going to finish it off. The real threat in this map is the archer, or at least it was for me since I used Robin on map 1.

    4) Cain, Roderick, Felicia, Ninian - Felicia has Seal Speed 3 and baited Lissa off to the side, so she'd get stuck on the tree and build up Glacies. Then she was able to debuff Chrom for Roderick to take out. Cain has the defenses and speed to shrug off Frederick, and with Felicia's debuffs, he was able to wipe him out in a single action the next round. Don't think I really needed Ninian, certainly not to fight.

    5) Frederick, Sharena, Bride Cordelia, Azura - Magic is kinda much useless on this map since the 2 thieves and Wrys have like 40+ res and far too much HP. Frederick killed the northeast thief, Azura refreshed him to get him out and then he repositioned her. Sharena with swordbreaker 1 moved in to deal with Navarre. Cordelia has a Flamesweep Bow but I don't really think it was necessary, since the second thief has the same stats as the first, so Frederick could destroy him too. Wrys, final boss material that he is, was left last.

At the end of the day, the guantlet is as stressful as you make it. Opinions are opinions and whether or not like you or dislike a character doesn't hurt anyone or anything. A character's popularity has very little to do in the grand scheme of things. Whether or not Lucina wins by a landslide, barely wins because of the multiplier, or loses, there are still going to be a TON of people that love her (and also hate her). Same goes for any character. :3 Priscilla will always be my second or third fave.

The mechanics of the gauntlet can certainly be improved upon, and IS has proven that the developers want to find a way to please the majority of people. Personally, I like this event because it doesn't take any extra stamina. I can still work on other quests and whatnot while it's going on. Meanwhile, the Tempest just ate away at my resources...

Oh, I don't get particularly invested into who wins. I'm just saying the individual battles ought to have more significance and definitely should be more varied in some way.

Yeah, lots of people like it. 10,000+ free feathers is fun.

Barring the results of voting rounds themselves, people are only excited for feathers. Everybody stops talking about the actual battles pretty fast, since they're repetitive and you can cheese 'em pretty easily.
