Fates Limited Edition has to be the most I've ever paid for a game, only did it 'cause I wanted all the games on one cartridge lol. This cancellation, after Fable Legends got canceled too, had me feeling like dropping my XBONE from my second floor balcony... which I didn't do for obvious reasons. :') I mean this game had me soooo hyped from the moment I laid eyes on it first because dragons HNNG. I enjoyed the heck outta Bayonetta, got a lot of replay value from it too and judging from the trailers, I think this game would've been at least as good so much better! I had no idea it got so much hate though and was very disappointed when it got canceled. Nowadays I'm even considering giving up on MS consoles because of the Switch and they keep shitting on their exclusives especially Fable, which is the only reason I went there anyway.

Very nice and necessary quality of life patch! This whole mechanic (and wonky emulator issues) is why I opted to not play 11 and went for 1 instead, but I'm inclined to reconsider eventually thanks to this patch.

I'd like for this mechanic to make a return, but yeah 12 uses in one battle/dungeon is a bit overkill. Ideally it'd be the lord character's personal skill; maybe make it like 5 uses max or a Light's Blessing effect once per battle and then do away with Classic/Phoenix mode altogether.

If you just include: - A lord that's awesome and not gullible, like Hector - A right hand-man that's reliable as Jeigan/Marcus - A mother-like character that's as caring as Camilla Titania - A red-green duo as enigmatic as Sain&Kent - A manakete that's not another loli or geezer, like Yahn - A triangle attacking trio in any form that's not a pegasus trio again - An ally who constantly harries the lord character, motivating him to get better, like Shinon - An recurring antagonist who parallels the lord character, like Berkut - A major antagonist that's as unrelenting as Zephiel and/or as charismatic as Ashnard There's a great game in the making already! Just go less Awakening/Fates, more Echoes, including the story importance of more than a handful of characters and I'll be golden.

This is basically FE6 Bern; Zephiel is near enough Hitler as well, if you replace the human race with the jews and the dragons with the aryans in this analogy. Ilia from FE6/7 had this, as well as the Ice Tribe stuff in Fates. I think it's more of a mix-and-match scenario when it comes to incorporating these 'foreign' cultures in a FE game because whether you like it or not, they're never going to do away with the medieval European-style template, which is basically the series' foundation. Sure they might shift the focus here and there; think the Mediterranean-style Archanea, the Classical/Grecoroman Valentia, kinda French Renaissance+German Nohr etc. but leaving that concept altogether? Seems unlikely to me. The way I think they could do it best: Ideally you would depart from a European baseline, which gives us all the classes we know and love (Merc/Cav/Armour/Soldier lines as well as Peg/Wyvern/Mage/Healer/Archer generally, but there's room to be creative with those), maybe another major culture or two to incorporate the remaining/original classes like Hoshido/Laguz nations did, as well as add some more Mounted/Armoured/Flier/Beast units too and then some minor cultures that bring a class line or two with them (one as a DLC option maybe?), like the Myrm/Nomad lines from Sacae, Peg/Wyvern lines being excluse to Medon etc. and then the gimmicks. Sure seems like an expansive project now that I've typed it out lol, but on the other hand this will be the first FE title on a home console in 11 years so they should be able to fit a similar amount of content/variety on there without paying the retail price in DLC fees after release. :)

I approve of Gray and Saber in any form or skillset, but it's nice to see the Longsword enter into the game! Also killer weapons +++ & ++++ I guess. Delthea and Sonya: nice! Also dark prf tomes, nice reference to the black magic mechanic. All in all, this is nice.

I have to say that I don't appreciate them all that well. To me they just come off as kind of gimmicky and too bland in their traits/characters; Emma being the kid that's always kiddying around, Yuzu who's totally not exactly like Effie, Randal who's just the fed up elderly guy trying to do his thing while being dragged about by the group and Shade who's trying to mother everyone together, but in a less overly doting way than Camilla. Admittedly I probably would have appreciated it more if they had expanded on their backstory/origin/homeland, but that's just me I guess. Don't get me wrong; I like them well enough, I just think they could've gone with a bit less Awakening/Fates-style characters.. am I that old? :x

OMFG I JUST COMPLETED IT AND AM SO RIDICULOUSLY RELIEVED!!! I attempted this dungeon (Hard/Classic) immediately after the story without additional grinding/overclasses (my 3ds memory is just about used up due to switching storage focus/SD-cards, so no more DLC than the Cipher pack for me) and was so appalled by the difficulty spike; I have to say that I felt it was unfair and stupidly broken, however we are talking about postgame content wherein developers want you to commit as much additional playtime to the game as possible even if most of it is grinding, so it's understandable. I tend to want to flesh out games to their full extent generally, so this dungeon gave me a HELLUVA hard time, but it's to be expected that an RPG has you grind some more to achieve that whereas for example hack-and-slashers just need you to git gud (preferable imho, but as I said if works with the genre). I didn't have anywhere near as much trouble completing Lagdou Ruins if you even dare compare that or Apotheosis though. Up until floor 7 was perfectly manageable but then... omgwtfbbq. I had to navigate hella carefully from there on and if I got caught in an ambush just turtle until retreat. Never even came across the dragon room on B9F, thank Naga. And then the final battle: gods just wow. Even the mooks were stupidly OP, I mean 95HP on generic Barons wth! Anyway, with a lot of careful positioning, Combat Arts and Turnwheel abuse, slowly but surely I made my way up to Grima... and then I attacked with Celica and got crit fffuuuuuu-! Attempt two: turtled and abused my way up and had Python (only Bow Knight I brought) sitting in his range, Physicing him up while he Ward Arrow'd the Death!Arcanist that spawned on the left, keeping it from killing whoever. Few lucky crits from him and unlucky crits from Grima later and I just zerked the fkr, resulting in 3 deaths, but hey I haven't used any resurrection springs yet anyways, pfew. In conclusion: yes, I think it's stupidly broken, but it's something to be expecting fearful for when you get to any RPG's postgame glares ominously at Battle Tree. So: never again Thabes, pfew! Now to finally view that Memory Prism, then get back to Fates and wrap that sucker up. :)

I spent about 50-60 orbs on the summer banner on a whim and got Tiki and Robin out of it! Stark contrast with the 200+ I spent to get Celica, but I'll not complain lol.

Hahaha it's actually supposed to be ironic. Like most people I don't really appreciate most of the over the top anime stereotypes that came with Awakening/Fates, which also invites that kind of crowd and sentiment if they're new to the series. They really brought it back with Echoes though!
