Call me crazy but the only open field that I remember in Birthright was Cheve. All the other maps were either shared with Conquest like the Rainbow Sage castle or were non-open fields with obstacles like the ninja village or volcano.

Correction, maybe the words "open fields"  is incorrect, what I am trying to say is that in Birthright, the maps are easier to understand.

  2. I felt mostly the same, the presentation was impressive with voice acting. But I feelings on the game get worse as a game goes go. Now, I can forgive I game with a bad story, but I cannot forgive a game with bad game play. After all what am I doing majority of the time. The problems start to come out on Celica's  part, during the swamp, where units can barly move; getting damaged every turn, needing to cast invoke on every turn to stop the dread fighters from tearing up my mages. In Duma's tower  every fight had the same enemy placement, and it went the same way. The final boss I felt was most of the problems in the same in one level. Summoning spam, needing only one point to double, upheaval, the stupid poison  water, needing invoke to survive, dread fighters,. My biggest problem is that IS was too faithful to the original game. But the game still have its merits, which I have said earlier today.

Alright, if that is the case, then does the Replica's passive assist skills affect separate allies? (eg. an ally that is out of Sakura-1's range). Also, does Inspiration stack with Quiet Strength?

Yes I think to the first question, not really sure that are you asking. Yes to the second question.

  4. Just like Jedi said, if you are playing Conquest try not to feel comfortable.Conquest does a gimmick in almost every level to keep you on your toes. Don't worry about playing Conquest on Normal-Casual, Conquest will be be a good challenge if your first Fire Emblem game is Awakening.

In Birthright most of the maps are played like Awakening. Where there are open fields, and most of the objectives are will everything or, just kill the boss. But what makes it different from Awakening is the re-balancing of certain mechanics (pair-ups, certain classes) in a few environment.

Anyways, what other units could be added into the game as red mages? We have so little red mages that I thought to ask.The only ones that I can think that fit the red mage role are boss mages like Nergal, Lyon, and Jedah.

Calill, Tormod (FE9 and 10),  as fire mages. Nyx(FE 14), Lute(FE 8), Miriel,(FE 12) Jubelo(FE 3), and Azelle (FE 4) because they join the party with a fire tome; therefore they can be red tome users.

Dong armor is stupid. It makes riding a horse impossible and suggests you're overcompensating. Pantsless Marth is so very daring- he is willing to put the most important jewels of all of Archanea in the way of all enemy attacks (the Spheres I mean). Why do think baddies prioritize Marth so much in FE1?

Alm never used a horse in Gaiden or in Echoes. Besides I'm there are more women in Alm's route want the royal sword: Faye, Clair, Celica, and Mathilda (she is considering breaking up with  Clive for the royal d).Even Silque, a cleric knows the righteous power of the dong armor. Compared to women wanting Marth forgotten Falchion: Marisha, Catria, Caeda, and Tiki. Half off them are kids! These are the kind of people the Marth and his skinny legs attract.

I want to recruit Frey through only one means - sacrificing the silver lance Jagen. Canon is canon.

I'd really like an Archanea TT. Though if the bonus units end up being the new mystery banner then I'll be in hot water again. Only the first TT had bonus units that were in the game since launch.

I there was a Archanea Tempest Trials I would want the reward to  be a Manakete either Nagi or Bantu rather than a conventional unit. Try to make the reward more exciting, and the units better.

Does Replicate stack with Inspiration/Amaterasu (or any other passive support skill)? As in, if Sakura and her Replica are standing next to a unit, will (s)he receive 60% HP healed and -4/+4 damage taken/dealt?

No, Replicate does not stack with Inspiration/Amaterasu. Just use Replicate to have Sakura  coverage a larger area, and heal more allies

  10. What I enjoyed in echoes was the minor details: all the quips that characters make when  a nearby ally defeated an enemy, the flash by Alm or Celica does when the player phases starts. I like how the game both complemented Alm and Celica story without shafting one of them, and how both armies were balanced  power wise to each other( take notes IS for the Radiant Dawn remake). I enjoyed Memory Prisms because it told backstory of certain characters without exposition, and leaving motivations without guessing. And finally, the villages,I enjoyed the idea, because what bothered me about most Fire Emblem games is how the average person live; with was answered. All and all, I see Echoes as an experiment, for the next game. To see whats works, and what doesn't.

Thanks for the reply. I was thinking about going Live to Serve/Inspiration, and I knew Shining Bow would work best on her. But then again, there is only so much Shining Bow to go around, splitting them among Niles, Nina, and possibly Anna. I've seen you reply to a previous post of mine, and while I know not all units are going to be supportive, I've already used Amaterasu on Azura, Amaterasu, Bowfaire, and Rally Speed on Shigure. While I will be willing to use these skills on her if they are best, are there any others that could help her stand out?

In that case, other skill that can help Sakura out are Rend Heaven, to assist her in fighting tough opponents, Countermagic  to dish back the damage from mages, Warding Blow to fight mages head on (works well with a dual yumi), Replicate to have double the support power, Luna to pierce high defense enemies. Usually the same skills works well  on everyone, unless you are try to make a niche build.

  12.  For skills try Live to Serve, which allows her to heal herself whenever she heals an injured unit. Bowfaire to improve her damage output. Rally Speed, to buff allies. Inspiration to b  an easy method to buff allies without using a rally skill. And Amaterasu for healing chip damage for nearby allies. Just remember she works best with a Shining Bow.

If Nuibaba is ever added into heroes, how do you think her Medusa spell would work?

Medusa as a tome would probably have build in miracle.I know it is simple, but if it works as it did in Echoes,  it will be wonky if every attack left enemy at 1 hp.

So apparently the reason characters in Heroes can't attack at multiple different ranges is that the interface makes it difficult to determine which range to attack from, since the character could move to different distances from the same enemy. But this is only an issue if the character is actually capable of moving before attacking.

It could be interesting to see a weapon or skill for ranged characters that changes their weapon range to something much broader, say 2-4, but at the cost of making it so the character can't move and attack in the same action.

Like Ballisticians in Shadow Dragon, where they covered a third of a map, but could barely move?

  14. Noire: Got to keep my shy daughter in the game, and away from Tharja.

fMorgan : MVP of Awakening,  I question  how the devs are going to  translate her brokenness in the game

Malice: I have a soft spot for female characters with purple hair, even more with a  eyepatch.

Nailah: See above, but an amazon wolf women , with tattoos.

Say'ri: foreign accent, black hair, sword-woman, strong motive, brother issues. My second marriage choice after Tharja. Hopefully she will be wielding Amatsu as a personal weapon.* as

How good is Celica? I have Sanaki and Tharja both maxed and optimized but if she's better would like to get her while banner is up.

Celica is wielding the tome Ragnarok exclusive to her. the attack power is exceeded only by Effie, and her speed is surpassed only by Lon'qu when her hp is full.  Celica's success in battle hinges on her ability to use Ragnarok to its maximum potential while avoiding the penalties. Without full hp, she is a weaker Tharja. In other words she is just as good as Tharja, but need to  workaround her cons.

  16. Feel mixed about a pure magic lord. Celica in Echoes was one of my best units due to using swords and magic. Unless the game accommodates  a magical lord, it going to be a bigger hassle than it is worth. Just look at Micaiah and the problem she had not including the way the game progressed.

    Hey guys!

After much effort, I have finally pulled a Julia! Unfortunately, she is -Spd / +Res which gives her only 23 Spd overall. Is there any hope of trying to make her work? Even if I chose Life & Death 3 over Fury 3, I'd only be at 30 Spd with the Sacred Seal.

Any tips or suggestions would be appreciated. :)

Instead of making her double, try making her into a powerhouse that will make blue mages will fear. Fury will work as an A slot. or death blow.  Life  & death will ruin her magical bulk. The slot B skill can be either be green tome beaker for green mages match ups  or Quick Riposte of crush blue magical units  that attack her. The special should be iceberg  due to the her massive resistance. Just remember quick riposte and fury does not mix. Hopes this helps.

Catria and Frederick both give Luna at 4 stars.

Nope, only thieves- no promotion (but in SD/NM they get a 30 level cap like Marth). Julian is the original thief, spawned something of an archetype (thief+cleric), and I think Gaius's orange hair color might be due to Julian also being an orange. There is also Rickard, Julian's little pal, but he's inferior from a gameplay perspective and ironically can only be recruited with Julian- which is bad if Julian dies before you get to him because you're then without a Thief altogether.

I wondered why Julian have Rickard as a partner. he isn't the sharpest tool in the shed. He got captured by some enemy forces. Rickard is held in a cell that he, being a thief, could have opened. Either he was waiting for an opportunity or was unaware he could open the do. Then again Rickard is a two bit thief compared to Julian and personality and in gameplay.

  20. I have seen parts of the pilot for the original Star Trek. Instead of Captain Kirk, the main character was Pike. Spock was the only person from the pilot to be on the show. The story was that some aliens kidnapped the captain, so Pike must explain what humanity is, and the purpose of  their mission.

The person below me does not like mashed potatoes.
