  1. Are part 2's 'Advanced Drills' actually intended to work differently for the Ashen Wolves? Hapi is able to teach me Faith and not Reason, despite her skill proficiencies being the other way around. Is it just an oversight/glitch? Pics: Edit: Apparently Hapi (and Yuri having his budding talent) is the only exception for this. Weird..
  2. I still live and breathe, but it will probably be a little while before i come back to this run.
  3. TBF, Benice isn't the only one who's been MIA 🙄 I recorded these weeks ago, but finally uploaded them: Chapter 15: 10/107 Turns Chapter 16: 5/112 Turns
  4. I like Laylea a lot, probably since the only reason Leen could be considered better is being able to inherit the Leg+Knight Rings. Prayer<<<<<Charisma all day, plus the Barrier Sword is actually somewhat useful later on.
  5. - In the Units window (Press A on empty space, first(?) option), you can see when a unit can talk to another. This is super important for things like recruitment, getting powerful equipment, and building love points. Honestly, I would not play through FE4 the first time without a translation, there are a ton of things that are hinted at in dialogue (especially in the PN patch), and the story is one of the best in the series IMO. For difficulty, if you are playing blind, it can be pretty unforgiving, but otherwise it's really not too bad if you're willing to forgo things like the Knight/Bargain rings in Chapter 2 and you don't rush. - Waiting on a church will fully heal a unit at a (negligible) cost of 5 gold/HP. This is generally more useful early on than it is later. - Mend staff heals exactly 2x as much as the Heal staff and requires the same staff rank. The last use of a staff heals double. - There is an Arena that is accessible from every castle on every map except Prologue and Chapter 6. You get money if you win, and if you lose your unit will be left with 1 HP, but won't die. - Trading around the Paragon Ring at the start of a chapter is a very good idea. Clearing the arena will net a unit 17.5k gold, and buying+selling the Paragon Ring just for the arena means that it only costs them -2.5k to double their experience. The only downside is that they actually lose a little bit of money after the arena, so just do it on units with tons of gold. Make sure you clear the arena LAST with whoever you want to have Paragon for the actual chapter. - Units with the Bargain skill or the Bargain Ring can buy items for the same price that they sell them. That means they can borrow any items in the pawn shop free of cost, assuming they have enough to buy it at half price. They can also stock up on items that nobody else needs in order to go above the 50k gold limit. - Only using a unit's best weapon is generally the way to go, in order to hit 50 kills asap. Don't bother trying with Iron or Steel weapons though, it's not worth it. - Thieves can give all of their gold (all or nothing) to any other unit. Married couples can do the same between each other. - As has been mentioned, it is never too early to start planning your pairings. If someone gets married and you don't want them to, you can reload an earlier save and kill off one of the characters. You do have the ability to revive fallen units starting midway through Chapter 3.
  6. If you have them, Pursuit Band goes to Lewyn/Tiltyu/Noish, or Ethlyn if you don't really need it in Gen 1. Bargain Ring goes to a holy weapon user. Live Ring, I like to give to Erin and have her pass it down as well. I tend to give her the Power Ring also, but Sigurd or Midir can make good use of it as well. I usually give the Shield Ring to Ayra, but there are definitely better candidates, namely a mounted unit. The Barrier should go to someone who has good but not great Res, Lachesis/Lewyn/Erin are usually my choices, though Sigurd can hold it until chapter 5 as well. If you get the Defence Sword, that one is kind of a toss-up, though i usually just throw that on Erin too. I like to put it on a unit with Canto, so that they can switch to it after killing something. It's really only useful for approaching Ballistae or when sword-locked characters can't do anything on Enemy Phase.
  7. Do any versions of Tordo have menu translations? 🤔
  8. Yes, yes, i would just play on an emulator in that scenario 😋
  9. I actually also have a physical copy that my brother bought way back when for like $20 at Gamestop, lol. But if i were to play a draft i would want save states. I guess ill just do trial&error when the time comes.
  10. Yeah but for LTC or something during a chapter,, the only way is to suspend+reset?
  11. I am not currently playing PoR, but I'm curious for future reference. In the GBA games, you can easily burn Random Numbers in order to change battle outcomes, finding hidden items etc. with save states. Does this work the same way in PoR where you just make the game determine a movement path to burn them? Is there a different technique?
  12. @goldenblade my friend, have we lost you?
  13. Chapter 12: 7/86 Turns Tana put in some real work here. Looking back she probably should have carried someone up with her, but oh well. Forde used up almost the entire Silver Lance, which could be a problem since I can't use the Hammerne ever. Saleh visited the villages because he was bored. I missed out on the Halberd, and Gilliam probably won't forgive me for that. >Forde used Ewan's Energy Ring Chapter 13: 2/88 Turns Survive/Defeat Boss. Guess which one I did 😋. Gilliam and Tana started going south to make that ballista shut up. Forde got danced and took a seat on one of the forts, and was slept on enemy phase, which was unfortunate because it probably cost him his last level-up before promotion. Ross doubled and crit the boss for yet another notch in his belt. No Zanbato, which might make Forde sad, but Eirika has a ton of Rapier uses left. Ain't nobody got time for Cormag. >Forde promoted to Paladin Chapter 14: 9 10/97 Turns Gilliam went Southwest alone with just a Hand Axe, an elixir, and a pair of chest keys to grab the Energy Ring and Dragonspear. Rennac got a cool 10k to open 2 chests and a door (I later remembered I can't even use the Hammerne). Tethys helped quite a bit here, letting Rennac pull back after opening the door in order to avoid a penalty by him getting targeted by the Sleep staff, and generally pushing things along. Ross finished the boss with a Swordreaver. I went back to use the secret shop and give the boss kill to Forde instead. It only cost me a single turn to buy a bunch of killer weapons thanks to Tethys. Whether they actually will make up that turn later... 🤔 >Eirika used the Energy Ring that Gilliam went 'Leeroy Jenkins' for. My stash of Javelins is pretty low since I forgot to stock up before 14. Hopefully it isn't an issue, but that's probably wishful thinking... Anyways, I might start recording again for Chapter 15.
  14. Chapter 9: 9/67 Tana joins us! Ross swam down, got his Ocean Seal, and killed the boss and a bunch of other mooks along the way. Tana saved the Rapier, and Forde walked in on Rennac for the Dragonshield. Amelia's speedwing may have cost me a turn but whatever. Angelic Robe for saving both villages. Resource distribution: First Angelic Robe to Tana before starting 9, new one goes to Eirika. Dragonshield to Tana, and speedwing to Forde. Didn't promote Ross quite yet because he has 99 exp, and it won't help the next chapter at all. Chapter 10: 4/71 This was a bit of a nightmare, Tana not being level 10 means I can't use her Whip yet. D-lances means she can't use the Killer lance for the boss, and I had to really rig the RNG to keep her alive from the bows/ballistae and get Eirika to crit the boss twice with the Killing Edge. The other 3 just picked up meaningless kills for exp to the south, and all NPCs survived. I couldn't get the Lancereaver, but did pick up the Killer Axe. Chapter 11: 8/79 Fog of war rout map, not much to say about this one. Ross did his one-man-army thing and went directly south, promoting along the way. Tana reached level 13 and is ripe for promotion, Forde continues to underwhelm... all chests looted (even though I can't use the restore staff). >Tana goes Wyvern and gets the Secret Book.
  15. Chapter 8: 12/58 I might not record anymore since I can just go back through my save states to do summaries and screen grabs. https://imgur.com/gallery/TG1IYA2
  16. I know I'll probably get points for necro'ing this, but since I posted this myself under an alt, and this is still a top result on google, I thought I would clarify: These are codes for Gecko OS from the Wii HBC (running the game from a disc). There are no "activators". I have not tested these with Dolphin, USB loader or anything else.
  17. Chapter 7: 5/46 I forgot to record, take some screenies with captions:
  18. Colm is allowed to deploy and unlock things in Chapter 8 for everyone? @goldenblade
  19. Chapter 6: 5/41 Ross basically solo'd this one and made me look brilliant for giving him the dracoshield. He also got nothing but excellent level-ups all chapter long. I didn't even bother to trim this footage because I'm lazy to show how simple it really was. Keep in mind this is on Normal Mode, and Ross might not have even been out of Trainee on HM.
  20. Chapter 5x: 9/36 Whatever, I didn't even want that vulnerary anyways
  21. Chapter 5: 6/27 ooh boy, i cant wait to show you guys what i did in chapter 6!!
  22. haha, i actually have both GBAFE's on cart, couldn't play a draft without states though
