  1. I dunno about you but fixing Diarmuid is going to take more than a single Strengthening Quest. Just find solace in Saber Diarmuid (who is actually good). @Alexmender RIP. So I guess you're betraying Musashi then? Didn't I say something about this but I guess I can answer this once more: Is Caster Gilles F2P? *sees the story lock* *glances at Caster Cu, Bedivere, Taiga* I don't think so, no. Looking at the Rank-Up Quest I just realized that I have to ask @JSND Alter Dragon Boner a question: Dragon Boner?
  2. As promised updates to my list according to the new Rank-Up Quests. Changelog (02.06.19):
  3. You are also guaranteed to get carpal tunnel syndrome, paranoia about your AP and question all your life what you did during that particular Christmas. *flashbacks of Christmas 2018* I will say though this year's Christmas event has a pretty awful lotto. It has only 1 Bronze mat and it's a rarely used one while the Silver mats have reasonable drop rates from regular nodes. If you want to commit to a lottery with Gems Nero Fest is likely your best bet. Looking at your Servants you are guaranteed to profit because 2 of your SSR Servants require hundreds of Proofs. Enkidu monopolizes Chains and Knight Medals are aggravating to farm compared to most other Silver mats. Pages are a commonly used mat, too, and it's always good to have a supply of it once you get a Support Caster.
  4. Just doing Feather + QP farming until the event ends. afaik we don't get that many opportunities to farm those efficiently (screw farming on Okeanos) and the added amount of QP makes it more than worth it to spend all the natural AP on it. Besides if we get the X Downloads campaign we're getting half AP dailies + 2x success rate anyway so I will wait for that before I farm embers for my backlog (Karna, Suzuka, BB, Chacha, maybe I start raising my SRs). Though I might wait with that because JP got Hunting Quests alongside the campaign and the first 2 days are very interesting for me between Bones and Horseshoes. Arguably the 3rd one, too (which drops Hearts and Fangs). I still got 20 Silver and 71 Golden apples left so I should be able to stock up decently on those, depending on how many runs I can shove in each day. Question is when we will get this. Event will end on the 15th but FGO NA has a panel on the 18th. They might delay releasing it till then. EDIT: Serenes FGO - Friend Code IDs
  5. There is also the thing that stalling is regarded as inefficient. Why bother take 99+ turns to finish a quest if you can do it with 3? It's one of the reason why Quick is the "new meta" over in JP because Quick teams can produce an insane damage output due to Skadi enabling both NP loops and consistent Crits. Though this should not be taken as "stalling isn't viable" by any means. One thing that needs to be said about Holmes: In the enviroments he can be enabled there is noone who does his job better. Giving the entire team a 50%-100% Crit Dmg buff with a 30%-60% Def debuff is already good but making all enemies essentially naked is plain silly. He doesn't need help to enable all of this by himself and being untouchable against common gimmicks makes him pretty reliable, too. As good as he is that's also his biggest problem; being overspecialized. Once you step out of his comfort range he falls off a lot. Against enemies without heavy defensive gimmicks it's better to just rely on conventional Support as half of Holmes' kit becomes redundant and others can provide other benefits. That applies to about 90% of FGO's content, making Holmes simply not a good choice outside of CQs and not even all of those tend to stack heaps of defensive buffs to make him worth it.
  6. This game wouldn't feel as monotonous if it had regular events to break up the daily grind. The Bozel and Gerold&Layla ones were good examples of this but even then these events in retrospective do not give enough rewards to make them lucrative enough. Sure, you get crystals, gold, rainbow keys and SSR equipment on top of a free SSR but almost nothing for Soldier training or rank up materials which are the most time-consuming aspects for improving your heroes. It doesn't replace the daily grind it only adds to it which might make these even worse for the average player. The pitiful amount of drops from runs without the daily bonus doesn't help in this. Once you go 10+ on the Tier 3 nodes you only get progress after expending all of your daily bonus on a singular Aniki and even one level will astronomically increase the necessary grind. That's not acceptable. Grinding class mats is the same deal, except they do not even contribute to the daily missions. With every time rift unlocked it's only possible to sweep for rainbow materials 6-9 times and some of them aren't even guaranteed to drop. It eats a lot of stamina which can't be covered with the daily rations of burgers. So the only option for faster progress is to spend crystals which scale with each refill. Both of these are then further hampered by RNG. It's infuriating that you can possibly miss getting certain materials and waste the daily bonus on unnecessary drops. The worst part is this grinding is actually required. Unlike FEH or FGO it isn't just enough to reach max. level. You need to do all of this to have a chance in Timeless Trial and future content and that seriously adds to the annoyance. tbh I might drop this game, even before the ToS collab. All of these negatives definetly discourage further commitment to this game and even the CN side doesn't seem to offer any insight if the devs have improvements planned.
  7. Btw. since we're likely getting Rank-Up Part Sei next week-ish I'm probably going to update my F2P list (after leaving it to rot for 6 months) with these changes.
  8. Lies, you're capped. For this event it is required to clear the first story arc. I don't think you're that far into Part 1 judging on your support list and CCC is pretty difficult without properly leveled Servants. Either way I don't think you would have come far. At least you don't have to worry about story progress for most of the future events this year. May is pretty empty for the most part though I suggest you get your roster leveled till June because you probably want to clear Onigashima for a certain golden boi. ------- Cleared all the missions, done with the shop (no need for Scales, Shells and Prisms) now it's time to go back farming Dust and Proofs. I will farm EXP next week (if we get it, that is). Small PSA: If you need feathers this event does offer a fairly decent droprate for them in either Weakness Ear or Spinal Coaster. Considering we get the Prisma re-run in 2 years at earliest you might consider farming those for the last 10 days.
  9. Well, I will add 2 dishonorable mentions to this: Octopath Traveler - Final Boss Final Fantsy III - Cloud of Darkness
  10. You mean the Bond 15 thing? That came with the 3rd Lostbelt (SIN) so you will have to wait till the end of next year.
  11. Without properly assessing the Servant first (including team compositions) any comparison before is completely moot. Other than that, yes. Considering nowadays the majority of Berserkers are outclassed by many other options these are pretty bold statements to make. As far as I see it none of the current options can fix their inherent durability issue which stems from their class, otherwise they would be a more common sight for CQs. Reines is the only one who does something about this. Her use is ultimately limited to this single class but being narrow certainly doesn't make her by any means "trash". Does she need to be good in general? No. We already have the Card Casters and Zhuge Liang for that. Comparing someone who caters towards a niche to those 4 doesn't give you any information if the Servant in question is good. Gao is pretty much the only exception we have so far and that guy is busted. If anything her being a real alternative to Zhuge Liang within her niche should tell you that she can be certainly a strong pick and that should enough to be considered good. Well, this is already going nowhere. New record, yay. I think you and I have very different views about what constitutes as "good". Might as well leave it at that. Though just out of curiosity; if you would place her in your list what tier would she be? --------- So the Type X are the Rapunzels of this event. God damn it, DW, why? Wasn't once enough?
  12. That's a "Double Merlin + Gilgamesh beats everything so why bother with anything else" statement. Couldn't care less about that considering she is obviously competing with Zhuge Liang in a team composition not with Merlin or Skadi. Compared to him Reines' trade-off is lucrative. You lose the 50% Crit Dmg in exchange for far superior durability. Considering the whole problem with Berserkers in hard content is the latter, not the former, it's very well worth this trade since this will enable them to use their excellent burst damage more than once. The only two Berserkers who don't care about Reines at all are Cu Alter and Heracles because they want more damage over durability as their skills provide the latter plentiful themselves. If you expect her to be her general support like Gao or the Caster Quartet then obviously she doesn't hold up. On the other hand that's ignoring viable compositions and considering she enables some of the lesser Berserkers to function that's a far cry from trash. Compared to actual fails like Osakabehime or Miyu that won't work for life Reines has a niche and by that alone she is good, just not Merlin/Skadi tier (and that's good because quite frankly this game doesn't need anymore broken supports). Post-Strengthening Beowulf is another one with such tools.
  13. Wooo, I can attempt self-flagellation part 2. @Alexmender Did you clear the story? It might help as a catalyst. EDIT: I should read more carefully, my bad. ----- Looking at the Case Files Servants the ones from the gacha are imo pretty good. Reines' gimmick is tailored to Berserkers. She offers them a far bigger durability increase than any other Servant, essentially letting them have their actual HP value while adding Waver's Def buff and PfA Inv. edition on top of it. She has good enough NP gain to be able to upkeep this buff, too. It doesn't do much for other classes though unless you go against Berserkers to cancel out their effective damage. Her synergy with the class also plays into her favor regarding her own. Berserker go in 2 ways; either they don't care because they can't pull stars for life or they have EAM-like skills to flip her Rider status off. Granted she doesn't offer any buffs for stronger crits which limits her damage amp potential compared to Waver or Merlin with their buffs. Still, she should be a decent Support for those select Berserkers that can appreciate her negating their weakness. Far from Gao tier though. I only wish she had a better NP prop. 10/30 is a really awkward spread and while it still works for some teams a 20/50 would have made her a lot more competitive. I guess they didn't want to make too similar to Zhuge Liang (which didn't do her any favor). Astraea on the other hand takes Rama's kit and puts some serious steroids in it. Not only she does have his best skill (with the same CD) she actually has a super-powered Instinct to feed it and this skill doubles as her Mana Burst. Her Arts NP offers some decent refund and it has a relatively common trait bonus on it, thus dealing reasonable damage pre-interlude. Add to the fact that she has decent internals on a Ruler body Luvia is ... very good overall. There is really not much to critize about her.
  14. When you do the Whip-less version then sit through 68 turns of mindless repetition and think: Why am I subjecting myself to such torture? Well that was a waste of time but at least I experienced first hand how good Nightingale can be for such fights. Is there a way to replay the fight after the story? I missed the Whip version after all and that one seems harder if you don't purchase all the KP stuff.
  15. So, the Welfare is Gray (SR Assassin), gacha servants are Astraea (SR Ruler, Luvia Pseudo-Servant) and ... Sima Yi (SSR Rider). *internal screaming* Sima Yi seems to be the same deal as Zhuge Liang which is at least fitting considering their relationship. Also, she has a no damage NP which is ... interesting? Gray being not a Lancer though ... that makes no sense. EDIT: Her NP is AoE and inflicts Buster & Quick Resist down. Oh and Astraea is going to get along well with Quetz. She suplexes her enemies.
  16. So he says as he now dives into FGOxCCC event and DL. Truly a forsaken knight. Regarding your points, I very much agree. The daily grind is so tedious that I'm considering to drop the game if I don't get Lana next week (well ~200 tickets are going to make that a bit hard). Langrisser Mobile is a great game but the things it asks for you require dedication equal to a full-sized game. That's not something I'm willing to do for a mobile game with its very design leaving it without true goals to work towards to. I rather use that time playing actual games with set goals. My own suggestions would be:
  17. @DehNutCase @JSND Alter Dragon Boner for new nomimations.
  18. Now you are putting words into my mouth. ... what's the point of comparing a purely damage-based CE with 2030 which you are going to put on your Support anyway? Oh wait, you're assuming this: Someone had this discussion with you and I cannot be bothered to continue this one. How about you stop labeling MHX as a semi-support and address her properly as DPS? Because that's what you're describing; comps with 2 DPS + 1 Support. Did you ever bother to actually calculate their star gen? I think not because once her 3rd skill is accounted for they produce a similar amount of stars (e.g. for AQQ MHX gets ~23, Carmilla ~20). Obviously she has Star and her NP that ultimately puts her above Carmilla but as far as regular cards it's a small difference. It doesn't help that MHX has very average Arts cards and a QQAAB deck. The only real thing MHX has over Carmilla is pure damage but that comes from comparing SR vs SSR. Since you and I are likely not budging from this I'm not willing to continue this discussion. Reading your walls is, also quite frankly, too exhausting (no offense).
  19. 10 hits in terms of NP refund. I thought that much was obvious. Or if you want estimates it's about 40% refund with the NP effect (without potential overkill). I could ask the same of you. This entire sentence above is contradictive. If people have 2030 I would argue they are looking for supports with 2030 over Prisma Cosmos (unless it's Saberlot but w/e). A single 2030 doesn't do enough by itself. 2030's greatest strength is in its reliablity. 2030 + another copy/Innocent Monster produce about ~16-18 stars. Generally a Servant with focus (or Riders) only needs ~30 stars at most to crit with an entire Brave chain. Producing 12~14 stars is not that much, usually you can get it relatively safe, especially if you a quality Quick card in there. And that's the most expensive case. Usually you only get 2 cards for your Servant per turn which brings it down to 20. 4 stars are nothing. Even if with Arts cards you can get those. Then we have those bastards that produce 15 stars per turn but I digress. 20 turns is an absurd estimate and I don't know why you're bringing it up. It's more accurate to say that you will get 2 uses of Vampirism over a single Fire Support within 12 turns which is more reasonable to assume for longer fights. It's certainly more probable than freaking 16 turns to get the 2nd use out from MHX. If you solely look at MHX, yes. But I'm talking about the application in team settings in which case it's basically a Charisma buff against a single enemy. Also I'm starting to wonder what you're arguing for. You say you look at MHX as semi-support but aside from being an Assassin she doesn't offer anything else. Fire Support plain sucks. In comparison Carmilla has an entire set that benefits her and other party members with similar star gen. Internally she doesn't hold up in raw stats and actual star gen but she still retains respectable NP damage and NP gain.
  20. I don't see how this is relevant as: 1. Obviously you choose NPBB Crit for maximum damage because of Hero Creation. 2. Cleopatra is one of the few Servants with passive NP gain with Merlin further stacking it. 3. sustained damage isn't better or worse than the way Quick Servants operate who tend to be sitting ducks once their 3-turn buffs expire. That's strawmanning. Just because she is AoE she needs to be compared with other AoE but MHX gets the special treatment within her class? While I get why you're pulling this card it still doesn't put her in a favorable light. Cleopatra's new NP interlude gives her a very respectable niche in the AoE department. Of course, damage-wise she is no Gilgamesh, Raikou or even Dantes but she still has the best AoE among all the Assassins and AoE buff prevention is entirely unique to her. Meanwhile MHX doesn't even fare well in her own class. Jack kicks her in the gut in terms of pure internals and has functional skills while Kama does the whole NP loop shtick better. Both get a huge mileage from Skadi as well so she is completely outclassed being an ST Assassin. Oh, her Saber niche? We had this one before and I still think you are better off using an actual Archer than her. Her skill does not replicate class advantage. Sorry but it isn't convincing for me that MHX + Skadi is supposed to be better Cleopatra + Merlin.
  21. The problem is after landing that crit turn he doesn't do much and it doesn't help that his internals are very average. No doubt it is an advantage he has over Shiki but that and SSR stats is not that much, especially since as a Welfare that NP5 advantage is massive. Even at release I was not overly impressed by Old Li. In a vacuum, yes. But considering we're talking about them with their preferred support in mind Cleopatra being AoE is not that much of a detriment as she is a Buster-based Servant. Post-interlude Carmilla sits 31024 at NP1. At NP2 it's 38780 which trumps MHX in terms of neutral damage. She also has a much more common trait bonus so in terms of pure NP damage she is not lagging that much behind. The only thing I can concede is Carmilla not having a completely optimal support choice to put her over MHX + Skadi. She has the problem of having triple Quick deck and a Buster NP meaning she either loses the benefits of having a stronger NP turn or has to settle with her average Quicks. This might apply to Carmilla (see above) but I was talking about Cleopatra with Merlin. I think enough is said about this, no? Except it has a NP drain. Except it's Arts. Except it also has 10 hits. That's not a good example. This comparison downplays the fact that Fire Support has an asinine CD of 8 (at max) while Vampirism only has 6 and immediately affects the target. Not to mention Carmilla has another slight edge in Torture techniques for a general damage increase that will benefit the entire team.
  22. Even with Skadi in mind I would argue that both Carmilla and Cleopatra are a league above her. MHX isn't terrible but she is basically pure stats with an Interlude NP (as her NP has nothing worthwhile on it besides hitcounts). EDIT: Shiki's additional Def debuff scales with NP level, starting at 10% but capping out at 20%. *drops dead from euphoria* Why bother with Old Li, right?
  23. Welp, Shiki literally killed her competition ... and the stupid rule that Welfares don't get meaningful buffs. Kintoki buff, anyone? That additional Def down on her NP is ridicilous considering how easy it is to spam her NP over and over again. Well, he is slightly better at the virtue of having more hit counts on Buster & Extra, while having a higher rank in PSC. Scapegoat produces stars, too. His NP is also more defensive in nature since it drains NP gauge. But yeah, he is even more niche now. DW should just buff his NP gain to "normal" values so he can at least spam his NP reliably. That way he can differentiate himself as a more defensive option between Scapegoat and his NP.
  24. My wishlist for 2019/2020 is:
  25. First official look from the Persona event. Like P4G this version has a lot of new additions, including new places to visit, confidants and gameplay mechanics. Now we know why Joker has that Grappling Hook in Smash and the palaces seems to be redesigned to accommodate it (as you can see him zipping around Kamoshida's palace). It also features a new party member, Kasumi Yoshizawa, who is the girl appearing in the teaser. So her being the FeMC is pretty much deconfirmed. All of this new exciting content is ... PS4-exclusive. *thinking* JP release will be October 2019, World-wise release in 2020.
