  1. With Chrom's huge Atk stat, the Heavy Blade seal is a great option on him until you get a Breath for him. Especially if you do go with DC on him. Steady/Warding Breath makes the Heavy blade seal unnecessary, and imo, Breath skills the the best A-slot skill for infantry units. You should just bank on getting more fodder in the future. Besides, you are a long way off from +10ing Chrom. Definitely don't 4*+10 someone you plan to use long term unless you have over 20 copies sitting in your barracks. There is no sense in limiting a character's potential just because of a feather investment. Especially with how easy it is to grind for feathers now. On paper, and in the battle simulators, Berkut's is great, but in practice, I just never see an opportunity where I wished I had the build. Which is probably why I still haven't and don't have any immediate plans to give someone the build. In the case of Lukas, you have to sacrifice something. If he is a mixed tank, then all greens can bash his face in and even some of the more powerful blues could kill him, and Firesweep archers and Sacae's blessing can screw him up too. If he is a pure physical wall, only green dragons, blue and green mages, and specific builds of axe armors with buffs can kill him. I just think that Steady Breath is so superior to DC in terms of actual performance that I would only build someone with DC and Berkut's if they were unable to learn the Breath skills. Honestly, I see more value in using the Berkut's lance with a Breath skill to have a dedicated Dragon killer. Something you already have with Chrom. You have a chance to use my Lukas in Rival Domains yet?
  2. Thanks for the reference. Just broke the top 1000, a score of 107,947 is rank #995. I would say you have a pretty good cushion.
  3. @Zeo I added you. I just realized that I left Aether on Lukas from when I did my AA run. He is back to having Bonfire. Like Ice said, Chrom could run a Bond skill, Deathblow, or Fierce Stance if his main role is to 1-shot dragons. Something I just thought of is that Blade tomes can't be forged and therefore score lower. A forged Gronowl on Nino would probably be better for her in the long run. This would also allow you to run the safer and more reliable spurs and drives instead of being limited to buffs for Nino's bonus damage. Another added benefit is that Drives score better in the Arena. Great thing about her is that she is so slow that she can only double Lukas with Bold fighter, and even then she won't be able to kill him with 2 hits. She will charge his Bonfire and then promptly die on the following Player phase. Lukas can actually tank red mages due to WTA and his high HP. This is what is holding you back I think. You are looking at each unit as part of your specific 4-unit team. You should make each unit their absolute best version as an individual unit. Then you slot them into a 4-unit team based on your needs. Nino, Matthew, Chrom, and Lukas are not going to be your final and only team for your remainder of your time playing Heroes. Just because you only have 1 SB fodder now doesn't mean you won't get more later on down the road. Having role overlap isn't a bad thing either. It allows you to swap out certain units without having a massive void left by their absence. My AA team is Caeda, Nowi, Lukas, and Amelia. For normal Arena, I drop Amelia and I am currently running Ephraim right now. You would think that running 3 blues would be suicide with all of the super powerful greens out there but Caeda is more than enough to handle all of them, which allows for Nowi and Lukas to laugh at every other unit in the game. Ephraim is only there because he is +2.
  4. Just broke the 100k mark. 100,027 is good for rank #1295 The changes to TT have definitely made it more difficult to get into the top 1000. At this rate, 200k won't be enough to make it, and 20k per day has always been more than enough in past TTs. I'm going to keep pushing tonight to see how far ahead the top 1000 actually is. I should be able to close out today with over 120k.
  5. The most surprising thing about that to me is that they all have 35 HP. Of all the doubles I have seen, they have never had equal HP so to have all 4 with the same is quite rare.. The odds have got to be 1 in a trillion.
  6. LOL, yeah, they need to put a patch in to prevent multiples. That is definitely the first i have heard or seen of that happening.
  7. You do have Matthew and Nino for baiting ranged units... And honestly, The only ranged units I see in the +10 meta is like an 70/20/10 split of Winter Tharja/Halloween Jakob/Holloween Henry. Or the occasional Micaiah on a team that is utilizing blessings for that week. Now, with you running Nino and Matthew you will be in a slightly lower score range (like 4-6 points) so idk if there will be more ranged units in that range. @Ice Dragon - How often do you see ranged units when you run a full team of 170+ BST armors decked out with high SP cost skills?
  8. So I just went into the 10th Stratum for my daily battle to get Shards and Badges and my opponents were 2 Donnels and 2 Gordins. I know I've talked about how it seems to be a little too common to fight two of the same unit in the same map on the 9th and 10th stratums, but two doubled units at once? I feel like they should make it so that doesn't happen. The cast is large enough.
  9. When I do my 1 run of AA per week to get a high score, all of my units get max scoring skills swapped in like Aether/galeforce and dual rallies and all of their other skills are 240 SP (DC on Caeda and Amelia). So having Matthew and Ninos lower BST will most certainly prevent you from getting into the top 1000 in AA unless you got all 7 battles to have the upper score ranges. As far as I know, the way skills effect Arena score, is every 100 SP brings up a character's value by 1 point. Yeah, I decided to build Lukas because I pulled a +Def/-Res copy and I really liked the idea of a physically invincible unit. In hindsight, Donnel would have been the better long term investment. My problem was that I always looked at him with a Brave Lance build and I never to another look at him after refinements were introduced. Bonfire is kind of the point with the SB build. Every single one of his attacks is a Bonfire. My build allows him to take out all of the top tier melee threats except for Green dragons and some of the lesser used builds for the high Atk green armors. On a fort tile with rally and spur support, Bold fighter Green Grima, TA Fae , and Myrrh with enough Spd to double are the only melee attackers who can kill him. Having Chrom on your team will be a very nice answer to the Green dragons. Still waiting on that friend request. My ID is down below. Hey, with all of this Warrior Princess talk, would Windsweep/Watersweep help her out at all?
  10. Steady/Warding breath are IMO the best A-skills for Nowi. Fierce stance would be extremely good on her when paired with QR 3. All of the Stance/Breath skills are best used when you can double so either a very speedy unit or a unit with QR 3 makes the best use of them. I don't know what your team looks like but Freddy could make really good use of it with QR 3.
  11. @Zeo You absolutely want Lukas to be -Spd with either build you go with. The 2nd build is exactly how I have mine except Bonfire is the special you want, and I have Drive Spd 2 for the higher Arena points, and he is +Def/-Spd. I currently have Lukas set as my lead so you should add me and see first hand how that build works for you. Chrom has a super boon in Spd. If you want to run the DC build he can easily get over 40 Spd with his weapon's effect and hone/spur support. Otherwise you might want to go with -Spd since he will most likely be getting doubled anyway with his neutral Spd stat. For either build, 13 Res can be problematic. Aside from the questionable natures, both builds for both characters are great. If you only have 1 DC and 1 Steady breath fodder, then DC on Lukas would probably be you best bet to take advantage of Berkut's lance's +7 Res. Real talk, with that team you unfortunately won't be able to stay in the top 1000 for Arena Assault. Staying in Tier 20 in normal Arena should be easy enough though. After you finish your full team of +10s, you might want to invest in starting +10s of units like Nowi, Fae, Donnel (who can run the Berkut's DC build really well), Soleil, Draug, Gwendy, Sheena, and Effie for their higher BST. That way you can earn the top rewards for AA as well. My +10 team of Nowi, Caeda, Lukas and Amelia needs a good run to stay in the top 1000 for AA. It is so bunched up that 4 less points would take me from 800s to outside the top 1000. I love my Lukas, but I am pretty close to having to bench him for Fjorm's higher BST, and the option to hand out blessings. The only thing that has stopped me so far is that I don't know if I have the right base for her.
  12. Alts are completely natural for a Fire Emblem based game. FE 8, 13, 14, and 15 have branching promotion paths and 11 and 12 have reclassing so I would actually be disappointed if there were no Alts of characters. Besides, we need Caeda with a Wing SPEAR eventually... As long as the Alts are different enough from one another, I am all for them. Lucina/Masked Marth is the worst case scenario when it comes to Alts and the BK/Zelgius or Ike/L!ike cases are just way too similar to each other. I want my Alts to at the very least have different movement types (ie. Chrom and Ephraim) if not be a completely different weapon type altogether.
  13. Ah you're right. Now that I have done a few more runs I see that it does change the order a bit. Still, having just 7 maps is nice. None of them are too difficult to deal with. With 5 maps it is probably 1 of the first 2, and then 2 of the next 3 with the final 2 being the same.
  14. I really like the maps for this TTs, and it is nice that they are all in a fixed order. Lol, I checked with a team of 3* healers at Lv 1 with no way to attack, and it still said to try the weakest difficulty. It is now going to be permanently set to off.
  15. Well I have all of the bonus units except for Nanna. The bonus units scream "build horse teams!" but I'm guessing that the maps in this TT will be ill suited for horses. I will probably make all mixed teams and take advantage of Tactics skills and seals. I have a +1 Seliph from pity breakers, but his stats have always disappointed me. TT buffs will make him shine for a little while. I've pulled well over 30 Reinhardts and not a single one has been +Atk. He still puts in work for me in AA and he will be a monster in the TT regardless. My Quad Olwen is going to tear shit up with TT buffs. With all units receiving buffs for the first two battles, I am really tempted to make an Arden +3 Legendary heroes team so he can have 100HP. Does anyone know what seasons it will be during this TT?
  16. Is the majority of the human race really that devoid of logic and strategic thinking? My Team Sharena completely collapsed and only finished with 9 areas because people wasted their firepower on nodes we had zero chance of taking, and more importantly, we didn't want/need to take. Meanwhile the major chokepoints were left to be taken over. It doesn't help that I got distracted while doing a battle in the 17th round and finished 2 minutes too late which resulted in us not being able to keep a pretty important area. Anna - Anna - Sharena for 5 - 6 - 9 areas and 9,000 feathers total. I guess it could have been worse... Overall I really like this mode. It needs a few tweaks to the stamina situation. Although, had I known it was going to be like this I would definitely spend my Conquest Lances differently. I would say keep the recharge rate and the 8x per battle, but increase the total stamina to 16 with CQs restoring 16 instead of 8. The rounds definitely need to be made longer than 2 hours. Eleven rounds of 4 hours would be perfect IMO. I would say that the maps need to be balanced out a bit, but it really doesn't make that much of a difference in the end.
  17. Well the past 4 rounds saw us on Team Sharena to go from 25 to 8 areas... It looks like everyone is waking back up though as we are posed to take 4 areas back. I really hope we can re-establish our 3-node border and get back on top. Only 5 rounds left, this is when things start to matter.
  18. Yup mine as well. We had 25 just two rounds ago. We will most likely fall to 10 or less after this round unless someone steps up to be a hero in the next 15 mins. There are a lot of areas that are going to fall by 3,000 points or less and I don't have enough stamina to do much about it.
  19. Team Sharena just went from 25 to 14 in two rounds. It's ok though, we just need to secure our 3 main choke points again and everything will be fine. I just really hope the other people on my team know this. When I count up the "troops" on all of the nodes in the last couple minutes of each round, we have typically had 40-50 people we have checked in to at least "help out". Since there are a maximum of 200 people per team that means we have had about a 20-25% participation rate. I hope everyone at least checks in each round to "help out" as that can add up to giving a pretty big boost to those who are actually doing battles for the round. The earlier in a round the better. That isn't a great strategy. It won't help you at all if your team is backed up to their HQ and they are consistently losing areas by a small margin. At the very least, check in to help out your team by sending the troop. And in the final 20-30 mins of a round check to see how things are going and see if you can strategically attack a certain node to help secure more areas.
  20. Yeah, you definitely lucked out. Anna and Alphonse were pretty even but in my Outrealm, Sharena refused to attack Alphonse's border and we only finished with 6 nodes.
  21. Alphonse had the advantage on the second map, although it wasn't quite as good as Sharena's were.
  22. I take it you aren't on the Blue team. How were your payouts on the first two battles?
  23. Lol, it is actually 16 nodes (17 with the HQ) with only 3 borders. She can push 1 node North from the two nodes on the right and still maintain 3 borders. After being on Anna's teams in the first two battles, I am totally ok with Sharena's bullshit map advantage. Every map has had 1 team with a clear-cut advantageous position. Sharena just happened to get two of them. The fact that we are randomly placed in a team at the start of each battle just means that some people can get terrible luck all 3 times and some people can get the good luck. If each Team had an advantage in one of the 3 maps, and we stayed on the same teams in all 3 battles, I would be ok with the current maps.
  24. It is so confusing to be on the Blue team after being on the Green team in the first two battles. The plus side is that Sharena has the map advantage once again. Hopefully I can get the 20+ area rewards here. I think that 11 rounds of 4 hours would be much better than the 22 rounds of 2 hours. Two hours isn't very much time and being inactive for a couple rounds worth of time can see some huge changes take place. 11 rounds is more than enough to see things swing back and forth, and 4 hours gives a much bigger advantage when your team is able to score a knock-out, plus you would be able to play in the beginning of a round, sleep for 6-7 hours and then play at the end of the next round without missing anything. I got 5 areas and then 6 areas. 5,300 feathers out of a possible 14,000 so far.
