  1. I suppose that might work better, having it work like the temporary buffs your units can get from "How's Everyone"/Barracks. Let me try to revise my suggestion... If a unit falls in battle, then two of their stats should be nerfed by 2 points in the next chapter. (EX: -2 Skill and Defense) If they survive the next chapter (or if they aren't deployed at all), then their stats will return to normal. However, if they fall again while their stats are debuffed, then the stats will remain nerfed for the next chapter. I was originally going to say subtract one more point temporarily from another stat (like luck or speed), but maybe that's too much still.
  2. Since "Heroes of Light and Shadow" was released, recent FE games have included a Casual Mode, which means units beaten in one chapter will re-appear in the next chapter... Ignoring the fact that most players will usually restart anyway if a unit is taken down, should there be a harsher penalty to the player if they are playing casual mode, apart from not being able to use that unit for the rest of whatever chapter they are taken down on? What I was thinking is this: If a unit falls in battle, then some of their stats should decrease a little... kind of like leveling down. Sure, they might still be use-able, but they won't be as effective as they would've been if they hadn't fallen at all. Any thoughts on this?
  3. Considering FE6's paralogues involve getting the Legendary Weapons, would that be a good time for the returning FE7 units to come back?
  4. As far as thieves/assassins, I'm thinking either Jaffar, Volke, or Gaius. As for the other axe user, I'm at a loss on that one. I can definitely see Caeda being the Pegasus Knight rep, though I also think Elincia would be a close second on that one.... maybe.
  5. Either him or Linde. Maybe Lilina or Soren also.... Oh, and one more villain that might also work would probably be the Black Knight.
  6. As far as villains go, I'm thinking also Camus and possibly Michalis, Emperor Hardin or King Zephiel. Thing is, there's also a lot of dark sorcerers in the series, including Gharnef, Nergal, Manfroy, and Validar....
  7. Good question. I honestly think some heroes and villains from all the FE worlds would work best to be included. Let's see.... I think some of the more obvious lord choices would be people like Marth, Hector, Eliwood, Ike, Chrom, and Lucina...
  8. Do you plan on Robin us of victory? Don't expect any mercy Fir your actions!
  9. THIS. I would pay to see a Warriors style game using Fire Emblem characters. It would work wonderfully!
  10. I'll believe in Lyn/Rath and Hector/Florina even if it contradicts with whatever canon they throw out there.
  11. I Caeda puns everywhere.... and they're really Erk-ing me quite a bit. Are you Guys done yet? Siriusly, someone Stahl this thread, or you'll be feeling my Rath!
  12. Skirmishes first, then tower, then the current chapter. If arenas are present, I'll use them too. I stop using the tower once I reach the final floor.
  13. I usually trained Raven to wield the Regal Blade. It just requires an S Rank in swords to wield, and it can be used by any class that can use a sword.
  14. Thank goodness for that. Honestly, the fact that the game tries to steer me toward a pairing I disagree with makes me not like Hector mode that much anymore.
  15. Lyn with Rath - Because I don't believe Lyn would be happy in Lycia. And Sue has to come into existence somehow... Hector with Florina - The conversations are hilarious, and the fact that the one who's afraid of men can hook up with the manliest lord around is also funny.
  16. FE1/11: Player Phase (FE1), A Hero's Destiny (FE11), Come Join Us (or Together We Ride, whichever you prefer), Strike, Adversary, Leaps and Bounds, Clash of Two Virtues FE2: Alm's Player and Enemy Phases FE3/12: Advance, Dark Emperor, Reign of Despair Haven't played 4 or 5. FE6: Winning Road, In the Name of Bern, Sorceress in the Dark, Shaman in the Dark FE7: Companions, Softly With Grace, Unshakable Faith FE8: Truth Despair and Hope, The Prince's Despair FE9 (Haven't played, but I know the music): Rising Morale, Clash, Defensive Battle, Crimea Attacks, Decisive Attack, The Enemy Draws Near, Against the Black Knight FE10: Stalwarts Unite, The Black Knight Lives, Eternal Bond, March, The Devoted, Ideals Clash FE13: Id (Serenity, Sorrow, Return, Purpose), Conquest (Normal and Ablaze), Duty (Normal and Ablaze), Storm Clouds (Normal and Ablaze), ..........., Don't Speak Her Name!, Divine Decree (Ablaze), Monstrosity
  17. For me, the most memorable maps are as follows... FE1/11 Ch. 1: It's the very first map of the very first game. How could I not forget this one? Ch. 17: It's the moment you finally take back Altea after being forced out. It really felt satisfying to complete this mission. Ch. 20: Facing such a powerful opponent like Camus. It really made for an interesting (if tragic) story seeing Nyna want to see him live.... but hey, at least I get Gradivus out of it. FE3/12 Ch. 8: Aside from being a bit difficult (for me at least), it's when you realize one of your old friends is no longer who he once was. Ch. 14: When you learn that the foundation of the greatest kingdom/empire on the continent was all based on one big lie. (Well, in FE3 at least) Ch. 15 and 16: See Ch.17 in the FE1/11 section. Ch. 20: Seeing that one Earth Dragon in the lower left corner made me realize something was up, even as I approached the emperor to take him out. FE6 Ch. 10 and 11: I swear... getting all of the treasures that you can in the villages, recruiting new units, AND keeping their subordinates alive so you can get more goodies.... it was a freaking nightmare. Ch. 13: Seeing the king in action for the first time really tells you what you're eventually going to go up against.... Ch. 16: Taking down that smug snake of a wyvern general never felt so good.... Ch. 21 to 23: From facing the best and brightest of what Bern had to offer, all the way to the last remnants of a beaten kingdom.... lots of action to be had! FE7 Ch. 10: Fond memories of boss abuse. Ch. 16x: It's where I learned the joys of arena abuse! Ch. 19xx (Hector): It was when I learned there may have been more to Nergal than I thought.... Endgame: An intense boss rush, and later a clash with a massive dragon. That was going to be one for the memories! That's all I got.
  18. Not sure if this is an error from this patch or the translation, but I just did the tutorial.... and the rapier had no damage bonus against Bors! I'm worried that other weapons might've lost their damage bonus somehow.... EDIT: Just tried the Armorslayer against Ruud (Ch.2). It's damage bonus is also not there.
  19. Well, let's see... - I'm a shameless arena abuser... though I do it mainly for the money rather than the EXP. - I've never played the Judgral or Tellius games, nor do I really want to. - I've never played Shadow Dragon or Heroes of Light and Shadow. If I wanted to play those games, I'd stick to FE1 and 3. - I almost NEVER use pre-promotes, unless it's for support conversations I like. Awakening is the exception to this... - I don't care about tactician rankings when I play. - My first Fire Emblem game was Gaiden, and shortly after playing it and moving on to Blazing Sword and Sacred Stones, I was mildly confused... - I don't have the patience to train units of the Est archetype. - For the GBA games, I don't give most of my units any weapons that weigh over 2 points more than their CON Stat. Pegasus Knights and magic users are the exception. - In games where you are given ultimate weapons (FE6 or 8), I never use them until the final chapter. - I turn off the music in-game and pull up other video game tracks from Youtube when I play. - The only games that I use dancers in is FE3 and FE13, because they can actually fight. - In the early missions, I always bring a healer into the battle. - I always try to kill the boss in survival missions. GAME SPECIFIC Dark Dragon and the Sword of Light -The only Pegasus Knight I use is Sheeda/Caeda. Mystery of the Emblem - While I don't like any of my units dying, I'll turn a blind eye if Abel is killed, mainly due to his character ending. Sword of Seals - I use Merlinus.... and if that's not enough, I spend hours grinding him up to level 20 in Chapter 2, just so he'll survive future chapters. - I use Sophia, even if Ray may be superior. Blazing Sword - I have no problem with Eliwood. - I've never played HHM. - I once made it to "Sands of time", but then started all over once I learned how to get supports and learned to promote units at Level 20. - I spend hours doing boss abuse on Lundgren to buff up all my units (except Lyn), in Lyn's story. - Florina is my favorite Pegasus Knight in Blazing Sword.... and in the entire series. - I like pairing said Pegasus Knight with Hector, mainly to improve her offense. - I always fight Linus first in Eliwood's story, and Lloyd first in Hector's story. (Mainly because I play LHM before hand to grind up Wallace) - I give both Body Rings to Eliwood so he can use Durandal without too much loss of speed. Sacred Stones - I prefer Eirika's route over Ephraim's. - I am a frequent skirmish fighter and visitor to the Tower of Valni between story missions. - I don't use summoners, wyvern knights, or mage knights. - I always get Orson killed in the gaiden chapter. Awakening - I frequently use the Gold and EXP DLC maps to give myself an advantage, mainly to forge weapons and get the skills I want for the children. - While I do play 3 different files with different pairings, Chrom/Sumia, Donnel/Panne, and Ricken/Nowi are pairings I always go with. - I always make Gaius my Dread Fighter. - I don't use Tricksters, unless it's Anna. - I'm an eternal Casual in this game. - I always finish off the final boss.
  20. ....how do you determine the units you want to promote? For me, I don't promote until my units hit level 20. After that, depending on the game I'm playing, I check all stats and compare them between the other units of the same kind. For instance, Unit A has better strength, speed, luck, and resistance. Unit B only has better skill and defense by comparison. Thus, Unit A wins in 4 stats while Unit B wins in only 2 stats, so Unit A would get the promotion.
  21. Well, here's my list.... FE1/11: Come, Join Us; A Hero's Destiny; Clash of Two Virtues; Last Revels FE2: Alm's Player Phase; Celica's Player Phase; Alm's Enemy Phase FE3/12: Dark Emperor Hardin; Reign of Despair Haven't really heard 4 or 5's music. FE6: Winning Road; In the Name of Bern; Battle for Who's Sake; Sorceress/Shaman in the Dark (both versions) FE7: Rise to the Challenge; Softly With Grace; Companions; Unshakable Faith; Campaign of Fire FE8: Rise Above; Determination; Truth, Despair, and Hope; Land of Promise; Powerful Foe; The Prince's Despair; Ray of Hope FE9: Move Out!; Clash; Decisive Attack; A Mighty Foe; Rising Morale; Ike's Resolution; Crimea Attacks; Congregation of Ambition; Against the Black Knight FE10: The Black Knight Lives; Stalwarts Unite; Backsliding; Pray for Victory; Eternal Bond FE13: Conquest (both); Duty (both); Storm Clouds (both); Divine Decree (both); Id (Serenity, Sorrow, Return, Purpose); .......; Don't Speak Her Name!; Monstrosity Whew... long list....
  22. I don't care at all about turn counts, so I always make Gerik a hero. Besides, if I wanted a Ranger, I'd just promote Neimi into one.
  23. It's kind of a difficult decision every time I get statboosters... I generally apply them at the beginning of a battle, giving them to the ones with the lowest stats depending on the item. Though, for some items, like Boots or Body Rings, I usually give them to the Lord unit.
