  1. I'm a filthy shipper at heart and I don't give a damn about canonicity, so I'm limiting myself to four per world or my list would be utterly unreadable. I don't really care about pre-zany-fun-time Akaneia enough to ship anything but Marth x Caeda (and maaaaaaybe Caeda x Ogma), and I won't touch on anything shipped for pure gameplay, but as for the rest; Jugdral Ayra x Lex Leif x Nanna Larcei x Celice Tiltyu x Azel Elibe Eliwood x Hector x Lyn Florina x Lyn Lyn x Rath Isadora x Legault Magvel Gerik x Tethys Ephraim x Innes Eirika x L'Arachel Forde x Kyle Tellius Ike x Soren Elincia x Lucia Jill x Mist Mist x Rolf Ylisse Chrom x Sully Chrom x Vaike Lissa x Maribelle Severa x Kjelle Fuckknowswhere (Fates) Niles x Leo x Odin Kagero x Orochi Camilla x Selena Oboro x Takumi x Hinata Y'all are disappointingly straight tbh.
  2. Kellam The whole nigh-invisibility gimmick is funny maybe once or twice and then just becomes weird and unfunny and honestly makes almost everyone else seem rude. He does have, like, a couple support lines that don't focus on this at least, but he's overall too bland for me to really claim him as a favorite of mine. Still, he's inoffensively boring instead of straight-up agitating, and he's probably the bulkiest thief you could ever hope for. Say'ri Like pretty much everyone who suffers from Avatarsexualitis, she doesn't provide enough to really be compelling as a character. I still like what little we do get, though, and she certainly looks pretty cool; maybe it's just my fondness for female Swordmasters, but of the game's default Myrmidons/Swordmasters the outfit suits her the best in my opinion. I usually go to Lon'Qu for my Swordmaster needs because I like him better and he doesn't have like two supports, though. how many characters have i shown bias towards for the reason "they're a female x" at this point Basilio This guy gives me a bit more to work with than Say'ri if only because he's in the story scenes more than her, but my feelings on him are pretty much identical to my opinions on Flavia; neat, but underused. I guess the Warrior outfit is a bit odd, but he can pull it off. I honestly wish IntSys would stop providing interesting characters like him and then giving them a support pool as shallow as a puddle, especially when those characters have history with other members of the cast.
  3. Morgan So I don't normally go around touting my own opinion like it's a fact, but people who dislike the Morgans (especially female Morgan) are basically wrong and have bad taste. They're pretty precious and adorable, and I sort of like that they have somewhat different personalities and aren't absolute clones of one another. They're also by far the most insanely overpowered unit in the game, especially if their non-Avatar parent is a 2nd gen character (despite how weird doing that feels to me). Yen'fay Yen'fay kind of perfectly encapsulates what a massive load of wasted potential all the Spotpass characters are, and why having some characters with such cripplingly limited support options compared to the massive pool everyone else gets is stupid and bad. I do find it interesting that he's a Yen'fay from another dimension instead of just being resurrected for no reason, but the fact he can't support Say'ri (or anyone but the Avatar really) pretty much takes that interesting bit of potential and throws it straight in the garbage. I don't hate him, but he disappoints me. Donnel He's a cute little country mouse and a perfect dad for Nah. Another fairly simple character, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing. He grows pretty quickly as a unit, too, though by the time everyone's hitting their caps he's nothing too special anymore.
  4. Here we'll trudge through a woodsy area full of evil cultists and be granted a number of incredibly overpowered items, at least one of which is plot-related! Chapter 10 Part 3: The Forest of Evil
  5. Sully I kind of love Sully a lot, even if her design includes that awful toilet-shaped neck armor. Pretty much my go-to pick for Chrom's spouse. I don't appreciate how the game has her talk about people dismissing her because of her gender while simultaneously showing absolutely no one doing anything of the sort, but frankly that's just bad writing so I don't hold it against her. I pretty much loved her from the second she showed up and shut down Virion. Stahl Eh, he's not too exciting but he's got a few cute supports. Like Sully, I'd like his design better if he ditched the toilet bowl. It's ultimately not such a bad thing that he's fairly stable and normal given how wacky everyone else can get; like I said with Lucina, you need at least a couple "boring" characters in a cast like Awakening's. The favoritism I show towards Sully means I rarely have much for Stahl to do except be Severa or Gerome's dad, but at least he makes good parent fodder.
  6. Priam I kind of don't care about him, to be honest. The most I can say about Priam is that I hate how his arrival briefly revived all those annoying shipping wars and arguments about Tellius canon, but since that doesn't really have anything to do with Priam himself I can't hold it against him. I guess he looks kinda neat, at least? Noire My darling child whom I adore above all others. A wonderful unit and a wonderful character who deserves infinitely better. I don't know why she starts as an Archer since she's better off as a Dark Mage, but Noire as a Sniper looks very fashionable so it's not all bad.
  7. Yet more mysteries of FEBinary have been unveiled! I suppose if Anna's turned to thievery in recent games it only makes sense her boyfriend's an outlaw too. Implying I'm a "great artist" is the funniest thing anyone's ever said to me. With all that nonsense we dealt with last time out of the way, it's time to clear out the southern half of Miletos and get one step closer to home. Read this totally mistake-free update and enjoy! Chapter 10 Part 2: Anti-progress
  8. Panne I like Panne, even though I'm not big on Taguel as far as gameplay is concerned. It's hard to put into words what makes her enjoyable to me, I guess I just have a thing for stern warrior types, especially if they're ladies. I find it hard to fault the racism when her backstory involves genocide, though that really needed to be explored at all to be compelling; as it is, the game sort of forgets about it almost immediately after bringing it up. Severa Another character who attracts an incredible amount of vitriol that I just can't bring myself to direct at her. The whole tsundere thing is undeniably an overplayed archetype, and Severa can push it to an unpleasant extreme, but I can sympathize with her enough that it doesn't come across as terribly grating most of the time (keyword being most). It helps that her and Brady's supports with each other are kind of wonderful, and pretty much anyone who has a good support chain with Brady gets points with me. Like Inigo, she ends up being more enjoyable to me in Fates, but unlike him I didn't find her a wearisome test of patience in Awakening.
  9. Libra Among my favorite characters overall, despite my feeling that the "lol he looks like a girl" thing is just a bit eye-rolling. My biggest complaint is that my favorite S-Support options for him (Tharja and Maribelle) don't give much to their respective children, Libra x Maribelle in particular providing almost nothing that Brady doesn't already have. In general I wish he didn't have Priest-Mage-Dark Mage because that's just horribly redundant and unnecessary. Anna There's no denying that she's pretty strongly tied to her gimmick overall, an issue that's exacerbated by only having two support partners... but I still like her anyway. It helps that her supports are both genuinely funny, and that she's got such a kickass design. My only wish is that she had more support options, as that really limits her usefulness in a lot of ways.
  10. Miriel I like her to some extent, though there's no denying Awakening has both deeper characters and more dynamic and entertaining ones. Since I'm not a huge fan of Tharja and Henry, I tend to let her go Dark Mage when I do use her, but ultimately I usually end up leaving that to her son and/or Noire. Bit of a shame, really, but I do like her big floppy mage hat at least. Gaius His gimmick isn't one I find especially charming, but unlike a lot of people he isn't quite so strictly tied to it and is allowed to branch out a bit more. I'll admit I tend to gravitate towards using Anna as my thief over Gaius simply because I like her more, but he's a perfectly fine character and objectively a better unit if only because he's got a broader support pool. I do feel bad for always marrying him to Tharja, though, but someone's gotta give Noire access to Galeforce.
  11. Here I am coming in insanely late. I jammed everything into spoilers so my post doesn't take up an absurd amount of space. Walhart and Lucina Aversa and Lissa Flavia and Sumia Gregor and Henry Nah and Vaike Brady and Yarne Cherche and Frederick Inigo and Virion Kjelle and Tharja Gerome and Cordelia This took so fucking long to type and I nearly deleted it all at one point by mistake.
  12. The woes of being a dancer's kid. Still, I'm not expecting him to tank, just to not go down like a chump when something looks at him funny. God, I forgot how fucked you could make the pairings in FEBinary. Glad I could help complete your family tree from hell, I suppose. :P Not a whole lot happens this time around, but we do discover an annoying enemy spell with a deadly buff, and we hand the Balmung over to a new host. Chapter 10 Part 1: Portraited pirates pose perpetually present problem
  13. I find it sort of hilarious some people are still voting in the poll, given that the Joha-brother decision has long passed us by. I guess they're hoping I can bring poor Johalva back from the dead! This'll be a short one, mostly odds and ends that didn't fit into the last post. After that, we move onto Miletos! Chapter 9 Part 5: For Corple's Sake
  14. Sorry that took so long! I have no excuses. I ended up falling just shy of finishing Chapter 9 this time around, but oh well. Let's see what Areone's got cooked up for us! Chapter 9 Part 4: I wasn't kidding about the Partia 2 reference
  15. I'd be all for Gaiden getting one. Much as I like it on its own merits, it's aged pretty badly and could use some freshening up. I'm ambivalent on everything else, as I don't think any other game really needs a touch up the way Gaiden does, but I wouldn't be against it so long as they didn't do pretty much everything that made New Mystery so aggravating to me.
  16. FE1: Minerva FE2: Matilda FE3: Feena FE4G1: Briggid FE4G2: Patty FE5: Mareeta FE6: Echidna FE7: Serra FE8: Lute FE9: Titania FE10: Meg FE11: Norne FE12: Maris FE13: Flavia FE14B: Rinkah FE14C: Elise TRS: Sierra I tried to make it so the remakes/sequels got characters whose first appearance was in said game.
  17. None of this is a surprise to me; Konami has been tarnishing its franchises with garbage games like Silent Hill Downpour and Castlevania Judgement for quite a while now, so the fact it's Metal Gear's turn to suffer the same isn't too shocking. The only bit I'm honestly surprised to see is that anyone has even the tiniest sliver of faith in this, or in Konami itself.
  18. For New Mystery of the Emblem, I have to say that I love how you could customize your Avatar's outfit, and it's disappointing that that completely disappeared in later Avatars. I also like how you could pick your starting class, as opposed to picking a secondary one and having to switch over (like in Fates) or just getting access to all of them (like in Awakening). Also, I dig Dice and Malice/Maris, even if they aren't particularly great units.
  19. Today, we fight a usurper of a tome very near and dear to us all, and a certain general discovers his hidden noble heritage. Chapter 9 Part 3: Wind of the Forrest Knights
  20. He did indeed. Valkyrie's sort of special compared to the other Holy Weapons- you need Major Blood to use it, and it gets inherited unlike most of the others. I've been noticed by a celebrity! I'm glad you're enjoying my LP, especially since yours was so excellent. I was paranoid worried mine would end up too similar to yours, so I'm relieved to hear they're sufficiently different that this one's not just some shoddy clone. Also the Tahra thing actually makes a lot of sense now that I think about it. Learn something new every day! The next bit of Chapter 9 is coming soon, sorry for the wait! It should be up tomorrow.
  21. In a rare turn of events, we slaughter everyone guarding a castle but then don't immediately take it over. A remarkable show of restraint for our young conqueror! We also have a ton of dragon riders coming to try and take our castle, though, so don't panic, we're still in familiar territory. Chapter 9 Part 2: Naptime in Kapathogia
  22. I'd be all for something like this. I hated how so many characters in Fates got stuck with ugly blue palettes and generic armor if you bothered to play with the class system at all.
  23. I absolutely did and then I deleted it shortsightedly after clearing Chapter 8. We've got no less than 8 promotions to look at today, and quite a bit of inventory management besides. Chapter 9 Part 1: Patty's Promotion Palace
  24. I never actually tried that (I've only gone with Baron!Celice once), but I'd assume so. Then again it's possible the Holy Weapon unlock doesn't apply to it, since it doesn't apply to the Valkyrie staff. You learn something new every day. Thanks! I was gonna have the first part of Chapter 9 out today, but Imgur is being dumb right now. Hopefully it'll be up tomorrow!
  25. I'll keep complainging about Imgur's awful new update in strikethrough until somebody posts something because uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuugggggggggggghhhhhhhh This time around, we escape from Chapter 8 altogether, but not before discovering some unusual foes from a faraway land standing in our way. Chapter 8 Part 4: Archanean Artillery
