  1. Yes. I'm very welcoming to  more interesting settings. It can work in a Gaslamp or Renaissance, dark fantasy set with a lot of suspense.

Final Fantasy VII was first written as a detective story in which the  pieces are fixed together as the plot progress, and later it was adapted into sci fi, and is considered one of the best stories of the franchise. Fire Emblem could do something like that but reskinned into a historical fantasy 'horror' set.

I wouldn't mind a horror-style Fire Emblem, so long as it leaned more towards a Castlevania influence and not a gory Resident Evil/Dead Space/etc. influence. I think more of a "gothic horror/suspense" kind of a thing would work well. I don't think I'd want any kind of church/religious involvement, it'd predictably go to "ew religion corrupt" like a lot of RPGs tend to do and it's tiring, old, cliche and grating at this point. Beast units would be perfect for this, though, imagine actually having werewolves in your party.

Also this. I wouldn't like to  fight mindless monsters most of the game, or another church is evil plot. Also please, not another vampire x humans cliche plot though I wouldn't mind vampires being playable characters and being a subplot if the story don't revolve around it.

I'd like to nominate a new contender for this title, among the heroes at least. He didn't beat his kids, so the villains have him beat, but... this guy's still pretty horrible. And it's funny, because you'd never know it unless you pick a rather sub-optimal pairing:

    Claude, from FE4.

His conversation with Aideen reveals that he knew, in advance, that what happened in Chapter 5 was going to happen, and that he was going to die. He then chooses to court, marry, and impregnate a woman, knowing full well the entire time that he's going to die mere hours after she gets pregnant, leaving her to give birth to and raise his children all alone in a fascist dystopia he did nothing to stop because he simply accepted it was his "destiny". He literally lied to and manipulated a woman, most charitably in order to pass down his holy bloodline, and only has the tiniest niggling suspicion that he was remotely in the wrong.

    Here's the conversation, for reference:

    Claude:
“Adean, this is to be our last battle.”

    Adean:
    “Yes, that’s what everyone’s saying.”

    Claude:
“Here, you should have this. Help our young soldiers with it.”

    Adean:
“Oh, this is a Rescue Staff. Why me?”

    Claude:
“I have yet to speak a word of this, but you being my wife, well… I should probably tell you. This war will end in our defeat. All that is important to us will be lost.”

    Adean:
    “…What!?”

    Claude:
“I, too, had a difficult time believing the Lord’s words when I was at Blagi Tower. But this is how fate will have it. I also will not likely survive. That’s why I’m entrusting this staff to you.”

    Adean:
“That can’t be true! I don’t believe any of what you’re saying!! Please… tell me it’s not true!”

    Claude:
“Adean, there’s really nothing to be scared of. My death is really just a new beginning. As life embraces death, that with form is lost, yet something still remains. There’s nothing to fear in death. It is merely a transition to a more perfect form.”

    Adean:
    “But Claude…!”

    Claude:
“Just as I am to die, I shall also be reborn. Look, inside of you is a brand new life and I am a part of it. And that is why you must keep living.”

    Adean:
“How could you! You tell me to keep living while you…”

    Claude:
“Adean, I have been blessed to have met you. Forgive me if I have sounded insensitive.”

    Adean:
    “Claude…”

Yeah and just one random detail to add to that: Edain and all Genealogy characters have two children, so unless Lana and Lester are twins, she was already a mother and Claude impregnated her - or his other possible wives - again.

Maybe he wanted to leave his bloodline alive because he was aware he would die?  Some people think like that even today, despite being a extremely selfish and flawed mindset

  3. * Dagger user lord. It can have a secondary weapon, hopefully white or dark magic. The concept fits if the lord is a commoner.

    * Pegasus rider lord with lances. For sure a female lord.

    * Shapeshifter lord that can use a weapon when not transformed. Unlike Corrin, the beast form is the focus of the class. He/she becames really strong when shapeshifting but is an average unit when not. Can work in a game set on Tellius, if they ever return to that continent.

I thought I already answered a similar topic so not sure if I am repeating myself. But those are the classes that I'd like to see in a lord.

  4. I think they bath more frequently because of magic and what not. So they can develop technology for bathing through spells, especially if water spell is a thing. Probably they don't shower everyday but they are not that stinky or have serious health problems due to lack of hygiene. Not to mention that magic is a better medical system than the Medieval doctors in real life. Cynthia is just sloppy imo

Though I say again, by removing the historicism, it becomes relatable to us and doesn't require three courses in Medieval European History for us to understand. That isn't a bad thing if FE isn't trying to be historical, and it isn't, it's fun fantasy setting and little else. So who cares if everyone is bad odors-free and Bern Castle isn't an unbroken carpet of dog excrement because Zephiel finds canines infinitely more honorable than Man?

Well, this is an easy one. They use the dogs excrements as fertilizer. The real problem is the human dirt and horse's dump in the cities. Capitals like Ostia, Ylistol, Enbarr etc... for sure stink. This is the only real Fire Emblem sanitary problem that probably is a thing, that is correlate to irl historical issues.

Yo, you know what be really cool? If there was a game where Fire Magic was actually really good. In Horse Emblem, the most important thing about a unit is that they have movie. In this game, the most important thing would be access to fire magic. Wouldn't that be crazy? Man, it'd be insane. You could call it "Fire Emblem" or something.

Stone Age Fire Emblem. They are are all grunting cavemen discovering Fire. Dragons are now dinosaurs.

  6. In future games, I can see Bow knights turning a promotion to Hunter, higher  moviment, skill and speed, lower strength and defense.

Archer and Sniper being of the same class tree, foot locked bow user, but stronger and can use long bows. I think bows should always reach more than two spaces but longbows could get an even wider range but lower accuracy.

I don't understand why your base can't just be a bunch of random tents (or just a series of menus). Returning to the monastery between every single chapter was super jarring, especially combined with the calendar system.

The base can be barracks easily. Depending of the setting, the returning base would change.

I don't see monastery/church set returning again, unless they release a direct sequel or prequel to the Three Houses.

Lastly, Byleth and Sitri are named after demons from the Ars Goetia. Notably, Sitri is the twelfth demon listed and Byleth is the thirteenth; in Three Houses, Sitri and Byleth are respectively the 12th and 13th vessels of Sothis. If this naming scheme carried over from the previous vessels, then the first would be named Bael, the second would be Agares, and so on.

So it's possible to assume that Sothis original name was Bael, Bel or any variation of the first Goethia demon

  9. Three Houses story is one of the best of Fire Emblem and the quality of writting should be the base for future games.

But in future games there should be more restriction in classes by unit, and better, more strategic maps. Bases should stay, but make it a bit more dynamic.

Avatar can stay too, except in remakes, but don't make them the self fulfillment protagonist. Just make them the basic concept of 'my unit' and focus the plot in the lord. It's possible making an avatar without them being the focus of the story. Also if next avatars are silent, give them voice acting at least in conversations, and provide diverse quote options with different traits to customize their personalities, instead of making them canonically stoic.

Remaking Genealogy of the Holy War isn't easy because I think everyone would want something different from it. Some people would change almost nothing and just give it voice-acting and a graphical update. Others would change it to such a degree that the game would be totally different. I personally lean towards changing only a couple things like adding a rescue command, a few more talk conversations, maybe having battles inside the castle when you want to siege it and of course updating the presentation. But it's pretty clear that this isn't what most people would want. Some would like to add supports which is something I'm absolutely against because they will likely take the modern approach of everyone has to romance everyone (except Quan, Ethlyn, Sigurd & Deirdre for obvious reasons) which generally results in bad/forced supports.

But Genealogy is a game that everyone can romance everyone, except the canon pairings. I see no problem adding supports because Thracia and Genealogy cast really need characterization.

  11. Well, it's better this way, honestly. In universe though, probably it's because Arachneans were sexist so few women tried to use the sword, plus Elice didn't have the requirements to hold Falchion, exactly like Lissa or Lucina's sibling used to think.

As for the Holy Blood and Weapons of Genealogy of Holy war, my headcanon is that the whole cast have the blood of the Jugdral families in their family tree. It has been milleniums after all, so it's not so crazy that their descendants would be spread around the world to the point of forming cities or making entire royal families. Particularly I always interpreted that the 12 kids of second generation of Awakening are a direct reference to Genealogy.

  12. Make Mark a full fleshed avatar like Robin, but don't make Mark's story so 'intrusive' to the plot. Mark can have a side arc, and a mysterious but somewhat fleshed background but that's it.

The female version would need to have a girl name, maybe Marcella or Marcie which can be considered gender swaped versions of Mark, mirroring Byleth names in Japanese .

Also add supports with everyone that is pairable  because of the pairing system. Honestly I wouldn't mind if Mark is deleted from the game but turning him a full avatar will help the sales in a business perspective, so that's what I think will happen if a remake is ever done.

I'm curious; why do you think it's unhealthy and boring?

Because she has a crush on Byleth that is similar to Faye, Ninian and Tharja. It works in her own route, but looks creepy in the other three routes in which she rarely interacted with 'professor' (blushes). Also, had you noticed that it's always the girl that has an unhealthy crush in the avatar or main character? Dimitri and Claude don't have kawaii moments of being embarassed and drawing sensei and having a crush for whatever reason *.* Couldn't a female be strong without being also pushed as a love interest in this franchise?  Also this:

To be honest, I don't like AvatarxLord ships period. ChromxRobin, RobinxLucina, CorrinxAzura, etc. I quite frankly hate them all.

To me, it's just cliche and boring to pair up the character meant to represent you with one of the main Lords. I honestly prefer to give the side characters time to shine in that regard.

I prefer pairing avatar or Lord with side characters because it often makes the most interesting, fleshed story. In a game that gives me options why would I chose the most cliche, forced options? Because of developers bias? No thank you, I prefer to chose what makes a more interesting, well written story.

  14. Eliwood is the canon husband of Lyn. End of story, Roy uses a sword and Lyn uses a sword too

    Sue's mother is Sacae itself.

It's possible to make babies with nature, all you have to do is lay down in a remote, pristine place and open all your senses to the environment. Eventually, nature will know you, take you, embrace you, and wash itself over you, at the end of the experience so brief yet endless, you'll awake. You'll discover a newborn clad in its surroundings, in Sue's case the sod of the plains, within a three-minute walk of current location, they may cry to indicate their presence. Genetically they will be 50% yours, 50% numerous nature-induced mutations (enough to make the chromosomes equivalent to that of a total stranger in degrees of consanguinity) in the other half of your chromosomes which the child inherits, including the possible conversion an X to a Y or vice versa for a male nature-copulator. The child will be no different from an ordinary functional human, but nature will not pay for child support.

You forgot the most important detail: Rath got pregnant by the nature and gave birth to Sue alone!

    -

Seriously, come one guys, Lyn can marry Hector, Rath, Eliwood and Kent, she has suggestive ending with Florina, all possibilities are equally canon. Anything else is you all just stating your preferences and forcing your tastes, sometimes in a disingenuous way.

  15. Eliwood x Fiora Their backstory of the being from different social classes and defy the class system together, raise a son that expand their ideals by uniting people of different species like dragons is more interesting than helpless damsel in distress marrying a nobleman. Honestly I don't understand why this is not more popular.

Eliwood x Lyn I know that Hector is considered the more interesting and hotter lord but Eliwood with Lyn is a completly fine, cute ship. The fact that I'm not fond of Ninian as a character and don't like her as Roy's mother ( it doesn't make much sense) helps me liking Lyn better.

Arden x Edain (and everyone) Arden needs all the love of the world and I find him particularly great with Edain even if my first thought was to pair them because he was among the few that can pass bows to her son. Edain having a lot of guys interested on her and choosing Arden is hilarious but heartwarming at the same time

Chrom x Sully: She has the best conversation with him of all his love interests. She is the only pair that don't make Chrom utterly stupid and here says someone that despise childhood friends romances. Not that he has many interesting romances but she is definitely his better written love interest. I also think she would make a better queen than Olivia, Sumia and maybe Robin.

Roy x Cecilia, Sophia, Sue : Honestly way more interesting than Roy x Lilina which is another concept of extremely boring and cliche pairing. Roy marrying Sophia particularly seal the concept of Binding Blade story. Roy x Cecilia is particularlt an amusing but also great ship because they learn with each other.

Leo x Charlotte I find their conversation way better than Xander x Charlotte and she seems more genuinely smitten with Leo than Corrin, both who are are her most popular ships . I think it's not the most popular becaus to she produces a weker Forrest.

Azura x Keaton, Kaden or Arthur I used to find her boring but she is quite nice when interacting or marrying the funny extroverted characters, they bring the best side of her.

Eirika X Saleh: He is the best love interest for her. He guides her to self instropection  to became a wiser person.  I think he is the only one that completely cares for Eirika as a person instead of for what she represents.  I never did Forde X Erika though so I can be wrong.

Byleth x Ferdinand is particularly adorable and their S rank is hilarious. He is a good boy

Byleth x Shamir less underrated than the ship above but I see few content of them.

Honestly there's a lot of interesting ships that are underrated because they aren't lord x Avatar or is some ship in which one character isn't shoved in your face.

  16. Lyn's game was the first to come to west, so there's the nostalgia factor. For some, she is the first lord and she is a good looking female with bare legs and big breasts. Also while her personality is nothing innovative or special, she doesn't have any facepalming moment, she is not offensive in any aspect.

Ike is because of Smash and his games didn't sell well back in the day it was released but now it's considered one of the best stories by the fandom.

  17. Hm... I will put mostly the characters that I think would make a nice or amusing team regarding their personalities and stories. If I'm considering pure force the list would be different though

Avatar: A dagger user lord (as its the only weapon/class not listed below)

    ------------

Lord: Lyn (she is one of the nicer ones that I wouldn't mind following)

    Mercenary: Saber

    Myrmidon: Joshua

    Thief: Daisy

    Fighter:  Charlotte

    Brigand/Pirate: Brigid

    Cavalier: Mathilda

    Armor Knight: Bors

    Footlock lancer: Ephraim

    Archer: Neimi

    Bow Knight: Shamir

    Pegasus Knight: Fiora

    Wyvern Rider: Seteth

    Anima Mage: Saleh

    Light Mage: Serra

    Dark Mage: Henry

    Mounted Mage: Cecilia

    Cleric/Priest: Manuela

    Troubadour: L'Arachel

    Dancer: Laylea

    Trainee: FERDINAND VON AEGIR

    Manakete: Adult Tiki

    Beast Unit: Keaton
