sadly haven't gotten to playing it yet, don't have a PSP/Vita and the emulators for those are trash on a lowly Mac user like myself

I feel you. It's a really great game, the writing is superb.

Imagine if Matsuno helped with a Fire Emblem title, that'd be a pretty neat timeline to live in.

YES. VERY YES. ALL 100% OF MY YES. Saldy it won't happen because he's not freelance.

Honestly I would say credible. As far as I know, they are a rather respected member over at r/fireemblem so unlike a simple nobody or troll who spread the old castlevania fe leak ages ago, they have something to lose, that being the respect they have in the fe community (at least on reddit).

Obviously we should still take everything with a grain of salt regardless as the informant they are getting info off could be lying to them or they could have just randomly decided to say fuck it and make up a fake leak.

So this could be someone who know's what they're talking about. Oh boy.

Someone asked what was meant by subpar, and the poster said it was just how one of the sources personally described it. So I’m pretty sure the poster doesn’t even know what is meant by it.

That's odd. Well, I hope that's not the case, because if Three Houses gameplay is actually as "subpar" as claimed, that supposed story better be as good as said it was, because that's a huge bummer.

  4. Well, I like them because their the only infantry unit that wields a lance. Swords has Mercenaries and Myrmidons, and Axes have Fighters and Pirates, but the Solider is the only infantry lance unit. Besides, not many FE games have them as playable units. I'd love for another lord to wield a lance again like Ephriham, and Claude looks to be that.

  5. I'm not super hyped for E3 this year, or really any years honestly. That doesn't mean I'm not looking forward to anything though:

    • Smash Bros DLC Character Reveal (The Big One-Fingers Crossed for Doom Slayer ;):)
    • Fire Emblem Three Houses
    • DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!
    • Shin Megami Tensei V. C'mon Atlus, come through for us!
    • Bayonetta 3

And if I'm really, really, really lucky:

    • Ninja Gaiden 4.
  6. So, what does everyone think about the idea of a "Fire Emblem Maker" similar to the Mario Maker titles? I'd be all for an FE game where you can create your own maps with the characters of  the previous Fire Emblem titles. I doubt it would happen because of how much effort it'd take, but IIRC Advance Wars had a similar feature in one of their games.

What about you all? Would you be cool with an FE Maker? Do you think it's possible?

  7. I almost certain that a lot of us here love Fire Emblem in some way. But outside of it, what is another JRPG series you really enjoy in addition to it? Basically, what is your favorite JRPG series if you couldn't pick Fire Emblem?

For me, the answer goes to Atlus's Shin Megami Tensei. Pretty much everything about this series is awesome. From the post-apocalyptic setting, to the philosophical writing, to the challenging gameplay. I'm a huge fan of the post-apocaylptic, and SMT does that really well. It was a breath of fresh air seeing as how most of the genre is generally fantasy theme (Final Fantasy, Tales of, and Fire Emblem for example.) I also liked how the story went for a more philosophical approach with it's writing. Not that there isn't anything wrong with "fantasy adventure centered mostly around friendship", but I generally gravitate towards stories that story approach. And finally, I love SMT's gameplay, as it is the perfect turn-based moster JRPG out there. The Press Turn System is amazing, and the demon designs are amazing.

My favorite of the bunch is SMT IV, and I also really enjoyed Strange Journey, Nocturne, and II (despite it's age).

  8. Well, if Avatars absolutely must be a thing form now on, I'd probably handle them in the same way as titles such as Fallout and KOTOR did, that being let us build the character of the Avatar by our decisions and actions throughout the game. Robin and Corrin weren't Avatar characters in the usual sense, but rather their own poorly defined characters. But if you ask me, if the Avatar character in question is pretty much a mute controller by our actions like Byleth is going to be, how "good" they're going to be is really all up to how the writing of the whole game is going to be.

Hey, anyone heard the Google theory? The one with Ryu Hayabusa and Banjo-Kazooie?

I have. The answer to my thoughts on it lies in your profile :P:.

But in all seriousness, I wouldn't trust it. It's very interesting to see, especially that Artorias was one of the characters that had that ad whenever he was searched with Smash Ultimate DLC, but this could, like most leaks and theories, end up being nothing.
