It’s a little thing called nuance. Most of the shepherds trust him because Chrom, Emmeryn, Lissa, and Frederick trust him. Those four trust him because Robin risked his life to help save Ylissean lives and proved his loyalty. It really isn’t that hard to wrap your head around. Like I’m sorry if I sound condescending here but I really don’t see why you’re so hard on this game’s story cause it really isn’t as bad as you’re making it out to be. I mean opinions and all that but you’re presenting your case as an objective argument and that’s when I feel I have to say something

Hey man, I’m just not a fan of how Robin was handled in this game. You disagree? Great. We can still post in the same thread and have a civil discussion right?

Pay no attention to him. The only way losers like him will disappear is if we ignore him and his Texas sized bullshit.

Nope. People like you are the reason this community gets a bad and undeserving reputation. You’ve allowed your ego to cloud your judgement, and you act like your opinion is the only opinion that matters. Weather you want to admit or not, Awakening and Fates will live on as loved games that saved a dying series. They breathed new life into this series, while your precious older titles nearly killed it. That’s right. Your favorite games nearly killed this series. The numbers prove it. Face it, people like you are no longer the main customer of this series. I am, @Ottservia is, @Thane is, @SatsumaFSoysoy is, @Armagon is, and many others like them are now the customers and true fans of this series now. You, as well as every other old-guard gatekeeper out there, is an afterthought. I know it, everyone else with an IQ higher than 10 knows it, Nintendo knows it, Intelligence Systems knows it, and deep down, you know it. You know it, and angers the ever living fuck out of you, doesn’t it?

You want to see this series improve? Leave it and let the actual auidance of Fire Emblem play and support it, instead of trying to change it back into something it never was. Swear to God, you veteran Fire Emblem fans are about as bad as the assholes who rob people with the end of a weapon pointed at their face. Rant freaking over.

    .......

You know, I thought at first you were a troll, but now you’ve shown you’re flat out crazy. Decerd, if you genuinely, seriously, honest to God believe everything you just said in that post, I seriously recommend seeing help. This isn’t normal behavior in the slightest.

Because you’re an elisist. I don’t have to prove it, it’s self goddamn evident.

Hear that everyone? According to this guy, I’m an elisit, no actual, credible proof required.

No, but I bet you feel awfully good about dumping on two genuinely good games that you for some reason hate don’t you?

I don’t feel anything, other than tiredness of having to deal with this nonsense.

People like you think that before the “heretical 3DS titles of Satan!” happened, Fire Emblem was the grand, Lord of The Rings journey specifically targeted towards the West, when in reality it wasn’t. It was just a nice, fun strategy-RPG. But know the “mean, old weeabos have infected this precious series of mine!”, you hate it. You hate it for being something it never was. And that is why you and your kind are a bunch of losers.

You’re trolling me at this point, right?

Can’t blame me for starting a fire when you’re the one who lit the match, buddy.

I didn’t start any fire here. Funny that you of all people lecture me about starting one. I’m finished talking with you.

Except Robin actually proved himself before he became a Shepard so that point's kinda moot.

Freddy would like to have a word with you. Granted his suspicions are short lived but for good reason. I mean you just helped save a burning village from a bandit attack and for the most part proved your loyalty in that battle along with the one to follow against the risen. Robin easily could’ve ran but he stayed and helped. I’d say that’s more than enough to relieve any suspicion.

Yes, Robin showed he’s a good tactican, but I personally think that people were too trusting of Robin. I find it hard to believe that people would wholeheartedly treat someone they don’t know who also claims to have lost his memory to be their friend straight out of the gate.

    6 minutes ago, Decerd said:

Then I guess you’ll also agree that you made that point up just to get a pot shot at the two of them then?

Now you’re diving into conspiracy theory levels of nonsense here. How do you know that my gripes with the Avatars are “made up” as you say?

    9 minutes ago, Decerd said:

Whenever anything gets brought up about Awakening and Fates, you trash it because you don’t like it.

Welcome to the existence of differing opinions. And I don’t trash everything about the two games. Despite how I feel, they do have some solid points to them, the music, Conquest’s gameplay, some of the characters I like for example.

    14 minutes ago, Decerd said:

. Nevermind the fact others out there like the two games, you slam it because it’s not “a philosophical journey like the old FE titles.”

I can live with that. I can live with people liking the two games I don’t like, and I can also live with people criticizing games I like. And what the hell do you mean by that quote? FE wasn’t a philosophical journey of any kind to begin with, and I certainly didn’t say that, if that’s what you’re trying to imply.

    18 minutes ago, Decerd said:

If you’re going to slam a game, at least have the decency to be upfront about slamming it and not coming up with some contrived reason to slam it.

And you can at least have the decency not to be a jerk when discussing differing opinions.

  4. 8 minutes ago, Decerd said:

Even though this is an issue that’s not strictly related to the two.

Didn’t I just agree with you on that?

    8 minutes ago, Decerd said:

But hey, you’ve been constantly going on and on about how Robin and Corrin are the worst thing to have happened to Fire Emblem, so it’s not like anything I or anyone else can say will stop you at this point.

When have I been going “on and on” about Robin and Corrin? I only bring them up when it’s appropriate to the topic at hand. You don’t see me starting whole treads dedicated to slamming the two now do you?

    8 minutes ago, Decerd said:

I didn’t put words in your mouth. Stop being hostile.

You kinda did. And I’m not being the hostile one here.

    7 minutes ago, Ottservia said:

Corrin maybe but Robin definitely not

I respectfully disagree. Chrom brings in Robin, can’t remember anything but his name, to be tactian of the Shepard’s, and nobody raises an eyebrow at that? I’m just saying.

  5. 6 minutes ago, Decerd said:

This issue isn’t strictly related to Robin and Corrin. Nearly all of the Fire Emblem lords are treated like everyone’s best friend, so that’s blatantly wrong.

That may be, but I’d argue Robin and Corrin are the worst when it comes to this, more so than any other main character in Fire Emblem.

    7 minutes ago, Decerd said:

Besides, what the point of having you control an army if everyone hates you?

I never said everyone should hate Byleth. I said I’d like for some characters to distrust him, but not every single character. Your putting words in my mouth man.

  6. You know, one thing I’d like from Byleth is for them to be hated by people who aren’t just the antagonists. One of the big reasons I don’t like the three previous avatars is how  just about everyone treated them like these “holier than thou” characters who could do no wrong, which only added to their Sue/Stu status as characters.

Have some people in Three Houses who initially don’t trust Byleth, but as they slowly work their way through the game winning battles as they go along, they gradually win the trust of the characters around them, as opposed to just having everyone liking them instantly. That would make Byleth a 10x more interesting character than Robin or Corrin.

  7. I slightly prefer Fates over Awakening, mainly because:

    • Fate's cast has 5 more characters that I actually like (Laslow and Orboro for example) as opposed to Awakening's cast, which was a grand number of....2.
    • Conquest's gameplay. While I don't think the second half of the game is that good, Conquest's gameplay overall is miles better than the rest of 3DS titles.
    • Fates did a better job with the pair-up mechanic than Awakening did.

Both games still feel like a waste $50+ though.

    • Dimtri is going to have something to do with the antagonists, seeing as how he's stated to have a dark side to him.
    • Jeralt is going to die. No shocker there.
    • Sothis is related to "The Goddess" in someway.
    • Byleth will be the first silent avatar, yet he'll/she'll be just as poorly written as the last 3 avatars.
    • One of the 3 lords is going to die.

That's all I can think of.

  8. I'm sure at some point we've all had a dream crossover game we all wish could happen. What are some dream crossover games you wish could happen?

For me, a crossover I wish could happen is Shin Megami Tensei X Persona. The two series are own by the same company, and they're apart of the same franchise. I've always wanted to see what would happen when you put the characters of Persona 4 or 5 in the same room as someone like the Demi-Fiend or Flynn. I dunno why, but I think the idea of having a group of kids with the responsibility of using their powers to save the world interact with a survivor of the post-apocalyptic who's forced to choose between the forces of Law and Chaos would be interesting to see.

As for what kind of game it'd be, I like for it to be either a fighting game similar to the Arena titles or a dungeon crawler RPG similar to the old school SMT games with the option to play as either the Persona protagonists or SMT protagonists.

  9. Not necessarily hyped, but cautiously interested. The art’s kinda....there, and I don’t have high hopes for the story. I have a feeling it’ll be better than Fateswaking (world building’s already better) but also nothing super special. Gameplay looks really interesting though, and I’ll be cool with the cast of characters as long as most of them are not walking character tropes that never left the paper.
