  1. I'm pretty sure Birthright, Conquest and Revelation took about 80 hours each for me with minimal grinding (on Rev only), so I'm not sure why everyone is freaking out so much.
  2. The monastery is a pretty substantial portion of the game, though. And the one where you'll be looking at Byleth the most.
  3. I suspect that the Black Eagles route split mentioned in the leak is whether or not Byleth turns agianst Edelgard or stays with her until the end. Though I'm hoping that the conflict always happen and the real split is whether Byleth defeats Edelgard or Edelgard defeats Byleth and takes over as the player character. This would explain why she's apparently the only bi lord in the game and also why there are more lesbian than gay options in the game. Only thing that would need explaining is how she takes over the Divine Pulse from byleth but it seems that Sothis will enter the real world and then the rewinding power should be tied to her rather than Byleth.
  4. I'm talking about the one that appears just before the giant worm. It's covered in bandages.
  5. Does anyone know what the mummified Beast is called? I assume the giant worm is just called Giant Worm.
  6. I'm not sure someone is riding it, it could just be spines on it s back. I think that the dragon is Sothis.
  7. I had to add a vote for the King of Red Lions since no one had voted for him yet. His role in the ending is just the best.
  8. The reason Swedes speak so good English is because of our comprehensive English education and our exposure to American media (that is usually subbed rather than dubbed). If you look at older generations, from when English wasn't as big of a school subject and American movies and television weren't as dominant, you get way more stilted speech and noticeable accents. Petra, by comparison, is explicitly unfamiliar with the Adrestian/Fodlan language. Also reposting this from the twitter update thread:
  9. This video made me realize something. There have been hints that Edelgard will get a second crest at some point in the game. Maybe Linhardt is the one that figures out how to give it to her and operates/oversees the procedure? Screenshots have shown that despite being a princess of Brigid, she's still classified as a "commoner" according to her startign class. That should give you an idea.
  10. I'm the opposite. Playing a female character makes it less awkward to date fictional characters, because there is a greater distance between me and my player character. The same is true for games where the characters and dialogue is less lifelike and more abstracted. Previous Fire Emblem games fit this; but now that there's a player character you actually walk around with, more detailed models, dialogue options, voice acting and actual cutscenes for supports i think this could change. Niles is the only unit in Conquest and one of only two that can capture. That alone makes him one of the best units in Fates. As for who I'd romance, it would be more dependent on who I think makes sense storywise tha nwho I think is the most attractive. In Fates for example I romanced kaze and Rinkah due to the scene where Byleth spares them in the beginning. Edit: As a consequence of the above, my actual considerations are based on leaks and/or specualtions, so most of them have to be in spoiler tags. The one that doesn't need spoiler tags is that if the theory that Byleth can go back in time and go through all the timelines on a single playthrough is true the nI think romancing Sothis on the last route makes sense since she would be the only character to fully be with Byleth from the start to the end. Just please give her a different form thanks. Leak spoilers below.:
  11. Why would people assume that Edelgard's supposed second crest is Hresvelg anyway? If it was the crest of someone famous enough to get a capital named after them then Marianne's crest obviously wouldn't be listed as "???". It's certainly not a something that any of her ancestors had, unless maybe around the time of Seiros. The Adrestian Empire is listed specifically as being inherited by the wielder of the crest of Seiros with no other crest mentioned, and if this crest was passed down through the imperial bloodline people would know what name it's supposed to have. Most likely Edelgard finds some crest manipulation technique from the Flame Emperor or someone after beating them and uses it to give herself a second crest. The biggest and most obvious support for this theory is that her Famitsu profile literally shows her only having one crest at the start of the game.
  12. Actually the leak said that probably wasn't in the fina version of the game anymore.
  13. They actually look really different though? Their ears, head shapes and eye shapes are all different. And their hair isn't similar even. The only part that is similar is their chest size (Kronya's are slightly bigger but that makes sense with the timeskip and different outfit).
  14. Deaths In SoV didn't jsut affect endings, there were also special quotes from their friends after the battle ends. I guess no one noticed because people just play on casual or reset anyway and also Mila's Turnwheel. Which is a big part of why I'm not really agreeing with the people saying we must have more characters than just the students in part one because of permadeath. The time rewinding makes peramdeath much less of a deal when it comes to unit availability.
  15. Wasn't Seteth a Wyvern Rider, though? Yet he doesn't teach flying.
  16. It happened in SoV, but nowhere else really. I think Roy and Marth make some offhand comment if Lilina and Caeda die, but that's it.
  17. A prime example of how literal translations aren't always a good thing.
  18. That's only true for Beginner classes. Beginner classes only need you to meet one of the requirements, while Intermediate and Advanced classes require you to meet all the requirements. You can see that they have different wording when you reclass. Edit: By Tenzen's logic there should be an option to recruit every single enemy unit in the game, since some enemy units can be recruited i nevery Fire Emblem game. If tha tenemy unit is unrecruitable it will just say so when you try to recruit them.
  19. So since there's three Nightcrawlers, iwonder if you will fight a different one depending on which rout you pick.
  20. The portrait is definitely meant for Ignatz. Otherwise I think Mercedes and Marianne are the most religious of the bunch. I know Claude was going over a map in the Golden Deer introduction video. Raitei is the Hero Relic corresponding to Lysithea's Crest of Charon. Lorenz, Mercedes and Annette all went to the magic academy, but Lysithea seems the most interested in learning more about magic. Annette is clumsy so maybe that could give her motion sickness problems maybe? If not her then someone who flies a lot. I think a lot of gifts are meant to work for multiple students, though.
